Thank you Melissa Baldwin for the chance to read an ARC of I Think He Knows?!! This book is a delight! I am absolutely in love with Serena and Cam. Their friendship is wonderful! I can't believe I missed book one in this series, but you bet I am going to go back and read Eliza and Marco's story!
I love that this takes place in a school. The love interests are colleagues: a kindergarten teacher and a phy ed teacher. Things get complicated when someone from Cam's past starts working at school with them.
My only quibble is that when the two teachers go out to dinner, the first thing they do is talk about how much they love teaching. They have been friends for a long time, and have hung out often. I love teaching - but when my colleagues and I go out to dinner, we do not have this conversation every time we talk. This wasn't enough to make me dislike it, but it did make me giggle.
Selena is a stellar kindergarten teacher who is crushing on Coach Cam, the gym teacher. When someone from Cam’s past gets a job at the school, all bets are off. There’s nothing more gossipy than the staff of a prestigious elementary school.
This story is told completely from Selena’s point of view and I would have loved a peek into the mind of this enigmatic man. It’s great to see how competent Selena is with the kids and how they adore her, yet she struggles with some insecurities in the dating world, making her feel relatable and realistic.
Cam is a great guy and more than a little mysterious, and that man moves slower than cold molasses set outside in a mid-winter blizzard. But it was fun to watch his layers slowly peel away. I was urging him along in my mind and couldn’t wait to see how all the drama would shake out. The friend groups are the icing to this sweet romcom and all-in-all, it’s a fun and entertaining read.

I read this because my current reads are too heavy to read before bed. I need fluffy and mindless, but the well of well-written and constructed fluffy/mindless has run dry. The characters don’t have personality, neither the conflict or romance had umph, and people don’t talk like the characters talk.
I absolutely jumped at the chance to read an ARC of Melissa Baldwin’s newest book coming out on March 27th 🗓️
This can absolutely be read as a standalone but I HIGHLY recommend reading the first in this series - Can We Talk?
This was such a fun easy read! A slow burn romance with the most likable characters that you’ll find yourself rooting for and relating to throughout the whole book. I especially loved seeing the progression of relationships spill over from the first book which again, makes me suggest that you read it before diving into this one 🙂
I’m looking forward to reading more by this author and dare I ask, will we get a third installment of this series 🤔😁
If you’re looking for a sweet, slow burn, workplace romantic comedy with fun Swiftie references (IYKYK) this is the book for you! Thank you again to the author for allowing me the chance of an early copy of this one 🫶🏼
I absolutely adored this book! It was my first read by Melissa; and I look forward to reading more! I enjoyed all the Taylor Swift Easter Eggs in the book, and absolutely loved the setting of the Elementary School at Eastern Lake Elementary. I used to be a second grade teacher, and Melissa’s vivid descriptions instantly brought me back to the classroom while reading.
Cam & Serena were extremely likable characters, and their slow burn relationship felt very very real which I enjoyed. Melissa nailed the dynamics of friendships/gossip/relationships within the School community setting, and set a perfect realistic precedent for what friends to lovers looks like.
I only wish that the epilogue had been a bit longer, and talked more about how Cam and Serena’s relationship progressed after the book ended. I am also hoping that next in the friend group to get a story is, Jess and Leo? 😍 Overall, this was a sweet and heartfelt RomCom that was such an enjoyable and cozy read.

Synopsis: Serena is a Kindergarten teacher who has been hopelessly crushing on Cam the PE teacher for a while now. When things finally start to head in the right direction for them she is so excited and hopeful. But the excitement is short lived because someone from Cam’s past has just been hired at the school. And she has made it her mission to make it harder than ever for Cam and Serena to continue exploring their relationship. Who will Cam choose?
Serena Black likes to joke that she has 17 children. That's a great way to run a date off and quite the conversation starter. Serena is a kindergarten teacher doing a job she loves in a school she loves, even amongst the chaos of a kindergarten classroom filled with glitter, glue and peanut butter. The second part of her plan is to find the man of her dreams. She thinks she has already found him right in the halls of the elementary school. Cam is the PE teacher and a dreamboat. They have been dancing around each other with flirtations for two years. Her friend convinces her she needs to take the bull by the horns and ask Cam out on a date. She is pleasantly surprised when he accepts. When they go out, she realizes they have more in common than she realized. Things are moving along well until a monkey wrench gets thrown into her plans. A dark shadow from his past threatens her new relationship with Cam.
