Best known for his mass–energy equivalence formula E = mc2, dubbed "the world's most famous equation," he received "for his services to theoretical physics, and especially for his discovery of the law of the photoelectric effect". The latter was pivotal in establishing quantum theory.
He visited the United States when Adolf Hitler came to power in 1933 and went not back to Germany. On the eve of World War II, he endorsed a letter, alerting Franklin Delano Roosevelt, president, to the potential development of "extremely powerful bombs of a new type" and recommending that the United States begin similar research. This recommendation eventually led to the Manhattan project. Einstein supported defending the Allied forces but largely denounced the idea of using the newly discovered nuclear fission as a weapon. Later, with Bertrand Russell–Einstein manifesto highlighted the danger of nuclear weapons.
After the rise of the Nazi party, Einstein made Princeton his permanent home as a citizen of United States in 1940. He chaired the emergency committee of atomic scientists, which organized to alert the public to the dangers of warfare.
At a symposium, he advised:

'You can have lots of heat, even more heat, super-heat, mega-heat, unlimited heat, white heat, a little heat or no heat, but we don't have anything called 'cold'. We can hit down to 458 degrees below zero, which is no heat, but we can't go any further after that. There is no such thing as cold; otherwise we would be able to go colder than the lowest -458 degrees. Every body or object is susceptible to study when it has or transmits energy, and heat is what makes a body or matter have or transmit energy. Absolute zero (-458 F) is the total absence of heat.
You see, sir, cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of heat. We cannot measure cold. Heat we can measure in thermal units because heat is energy. Cold is not the opposite of heat, sir, just the absence of it.'
Silence across the room. A pen drops somewhere in the classroom, sounding like a hammer.
'What about darkness, professor.. Is there such a thing as darkness?'
'Yes,' the professor replies without hesitation. 'What is night if it isn't darkness?'
'You're wrong again, sir. Darkness is not something; it is the absence of something. You can have low light, normal light, bright light, flashing light, but if you have no light constantly you have nothing and it's called darkness, isn't it? That's the meaning we use to define the word. In reality, darkness isn't. If it were, you would be able to make darkness darker, wouldn't you?'
The professor begins to smile at the student in front of him. This will be a good semester.
'So what point are you making, young man?'
'Yes, professor. My point is, your philosophical premise is flawed to start with, and so your conclusion must also be flawed.'
The professor's face cannot hide his surprise this time. 'Flawed?
Can you explain how?'
'You are working on the premise of duality,' the student explains.. 'You argue that there is life and then there's death; a good God and a bad God. You are viewing the concept of God as something finite, something we can measure. Sir, science can't even explain a thought.' 'It uses electricity and magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one. To view death as the opposite of life is to be ignorant of the fact that death cannot exist as a substantive thing. Death is not the opposite of life, just the absence of it.' 'Now tell me, professor... Do you teach your students that they evolved from a monkey?'
'If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, young man, yes, of course I do.'
'Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir?'
The professor begins to shake his head, still smiling, as he realizes where the argument is going. A very good semester, indeed.
'Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavor, are you not teaching your opinion, sir? Are you now not a scientist, but a preacher?'
The class is in uproar. The student remains silent until the commotion has subsided.
'To continue the point you were making earlier to the other student, let me give you an example of what I mean.' The student looks around the room. 'Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the professor's brain?' The class breaks out into laughter. 'Is there anyone here who has ever heard the professor's brain, felt the professor's brain, touched or smelt the professor's brain? No one appears to have done so. So, according to the established rules of empirical, stable, demonstrable protocol, science says that you have no brain, with all due respect, sir.' 'So if science says you have no brain, how can we trust your lectures, sir?'
Now the room is silent.... The professor just stares at the student, his face unreadable. Finally, after what seems an eternity, the old man answers. 'I Guess you'll have to take them on faith.'
'Now, you accept that there is faith, and, in fact, faith exists with life,' the student continues. 'Now, sir, is there such a thing as evil?'
Now uncertain, the professor responds, 'Of course, there is. We see it Everyday. It is in the daily example of man's inhumanity to man.. It is in The multitude of crime and violence everywhere in the world. These manifestations are nothing else but evil.'
To this the student replied, 'Evil does not exist sir, or at least it does not exist unto itself. Evil is simply the absence of God. It is just like darkness and cold, a word that man has created to describe the absence of God. God did not create evil. Evil is the result of what happens when man does not have God's love present in his heart. It's like the cold that comes when there is no heat or the darkness that comes when there is no light.'
The professor sat down.
If you read it all the way through and had a smile on your face when you finished, mail to your friends and family with the title 'God vs Science'

ok, don't laugh, but I've been trying to formulate my own "personal statement" these last months. You know, what I believe, what I value, what I aspire to... that kind of thing. "The World As I See It" is exactly what I'd like to write for myself, for those I love. Of course, it would help if I were Albert Einstein... I certainly don't expect to publish mine. But I want to take the time to think through and articulate "the world as I see it." Einstein is a good man-- yeah, he's pretty smart, I guess, but he's also GOOD. And that comes through here. I especially appreciated his conception of religion and its relationship to science: awe and wonder, awe and wonder.

