4.5 stars Touched is an action-adventure fantasy tale that came together by 10 talented authors: Skye Turner, Sloane Nicole, April D. Berry, C.J. Pinard, Danielle Jamie, Darlene Tallman, Julie Morgan, Livell James, Machelle Hanleigh, and Melissa MacKinnon. It’s not a boxset of stories. They don’t have their own stories it is one story with each giving their own input, a piece of themselves collated into one intriguing story. This is a tale of forbidden love, forbidden fruit, fate, destiny, Fae, magic and lots more. It is steamy and sexy, alluring and passionate, supernatural and fantasy. This tale will not only capture your heart but will leave you wanting more. Detective Callum LeBlanc thought he had done it all, seen it all but boy was he wrong. It was always in front of him but now that his eye were open there was no going back. Not that he wanted to go back. Aeris knew it was forbidden but he was her one. The one fate had promised but could it be a cruel twist that it had bestowed upon her. This intricately woven tale will have you hoping against hope that love will prevail. Very cleverly done indeed. It is the first book in a five-part series I can’t wait to see what they bring in the other books.
Wow, this book packs a punch! Several authors joined together to create a story of epic proportions. It has magic, wonder, romance, action, suspense, heroes and heroines fighting to save all kind. This story is so involved that it will take more than one book to tell it all. However, it does not end on a cliffhanger as such. Get ready for the ride of your life!
Touched is the first book in the Elemental Passions series. The book features Aeris, an inquisitive fae interested in humans outside of Laric. Despite warnings from her older brother, Cyrus, she uses glamour and sneaks out to watch humans without interacting with them. However, she learns that Callum, a police detective, can see her. Aeris bumps into Callum on the street. Seeing how distressed Aeris is, Callum tries to offer her help. Aeris flees and disappears from his sight.
Inside a dark bar, Callum meets with his informant about a drug drop location that the notorious Trahan brothers were planning for Friday at midnight. It is evident that Tony is afraid of being caught giving Callum information. When Callum is driving toward his precinct, he drops his phone long enough to distract him. He strikes a pedestrian and runs to the front of his truck to see Aeris lying in a pool of blood. Nobody can see her except Callum. While he is distracted by another person, Aeris heals herself. Callum convinces her to take her for a ride because he wants to know her better.
Aeris hides her interaction with a human from Cyrus. She researches glamour and finds it doesn’t work on mythical creatures. If a mortal has mythical blood, they can also see past glamour. She meets Callum again and reveals she is a Fae. Callum recalls his grandmother telling him he had Sylph blood but didn’t know what that meant. Noticing a storm forming rapidly, Callum tries to take Aeris to his truck but a strong wind snatches her away. Aeris knows she is in serious trouble since her father used a storm to bring her back to Laric.
There is a lot of suspense in Touched. Fae are not supposed to be around humans. Callum didn’t believe in fairy tales until Aeris entered his life. Something between them draws both of them together and it is obvious that the traditional alpha male persona that Callum has will be challenged by the strong-willed Aeris. What is a Sylph? What does it mean to be human and Sylph? Can Aeris convince her family and fellow Fae to accept Callum? Does Aeris have to leave Laric forever if she wants to be with Callum. All of these intriguing questions are answered in an unpredictable story of forbidden romance.
Touched: Elemental Passions Book One by Skye Turner, Sloane Nicole, April D. Berry, C.J. Pinard, Danielle Jamie, Darlene Tallman, Julie Morgan, Livell James, Machelle Hanleigh, and Melissa MacKinnon - Review by Jessica Stone
To start off if you can't tell by the title of my review this story was written by 10 different authors which is WILD to me, it's not multiple little stories in one volume, no this is 10 writers coming together to create one epic fantasy.
I was hesitant about the fact that there were so many hands in the compilation of this book but it was done well and flows seamlessly. To be honest I quite enjoyed this more than I have any other book recently. It's filled with fantasy, action, a little romance, hard decisions, witty banter, a little angst, it takes place (partially) in New Orleans which is not only my favorite city, but the perfect setting for all things strange and unusual.
