I use this book to teach my beginner guitar students of all ages to read music. Its keeps things nice and simple with a few notes per string for each lesson. The then moves to more complicated rhythms with quarter and 8th notes and adds sharps and flats. Some of the first few melodies are a bit cheesy but that is due to having to keep things simple for beginners.