دوستان گرانقدر، این کتاب از چهار فصل تشکیل شده است و شامل عقاید و اعتقادات زنده یاد «آلبرت اینشتین» بزرگ و خردمند است و برخی از سخنرانی های او در مورد سیاست و مذهب و جنگ و کشورش و دلایل خروجش از آلمان و در پایان در مورد یهود و یهودیت و فلسطین نیز سخن گفته است

آنچه سبب به وجود آمدن مذهب و دین شده است، «ترس» است.. ترس از مرگ، ترس از گرسنگی، ترس از جانورانِ وحشی، ترس از بیماری، تمامی اینها ایجاد کننده زمینه مذهبی هستند
زمانی که کسی به حوادث از نظر تاریخی نگاه میکند، دانش و مذهب را دو دشمن آشتی ناپذیر میبیند. زیرا کسی که به گردش جهان از نظر قانون علمیت و دانش معتقد است، یک لحظه هم نمیتواند گفته های مذهبی را قبول کند و معتقد باشد که ممکن است موجودی در بستر حوادث سد بزرگی ایجاد کرده باشد و ناظر اعمال انسان باشد و انسان اهل علم و دانش نمیتواند تصور کند که آخرت و روز جزا وجود دارد... به همین دلایل است که ادیان با دانش دشمن هستند و کلیسا همیشه با علوم جنگیده و خردمندان را در عذاب و شکنجه نابود کرده است

ساخت و ساز در فلسطین برای یهودیان تنها یک عمل خیرخواهانه و یا بدلیل مهاجرت یهودیان به این منطقه نمیباشد، بلکه مسئله ای است که برای ملتِ یهود اهمیتِ حیاتی دارد... فلسطین تنها پناهگاه برای یهودیان نمیباشد، بلکه مرکزی است که اتحاد و یکپارچگیِ ملتِ یهود را بیدار میکند

ما قربانیانِ ماشینیسم، ما اشخاصی که محکوم به مرگِ تدریجی در مقابلِ ماشین هایِ غول پیکری هستیم که در پشتِ آن سه نیرویِ بزرگِ "حماقت" - "ترس" و "طمع" وجود دارد، هیچکدام بر دیگری برتری و ارجحیت نداریم

در این عصر دموکراسی، تعیین سرنوشت ملت ها بدست خودشان است و بس... و هر شخص باید همیشه این را بخاطر داشته باشد

Este libro puede dividirse en dos partes. La mitad en la que Einstein expone su punto de vista sobre la sociedad, economía, religión, filosofía, sus motivaciones, ciencia, su rechazo a las guerras, y sobre el judaísmo. Esta mitad es de lectura fácil, Einstein se expresa con una facilidad hermosa. Sus sentencias son sencillas y clarísimas, su lectura hace tan agradable. No deja de asombrarme cómo consigue expresar grandes ideas de forma tan sencilla. Durante esta mitad podemos entender parte de su personalidad, muestra la sencillez y humanidad de Einstein, no deja de asombrarme lo sencillo que es. Ejemplo:
"La vida me habría parecido vacía sin concentrarme en objetivos siempre inalcanzables tanto en el arte como en la investigación científica. Las banales metas de propiedad, éxito exterior y lujo me parecieron despreciables desde la juventud".
Es hermoso.
Durante la otra mitad del libro Einstein escribe sobre la Física, Matemática, Geometría y Electromagnetismo, y por supuesto sobre su Teoría de la Relatividad General. Esta mitad, ya resulta de lectura difícil para los lectores que no tan familiarizados con la física, en muchos momentos resulta difícil y pesada (estuve como 25 minutos tratando de entender una página). Es lectura pesada, pero con paciencia y conexión a Internet para ir investigando los conceptos que no se conocen, se posible entender. Depende de las ganas y/o el interés de cada uno en esta rama.

تقييمي جاء بناء على التجميعة وليس بناء على أفكار وقناعات اينشتاين..
لم أر فائدة من الكتاب، وعنوانه ليس معكوسا في محتواه، ولم ألمس حضورا لأينشتاين في ما جمع من مقالات في هذا الكتاب..

