Sneaking Around With My Husband's Enemy: Office Cheating Romantic Erotica

Rate this book
This book was previously published as "Sneaking Around With My Husband's Enemy" by Evie Dawn. The current edition has undergone extensive editing, and although many parts from the original have been retained, they have been modified and reworked to better align with the author’s new vision.

My husband was spending a lot more time thinking about his enemy than me, his own wife.

Having now met Damien, I was inclined to agree. The man was hard to ignore and damn near impossible to forget.

I could barely take my eyes off his tall, muscular frame, that arrogant smile he kept flashing, those intelligent, mesmerizing, eyes that seemed to be glued to my cleavage.

Of course, our first meeting ended up with me begging him to give me the dominant pleasure my husband never could.

Damien and I used any chance to sneak around, every moment riskier than the one before, one time even with my husband in the room, oblivious to my presence under his enemy's desk.

But with every passing day, not only the hate between Damien and my husband grew more and more, but also my feelings for my secret lover.

Was I going to end up being the spoil of war in the fight between the one who I vowed to be loyal to and the walking dark temptation of a man I've been betraying him with?

This story is an extra spicy cheating wife romantic erotica, with a slutty wife, a dominant alpha male, a HEA and no pregnancy. All characters in this story are 18 years of age or older. This book is for adults only. All the books in this series are standalone and feature different couples.

When people criticize readers for reading smut because it is "basically porn"....that is what this book is. The whole point of the characters getting together for a business meeting...but what exactly is the business??? FMC is software development and works with husband, MMC is in marketing and they talk about interacting with a client..but never discussed what they actually do! Because it doesn't matter....because this book is literally porn, and not even good porn.

The author literally copied and pasted a lot of the same "spice scene" over and over again (like how many times can someone just the word "jackhammered" - apparently a LOT!). Also, there is more than one position...I actually got BORED reading the sex scenes!!

I can see why Kindle literally dumped this book into people's laps by marking it down as "free" because it really is trash. None of the characters are likeable or redeeming - the "fights" between the husband and enemy aren't even written out so we don't know why there is animosity and honestly, would have been better if the twist was that they all had a threesome and became a triad. Otherwise, why would FMC fall for the enemy who is barely better than her husband, constantly complaining about the other? The husband and MMC have more chemistry!!

Also, this book has clearly never met an editor. So many typos, grammar mistakes, and again the author clearly copied and pasted because there were a few instances she meant to put down "my lover" but used "my husband" and especially given the context of these scenes, it was NOT meant to be her husband!!

So dump this book and read something else. Or better yet, leave this book unfinished and "cheat" on it!

This book is crazy, but I loved it anyway! The dialogue is awkward, it has loads of typos, but honestly, I couldn't put it down. Emma and Damien's chemistry is smokin' hot! We jump headfirst into the fire fast, and those first love scenes are so steamy I'm still getting goosebumps long after putting the book down. The heat does cool a bit, and the love scenes do get a little redundant, but I was impressed that Evie Dawn was able to incorporate one in almost every chapter and basically keep things fresh and exciting. It's so sweet when we begin to see that Damien really cares about Emma, that she isn't just an affair for him and that the names he calls her by and the things he says in bed aren't literal reality but terms of endearment that turn Emma and the reader on as her lover teases her right up until the very end. The book does have its holes. We hear Emma's lover and husband have known each since college days, but we never learn why they're "enemies," and are simply left to imagine they're engaged in a battle of the egos and nothing more. More importantly, why do Emma and Damien fall in love, exactly? I guess we can assume it is because Damien gets Emma in ways Liam doesn't, that he's sensitive to her feelings where Liam never was and that his concern and love for Emma are simply deeper and more genuine than her husband's. But it's difficult to see this develop when all Emma and Damien ever do is have sex. The sex makes the book fun, but I would have liked to see a little more apart from just that. And what they were doing in the last quarter of the book...really didn't care for it. That said, I loved the story anyway. In spite of its flaws, it's easily one of the best books I've read in 2024!

3.4/5🌟 and 10/10 🌶
I saw this book for free on Kindle, and I downloaded it once I read the description and some of the reviews. This book was...something lol. Granted, if you looking for a spicy read, the main characters banged in almost every chapter. I think the only normal chapters were chapter 1 and part of chapter 2. For chapters 3-15 you need to grab a church fan and some iced sweet tea because things get heated. I do believe the book could have 2 less chapters because it was the same thing going on in each chapter. Everything hits the fan when the husband finds out about the affair, but then shortly after he discovers Emma and Damien they go right back to banging.
Emma got on my nerves a little bit because she would kind of go in circles from I don't love Damien to I love Damien. I was like, "Girl, pick a side! At this point flip a coin." Also what Damien did at the end of the book was so shady. I don't know how Emma went back to him so quickly after he broke her trust.
Despite some of my bombastic side eye to some of the dialogue in this book, I had a fun quick read. What a way to complete my reading challenge🤣.

When her husband starts to focus purely on his rival, our heroine has to turn somewhere else for affection. And if that happens to be into the arms of that same enemy, maybe it is karma balancing out.

This is a short romance story with cheating as the theme. The story is well written and easy to read with well developed characters that have a nice depth to them. The plot is fairly straightforward, but still highly enjoyable and engaging. There is also plenty of steam. Overall, this was a very enjoyable evening read and I definitely look forward to more from this author.

Highly recommended.

This book moved really quickly. The cheating started in the first chapter which surprised me. I thought there would be some build up to it. The arguments between the husband and enemy are never really out there; it just kept saying they would go at each other but never said what they would say. I didn’t feel a connection with any of the characters so I found myself skimming through a lot of the scenes because they seemed to all be repetitive.

obviously not for you if you’re not into cheating, but that one feels like it should be obvious. climax was a little rushed but i probably would have tossed it 4 stars if it was edited. it feels like a mediocre-ly translated manga? there’s just a lot of weird word choices and general sentence structure that probably wouldn’t ping on automated grammar management but feel Very weird to read

I'll pass

The repetition of cliche lines killed it for me. I forced myself to read about five chapters but couldn't do it anymore. I skimmed the rest of the book. It never got any better.

the cheating aspect still disturbs me, but the taboo was good.
