Lake Laps

Rate this book
Sometimes you have to have the rug pulled out from beneath your feet to test your spine. The award nominated family suspense, Lake Laps is the broken fairytale of the family next door in a quiet little lakeside town. How far are you willing to go to slay the dragon that has threatened your princess? What do you trade? Who and what can you let go of in order to save your family? It's a tale of family bonds and retribution, a battle to find peace. This is the story of one mother who was willing to go that far. To save them, she danced with the devil himself.

I am a thriller/suspense author who got her start a little later in life. I think that I needed to experience the breathtaking highs and the soul crushing lows on my life's journey before I was able to really give the reader the emotional journey that I aimed to give. My style is to pull back the curtains on the ordinary person, the cookie cutter neighbor and the family that looks like they have it all together. The truth is, we all have secrets to hide.

I have four books currently in production, Fraidy Hole, Lake Laps, Beneath Her Lies and Ghosts in the Glades. (Fraidy Hole and Lake Laps have released, Beneath Her Lies is in preorder and launching April 26th, 2024, and Ghosts in the Glades is slated for later in 2024.

In the past two years that I have been writing, I have been blessed to have been part of some pretty cool awards. I have placed as a finalist in the Killer Nashville Claymore awards in 2022 and 2023, the shortlist on the Hawthorne Awards in 2023, London's Page Turner Awards Longlist for two of my books in 2023, Honorable Mention at the Hollywood Book Festival in 2023 , the Gold Five Star Award through Literary Titan, a quarter finalist in the ScreenCraft Cinematic Book Competition, and a finalist in the Literary Global Book Awards.

This has been a wild journey, and I can't wait to see where it goes!

Well that was an emotional rollercoaster I wasn’t prepared to take. I woke up this morning with 40 pages to go, made a cup of coffee and sat down to finish it. The book is closed, my coffee is cold and my eyeliner is smudged. This was one of those books that will linger with you for awhile.

As a mom of younger kids, this was so emotionally stunning. The writing is straight forward, and she offers a no holds barred and truthful explanation of where the main character is standing emotionally. The way the story is handled reminds me of Jodi Picoult a bit, which I am very happy with, because over the years, I tend to pick up just about anything written by her, and I intend to do the same with this new author.

Very emotional read

This book is a must-read for anyone who's ever experienced the fierce love and devotion that comes with being a parent. As a mom of two daughters, I found myself reflecting on my own relationships with my children. The author's writing is raw, honest, and unapologetic, making for a truly unforgettable reading experience. So, grab some tissues and get ready for a wild ride!

It is a dark and suspenseful story. It is thought-provoking vacillating emotions that the reader can imagine the consequences of a person's action. Consequences can shape, support, and derail you. It is riveting and not for the faint of heart. The story was well written. The characters are fleshed out perfectly. It was a heartbreaking and emotional read. Definitely recommend it to every reader.

I am not a person who reads often as nothing seems to grasp my attention and keep it, but this novel... just wow! I finished it in two days because I couldn't put the book down. Purchase it now to read and thank me later! Parts of this novel left me speechless with my jaw on the floor...

OUCH! My heart still hurts from this one. It's all too easy to put yourself into the shoes of Max and try to let the question eat away at you, what would you do? This is one of those books that you won't soon forget. Great read!

What a deep book that talks about the hard parts of a relationship between a mother and daughter. Great read, just such a shocking ending and is pretty emotional to read. I'd definitely recommend though.

I read this one after I read Fraidy Hole, which I really enjoyed, and was shocked at how differently this one was written! As a mom, it was hard to forget. If you are looking for a great read, but a good cry at the same time, give this one a chance.

Wow. A work of fiction that reads like a haunting memoir. This one stays with you long after you put the book down. I’m still stunned. Looking forward to reading more from this author.