لم أر فائدة من الكتاب، وعنوانه ليس معكوسا في محتواه، ولم ألمس حضورا لأينشتاين في ما جمع من مقالات في هذا الكتاب..

العالم كما أراه كتاب لم يؤلفه أينشتاين بل تم تجميعه من مقالاته ومراسلاته ومقابلاته الإعلامية لتلخيص وجهة نظره بالعالم والحياة، وتم نشره لأول مرة عام 1949
كتاب رائع جدا تناول فيه العديد من المواضيع بمثالية عالية مثل : معنى الحياة واهمية المال والثرة والعلاقة بين الفرد والمجتمع والعلاقة بين العلم والدين وافكاره في الازمة الاقتصادية ورأيه في نزح السلاح والخدمة العسكرية وتحدث عن الاشتراكة وامور اخرى وهو يهودي وداعم للصهيونية حاول ان يبقي على علمانيته في حواراته الا انه لم يفلح

This is a miscellaneous collection of Einstein's thoughts about life and religion, and war and peace. In this book,an interesting picture of Einstein, as man, emerges.
Einstein sees reason manifesting itself in nature and that an appreciation of this reality is to experience the mysterious. It is this experience that "stands at the cradle of true art and true science" he writes. While this, along with fear, gave rise to religion, Einstein's religious attitude is all about mystery and not, as he writes, "the fears of an absurd egoism of feeble souls." While the scientist "is possessed by the sense of universal causation," Einstein nevertheless taps into a religious feeling that "takes the form of a rapturous amazement at the harmony of natural law, which reveals an intelligence of such superiority" that "...succeeds in keeping [the scientist] from the shackles of selfish desire."
Everything we have done as a human, Einstein writes, "is concerned with satisfaction of felt needs and the assuagement of pain." While, with primitive man, fear (avoidance of pain) is the primary religious force, more civilized religions move from fear to a "moral religion" that relies on and develops social feelings, and loves and cherishes the life of the tribe or the human race, or even life as such." In the reference to life itself, Einstein elsewhere seems to value not the tribe or humans per se, but the "life of all creation." Beyond fear- and moral-based religions, Einstein sees a "third state of religious experience" where science and religion are not opposed. Science feeds into and supports "a cosmic religious feeling" that is seen in Buddhism, "as we have learnt from the wonderful writings of Schopenhauer."
Philosophically, Einstein is focused on the freedom of individuals to develop as creative personalities. Fitting into this picture of life is his recognition of the variability of human nature. "Nature distributes her gifts variously among her children," he states. Accordingly, he is skeptical of state power that interferes with individual freedom. Einstein sees the world from the perspective of the whole where all forms of egoism and its social cousins of tribalism, classicism and nationalism are kept in check. Happiness in a social context comes, he says, "through renunciation and self-limitation everywhere." Although only vaguely stated, this need to check the power of the part in deference to the good of the whole appears to be for Einstein a law of reason.
Reflecting on this philosophical position, Einstein is also fairly clear that he divides life up between the forces of evil (money, greed, egoism) and the forces of good where "great and pure characters" produce "fine ideas." Money appeals to selfishness and abuse. On this latter point, he asks, "can anyone imagine Moses, Jesus or Gandhi armed with the money-bags of Carnegie?"
Also scattered throughout these writings are Einstein's negative comments about war-like attitudes of state power and what he saw occurring in Germany. The exchanges he had with the Prussian Academy of Science regarding his resignation is particularly striking. Here and there, Einstein also makes practical suggestions to counter the abuses of state power.
In these writings, Einstein is not particularly systematic. However, there is a comprehensive religious and philosophical worldview that is presented here and there in this book. That worldview is admirable and appealing.

الكتاب كان رايح علي التقييم نجمتين بكتير نجمتين ونصف كان أوله كان بيتكلم عن اراء أينشتاين في السلام ونزع السلاح ورفض التجنيد الإلزامي والعلم والإنسانية والدين وفي الدين قاعد يتكلم ان الدين الاصح الديانة الكونية مش ديانة الرعب وان الانسان يستني ثواب وعقاب وتمجيد اوفر في امريكا وشعبها وانتخابتها وفنها زثقافتها وعمارتها بدون ذكر اي عيب زي ما ذكر في بعض الدول ولا حتي كلمة عن وضع الزنوج مثلا طالما بنتكلم عن الانسانية والحب والحنية ده كلها
كنت عارف قبل كدا كلام اينشتاين عن السلام وكرهه للحرب ومع ذلك شارك في تصنيع القنبلة الذرية اللي اتضربت علي هيروشيما وناجازاكي!!

