Kaidan is my favourite character in the whole Mass Effect series, but unfortunately, Mass Effect: Foundation #4 failed to bring anything new to the table. Rather than delving into his backstory, we only got a rehash of a story he tells himself in the game, with some choppy additions that didn't heighten the story at all. This has been the first truly disappointing entry into the additional lore.

Even though this issue features one of my favorite characters in the entire Mass Effect trilogy, it did felt like there wasn't enough emotional depth in this particular story for me to establish a connection with the characters. The whole idea behind it, even though it's a story already told in the videogame, the actual visual execution of it feels way too contrived, it should have been more explored and developed in a way that it would be more... natural, I'd say. I think I'll just stick to the videogame version of it, told in first-person by Alenko himself.