The female main character Aeris, I absolutely adored, I love her fiery personality, her inquisitive nature and her penchant for trouble. Honestly, she was refreshing as a strong, female main character, making the hard choices and following her heart.
I also enjoyed our male main character, he's a good man and I think the perfect match for Aeris in all ways. I think he's confused and angry and lost at first and that makes his full character arc much better, to see him grow with the story, rather than staying who he is.
I'm not sure how many books will be in this series but I can definitely say I am here for all of them! There is a much world and lore become realty and some really interesting characters that I would love to see get their moments.

Touched: Elemental Passions Book One By Skye Turner, Sloan Nicole, April D. Berry, C.J. Pinard, Danielle Jamie, Darlène Tallman, Julie Morgan, Livell James, Machelle Hanleigh and Melissa MacKinnen 4 Stars
Things I loved about this book: Aeris: she’s beautiful, caring, inquisitive, a rebel and a rule breaker -takes place in New Orleans -has interesting characters -involves mythical characters not frequently written about ie: trolls and sylphs -a bit of action, adventure and fantasy -trope of forbidden romance
Things I didn’t like: Callum: he seemed out of character for a detective. He always seemed lost, angry or possessive. His thoughts were always scattered -there was no depth to the characters -aside for the sexy scenes ( which were definitely adult) the story read as if for a fourteen year old. The characters yelling, pouting and stomping feet. They acted like adolescents -it amazes me that it took ten authors to write this book and not one of them realized that the characters acted like children
If you’re into fantasy and romance and are looking for a light read, this may be for you. The story itself is interesting and there is more going on behind the scenes with the plot. It’s a different twist to your everyday fae stories.
I really enjoyed this book. I love that there are multiple authors that came together to create a unique story line and book. It is really well put together and you really can't tell which author wrote what part. I feel like that makes the writing of this book top notch. It is seamlessly done and the steam that is poured into the pages, really made the book feel like it came from one author. I can't imagine the amount of time and communication it took in order for the book to flow like it does. AMAZING!!! Let's talk about the steam, it isn't in your face like it can be in some books but it is there to really help the story line. The storyline would continue without it and be completely fine but it just adds the right amount of spice to make you blush but not sweat. I really enjoyed it. The characters are really well thought out and have amazing growth throughout the book. The fact that this book has spice, magic, mystery, supernatural entities, and romance; means it really hits a lot of marks for people to pick it up. I highly suggest reading this book for an escape and to just thoroughly enjoy reading.
Touched is Book 1 in the Elemental Passions series and I am just amazed that 10 authors completed this story together. It is just one story, having it all come together by multiple talented authors truly amazed me. The story was fantastic weaving a blend of Fae, magic, forbidden love, secrets, suspense, fantasy and romance. I cannot wait to see where this series takes me....I am totally intrigued.
What can possibly happen when you see through a Fae's glamour? Detective Callum LeBlanc finds out on the streets of New Orleans...mesmerized by a beauty that he cannot stop thinking about. Aeris loves visiting among humans...but uses glamour so she is not noticed as a shield to protect herself and her Fae family. When Callum sees though her glamour...something is amiss. Humans are not supposed to see Fae when they have their glamour hiding them. The sparks ignite between them..there is something between them that is undeniable. Aeris knows the attraction between her and Callum is forbidden including even talking or being among humans....
This book is PHENOMENAL!! Can we just stop and take a moment to appreciate that 10 authors came together and wrote this with ”one” voice?! That’s how seamless it truly is- you can’t separate the authors from one another!!
Now on to the book. If you like/love fantasy romance fiction this is a book for you! You have Aeris a fae who isn’t suppose to leave Laric (their fae village) and interact/observe humans but she glamours up and does just that. Runs into Callum a human police detective who can see her through her glamour!! She runs back to Laric and gets in trouble for leaving the protective wards but not told why she should not leave. Aeris feels a “pull” towards Callum and is torn between listening to her parents and brother or following her heart.
So much goes on within these covers and I do not want to spoil this book for you but it’s book one of what I think is going to be a spectacular series and I honestly can’t wait for book 2 to come out!!
