In the aftermath of a harrowing nightmare, seventeen-year-old Ella Windsor must face a chilling reality as the wounds from her dreams appear on her body. To add to her terror, she witnesses the intrusion of a nightmarish creature come to life, lurking on her high school campus.
Faced with no choice but to escape the nightmares and search for why she's the only one who can see them, Ella ventures into the mysterious Astral Realm. Alongside Ethan Wessex, a stunningly gorgeous Lieutenant of the Queen's Astral Guard with his own air of mystery, Ella discovers a realm on the brink of war.
Azvameth, the King of Nightmares, harboring secrets of his own, seeks dominion not just over the Astral Realm but every waking world. With the assistance of other dream walkers, including the devastatingly handsome Cole, a Fae Prince, and Rhea, a feisty Elven female, each armed with latent magic, Ella may prove to be the missing piece in destroying Azvameth and saving her precious Mortal and Astral Realms.
In this epic romantasy, Ella grapples with love and betrayal, torn between the mysterious Ethan and the potential true love of Cole, all while embarking on a journey of self-discovery and found family. The nightmares have awakened, but so has she.
I want to start by saying a huge thank you to the author for giving me an ARC of her work. I so wish it was for me :(
But nothing worked in that story for me…
The pace was way too fast for my liking (everything unravels in like 3 chapters, there’s no real world building and way too much info dumping).
The syntax was lacking and all over the place… sentences made little sense, there was way too many repetitions of the names of the characters instead of using pronouns or other words, and lots of anacoluthons.
But what really made me give up is the fact that I could connect every character and lots of scenes to their equivalent in Fourth Wing :( Bastian is so obviously Jack (mean boy wants to kill his fellow students and comes from a Dragon land), Rhea, the FMC’s best friend, was so much like Rhiannon, and Ethan, the lieutenant of her array (basically a quadrant) was like a paler version of Xaden… the concept of the academy training dream walkers to protect the realm against nightmare was also awfully like Basgiath with the dragon riders… :/
The prologue was so full of potential (i read it and told my boyfriend : oh, i’m gonna love this!), it was giving a Lord of the Rings (movies) vibe… and I really loved Cole, but that’s basically it.
Let it be clear; I’m not aiming to be mean. I just want to be honest, because i feel like it’s what i should be doing on that platform. I won’t be reviewing this arc on Instagram and wish the author the best, and am so glad people love her work!
I received an Arc of Dream Walker and I really appreciate it! I knew going into this book that it was YA but it reads as a very young YA story. The FMC, Ella, was likable. I think some older readers forget what it’s like to be 17. You make bad decisions, you pick the boy that isn’t good for you and it’s easier to make friends. I liked the trio of Rhea, Cole and Ella. Rhea has some funny one liners and is overall a good friend. Cole is charming, patient and reliable. That makes me not trust him at all! Haha
Now with the plot it did get predictable. You could see the “twists” coming, which nothing wrong with that in some cases. What I disliked about it was just the lack of development. The lack of urgency. The dream walkers were summoned because the nightmares were getting too strong and too close to the kingdom. They had to call upon the dream walkers as a desperate last effort to defeat the nightmare king (at least that’s how I interpreted the prologue) Once the dream walkers show up though none of them know how to really wield their magic or fight. The book takes us through months of training with small battles here and there. Like almost a year goes by when the “big” battle at the end happens. I would’ve liked to have seen a more immediate leap to the action.
I also did not like the relationship between Ella and Ethan. It felt forced, unnatural and just used as an afterthought for a plot device. Again, I get it, 17/18 you want to be with the bad boy that’s misunderstood by everyone but you. Still, it wasn’t a good development after everything with Cole. With all that being said I liked the premise and potential this story has. I will read the next book in hopes we see more character development, an expansion on plot and a challenging journey to find all the elements needed for the relic.
