One sunny day, a routine airshow ended with me flying through a portal to another world. Here, warplanes aren’t the only thing in the sky. Oh, and my mind has a tendency to see what others are thinking.
Now, amongst airships, beautiful beastkin, floating continents and telepathic powers, I’ll have to pick a side to fight for.
When I do, I'll have to prove my loyalty, my skill, and play my part in saving this world from an evil that crossed from my world into this one.
On the ground, I’m just a man, but in the air, I’m as powerful as a dragon. Fortunately, the beautiful fox, wolf, and lion girls of Dione don't just need me in battle, they need me in their beds too.
All is fair in love and war.
I’ll fly any plane, pat any head, and develop my skills as a minder, all while sniffing out spies as I work my way to a hundred kills.
I almost skipped reading this book solely based on the cover art. With so many pinup art examples from WW Il aircraft, it would have been easy to adapt one for the cover art. The story was well told with good character development and a cohesive plot. There was enough action and romance to tie the storyline together. I’m looking forward to book 2.
This is from a brand new author but if feels like a veteran author wrote this book. The story flowed well and the setting is great. Love the use of WWII setting and the abilities of the MC. Not every fantasy/harem series needs super over powered MC who is related to dragons or something (nothing wrong with that of course). Loved the book! CAN NOT WAIT for the next one!
This is a great take on history with an isekai twist. Love the characters, the description of the land , and the mechanics of aerial combat. The interactions of people and their politics is well thought out.
This story is different than anything I’ve come across, and it is RIVETING! I HIGHLY recommend Wings and Tails! Author Isaac Lee - many thanks for your work in crafting this compelling story. So fun; so filled with apprehension. The the thrill and fear of WW II- style air combat only adds to how great this story is. WELL DONE. VERY well done.
To a great series. The author did a great job of taking some of our history and mixed it with his world building to create something unique. I thoroughly enjoyed all the characters and the development, showing that even enemies of ignorance can be brought together and change for the good. If you enjoy a little bit of adventure in the form of combat pilots mixed in with what life on bases or on board ship would be and just letting loose in port on your leave, then I highly recommend this book! An excellent read, and I can't wait for the next book!
Very good read! The only issue I have with it is more of a pet peeve, and that's when there is a very promising LI that ends up being crazy and betraying the MC. It seems like Madeline is a little messed in the head due to abuse by her father and their human allies, so hopefully the MC can fix her.
I didn't think too much of the book from the blurb at first, but this moved up in my TBR queue after a friend recommended it and its unique setting
To be honest, I hope a lot more authors do a mix of fantasy and WWi/WW2 era technology.
Once this story kicked in, MAN was I absolutely HOOKED. I could not put this down after the initial shocker that I don't want to spoil. I expected this book to be a fairly standard harem story and thought it was setting it up as such when it took a complete left turn. And i mean that in the best possible way
Love that the author also did get dirty with some of the 'other' things. I.e. the intimate scenes were not FTB and there were more than i was expected (i always could use more lol) but it did not distract from the story at all.
i am VERY curious where book 2 is going to go and am definitely going to follow this author closely. I've come across a few new authors in the past couple of months that have all been pleasantly surprising me and its great!
Wings and Tails is an excellent concept executed beautifully. The author seems to have put real thought into the world and how it works, so much of it feels natural.
The main characters are all fun and interesting, too, with plenty of depth and their own stories. Some of the side characters feel a little thing, but there are plenty of them and the book can only spend so much time on each of them, I'm sure we'll learn more as we go.
The plot definitely didn't end up where I thought it would, but like the world, it feels well thought out, and none of it feels all that forced. Honestly, my singular complaint is simply that there's not that much air combat to be had. What's here is rather short, though still plenty well written. I can't deduct points, though, because everything else is handled so well.
I'm eagerly awaiting the sequel and any other future projects by the author!
I almost bailed when the MC started to smoke and bemoaned his being able to. But fortunately, he stopped whining about it. Otherwise, the MC was solid.
The women, all beastkin, were interesting. The first he really spends time with will challenge many fans of haremlit for plot reasons. The next two are fun.
The plot had some quite unexpected turns to it, and was mostly historically accurate.
The writing was pretty good, but I got bored with the constant sex scenes and too rapidly developing harem elements. The first relationship was very well done, the second seemed rushed and the third was just ridiculously fast and easy. All the while, world building and actual conflict seemed neglected.
Never read a genre book quite like this! I really enjoyed it. World War II comes alive on another world with a fighter pilot from the 1940s leading the way! Can’t wait to read the second book!
This story was really really outstanding, fun and entertaining from the first page, great loveable characters really well written. I enjoyed every minute of this book.
The Story is very good. It’s engrossing well thought out and very engaging. You’ll never wanna put it down. If your a fan of beastkin you will love this book 10 out of 10 can recommend can’t wait to read the next book.
This is such a unique book, I love the WW2 crossover. It's such an interesting time in our history, and I wish we had more books in this genre that utilized it. All the characters are very fleshed out and feel real, and the story is amazing.
This was a unique and enjoyable experience. I felt like I was being transported back into the past with this story. It reminded me of the old war movies that I watched with my grandfather. Great job 👏🏻
This is a fantastic novel. The characters were enjoyable and didn't feel fake. Smut was well-written and not too short. I also really enjoyed the story!
Very enjoyable read. Loved the setting with its mix of the fantastical and historical. All characters were a little bit flat but love interests were especially egregious, which just made the rushed romance all the more glaring. Plot was generally well done and fun. Prose was fairly crisp and competent with believable dialog. All the sex scenes I could honestly leave entirely.
