Mr. Rundell does a fantastic job of putting you in the action in his stories. I have read the individual books in this collection when they came out but this collection puts the, all in order from start to finish. Even having read them prior to this I very much enjoyed this reading with them all together chronologically. They tell a story of commitment and doing the right thing even when it is difficult. There is plenty of action and parts that get you to thinking about your own actions. Mr. Rundell is a great writer and I really enjoy reading his books. I really recommend them to all readers.
I really love how Mr. Rundell creates strong characters that you can root for and get involved with... And the men are strong physically, yet are confident in their affirmation of faith. These are good stories with marvelous details about mid nineteenth century life out west. Gold greed, buffalo hunting and underlying theme of white men's predominant cruelty to natives. It was good and bad then, just as now. Humans still have much to learn about kindness and compassion.
Love how B. N. Russell is able to blend western history with God's word! The characters come alive as we travel with them through good and bad times. We are always reminded that God is right there with us, helping us overcome every difficulty in life. The Bible scriptures are tucked in nicely to add to but not distract from the story to show how much God loves His children.
