Since I was a little girl, I’ve made up stories. I would lay in my bed at night and before I knew what a trope was, I would make up these trope filled stories. Boy sees girl, boys falls for girl, boy saves girl….happily ever after. As I got older, the stories turned steamier and more intricate, but the basics never changed.
Now, my books are still full of romance but the naughty bits are naughtier, my hero’s are obsessed alpha types and my heroines are quirky, real women who come in all shapes and sizes.
So, sit back, banish the real world and get lost in some over the top romance with a heaping helping of hot. xoxoxo
Like, I'm all for the role-playing you know. But, when the role-play scenes exceeded the normal let's-talk-like-we're-human scenes, I guess, it turned me off. Because you know, smut is better when we have chemistry or at the veeerrrrry least, character establishment and better yet, development.
But hey, why am I looking for character developments in a book clearly about a stepfather fucking his stepdaughter huh?
Dani Wyatt concludes her Wanting What's Wrong series with an incredibly sexy and fiery forbidden romance between a former step-father and the woman he had been obsessed with for years. Ramses might the author's most intense and unhinged hero that she has ever written. At one point, even I was uncomfortable with what was happening but there was no denying that the off-the-charts smut was simply excellent—Dani certainly delivered this time! The story features many tropes including a forbidden and taboo romance between a former step-father by name and his step-daughter, forced kidnapping, dub/con, and forced marriage. It was all very shocking and the twist blew me away. I didn't see it coming until the very end. Ramses and Bijou's relationship was unexpected but it checked all my boxes in terms of a quick and all-consuming dirty romance.
“She is my life and my possession, and I take care of what’s mine.”
In the end, Ramses and Bijou's passionate and crazy romance was the perfect conclusion to the series and had everything I wanted from Dani Wyatt. This is my favorite book in the series—even topping my former favorite, Step-Hero. I was simply fascinated by Ramses and his all-consuming obsession with his former ward. Fans of Dani Wyatt, Jessa Kane, and Alexa Riley will be pleased with this book. Step-Crush can be read as a standalone because the stories are not interconnected with each other. I'm excited to see what the author has in store next because this one captured what I loved most about her stories and characters—the crazier, the better. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a short and smutty read featuring an older hero who is completely obsessed with his little lamb, going so far as to kidnap and wed her in the process.

Where do I even start? Dani Wyatt’s 152-page novella was packed, fast-paced, and full of the best smut. I was calling five stars before I even finished the story. I wasn’t expecting several of the moments, and I usually pick up on things, but “Step-Crush” I didn’t––it was a great read.
I'm all for a good taboo book, but this book came across as cringey. Now, I knew this book had a CNC theme to it, but I just couldn't get into the fact that it gave off grooming/predator vibes.
I’m absolutely crushed that the Wanting What’s Wrong series has concluded, but Wyatt went out with a bang (or rather, several hehe)! Step-Crush had me enthralled by page one and even managed to throw me for a loop a couple times.
This story was really fun, interesting, and different. Ramses and Bijou are spectacular together. This story takes you on one wild journey. You don’t want to miss this one. The writing and flow of this book is off the charts. I beyond recommend this story.
Let me strart this by saying mmc's name is Ramses. It would have been better if you had named him Ramzy. I wouldn't have cringed as much. Oh, and the fmc's name is Bijou. and if you speak french and know the meaning of the word (Jewelry) you'll feel as i felt. More cringe P.S: this is my personal opinion on this novella, again, i'm not telling you not to read, i'm just pointing out the things that irritated me and gave me the ick as a reader. This is not my first time reading this author, i did like some aspects of the first book in this series but this one and step-santa just woke this rage in me
Before i say anything else, and before i yuck on someone's yum, because this book seem to be many people's yum for some god knows why reason i cannot seem to grasp, i want you, the person who will be reading this review and taking good advice from it, to contemplate the following verses in this book:
In many ways, she’s more like me than her mother. More my daughter than hers, even if we’re not biologically related.