10 Authors one book, one could only imagine what it would be like. The book was a different genre then what I would normally read. I am not into the Mythical Creature stories of the book world, fairies, trolls, centars and slyph. But when I found out that Danielle Jamie was a writer on this book, I could not, not read it. I have loved all her books! She has opened up a new world of reading to me. The book as was slow start for me, it took until about Chapter 6 for me to really get into the book. Aeris and Callum is a love story for those who believe in love at first sight. Touched is so much more than your typical Love Story, it gives you the ups and the downs, the overcoming the obstacles and fighting for your love and home, as humans and mythical creatures create one army. Are you a member of the Fire, Water, Earth, or Air? These elements become one and show that love does not care, or see the difference. Love is Love. Touched is not a book I would of picked off the shelf myself, but I am ready to continue the Story and seeing how all the Elements combine to save Laric and build it up, to be something great!
Read Time 5 hours 45 minutes Notes - 10 Authors... one story .. one voice.. amazed.
This is the first book in the Elemental series, and wow, if this is the start... I can't wait to follow the series.
Aeris is Fae.. she likes to sneak around the mortal world... watching the humans go about their everyday lives, its not like they can see her..
Callum is a detective, trying to break a smuggling case.. Everything in his life is normal until he bumps into this enchanging looking woman....
'...you can see me...? '
Follow their upcoming days when Callum learns that the world is not as normal as he believed it to be... and where werewolves, witches, and things that go bump in the night... they really exist...
I rated the story in this book 4 stars because it's building the series up, so a lot of the details you're getting in the first book are to relate to the series.. but because it had multiple writers, which made the literally job a huge piece of work, and yet I could not tell which part belonged to whom... There's no way I can't rate in 5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆
I love a book that when I start it my first thought is “oh this is gonna be good!”. I sometimes have a hard time getting fully invested into a fantasy type storyline. But let me tell you just how quickly I fell into this book’s storyline world! I’m a reader through and through I read tons of books and this one is in my top five hands down for this year. Callum and Aeris will probably be one of my favorite sets of main characters forever. Each one brought such fun vibes to the already great storyline. Aeris immediately captured my attention right from the first chapter. I simply loved my time with these characters and this book world. It’s well paced and I truly can’t wait for more! Five of the biggest stars and I recommend you go get this story as soon as possible!
Firstly, it's unique. I have never read anything like this before. It takes our human world and then the fantasy world and shows how it all "could" coexist, in a sense. It was spectacular! The character development for me was incredible! The love story, also so great! I am so glad I took the chance on this book, knowing it's the start of a series and I can't continue on. I usually wait to start series once they are almost all released because I have zero patience! Hope they make this into a movie even one day. Would love to see it brought to life. Highly recommend!!!!!
Praise for Touched, I absolutely adored this book. The relationship between Aeris and Callum was done absolutely perfectly! It didn’t feel rushed or unauthentic and this book had so many twists that I didn’t expect! I really hope there is a book 2 because I need to l know where else their relationship leads! I also loved how the authors blended the human world with the Fae’s world Laric. It felt like it was just outside their reach so close but so far. It added a lot of suspense that helped the story feel that much more intense! I can’t wait to read more books by this amazing team!
Touched is the first book in the Elemental Passions series and I could not believe the amount of effort that went into this book. TEN different amazing authors came together for this masterpiece, creating an amazingly unique world as one. You can't even tell which author wrote which segment, considering how seamlessly they wound it all together. Touched is an incredibly written fantasy romance adventure with some extra spice. I adored Aeris from page one, and ate up every single page that followed. I do highly recommend this book, and CANNOT wait to snag book two!
Touched: Elemental Passions Book One by Skye Turner, Sloane Nicole, April D. Berry, C.J. Pinard, Danielle Jamie, Darlene Tallman, Julie Morgan, Livell James, Machelle Hanleigh, Melissa MacKinnon
The first book in the Elemental Passions series. A little slow to start but still pretty good once you move past the first couple of chapters where you get to know the characters. This book was so intriguing to me since it was the product of a collaboration between 10 different authors. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a paranormal romance. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
Touched is the first book in this series and I cannot wait for book two! This is the story of Aeris - a naughty fae who leaves the safety of her home in Laric and explores earth and the human world. She finds her kindred Callum by accident when he can “see” her when no human should be able to. Callum turns out to be sylth and as a part of the story discovers his magical powers and helps to save Laric. The war has only just started so let’s see what book two holds?
