I Want to Dance With Somebody is Book 2 of the 80s Mixtape Series. It's a short and steamy, somewhat cheesy, frenemies-to-lovers, mid-life, second-chance romance. Amy and Jason were a couple in high school. She tutored Jason, and they went from friends to lovers. He ended up getting a full college scholarship for football because of her help. They went to their senior prom together and gave their v-cards to each other, only to be torn apart the next week. Now, 35 years later, they are 53 and back for their 35th high school reunion. Amy is a recently divorced lawyer after 25 years of marriage. Jason is a former pro-football player turned businessman. The two have a rocky initial meeting but then realize feelings are still there. Amy always thought Jason humiliated her then, only to realize differently. Now that they have found each other again, who is trying to tear them apart again? Will they get their second chance? Wow, these people were evil and vicious!!! Our couple did have great chemistry, and it was fun reliving the 80s. Our couple does get a great HEA after a great deal of drama. I loved it!!.

The main characters here are Jason and Amy. Amy a cheerleader helps Jason the football player with his studies as he's falling behind. Can what happened after prom night tear these two young hearts apart?
35 years later class reunion will they get their HEA? Or will their old classmates keep them apart?

Excellent story that had me engaged from the start, it was so good I didn't want to finish it.
I hope that Sylvia will have books to come for the secondary characters who deserve their own HEA. Fingers crossed.
I highly recommend this book to all.

A bit cheesy, but full of nostalgia!

So the 80's are my fave decade, so this series is totally rad!

Amy and Jason return for their 35-year HS reunion in Crystal Cove and can finally clear the air over the incident two weeks before graduation.

Amy was humiliated and felt that Jason was to blame. While I understand her feelings at the time, it's also sad that she held onto this grudge for so long when he was innocent all along. BUT Jason does have some actions in his past that he is worried about Amy finding out about, so there is tension and cause for doubt that could derail these two rekindling their first love.

There's prom, food fights, karaoke, and lots of 80's tunes to keep us entertained. It will be fun to see who is reunited next.

I truly enjoyed this book! The Author takes you from present day back to the last few weeks of the couples high school senior year. How a cruel joke can tear them apart and their lives take on a different trajectory. They both followed the path they had set but they had done it differently than planned. Their dreams were shattered on Prom night and they lost 35 years due to a mean and hurtful trick.
One woman set out to destroy them and gain what she wanted. Problem is she still wants the one thing she never got after that prank. Now will the truth come out? Can Amy and Jason go back to where they were in love? Class reunions are not always what they are cracked up to be. But this one might just prove the one to bring about a change in their lives! Find out in this book how they work through the past!

This was the first book I have read by Sylvia McDaniel. I really enjoyed Amy and Jason. Amy has some trust issues to over come and Jason helps her to over come those. This book will make you smile, gives you a little mystery and some spice. I think the characters and story were well written. This was a quick read which was perfect. There were a lot of repeated moments in this book that I wish more story would have replaced but otherwise this was a really good book. I would recommend this book. This was the second book in The 80's Mixtape Series that I have read and so far I'm liking this series.

Back in the eighties Amy and Jason were a couple in love and on prom night she wanted to go all the way with him so they did and the next school day her panties were on the goal post at school and that was the day she broke up with him. Thirty five years later she was a divorced mother of a daughter and Jason was a retired football player from the NFL. They all showed up for their high school reunion and now they both want to find out who stole her panties and broke them up and as they investigate they rekindle their love they are surprised who did the deed.

A complex cast of characters as they meet for their thirty-fifth class reunion that is scheduled over a several day period acting like they're still in high school even though they're now in their fifties. It's a case of who did the awful deed to Amy back in high school that Jason got blamed for all these years, but the true culprits are not finished. They will do anything to keep Amy and Jason apart. A real romantic suspense that will keep you on the edge of your chair thinking over the list of classmates to solve this mystery.

Now it's the thirty fifth school reunion and Amy is supporting her friend, Kim.
Jason is determined to explain to Amy, but she doesn't want to listen. He's a really nice man trying to right a wrong!

I enjoyed reading this quick second chance romance. In high school these two dated til some people tried and succeeded in breaking them up. Thirty something years later they meet again at their reunion and feelings are still there. I love how Amy and Justin investigate and try to find out who was responsible for their breakup and ready to call them out. While also rekindling their love.
This is the second book I read from this series.

It's high school reunion time and Jason and Amy reconnect. He was notorious for posting girls panties on goal post whereas Amy was the school's good girl until she connected with Jason. Prom was a pivotal time for both of them, but then she felt he betrayed her. They go their separate ways to college and start their careers. Years later at a high school reunion they are reunited, but will their past be a hindrance. This is a fun book and a love story between two people separated by a misunderstanding or viscous act by a classmate. I highly recommend this book.

This one is a new author to me but I got it because the premise was interesting and it was part of the 80s mix tape collection. I was pleasantly surprised as it kept up to its promise. I enjoyed reading about the second chance and also a trip down memory lane into the 80s. So many nostalgic memories!! I thoroughly enjoyed the book!.

Jason was Amy's first on their prom night. But thing went downhill the next day. Amy and Jason reunite 35 years later at their high school reunion. They cleared up what happened that time they now only have to find out who was the one that wanted to keep them apart. Will they get a second chance at love. This is a great must read story.

This was my first book by Sylvia McDaniel, and I enjoyed reading it. I Want To Dance With Somebody was a romantic second chance story with a little mystery thrown in. Jason and Amy fell in love in high school. A prank broke them apart. They meet up 35 years later at a class reunion. Can they make things work, or should it be left in the past?

So many reasons to love this story! I loved it was a second chance romance and that it was for an older couple. I felt sad though it took 35 years for them to reunite and find out who their enemies are!
The story is well written, fast paced with lots of angst, drama, passion, twists and turns. There's an HEA