هذا الكتاب تجميع لمجموعة من المقالات والرسائل التي كتبها آينشتاين في مواضيع مختلفة لكنها لم تعكس بشكل كبير فكر آينشتاين ولم يكن بها هذا العمق حتى في الطرح..
غالبيتها غير مؤرخة، وبعضها جاء مبتورًا.. وجدت أن تجميعها على هذا النحو قد أساء لآينشتاين أكثر من كونه قدم فائدة للقارىء.
كثير من الموضوعات ، شعرت أنه زج بها زج حيث لم تقدم أي فائدة تذكر؛ فقط صف كلام لا طائل منه!
تقييمي اثنان من خمسة جاء لبعض العبارات التي لفتت نظري كقوله: "في مواجهة قناعتي وفهمي الجاد للعدالة والواجب الاجتماعي، شعرت دائمًا بعدم الحاجة للقرب من الآخرين والتجمعات البشرية، أنا حصان حقيقي يريد أن ينسحب وحيداً"

چنین میخوانیم
تحقیقات علمی بر این پایه استوار است که همه اتفاقاتی که میافتد معین شده توسط قوانین طبیعت هستند و این در مورد اعمال مردم نیز صادق است برای همین یک محقق علمی به سختی میتواند تمایل به این عقیده داشته باشد که اتفاقات را میتوان با دعا خواندن تحت تاثیر قرار داد مثلا با ارزو کردن یا تمنا کردن از یک موجود ماورای طبیعت بتوان به تغییری دست یافت
• من نمیتوانم فرضیهٔ بی اخلاقی فرد را بپذیرم من اخلاق را منحصرا یک امر انسانی و متعلق به انسان میدانم که هیچ نوع قدرت مافوق انسانی در پشت ان وجود ندارد
• من نمیتوانم خدایی را تصور کنم که مخلوقات خود را کیفر یا پاداش میدهد و اهدافش طبق مقاصد ما انسانها شکل گرفتهاست. خدایی که انعکاسی از ضعف و ناتوانی ما انسان هاست. من همچنین نمیتوانم باور کنم که انسان میتواند پس از مرگ ورای جسم مادی اش زنده بماند هر چند که روحهای ناتوان بدلیل جهل و نادانی این عقاید را با خود حمل میکنند

Mình cứ nghĩ Einstein suốt ngày nghiên cứu này nọ chứ! Ai dè ông cũng là con người nhân văn, cũng rất có trách nhiệm với cộng đồng xã hội, viết báo bày tỏ quan điểm về các vấn đề xã hội, phê phán cái sai, cổ vũ cái tốt, viết thư an ủi động viên người quen cũng như người không quen biết.
Và cuối cùng tuy ông là một nhà khoa học lớn nhưng ông cũng có tinh thần tôn giáo cao và đặc biệt mang trong mình tình yêu tự do hòa bình.

First, I can say that Einstein was a man of ideals and conviction; nevertheless, his opinions and his views are not to be spared from criticism. I respect Einstein as far as his contributions to science are concerned; but with regards to some of his views political, gender-wise and economic matters stated on this book, I disagree. Initially, his optimistic attitude towards humanity and the individual, the mystery and corresponding beauty of nature and the universe, and spirituality are admirable. But later on, his exchange of letters with his previous associates on Science Academies, his unfailing praise of American culture, took on a different turn. Eventually, I found myself in complete and utter disagreement with his views on Zionism and his praise of its founders (where he says that it is not a political movement, rather as a ‘cultural and social one’). Whereas Einstein criticized the nationalism of the German people, he falls on the other pitfall of promoting Zionist nationalism. No amount of praise will eradicate the fact that Zionism with its occupation of Palestine is established on bloodshed, oppression and massacre of Palestinian people which continues to this day. The praise and justification of Zionism cannot be sugarcoated on idealistic or good-sounding words. If reconciliation was voiced out by Einstein on this book, it was more of the promotion of the Jews and not of the Palestinians. How can reconciliation be possible between peoples where the oppressor derives its existence on its oppression and occupation of the land of the other?