I’d first like to say that I LOVED this story even though I didn’t rate it higher. The Astral Realm and the nightmares escaping into real worlds was fascinating. The story of Ella was different in that she was a girl who grew up like us, going to high school and getting her black belt in hand to hand combat. 🤜 🤛 But quickly that changes to her dreams coming to life and meshing into one another which makes her feel like she might be losing her mind. 🫨
There were parts when Ella first travels to the dream land and saved by Ethan that just felt off. She had never known of any other world, but her own…and it was written saying that over and over which was a little unnecessary. Her sudden attraction to Ethan didn’t feel right either. ❤️ We understand she was saved by him in a way, but he seemed like a total ass and not one I would have grown attached to, but that’s just me lol 😵💫
I was rooting for Cole the entire time and knew he was the good one. 💕 Ethan just screamed run from the very beginning 😂 Cole knew how to take care of Ella and remember small details about the things she loved like the chocolate covered danish, which I adored! Thank you for sending this ARC to me and letting me be a part of your journey! 🤗

DNF at 65% I just couldn’t force myself to read anymore, zero plot development and very flat overall in terms of the characters and world building. The world is interesting it’s just not very vibrant or well explored. It felt like the book was just a mess of so many different things and ideas that just can’t all be properly used or explored. I think it had potential but ended up as just a group of kids wandering around doing not a whole lot.
This is very YA and not at all what I was expecting, if you’re looking for a very relaxed paced, teen book then I recommend it. But if you’re like me and prefer a fast paced, adult, epic fantasy then it’s not going to be your thing. In fairness I wouldn’t have read it if I had known it was YA and so young, with all of the characters in their teens. I love the more original and accurate fae depictions, so I had high hopes it would pick up in the beginning and be a nice original read, but I was sadly disappointed. The writing is okay but it gives no immediate introduction of the characters and no reason to care about them.
I also found this a little uncomfortable to read, with no diversity at all, every single character is a cis, white, straight person. Unless you count this scene with a blue/mossy person? Which also made me uncomfortable. “The woman was unearthly beautiful, and her smile was bright behind full lips. "You are newcomer," she said, heavily accented. It was an accent Ella couldn't place. "Um, yes," Ella replied with a half-smile. "This is tough place for newcomer," the woman scrutinised her for a moment, making Ella shift uncomfortably.”
The writing started out rough but did improve. It is quite plain but with a lot of weird phrasing thrown in, so you’d have “Her chestnut brown hair” followed by “Carrigan met it with disdain, bottom teeth protruding with the emotion” which just felt so odd. There were also a lot of over the top descriptions that just don’t work, “Her pulse instantly slowed upon seeing the male”, “Heart pounding not just in her chest, but the intense rhythm vibrated in her throat. She may just vomit”
It was honestly a little all over the place, with run on sentences, odd syntax, stiff dialogue, a lot of missing commas, speech marks and other minor flaws. However this is an ARC that was sent out really early so I’m assuming it’s not yet been edited and that will all be fixed by publishing.
All very direct and straightforward, which I found boring. Ella was also quite dull, irritating and shallow. I did like Rhea, she has a few funny lines and was probably my favourite character, but I really struggled.
Ella was living what she thought was a normal life. Until she started seeing her nightmares come to life, but no one else could see them.
Two men also came to slay the dark and twisted monsters, but no one could see them either. It turns out she's a Dream Walker who has the ability to see monsters from the dream world as well as cast magic.
This book sucked me right into the monster fighting, dark and broody men, and the strong female main characters. This is why I read. To get this feeling of adventure and escape everytime I read.
A big thank you to @brittanygossinwrites for approving me for this ARC!
This world is everything. If you're looking for a fresh romantasy with loveable characters, lots of action, a unique world, and fascinating magic this is it! I didn't know how I'd feel with it being a mix of urban fantasy and high fantasy but the author makes the combination seamless.
The plot is interesting and fast paced. There are twists and turns that had me ready to throw my Kindle. The author's writing style might be one of my new favorites. She made everything really easy to follow without it feeling too simple. I felt fully immersed in the world the entire time.
There's a found family aspect that had me tearing up. You can feel how much these characters love each other and it's beautiful.
I hope there are many more books planned in this series because I need to know EVERYTHING about this world and all the realms.
I was given this ARC in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Brittany for allowing me to be a part of your street team! You and the rest of the dream walkers are my found family! ❤️
Dream Walker follows Ella and fierce FMC who travels through the Astral Realm fighting nightmares with her found family. The nightmares have awakened, but so has she. I loved Ella and her fierce sense of self. Her best friend Rhea is also a strong female and I love their friendship. Not to mention the swoon worthy MMC. 😉 If you are a lover of Fourth Wing and Cruel Prince, you will love Dream Walker.