Why was this necessary to mention???? what's the relevance to the story, is it supposed to make us feel anything other than disgust
I’m going to fuck that teasing little gash and that ass. She’ll suck my cock until she vomits as I shove it down her sweet little throat.
Why is this also mentioned???????? The need to make things disgusting
“I could cut your cherry from you.” His eyes lock on mine, the sun a halo around his head as I choke on the sob that tightens my throat. “I think there’s a medical term for cutting this tender flesh right here…” He rests the razor-sharp blade just inside me as I draw a breath and hold it, shaking, silently praying for this to be a bad dream. “What I would do would be a little different, but…what is it called?
The violence of it all!!! Again why??? what was the reason?????
I’ve worked hard on my sperm count. It’s over three-hundred and fifty million. That’s quite impressive. I’m an overachiever though.
This was was a little amusing and funny because only Ramses the third would do something like this.
I smile as she puts the pieces together horror cinching her features as her bottom lip quivers. “Now do as I say, daughter wife.”
WHY DOES HE KEEP CALLING HER DAUGHTER!! There is a clear contrast going on, because the author goes on their way to mention the fact that he used to be her step father and that he never touched her mother only to call her daughter later when she is clearly not!!! again why?
“Please, I don’t want to be pregnant. Can you put on a condom? Then, yes, I’ll do what you want, I have an orgasm, but please, don’t come inside me.”
NOW THIS ONE IS THE MVP OF THE BOOK!! BECAUSE THIS WAS A CLEAR NONCON SCENE BC HE PROCEEDS TO DO THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT SHE ASKS IN THE NEXT SCENE!!! This was the biggest ick for me. Again, i mentioned that i was in fact going to yuck on someone's yum before starting this, i know some people like this but i personally don't and i know many people don't like the way it is formulated!!
The following scene constitutes a big chunk and i could not help but highlight all of it because again, why??
“I’ve been kidnapped! I need help! Call the police, call the FBI, call—” She shouts and screams, and kicks wildly as I enter her space, gripping her waist, flinging her over my shoulder. The scent of her cunt hits my nostrils like a gut punch, and I almost double over. But I would never drop her. “They belong to me,” I tell her, waving the two women on. “Everyone here belongs to me. They understand loyalty.” “You bitch!” she screams toward one of them, making me chuckle. “Now, now, that’s not very nice. You need to calm down. All this stress can’t be good for our baby, wife.” I start walking back to the room, then notice the blood on her knee. “How the fuck did this happen?” I demand, touching it with a fingertip. “What the fuck do you care? You cut me, you bastard. You practically split me in two with your dick more than once. What’s a little more blood?” I carry her into our suite, then slam the door closed as I sit her on the edge of the bed and drop to my knees. She tries to kick at me, but I dodge it easily, rubbing my thumb across her knee. “Ow! That hurts!” I grunt an acknowledgment, then head to the bathroom and grab the first aid kit. She’s still where I left her when I return, and that makes me happy. She’s learning that running isn’t an option. As I drop to my knees again and start cleaning the wound, she huffs. “I fell, okay? While I was running for my life. From you.” “That can’t happen again, you hear me?” I look up and meet her glaring eyes. “You are my wife now. I’ve fucked a baby into you, I’m sure of it. You can’t take that away from me, I won’t allow it. I’ll never let you go, Little Lamb. Never.”
“I love Ramses Maurizio Alexander Moreno. The fourth,” I add with a wry smirk. “Is that so, daughter?” SO are going to get the reason why? there are plenty other nice pet names than daughter for his not daughter wife.

All he wanted was for his stepdaughter to be his, for her to take his last name, have his babies, and be madly in love with him. Simple, right? HAHAHA, yeah, right. This wouldn't be a Dani Wyatt book.
Ramses just wanted to her show how much he LOVED her I mean look at all the things he does for her....