This is a wonderful romantic comedy with some seriously funny scenes. The characters were fun to read about and follow along with. Serena is surrounded by some pretty cool friends. I loved their sense of closeness, even to the point that one of her man friends offered to have a talk with Cam like a big brother taking up for his little sister. If you enjoy fun loving romance and comedy, you will enjoy this one.
Thank you to the author for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I've yet to read a Melissa Baldwin book I haven't loved and I Think He Know's? is no exception. This is the second book in the Question Series but can absolutely be read as a standalone, I've yet to read book one 'Can We Talk?' myself but I definitely will be.
This was a really fun easy read that I devoured in a couple of sittings, a slow burn workplace romance with the most adorable likeable characters, I loved the relationship between Serena and Cam and watching it slowly develop. The author also nailed the friendship/ work colleagues dynamics, the conversations, banter and gossip between them all is actually how it goes in my own life. Something I really enjoyed in this read was the author descriptions of the Elementary School and Serena's life as a kindergarten teacher, I really felt like I was there in the classroom and it added so much to the story.
Finally, apparently there's a few very fun Taylor Swift easter eggs throughout this book, now I apologise sincerely to all you Swifties but I'm not a Taylor fan so I didn't really get them but regardless I still adored this book and would highly recommend.
I received an Advanced Copy from the author in exchange for my honest review, all thoughts are my own.
An adorable slow burn rom-com from my favorite series - the question series! In "I Think He Knows?", Serena and Cam are both elementary school teachers, at the same school, and have been flirting with each other for awhile. Serena finally decides to take a chance on progressing things with Cam and is met with all kinds of obstacles, including some family/friend drama. Our main characters are very relatable and sometimes the conversations felt like a flashback from my own past. The ending of this book is perfection!! Also, Eliza and Morgan from, "Can We Talk?" often make an appearance. It is a quick fun read, that I couldn't put down.
Melissa is a master at creating realistic, strong, positive female relationships. Serena and Eliza are ride-or-die besties and their friendship is GOALS! This is one of the reasons I always come back to her books - her ladies are always there for each other!
My last note is that I hope there will be a third book about Leo and Jess (IYKYK)...PLEASE!
"I received an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own and were voluntarily given."
LOVED this adorable slow burn, friends to more, workplace romcom! This is book #2 in Melissa Baldwin’s Question Series, but you can read it as a standalone (as I did)… I will definitely be heading back quickly to read her first book because I enjoyed this one so much! Serena and Cam are the two MCs, and both are teachers at the same elementary school. Serena and Cam have clearly (and obviously to many) had feelings for each other for quite some time, but neither one has made a move outside of the friend zone. It just so happens that Serena is ready to make her move JUST as a woman who has a past with Cam shows up to start working with them. I absolutely love the friends who are more like family feel that this book had. I can’t wait to read more stories featuring the side characters so I can learn all about them! Serena and Cam’s focus on the treatment of each other through the good, the bad, and the ugly situations in this book is very relatable and feels 100% genuine. I credit this to the author’s ability to depict their deep friendship connection so thoroughly to her readers. I highly recommend this closed door romcom to anyone looking for a sweet, slow burn, friends to more, workplace romance that will warm your heart!
Serena is a kindergarten teacher whose students and coworkers absolutely adore, so she has had a crush on the PE teacher Cam for two years, and with the help of her friend she finally get the nerve to ask him out on a date, he agrees then he cancels.. then you find out his ex fiancé is the new assistant principal at the school both of y’all teach at.
The romance between Cam and Serena is a slow burn workplace romance. I felt the relationship progression was very realistic especially since they were in a school setting, and speaking I loved how the author touched on how much work being a teacher is, and how even on your off day you’re still working… it’s truly non stop.
Over I really enjoyed this book, I read it in less then a day, Now I will say this book was a four instead of a five because Jess was a little annoying with the whole crush on Leo thing.. she just gave off a teenage with a crush vibe, that I wasn’t a fan of, but luckily so many other good things were happening in the book!
Serena and Cam have been flirting with each other for a while now, but their relationship finally starts progressing to a romantic level. Both are teachers at an elementary school, Serena as a kindergarten teacher and Cam as PE coach. But, Cam's ex suddenly comes on the scene as the new assistant principal, creating drama and insecurities in their relationship. This is another feel good rom-com by Ms. Baldwin that never fails to capture my attention, with lots of infatuation, love, solid friendships, and family support, with lots of drama too! Although it's perfectly fine to read as a standalone, many of the characters are from another book by this author, so if you are familiar with her work you will enjoy keeping up with these old friends, resulting in a wonderful page turning book that is hard to put down!