I was a part of the ARC team and was really excited to read this since I had followed along with Brittney’s journey in writing. I saw the early reviews and devoured them… needless to say I was hyped! Then I started reading and soft DNF’d at 50% tried again and finally fully decided to DNF at 54% It pains me so much to write this because I was really looking forward to it
THINGS I LIKED -The premise!! Like other reviewers the premise is what got me hooked a girl fighting monsters in her dreams? Then for real in a magical land? Hot fae?!? Let me at it! -the descriptions of the monsters are really vivid like nightmare fuel vivid Gossin’s writing shines in the battle scenes monsters disintegrating into ash among other things were pretty haunting I think if it made me scared she’s doing something right!
-I loved the dialogue between Ella and friends the jokes etc were so wholesome and reminded me of my high school days
WHAT I DIDNT LIKE (Again this pains me) -A few things felt unoriginal I know I can’t give this a fair shake since I didn’t read the whole thing but there seems to be scenes that feel like they were verbatim ripped out from throne of glass and fourth wing the training scenes along with the classroom scenes were dead ringers for stuff I’ve read before in those books it isn’t a fair complaint because I know authors can’t hold a copyright on places like school, training yards or weapons but I felt like I could put these things side by side and find little difference
-The writing Like other reviewers have pointed out the writing in the first half comes across clunky and a little awkward at points. This book reads like a first draft. I’m not a grammar nazi by any means but it was hard for me to get past it. Being this is an ARC and at the time I read so close to being published I didn’t expect so many errors. Though the writing does improve at points (like during fight scenes and what I read of the second half was pretty darn good) I really feel this could’ve been corrected with a few more read throughs and revisions my advice as both a reader and a writer to Brittany would be to not be in such a hurry to publish I really think this would have been excellent if given a little more love in revisions.
The pacing- Everything feels rushed I think Ella needed to be more fleshed out in the beginning and the relationships and friendships established and fleshed out a little more. Especially with Ethan!! I feel like she barely talked to him and it was already being set up for them to end up together
OVERALL This book needs a few more read throughs and edits. Giving this book the love it deserves will absolutely make it shine. I cannot in good conscience recommend this book in its current state. But I did hear this has a possibility of being published traditionally and Gossin has amazing potential from what I’ve read. I will look forward to her future projects and give Dream Walker 2 Stars.
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book from the author and I am so thankful to her for the opportunity! <3 All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Spice Rating: 1/5 - closed door.
I really really enjoyed this book! I will definitely be adding the published copy to my wishlist and watching for the next book! It was well done for a debut and while it wasn't perfect, I look forward to seeing how this author progresses both the story and as a writer.
I loved the idea of there being a dream world that connects the many many different realms together including ours, and I loved the idea of nightmares being something the dream walkers fight on the behalf of all the realms including those of the elves, fae, dwarves, vampires, spirits, demons, and dragons among others. It's such a unique concept and opens up so many possibilities for future books!
Ella is a really likeable character. She's a "normal" 17-year-old thrust into a world of magic and she always tries to do the right thing. I really liked that she had some "battle" experience because of taking jujitsu classes and that she was able to stand up for herself the entire time. I loved the found family trope and I loved seeing Ella come into her power and stand up for her new family. I thought the battle scenes were well done and interesting and I liked that that we learned about the astral/dream world right alongside Ella.
So why 4 stars? There were a few things that felt a bit rushed and predictable. I would have liked to see Ella's relationship with Ethan more fully fleshed out. I just couldn't understand her relationship with him at all. I would have liked to see more delving into what makes Dream Walkers unique (other than the training they receive). None of these things killed my enjoyment of the book though.
I really enjoyed this! Ella is thrust into a magical realm with no idea why or what is going to happen to her after just suffering a tremendous loss.
She really rolls with the punches and I liked that about her. She wasn’t whiny, she didn’t complain, she knew this was how it was going to be and she took to it. I love an FMC that revels in her destiny and grows!
The different races and magic was interesting especially how it relates to the dream realm and dream walkers.