He buys the mansion across the street from his stepdaughter to watch her. She literally HATES him, but he loves her to pieces. He comes and goes into her house as he pleases without anyone noticing. K!dnaps her. Has adorable nicknames for her. He is her FIRST and LAST F0rces her to marry him He loves bl🩸🩸d , kn!f3, and pew pew play. M@rks her She's his g00d girl Bc t@mpering He "protects" her Can't wait to put a baby in her and watch her belly grow. He loves that she's a sq💦💦💦💦irter He has a "tr@cker installed in her. He knows her doctor. He records everything for memories. When she feels self-conscious about her looks, he tells her she is the most beautiful woman ever, and he loves all her curves. He has a shrine of her p@nties. He's been stealing her p@nties for two years and has 172 pairs of her p@nties hanging in his house. He knows she LOVES plants, so he got her the most luxurious greenhouse money could buy. He bought her a huge, expensive wardrobe. He showers with her and runs her baths... foot rubs. He has a room filled with flowers, balloons, and chocolates. He knows the noises she makes when she sleeps. And he thinks they are f--king adorable!
Step-Crush, part of the Wanting What's Wrong series, was about 41-year-old Ramses Maurizio Alexander Moreno, IV, the owner and CEO of Moreno Consolidated Industries, and 20-year-old Bijou (no last name given), a college student.
Side Note: The only spoiler I'm going to give about this book is to say...all was not as it seemed. There was a twist that even the best sleuth would miss no matter how hard they tried.
This was not the usual mafia/romance book that readers have come to expect. While it was a dark romance from the very first paragraph, filled with a high dosage of angst and drama, it also had elements that would turn some people off. Things like knife and gunplay. This book took those particular kinks to a level I've yet to encounter. So much so that there was a point where I almost stopped reading the story.
The emotional rollercoaster had more than the normal twists and turns, and they were sometimes nauseating, but in a good way. While there were some grammatical and punctuation errors, they didn't detract from the flow of the story. The fluff was a bit too much, though, causing the story to drag a bit. But in the end, when things started to make sense, it was almost excusable....almost.
Both the main characters were a little difficult to relate to, though. I can't say they were fully developed or mature because they weren't. Both left much to be desired for most of the story. The MMC was intensely unlikable, and the FMC was TSTL for most of the book.
I gave the book a three-star rating, only because the author did a really good job in pulling the wool over the eyes of the reader. As stated previously, this story wasn't what it seemed, and it ended better than it began. I mean, even the final epilogue wasn't the usual run-of-the-mill ending. It's rare that an author can surprise me like this. It was a nice change of pace.
Um….excuse me while I cool off🥵🥵 This book was 🔥🔥HOT AF🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ I was reading it thinking, I’m just gonna go back to the beginning and reread this book over and over again, happily forever❤️🥵😍🔥
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️5 SMOKING HOT STARS⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
So why only 3⭐️? I’m so confused now, I’m being generous at 3⭐️
I’m not sure what happened but things take a very dramatic 180 degree turn at 85%.
***I’m VERY CONFUSED, so I don’t know for sure, BUT the rest of my review MIGHT POSSIBLY contain SPOILERS, so you may want to ✋STOP🛑HERE✋***
Was this guy even in the mafia or just some rich crazy dude who loved some 🔥hot role-play?🔥 I can’t honestly answer that. Plus, after 8 kids I’d be a complete lunatic too. Really? 8??? That is SO NOT HOT😂😂😂🤯
What a disappointing and disgusting read. I was looking for a book with the "stepfather/stepdaughter" trope, which is somewhat taboo, but within limits, you know? I mean "forbidden", but That they are not related because that would be sick. I was left halfway through because it was a lot, I mean, if you like this you have very twisted tastes. But this reading is... Speechless, the man literally uses his knife to punish him and marks his initials on a "superficial" wound, friends, in what world would that be attractive to read? Never. And besides, the guy makes her do things and the girl ends up liking him, but after forcing her, it doesn't make sense. I understand there are warnings and everything, but still.