I love teacher books as my husband and several others in my family are elementary school teachers. I always enjoy hearing the stories, but the stress is real some days too.
Serena is the fun kindergarten teacher while cam is the favorite P.E. Teacher. There are sparks between them, but whatever is brewing is at a snail’s pace. The slow pace finally has an explanation when the new assistant principle is hired. There is a past with Coach Cam. We get to hang out with Eliza and Mason, be apart of a healed sister relationship, and be with a close teacher family. We always get a HEA with her books!
This is my first book in this series and it was so much fun. I loved the idea of this book, a darling Kindergarten teacher has a crush on the gym teacher. And she thinks he knows!
Serena is sweet and fun to be around. She’s someone I would want to be friends with. And everyone loves her. Cam is charming and mysterious at first. I enjoyed getting to know him through Serena’s eyes.
This is a closed door, only kissing entertaining romcom. With lots of heart, and enduring, enjoyable characters. I can’t wait to read another book from this author.
I received an eARC from the author. All views and opinions are mine.
Thank you Author Melissa Baldwin for the ARC! This book will feel like a cozy hug! Sweet and comfy like putting on your favorite pair of PJ's and chilling out on the sofa. Kindergarten teacher Serena has liked PE coach Cam for the longest time. Her best friend insists that Serena ask him out. As the two spend more time together, obstacles start showing up left and right. Things like Cam's ex getting a job at the school where they work and his parents still being enamored with her. No biggie, right? Will these two be able to continue their blossoming romance? FYI this book is more sweet than spicy but I was perfectly ok with that.
This was a sweet slow burn romance among two school teachers who work at the same school. It was fun to see how their friendship developed and how they met the obstacles in their path together.
This is part of a series with reoccurring characters. You can read it as a standalone but may find spoilers for previous books.
Melissa has an engaging writing style that draws you in immediately. She can always be depended on to deliver a charming, clean story.
We first met Serena and coach Cam in Can We Talk but you can read this as a standalone. Melissa writes great rom coms with characters you will fall in love with. This book has a workplace romance, fantastic friends and a few crazy family members. I think we could do with a book 3 in the series, how about it Melissa?
This book was great with Serena having so many things to work through with school and Cam and all of it her friends and their problems. With Cam's ex coming to work at their school. Everything worked out well in the end. I look forward to reading her next book.
Serena has had a crush on Coach Cam for a while. All her friends know it. Coach does not. When Cam does get a clue, a persistent roadblock, a blast from the past, shows up. Other exciting relationships are also afoot. The school coworkers are always interesting, and all her friends always have her back. The romance is sweet and so is the ending.
Cam and Serena are colleagues at the same elementary school and their story felt like I should park myself in the hall and watch all the longing and drama unfold. Swoony sigh. It was just SO fun! Loved it!
I really liked this series and it’s an improvement from some of the authors older books with regards to writing quality. However I have 7 highlights of terrible edits. Either spelling errors or missing words.
Sadly, the secondary characters have more presence than the MMC, who is seriously underdeveloped. There was very little interaction between the MMC and FMC, either.
I enjoyed the second book in the I question series by @mbaldwinauthor . It came out just a couple weeks ago!
I really liked the family feel of the teachers of the school and doing outside activities together. The pizza and sugar nights were still my favorite, and the casual way Serena and Cam started hanging out.
I was a little disappointed in the Taylor Swift references I kept seeing in reviews, and I was expecting a lot more than there was. It also was a little too much of a slow burn than I personally enjoy.
Overall still a great book that I had a hard time putting down. And I loved seeing Eliza and Mason in this book and the timeline between Can We Talk? and I Think He Knows? flowed really good and felt seamless
This is the second book in the question series and is just as good as the first one. Serena is a kindergarten teacher and Cam is the gym coach in the same school. They've been flirting for a long time and Serena finally makes a move. There are a few obstacles in their path, but they work through as teachers and in their relationship. Eliza and Mason from the first book make appearances and it is great to see them again. This book is hard to put down---great characters, realistic plot and fantastic relationships. The female friendships are especially nice to see as they are all so supportive. Everyone needs friends like these! I am guessing that Leo and Jess will be next and I can't wait!