Update from July 2025: I reread this book in preparation to read Book Two, Dream Chaser. I will say on a second re-read, it seems a bit more chaotic than I must have originally thought last year. I will not be "downing" my Review because I don't think that's fair. There is a huge info dump and so many things thrown at you it's hard to follow. Also the "love triangle" is not really developed and it leaves you wondering why she likes either MMC.
I will say I loved the horror-bent vibes and I felt that the beginning was really strong. With some fleshing out, this could be a really intriguing story. I am hopeful that the prose is more polished in Book Two!
July 2024 Original Review: I enjoyed this book but I will say what kept me from rating it 5 stars is it needs more editing. Several sentences did not make sense. In addition, the story seemed very predictable (which can be good in a way but not my style). I wish things were flushed out a little bit more the overall story felt rushed.
It was an entertaining read however and I'm curious to see what happens next!
Dream Walker captivates from the first page, seamlessly blending the ethereal realm of nightmares with the mortal world. The author's vivid storytelling weaves a mesmerizing narrative, keeping readers on the edge of their seats. The young protagonists face a unique and thrilling challenge that unfolds with every chapter. The intricate world-building and well-developed characters make this a five-star read, offering a gripping escape into a realm where dreams and nightmares collide.
*I was provided an ARC of this book by the author*
This book was SO. GOOD. I believe the author started out as an editor and then wrote her own novel — and it shows, in the best way. Honestly, it felt super put-together and the prose was fantastic. I really enjoyed the premise of the story and the world building was easy to understand. I felt that the pacing was off in some parts but the character development made up for that ten-fold. COLE FOR LIFE. BYE, ETHAN, BYE.
I am so thankful for this gifted arc from Brittany. It was such a uniquely fun story that reminded me of the Rise of the Guardians movie mixed with upper YA Harry Potter vibes plus 2 tablespoons of no-spice, broody romance.
In Dreamwalker, we follow Ella, a 17 year old (almost 18) who is suddenly able to control her dreams. And not only that, but now the nightmares are leaking into her world and killing humans. When she returns home one day to find her parents dead and her brother missing, she is forced to jump through a portal with a handsome stranger.
Ella is then thrust into a training regimen to protect the many, many realms from The Nightmare King alongside her two companions, Cole and Rhea. And to make things worse: her handsome stranger, Ethan, and best friend, Cole, are now battling for her affections. Her body tells her one thing but her mind tells her another. Together, the three of them discover not only several deceits but also Ella’s true lineage.
Dreamwalker is full of world building, horror-like creatures, chosen family, and angsty romance. Other tropes you may find are love triangle, forced proximity, YA, possible fated mates ☺️, one horse, closed door romance, open ending, hidden identities, strong FMCs, witty banter, a grumpy knight, and a cinnamon roll fae Prince.
This book blew me away. Yes, I signed up for the street team, but I knew nothing of this story, let alone writer. I have been looking for a book to get me out of my slump, and this book has fired me up. I could not put it down, reading it within 24 hours. Now that I’ve finished, I want to curl up with this book again. I feel the same way I felt after reading Harry Potter for the first time. Gossin knows how to tell a story, and she does it with finesse.
Dream Walker is an engaging start to the Realm of Dreams series. The story follows Ella, a young girl thrust from the mortal realm into the astral realm, where she must train as a Dream Walker to combat nightmarish creatures threatening multiple realms. The world-building is rich, featuring diverse magical beings like fae, elves, and dragons. Ella's journey is one of self-discovery and courage, making for a compelling read.
The book is a YA fantasy (on the younger side) with dark academia vibes, a unique magic system, and a strong found family theme. While some character interactions felt juvenile, the plot and magical elements kept me hooked. I look forward to seeing more character development and plot twists in the next installment.
I don't even know how I finished this brain melting audacity. It took me weeks because I could only stomach a few chapters at a time, then I needed a palette cleanser.
Firstly, the pacing was lightning speed, which made this book miss world building, character development, and any connection to the story. It was also marketed as NA but then changed to YA closer to publishing, so I nearly didn't read this but I had preordered so I wanted to still see the hype of it. (HOW IS THERE HYPE FOR THIS GARBAGE?)
The fmc just instantly becomes bestie with other dimension people? What is this, kindergarten? The huge plot twist was caught a mile away. The tropes were so predictable and poorly done it was cringe.
