Lorry Scott has faced a tumultuous life as a single mother and sole owner of her family’s historic hotel ever since her father’s death. Burned by her ex-husband’s betrayal and at odds with her teen daughter, Tammy, Lorry feels trapped in a web of emotion and isolation.
Her stress only compounds when her mother insists that the hotel needs new renovations. Lorry tries to resist, not wanting to dig their debt even deeper, but she’s unable to stop her mother before she hires a contractor named Tom Barnes. Tom is also a single parent and sparks fly immediately between him and Lorry as they fight over the direction of the hotel. Lorry wants to keep the history and tradition while Tom envisions a modern twist that could bring in new tourists—and more money.
With their visions at odds and Lorry’s daughter acting out more every day, Lorry struggles to balance her duty to the family hotel, her budding romance with Tom, and the fears of her daughter making the same mistakes she did.
In this tale of second chances, unexpected connections, and the challenges of parenthood, Lorry must overcome her past and open her heart amidst the backdrop of Marco Island’s sun-kissed beaches.

Recommend this book to anyone who likes romance and mystery. It’s the story of Tom and Lorry Scott. Tom and Lorry are at odds with each other. Tom over sees the updating of Scott House and the additions to it. Lorry is against the constitution being done, and therefore against Tom. They are forced to work together in spite of their feelings. Their parents, Tom’s father and Lorry’s mother are dating and are drawn into an event that occurred several decades earlier, none of which they knew about. They are receiving threatening notes which they don’t know why. Tom and Lorry don’t know about the notes until Tom’s cousin, who is a FBI agent stepped forward and told them the truth about who he was and why he was in Marco Island. Things come to a head soon when Lorry is asked to come to his parents house to speak about their daughter’s future funding for college. Lorry is surprised about his interest in such things but goes to meet with him. He takes her hostage for his parents who want to find out where the hidden treasure that they stolen was hidden. They feared it would be found and they would lose it. In the process Lorry is shot, but his parents are captured. In the end Tom and Lorry have their HEA.
The third book in the series focuses on Lorry who is actually the oldest of the Scott sisters. She is running the family hotel along with her mother since her father died. Pat, her mom, more less forces some renovations to the hotel that Lorry doesn’t want. Lorry butts head continually with the contractor and is rude and discourteous to him. Tom, the contractor, tries to avoid her. But there a secret twist here that makes this story even more intriguing…..Lorry has inadvertently acquired an email friend when she is digging through her dad’s emails. There is are odd things that start to happen to Lorry, her mom Pat and Tom’s father, James. Tom and Lorry are brought together in a truce to help their parents. I will leave it at that for you to read the story and find out what happens😀. I received a complimentary copy of this book and chose to write a review.
Sister Lorrie is very bull headed where men are concerned. Tom, her contractor, seems to strike her expressly negatively each time they run into each other, literally. She is attempting to manage the Scott hotel, along with doing for others which is a full plate. Our author has spiced this up a bit with a 40 yr. old mystery from a local bank robbery, which involves their family. The family renovation seems to have woken the sleeping giant, i.e. the bank robbers. Much trouble is experienced in this episode of sister, Lorrie. You will definitely find enough excitement in this read. Be sure to get a chance to read this tale to keep up with the sisters.
I love a series where each book is a complete story but ties into other books in the series. In this book Lorry is frustrated with the renovations being done at the hotel and she is constantly butting heads with the contractor. Tom. Then things start taking a strange turn when Lorry,'s mom is mugged and then Tom's dad's house is broken into. Add to the mystery is Lorry's ex, Grant returns to Marco Island and Tom's cousin,TJ also comes to the island. Then Lorry starts getting threats, and it comes clear that the mystery is about a 40 year old mystery. Can the mystery be solved? Can Lorry and Tom come together or let everything drive them apart?
Lorry has her hands full, what with the renovations of the Scott Hotel and her teenage daughter Tammy. The last thing she needs is more family drama, but drama and mystery and romance is what she gets. Why was her mother mugged? Why are the cryptic notes about and who is sneaking into her apartment while she’s sleeping?
Follow along as Tom and Lorry unravel a 40 year old Marco Island mystery and fall in love in the process.
Disclaimer: I am part of the ARC team. I received this book from the author, voluntarily read and reviewed it.
It is Lorry’s turn for some drama. Marco Island is the place for drama. Pitted against contractor Tom, sparks (of the negative kind) fly. When the pair discover Lorry’s mom and Tom’s dad are in a relationship, danger sets in. A robbery 40 years ago comes to light, as threats are made to recover the loot. It seems Lorry also has a stalker as photos of her in her apartment are discovered.
Whose life is in danger? How does Lorry’s ex husband Grant, and Tom’s cousin TJ fit into the scenario?
Thank you to the author for this ARC. This review is my honest opinion.
“Is it just me, or do you also feel like you’re caught in the middle of a mystery movie?”
Lorry Scott and Tom Barnes are *not* friends. Tom is overseeing the renovation of Scotts Hotel on Marco Island and a pain in the butt to Tom. However, something or someone seems to targeting their lives ones and it echoes of past incidents 4 decades earlier, almost exactly.