This was an amazing book! Callus LeBlanc is an amazing detective who meets Aeris. Aeris is a Fae from the mystical realm of Laric. Faes and humans are not supposed to interact with each other which is why Fae’s tend to cloak themselves. Little does anyone realize that these two are meant to be together. Can they weather the storm that lies ahead and be able to be together? Follow along with me as we journey into the magical realm of Laric and watch as Callum and Aeris’ journey has just begun. There is so much going on in this story but I really can’t wait until book 2 comes out.
This book was ok for me. There was a lot going on and I felt a lot was introduced. I understand that in the first installment of a series there is a set up but I felt that some of it got lost in the plot. I enjoyed the characters and hope that the next book has a smoother flow for me. There were some interesting perspectives and ideas.
Set in New Orleans, Detective Callum LeBlanc learns there’s a whole other magical world hiding in plain sight. Aeris is the Fae female who has a connection to Callum, but human-fae relations are forbidden. Callum learns more about himself and his magical roots as they both fight against the forces of dark magic.
Aeris and Callum are magic! From the very moment they meet, you just know they will zing and when they finally act on it, it's beautiful. I love fated mate stories! And there's more than love going on here.
Paranormal danger is coming for all the fae and humans in New Orleans and Aeris and Callum, with the help of their family and friends, bring all the different fae together for the first time, in what seems generations, to protect Laric, home of the fairies, from the dark fae. This is just the beginning and i can't wait to see where it goes.
I am hoping that in the books following this, that we get more of Grams's story and more info on the prophecy; otherwise, I was left wanting for nothing more than MORE of this world!
This book was right up my alley! It was so good. I also thought it was cool that 10 authors contributed to this book. This is the first book of the series. Aeries is a fairy that likes to watch humans. Callum, is a police detective, who can see her. She remembers that humans can only see her if they are not 100% human. I cannot wait to read the next book.
The group of Authors who wrote this story did an incredible job! The story had everything you could want from a Paranormal romance including fated mates, war, a prophecy and more! The story hooked me in chapter 1 and I couldn't stop reading until The end! Spice Rating: 🌶🌶🌶
Good world building and a great start to a new series where the supernatural and natural collide! Can’t wait to continue reading about the characters we’ve been introduced to and their battles of good vs evil!
Book 1 of this new series does not disappoint!!’ Mystery, drama, danger, romance and paranormal…it has it all. The characters are interesting and the story will grab you from page 1. It’s exciting to see how so many authors come together and lend their voices to this exciting, fresh take on the paranormal. If you like romance, paranormal or paranormal romance this book is definitely for you♥️♥️
This was definitely a new genre for me. I don’t really read paranormal/mythical. But you throw romance in and I’ll give it a try. I’m sure glad I did with this one. It’s got some heat, comedy, drama and romance. When I was done reading it, I wanted more immediately! Aeris and Callum’s love is forbidden but oh, so sweet. Give this book a read, you won’t be disappointed!
All the authors said they were crazy! 10 authors, 10 different voices all in 1 book?!?! They said it was impossible but I say they achieved the impossible!! What a great read! Each story stands as its own and you can hear each author's voice in each story. And the cover?!? Omg loveeee! How can you go wrong, you get 10 stories all in 1 book?! That's the perfect gift! I absolutely recommend this analogy! I loved every story and I can't wait to read each one!
This book was so incredible!! Not only does it keep you turning the page, but you absolutely get to know each and every person in this story. It is amazing that it is wrote by 10 authors. Well done to the authors for working to create a great book.
I didn’t realize at the time of starting this novel that many authors came together to write this alluring, steamy, romance novel, and they all did a fantastic job. A love at first sight trope, fae, fantasy, and romance this novel had it all. It was a light, fun read that I’m glad to have read.