And the white washed cast of characters made me very uncomfortable. The one non-caucasian character that appeared came across written almost racist? How was that even allowed by the editors who worked on this book? How is that not a bigger deal to everyone else who read this book? Major problem of this world, clearly.
But the syntax was what made this book unbearable. The beginning was so rushed and the sentence structures were a mix of trying too hard and being nearly unreadable. How was this edited professionally? Why is this such a trend with indie authors? (The last three books I've read from indie authors were one star and seem to know each other on IG as they hype each other's books often.)
I think a slice of humble pie is in order. And a full book overhaul.
2.5 ⭐ - I did finish this and I'm only a 🤏 mad that I did. I think the premise was really good so I was hoping to love it and for it to get better but unfortunately for me, it did not. I am fully aware that certain fantasy tropes/elements will show up across different books, however in this there were very obvious parallels with fourth wing. I didn't love the world-building which felt like every single fantastical creature was thrown in just for fun. I also had this weird feeling while reading that the author couldn't decide if she wanted this to be YA or NA. The FMC is 17 (so, YA), but one of the love interests was 20ish? (so, NA). The story and the characters didn't make me feel anything which is why I couldn't quite give it 3 stars.
*Thank you to the author for providing me with an eARC. This review contains my honest thoughts and opinions.*
I knew that I’d enjoy this book before I had even started it, but I didn’t realise how much I would!
Dream Walker is a young adult fantasy, with closed-door spice. While I’m not the typical target audience (and usually prefer adult fantasies myself) I found the unique magic system, the world building, and plot captivating and easy to understand.
The book begins with Ella, the FMC, being forced to leave the mortal realm after a traumatic experience, and train to become a Dream Walker in the astral realm. The concept of the astral realm, with other mythical beings such as Fae, vampires, elves, dragons, and humans, coming together to train to fight against Nightmares was really interesting. The training sessions, both physical and practical, gave off a ‘magic school’ sort of vibe and I was there for it.
Ella’s self-discovery and desire to hone her Dream Walker ability throughout the book was great to read, and I wanted her to succeed. The found family trope sucks me in every time and I enjoyed the developing friendship between Ella, Rhea and Cole was lovely to read, and it made me smile.
It’s important to note that, being a YA fantasy novel where the FMC is 17, the dialogue and conversations between the characters may be considered ‘high school’ at times. I went in knowing this and found that it suits the 16-19 year old YA bracket quite well (in my opinion).
The pacing was fast, and contained some great battle/fighting scenes. The imagery used to describe the Nightmares was detailed and it felt like I was there. Although I would not have been fighting 😂 The ending did seem slightly rushed, and while I expected betrayal (mentioned as a trope), I didn’t see that exact scenario. I cannot wait to see how book 2 expands upon the ending, and I’d love to see more of the astral realm!
Thank you to the author for an advanced copy. This review is my honest, and voluntary opinion.
“Dream Walker” is a horror-bent Epic Fantasy with a touch of dark academia that gets your heart racing right from the very beginning. Gossin has a gift for capturing the essence of a scene & making it feel tangible without filling the page with superfluous details. This descriptive writing technique creates a fully immersive experience as we follow Ella on her journey of self-discovery. Each unfolding mystery only seems to uncover another, & Ella’s naïveté of the Realms becomes more dangerous than ever. I had trouble putting this book down & wound up staying up until 3am to finish it! There are a few twists sprinkled throughout the book, but the big twist near the end is truly shocking! I audibly gasped because I thought I had it all figured out, but I had gotten one detail very wrong. Needless to say, “Dream Waker” was a wild ride & I am greatly looking forward to the next installment. I must know what happens next for Ella & her friends!
Excellent read, with action right off the bat. I got an early copy of this book and loved it. There are themes of friendship, self-discovery, found family, romance, love triangles, and betrayal as well as epic plot twists. I loved the world-building and the approachability of the characters. This is a great book for a younger reader or someone new to fantasy. It was easy to become totally immersed and I was not ready for the book to end and look forward to what comes next.
The only reason this isn't a full 5-star read is that it's YA and I wanted to stay honest in my rating system. I always feel like I want more depth from the characters than this genre offers. That being said the book was really captivating and I would gladly read the rest of the series, as well as the upcoming adult romance title Unbound that the author is working on now.