Yes, it reads like a movie but who knows what is going to happen? And why? Will the renovation ever be completed? Will Lorry be open to some rework on her heart? And just who is TJ Bean?
This is a fast paced story that grips you at the start and literally never lets go. Brava Rose Ryan! Highly Recommended 5/5

A fantastic book in an equally fantastic series. I love the tension and the growing respect between Lorry and Tom as they deal with all the emerging crises. The havoc that Lorry's ex plays in her life is significant and surprisingly, brings the book to a unique ending. I highly recommend this book and series.
I read this book as part of an advance reader team and am providing my honest opinion.
necessities and mysteries Lorry and Tom´s story again shows us that life is full of struggles: renovation is necessary to keep customers coming but your visions have to match your budget, being a single parent isn´t exactly a bonus for a budding relationship and with thousands of questions about a bankrobbery from decades ago the reader surely doesn´t get bored. I received this book as a review copy.
This is Lorry and Tom's love story. These two loathe each other but need to deal with each other because of the construction at the hotel. Both Lorry and Tom have been having an email exchange for over three years. This email exchange has these telling each other things no one else know. When two incidents occur with their families a mystery is discovered. This is a quick and easy read. The characters are likeable.
Lorry and Tom have been butting heads over the renovations at the Scott Hotel. Then, her mother is mugged and his father’s house is broken into. What is going on? This one is a little different with all the twists and turns. Who is breaking in and watching Lorry sleep? A fantastic page turner you shouldn’t miss! I received an advance copy of this book from the author, however, I voluntarily wrote an honest review. All opinions are strictly my own.
I’m reading this series and while it hasn’t been a favorite, it’s ok. Until I got to this one. I was lost, too many names, too many plots, no direction in this story. I finished it, but it rambled until the very end. 2 people who don’t like each other, random. Teenagers drifting in and out. A 40 year old bank robbery, more random characters. Loot? Hidden? Sorry but cheesy. I could have skipped this one and been happier.
This is Book 3 in the saga, & the best to date. It was full of gripping Suspence that kept the pages turning! Exciting & interesting. Highly recommend this series & this book in particular. Looking forward to Books 4-6 I received an Advanced Reader Copy from the author, & I am writing a voluntary honest review.
Lorry had to step in and head-up the renovations for the Scott Family Hotel as her sister Steph just had twins and was out on Maternity leave. She had to work with the Construction Company owners son Tom and they did not see eye to eye on anything.
Let's see how Rose ties all of this together. Great story , beginning to end.
This family continues to captivate us. Lorrie who is the oldest of the 6 sisters is not happy with all the changes her mother is having done to the family Inn and takes this out on Tom, the contractor working on the hotel. Little does she or Tom know how much their lives are going to be entwined. We are going to find surprises and twists. I really enjoyed this chapter in their lives.
Lorry Scott being a single mother and owner of a hotel has a lot to deal with. Betrayal by her husband and her teenage daughter being at log-a- heads with her . She hires Tom Barns a contractor for alterations to be done to the Hotel. There is a lot of friction between them at first. A great read. I received this ARC copy and leave a honest review. I recommend this book to other readers.
Lorry is overseeing the family business as her sister is off on maternity leave. She has to deal with Scott the son of the man doing the construction. They don’t see eye to eye making them at odds a lot. But gradually they begin to change as things are looking up for them! Will it become more? I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Get ready for this one! You won't be able to put it down once you start reading. It's full of mystery and a second chance at romance. Amazing and interesting storyline/plot with so many twists and turns with such strong characters. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series! I received an advance copy and this is my honest review.
Lorry is against the Scott Family hotel expansion. Tom is the architect that she taken all her anger out on. Lorry’s daughter Tammy blames her for the divorce. Will Lorry realize that not all men are cheaters and the hotel expansion is for the best of the hotel business.
This is a really cool novel that reminds me so much of the movie You've Got Mail. Only it has more intense and interesting situations in it. Tom and Lori who don't get along come together to help solve a mystery and a crime. It's so great.I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Enjoyed! Lotty is stressed enough about her relationship with her teenage daughter and new hotel renovations her mother insisted on without adding in Tom, the contractor, and their growing attraction and a family mystery. Received a free copy and am posting an honest review.
I just loved this story! A love/hate relationship, erratic teenagers, a glorious island setting and a clean romance with a it of intrigue! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
Lorry and Tom did not hit it off well. They were archenemy. Lorry didn't want to make major changes to the hotel that her mother wanted and she held that against the architect, Tom. They had a mystery that brought them together. Was a great story.
I really be joyed the first two books in this series and now see that the authors are writing about beach of the sisters as well as the mom. The story was okay, just not AA appealing AA book 1 & 2.
I loved the first book in the series but this was topped it for sure. I love thrillers and this gave me the perfect mix of the love stories I don’t typically go for and mystery. Great book!
I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I enjoyed the hotel setting and the struggles Lorry goes through. Loved the mystery aspect of the book, great reading.