Đọc cuốn sách, thấy được một số quan điểm của Einstein về cuộc đời, ông là một người yêu chuộng hoà bình, ghét chiến tranh, thích cuộc sống bình dị, ghét vật chất cũng như danh tiếng, ghét cuộc sống đua tranh vụ lợi mà chỉ muốn cống hiến hết mình.
Đọc xong thấy mình cũng có nhiều đức tính giống Einstein có điều không có được bộ óc như ông thôi mà :'(

We all have heard a lot about the scientific prowess of Albert Einstein. Added to that was a man who used to express his opinions on various world affairs openly. This book kind of collates all the letters which contains the opinions of Einstein. The views range from being a jew, how dictators are ruining the mankind, global peace efforts, palestine and arab issue, the conditions of germany and various others.
One of the important letter was where einstein clearly states his religious convictions. A lot of people have distorted his statements and have said that einstein was a religious man. Nothing can be further from the truth. If one reads carefully what he alludes is to the larger cosmic sense rather than petty religions and belief systems. Any curious creature would be in awe of the mechanisms of the universe and this is what fascinated einstein and not some idol sitting above deciding the morality of our actions.

مجموعة مقالات ورسائل جُمعت في هذا الكتاب، تتحدث عن الدين والسياسة والمجتمع بطريقة فلسفية، لم أفهم بعض المواضيع كونها أحداث وقعت في بدايات القرن العشرين في ألمانيا ودول أوروبا.
عبّر آينشتاين عن فخره كونه يهوديا بقوله - بترجمتي:
السعي وراء العلم من أجل العلم، وحبُّ العدالة، والرغبة في الإستقلال من سِمات اليهود المُميّزة والتي تجعلني أفتخر بأني يهودي.
ما شدّني في هذا الكتاب، حديث آينشتاين عن اليهود والعرب وخاصة عن موضوع إنشاء دولة إسرائيل. من المعروف أن حكومة إسرائيل قد عرضت على آينشتاين منصب رئيس وزراء إسرائيل لكنه رفض، وفضّل البقاء بعيدا عن السياسة.
يبدو أن آينشتاين في مقالاته ورسائله كان مشجّعاً لإقامة دولة لليهود في فلسطين، بل ومشجّعاً للحركة الصهيونية.فقد حثّ في كتابه هذا على إنشاء علاقات صداقة مع العرب والتعايش معهم بسلام لإنشاء حركة صهيونية دون أية عوائق.
اقتباس أعجبني يشرح سبب هجرة آينشتاين من ألمانيا إلى الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية:
"As long as I have any choice, I will only stay in a country where political liberty, toleration, and equality of all citizen before the law are the rule."

Лятно четиво? Какво е това? Моят отговор е прозаичен и навярно скучен – просто книга, която съм прочела през лятото. Тя обаче не е задължително лека, романтична или изобщо подчинена на „летен жанр“. Да, чета и такива, но не се спирам, ако вниманието ми бъде привлечено от „сериозна“ книга. Защото името Алберт Айнщайн не предполага друго, нали?
За мен беше немислимо да подмина заглавие като „Как виждам света“ (изд. „Ciela“). Препоръчвам я и на всеки читател, който би искал да опознае възгледите на един от най-значимите учени на XX век. В нея Айнщайн събира свои писма и есета по разнообразни теми – религия, наука, агресията в различните й форми, включително войната и военната служба, международна политика, икономика, национализъм и други.
Важно е да се отбележи историческият контекст, в който се появява първото издание на „Как виждам света“. Годината е 1934-та, Айнщайн вече е носител на Нобеловата награда за физика, започнал е работа с Нилс Бор по основите на квантовата механика и е високоуважаван учен. През изминалата година обаче Германия е навлязла в повратен етап от своята история с идването на Адолф Хитлер на власт. Това предопределя и решението на Айнщайн не само да емигрира в САЩ, а и да се откаже от немското си гражданство.
Обрисувах накратко времевия отрязък, през който е публикувана книгата, защото, ако я четем, без да го имаме предвид, представата ни за смисъла и силата на написаното би била неточна. Едно е да си хуманист, да защитаваш усилено мира и вярата в доброто на човечеството, когато живееш в благоденствие и в спокойна среда (в каквато съществуват днес жителите на Европа). Съвсем друга духовна мощ се изисква, когато проповядваш непопулярни за епохата си идеи и принципи, каквито са тези на Айнщайн в периода между двете световни войни.
От тази гледна точка „Как виждам света“ е изключително полезна в разбирането на легендарния учен. Не се заблуждавайте обаче, че тя е достатъчна, за да опознаете живота му или пък да си направите заключения за цялостния му принос към науката и обществото. Книгата само открехва вратата към противоречивата личност на Алберт Айнщайн.
Изданието е разделено на части, като последните три са посветени на Германия, евреите и пацифизма. Най-интересна ми беше първата, в която авторът разкрива своето виждане за религията, науката, прогреса и образованието. Ето и един от любимите ми цитати от нея:
"Етиката на човека трябва да се основава на съчувствието, образованието и социалните контакти – не е необходима религиозна основа. Човек наистина би бил окаян, ако винаги се налагаше да бъде удържан чрез страх, наказания и чрез надеждата за награда след смъртта."
Любопитство будят някои от писмата, които Айнщайн е решил да включи. Някои текстове остават неразбрани заради липсата на зададен контекст, други пък са твърде кратки и сухи, за да предизвикат особено възхищение. От голяма помощ са многобройните бележки под линия, които улесняват читателя при ориентирането в епохата. Не мога да не спомена и прекрасната корица на Дамян Дамянов и чудесния превод на Димитър Николов.
Като цяло книгата остави в мен едно много приятно чувство – заради възможността да се докосна до размислите на учен като Айнщайн, при това в красиво ново издание. Текстовете дават добра представа за настроенията, страховете и политическите заплахи на времето, през което са писани. Други пък звучат изумително актуални и днес:
"Нищо не реши уважението към правителството и към закона повече от прокарването на закони, които не могат да бъдат наложени."