I received an ARC, and here I am to deliver my review.
Dream Walker was a breeze, like a palette cleanser, after reading a lot of disturbing things. It is a well balanced YA Fantasy. It does have its share of romance, but I was caught up in the world-building and the magic that I didn't pay attention to it. Mostly because it didn't resonate with me.
I love the compelling lore behind the Astral Realm. Gossin uses other fantasy races, therefore adding more variety to the book. The family tree and secrets behind the true heir really absorbed all my attention and had me making my own theories.
I didn't connect with the romantic aspect of the book, nor with any character in particular, but I really liked Orion. In certain instances, the romance felt a little forced, but it's just my view of it. I know that others really liked it.
I would recommend this book for avid Fantasy YA readers.
I was super excited when I started this book because I really liked it and were it was going, but as I kept on reading, it felt like a lot of things were missing and not so well executed. There's also a scene in the book that reminded me SO much of Shadow and Bones and I don't know how I felt about it to be honest. I read a few other reviews saying that the story was not original because it simply felt like a replica of Fourth Wing, which I can't confirm since I haven't read it, but it just didn't seem like a coincidence that a scene read exactly like in Shadow and Bone.
Everything was really predictable as well, so it felt a little flat towards the end since I saw everything coming. Also, how can you have a twin brother that you love, yet you barely think of him for months and are not worried sick not knowing whether he is dead or not. For me that was one of my biggest issues. I would not have happily stayed in the Dream Realm when I didn't know if my brother was alive, safe or not...
𝐃𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐲 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬. For Ella, she quickly learns that the dream world is full of magic… and very real. Ella is whisked off to the Astral Realm as a Dream Walker, tasked with battling nightmares that very few people can actually see and navigating a whole new reality that she never knew existed.
𝐇𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫, 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐥𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞. She’s thrust into a whirlwind of vengeful rulers, unfamiliar magic, and uncovering deep-seated secrets. Throw in a love life that’s more tangled than my headphone wires, and you’ve got one heck of a ride!
𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐚 10 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐟 10. The plot was so unique and complex, but yet so easy to understand and follow. I loved the dynamics between each character and the strong found family aspect of the story. There were so many plot twists that I didn’t see coming, and I can’t wait to see where the next book goes!
Although I’m not the intended audience for this book, I do appreciate that this is a YA debut novel and I know a lot of work went into writing this book! The story is pretty straightforward, easy to understand and the characters are likeable enough too. There are a few plot elements that intrigue you and I can see how the ending will come as a surprise for some.
However, this book reads on the younger side of YA, which doesn’t suit me at all as a 28 y/o. Keep that in mind if you decided to read this book. It’s in no way a “bad” book, it’s just not as mature as I like my books these days. I’m sure 17 y/o me would have loved it though, and that’s why I decided to rate it 3 ⭐️
4.5 stars rounded up! I felt like out of the fantasy I’ve read, this brought something a little different and I was pleasantly surprised. Ella is a very likable character. We’re all rooting for her. The romantasy was so pure. I was even kicking my feet at one point! Loved the twists! Great debut novel. I will definitely be reading more by this author in the future. 🦄
I had a lot of personal things going on when I was reading this, so it took me a lot longer than I normally would. I see a lot of potential with the series. It reminded me of a combination of many different fantasy novels. The second half of the book was a lot more attention grabbing. I am looking forward to more.
Ella Windsor finds herself being harmed by nightmares only she can see. To find out why, she ventures into the Astral Realm escorted by Lieutenant Ethan Wessex, a lieutenant of the Queen’s Astral Guard. (Not only is Ethan dark, brooding, and mysterious but he’s also super hot, btw.) The Queen’s Astral Guard is in a war against Azvameth (King of Nightmares) because he seeks to rule the Astral Realm. Ella befriends a fae prince named Cole and an elven girl named Rhea while training together as Dream Walkers. Together, they discover that Ella may be the key to ending the war once and for all.
Dream Walker has faeries, elves, demons, unicorns, dragons, and more! I loved reading it from beginning to end. Brittany has a way with dialogue that gets me feeling like I’m in the book with them. I would highly recommend this to anybody who loves romantasy and is looking for a one off.