I can't believe they would accept a book like this being sold. I don't understand who liked this either. We all like a forbidden romance, even more so if it's this kind (that's why I wanted to read it, because the trope was striking) But first of all the protagonist is an obsessed psychopath who in most scenes doesn't even try to listen to the woman, all he does is tell her what she wants, as if she were not able to say it herself. I had high expectations, which after reading it (skipping some spicy scenes that were unpleasant) were left in the dust.
Step-Crush, book 9 of the Wanting What's Wrong series by Dani Wyatt @danieyattauthor. Well, as you probably know if you follow me I am a fan of Dani’s & this book was no different!
Wow, I did not expect this book to have the twists & turns it did! It is 75% smut & I enjoyed every second of this book! Taboo, age gap, and mafia are here for your enjoyment.
This was my first book by this author and it did not disappoint! It had two of my favorite tropes: taboo and mafia. There was an interesting plot twist that I did not see coming. This was a good, short and very spicy read and I am looking forward to checking out her other books! Step-Crush has a quote that I think is my favorite so far out of all of the books I've read, "I need to show that smart mouth what it's made for and that's not talking to cops."
Fantastic. Rames is truly a psycho! What he wants he gets. At any cost. And what he wants now is Bujou. He sneaks into her house and kidnaps her then marries her. Their wedding day is off the charts after that. There are some serious plot twists at the end that you will NEVER see coming. Just keep that in mind as you deal with Rames’ actions.
Ok, so this isn't your typical taboo dirty read. Wowza. This is ex step father/daughter but with a dark, dirty twist. There is daddy play but also "weapon" play, not sure if that's the correct wording. Rames kipnaps Bijou and the madness begins. I was surprised with some of the things I read, lol, then I read one of the lasy chapters and I was like damn, she got me. Overall, a filthy book that I enjoyed. Lol
I don’t know how to feel. This was… simple yet complex, easy to guess troupes yet surprising at times. I was UNO reversed when I was already on board. The point of Dark Romance is that the premise is DARK.
I wouldn’t have minded if the premise didn’t have the UNO reverse, I knew what I was getting into. I won’t b**** about grooming, consent, and a age-gap on a fictional story 🤦🏽♀️ like go read a history book 📚
This book had me hooked from the beginning and honestly the ending was a complete twist. For those who are fans of Dani Wyatt this is a tad darker than most of her books but just as captivating. This mobster husband gives all the touch her and d*e vibes. The chemistry between these characters is off the charts.
This book was hot and spicy!! This series has been filled with over the top, possessive males who are everything their ladies want and need..and this book was no exception!! There's age gap, virgin female main character, mafia and a little taboo. I thought the main male character was plain crazy but there's surprises in the story that you can only see if you read it!! 5⭐ 4.5 🌶
This is the 1st book ,I have read by this author, and I will say without a doubt as soon as I finish this review I am going to look for more of her books in this series. This was FIRE and so delicious..... Check the TW before you start because this is a grocery list.
Quickie Review: I just finished this over the top, spicy as heck romance. It was a first for me by this author and definitely won’t be the last. I was honestly wondering half way through what on earth I had gotten myself into. And then something happens. Oh my does something happen. And y’all, I didn’t feel so dirty. Even though this book is completely dirty. Great story. 5 stars.
Let me be honest, step daddy kink is not for me but I gave it a go. The whole breeding his daughter/ wife (he repeatedly calls her that) got a bit icky, especially when we started talking about plugging and vaginal biome. Im just..kn!fe play is not for me.
Meh.
Safe 2/5

Nothing cozy about this book but this is a dark, obsessed hero. There is body betrayal since this started out as kidnapping and forceable anything. But as dark book goes this is like a full book since it is fast paced. My only heldback on this is the ending was confusing and the last epilogue was a lil bit out of it. Do what you have with that info. Enjoy reading!