За мен беше немислимо да подмина заглавие като „Как виждам света“ (изд. „Ciela“). Препоръчвам я и на всеки читател, който би искал да опознае възгледите на един от най-значимите учени на XX век. В нея Айнщайн събира свои писма и есета по разнообразни теми – религия, наука, агресията в различните й форми, включително войната и военната служба, международна политика, икономика, национализъм и други.
Важно е да се отбележи историческият контекст, в който се появява първото издание на „Как виждам света“. Годината е 1934-та, Айнщайн вече е носител на Нобеловата награда за физика, започнал е работа с Нилс Бор по основите на квантовата механика и е високоуважаван учен. През изминалата година обаче Германия е навлязла в повратен етап от своята история с идването на Адолф Хитлер на власт. Това предопределя и решението на Айнщайн не само да емигрира в САЩ, а и да се откаже от немското си гражданство.
Обрисувах накратко времевия отрязък, през който е публикувана книгата, защото, ако я четем, без да го имаме предвид, представата ни за смисъла и силата на написаното би била неточна. Едно е да си хуманист, да защитаваш усилено мира и вярата в доброто на човечеството, когато живееш в благоденствие и в спокойна среда (в каквато съществуват днес жителите на Европа). Съвсем друга духовна мощ се изисква, когато проповядваш непопулярни за епохата си идеи и принципи, каквито са тези на Айнщайн в периода между двете световни войни.
От тази гледна точка „Как виждам света“ е изключително полезна в разбирането на легендарния учен. Не се заблуждавайте обаче, че тя е достатъчна, за да опознаете живота му или пък да си направите заключения за цялостния му принос към науката и обществото. Книгата само открехва вратата към противоречивата личност на Алберт Айнщайн.
Изданието е разделено на части, като последните три са посветени на Германия, евреите и пацифизма. Най-интересна ми беше първата, в която авторът разкрива своето виждане за религията, науката, прогреса и образованието. Ето и един от любимите ми цитати от нея:
"Етиката на човека трябва да се основава на съчувствието, образованието и социалните контакти – не е необходима религиозна основа. Човек наистина би бил окаян, ако винаги се налагаше да бъде удържан чрез страх, наказания и чрез надеждата за награда след смъртта."

Çok şaşkınım. Yaşadığı dönem, Almanya'nın içinde bulunduğu durum, dünya savaşı gibi etkenlerden dolayı herhalde etkilenilmiştir diye düşünüyorum. Daha doğrusu düşünmek istiyorum. Bir bilim insanı bu kadar taraflı bu kadar tek düze düşünebilir mi? Özellikle Amerika ile ilgili yüceltmeleri, Almanya ve Almanlar ile ilgili düşünceleri oldukça taraflı, objektiflikten uzak. Daha kötüsü ise din konusunda bu kadar bağnaz bir bakış açısı ve tek taraflı yüceltme, inanılmaz. Bir bilim insanının din ile alakası olur mu olmaz mı ayrı konu ama bu biçimde bir bakış açısı olması bana göre doğru eksininde değil.
Filistin'de yaşananları yapılanma, yapılan zulümlerin görülmeden "yahudilerin toplanması" olarak değerlendirmesi, yapılan katliamları görmemesi mi yoksa görmek istememesi mi anlayamadım. Birebir aynısını Almanya'da gören biri olarak bunu nasıl gözardı edebilmiş anlayamıyorum. Dahası ise eleştirdiği sistem ile kendi söylediklerinin ve övdüğü Amerika'nın sürekli olarak çelişmesi akıl alır şey değil.
Kitabı büyük bir şaşkınlık ve üzüntü ile okudum. Şaşkınlığım büyük bir bilim insanının bakış açısı, üzüntüm ise böylesi büyük bir bilim adamını tanımamam oldu. Beklediğim daha doğrusu kafamda canlandırdığım tarafsız, önyargısız, işi sadece bilim olan, mitlerle değil, bilim ile cevap arayan bir bilim insanı Albert Einstein yerine böyle bir düşünce yapısı ile karşılaşmak duvara çarpma etkisi yaptı beynimde. Dil, din, ırk ve renkten arınmış bir biçimde bakabilen bilim insanı arayışında sanıyorum Einstein doğru bir durak değil. Bu denli taraf olan insanların doğruyu verebileceğine inanmak çok güç.

An Intellectual Giant in many Disciplines
I must admit that the only thing I had read of Einstein was, E=mc2. Nonetheless, this collection of his essays and letters demonstrates that he was brilliant in fields afar from physics. His discussion of politics (both domestic and international), economics of nations, the moral decay of pre-WWII Germany, and the interrelationships of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam were all acute for his era when the internet did not exist (meaning he had to be very well read), and prescient for our modern day issues.
The one disheartening thing I found in his letters was that he openly despised men who served in the military. Einstein asserts that such a man is despicable because rather than resort to tools of the mind to resolve conflict, they resort to the violence and the baser nature of man as animal. Being a long serving professional soldier and scholar, I was crestfallen that a man I so admired, would demonstrate his despise for me from his grave. Regardless, acknowledging Einstein’s pacifism and the German military ethic of the era in which Einstein was familiar, I at least understood his sentiment.
The book remains a good read which I recommend to others. It's analysis of all the topics discussed above are short. It serves as a book that one can read in one setting, pick up and put down for later reading, or return to again and again for future reference.

لم يَدخر آنشتاين جهدا في إظهار شخصه للعامة ، فقراءة جزء يسير من أفكاره كافية للإفصاح عن دناءة فكره و انحطاط نهجه و لهاثه في الجري وراء مصالحه التي غالبا ما يتضح لأي قارئ لسيرته أنها مصالح لا ترتبط بالإنسانية بأي شكل من الأشكال...
فمُثل انشتاين وفقا له هي الخير و الجمال و الحقيقة و أتساءل أين مُثله التي أدعى و هو يشهد مجازر كمجزرة الطنطورة و دير ياسين ؟!
و طالما انه لم يشعر قط بالإنتماء فلماذا صدع رؤوسنا بيهوديته و شعبه و وطنه المزعوم على أرض فلسطين ،المنكوبة بهذه الشريحة الهابطة من البشر، متملقا لنظام الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية التي ينتمي اليها شاء ام أبى في كل الطبائع إذ أدعى انها أرض فيها جهود العلم و العلماء مقدرة ... السؤال هل تُقدر أمريكا العلم في أرضها - المنسوبة ظلما لها - و تحتقره في غيرها؟!! فالواضح انها المسؤولة عن تمويل قصف المدارس و المستشفيات و مراكز الأبحاث و الجامعات و الآثار و المكتبات العامة في العالم الان !!!!
و الطريف ان آنشتاين يؤكد بغضه للحرب " كم احتقر الحرب التي تبدو في غاية البشاعة، أُفضل ان أُقطع الى قطع على ان أشارك بهذا الحدث البائس " فيرفض التجنيد الإلزامي الذي كانت ألمانيا تفرضه على شعبها و لكنه يتضامن مع قيام دولة إسرائيل التي تلزم التجنيد على الفتيات أيضا ...
و يعتبر هذا الأحمق ان كفاح اليهود قائم على زراعة أرض بائرة؟!! الا لعنة الله عليك ، فلسطين بائرة؟!! ماذا عن الزيتون و البرتقال و خضرة الأرض الدائمة حتى في حرب شعواء مجنونة ؟!!
بالنتيجة و لتكملة هذا الكتاب فقد اعتبرته نصا كوميديا إذ لا يسعني تصنيفه غير ذلك بالرغم من انه عرفني بحق ماذا يعني ان تكنْ ملة الكفر واحدة !!!!

نخبة المقالات لأينشتاين .. هكذا يُقال ! . بعد قراءتي للكتاب شعرت بأنني قرأت " الفراغ " .
هذه المقالات والأقوال بلا تاريخ بلا مرجع ..لا تعرف المناسبة التي كتبت و ذكرت فيها ، توجد عشوائية في الكتاب و كلام لا مغزى له فتجد في الفقرة الواحدة عدة موضوعات لا تمت بصلة لبعضها البعض ! .
عادا عن هذه كله ، ماذا استفدت من هذا الكتاب ؟ ، الجواب : لا شيء .. أو كما ذكرت سابقًا " الفراغ " .
توقعته كتاب رائع لكن مع الأسف هذا كتاب لا طائل منه .

Ngoại trừ phần nói về các chủ nghĩa trong triết học do bản thân ko hiểu, nội dung tổng hợp thập cẩm nhưng quý giá. Những quan điểm của ông về chủ nghĩa hòa bình, về giáo dục, nhân sinh, đạo đức, khoa học,... thực sự quá thấm, được diễn giải sát thực, dí dỏm và còn nguyên giá trị tới hiện tại. Einstein là một nhà tư tưởng thực sự. Nếu ai muốn trích dẫn những đoạn tâm đắc thì phải đánh dấu tới gần hết cuốn sách. Vĩ đại và khiêm nhường, tinh thần bác ái với con mắt của một nhà khoa học, liệu có ai thù ghét ông ko? Chắc chắn là ko ít, những kẻ thích gây hấn, bạo động, những kẻ bảo thủ, ích kỷ. Dùng bao từ cũng ko thể ca ngợi hết tài năng và tâm huyết của ông. Có thể thấy ông căm ghét chiến tranh hơn hết thảy mọi thứ qua cách ông phê phán khoa học quốc phòng, nghĩa vụ quân sự, chủ nghĩa yêu nước mù quáng hay sự thất bại của chiến dịch giải trừ quân bị. Thi thoảng phải lấy ra đọc lại để củng cố niềm tin. Và chính Einstein cũng nhận định nếu nói về một tôn giáo có khả năng đáp ứng được các nhu cầu của khoa học hiện đại trong tương lai, thì đó chính là đạo Bụt. Khoa học và nhân văn.

این سبک نوشته را بسیاری از دانشمندان نمیپسندند و مسائل جنبی فلسفی را در حوزه ی کاری خود نمیدانند چون نتیجهگیری کلی در مورد روح و خداوند و جهان هستى با استفاده از نتایج علمی به هیچ وجه از روش علمی صورت نمیگیرد و صرفاً فلسفهبافیهای خود نویسنده است و اصولاً روش علم تجربی تا به امروز برای بحث علمی در مورد این مسائل، اطلاعات کافی در اختیار ندارد و حتی ممکن است با این روش هیچگاه امکان بحث در مورد چنین مسائلی را پیدا نکند تا جاییکه بسیاری از دانشمندان از این مباحث و سوالات طفره رفته و آن را در حیطه کار خود نمیدانند و به قول جان پولیکهورن استاد گروه فیزیک نظری و ریاضیات کاربردی دانشگاه کمبریج:
«یک متخصص فیزیک کوانتوم همان قدر دلمشغولی فلسفی دارد که یک متخصص مکانیک گاراژ».
برخی از دانشمندانی که در زمینه کار خودشان نبوغ بسیاری دارند در هنگام نتیجهگیری از یافتههایشان اندکی پا را فراتر از واقعیت گذاشته و به پیامدهای فلسفی این یافتهها اشاره میکنند که شاید تنها با هدف جذب مخاطبان عام صورت گیرد. به هر حال این اظهار نظرات با وجود قابل احترام بودن و حتی جالب بودن، به هیچ وجه هم تراز یافتههای علمی نبوده و بایستی به دید اظهار نظر فردی که در این زمینه یک فرد عادی است و در زمینه تخصص علمیاش نابغه است نگریسته شوند و اینکه این مسائل فلسفی را از طرف چنین کسانی اثبات شده یا رد شده بدانیم اشتباهی است که بیشتر ژورنالیستها و رسانهها علاقه به ارتکاب آن را دارند و در ترکیب ناموفق علم تجربی و فسلفه همین بس که انيشتین تئوری کوانتوم را بنا بر همچین دلایلی نمیپذیرفت و همیشه با آن سر ناسازگاری داشت چون فکر میکرد که «خدا برای اداره جهان تاس نمیریزد»
با اذعان به صحت این مطلب٬ سردرآوردن از نظرات فلسفی ساینتیستها و درواقع فهمیدن آنچه پشت پیشانی میپرورانند خیلی برام جذاب بوده و هست. سراغ این کتاب رفتم چون بعد از نگاهی گذرا به فهرست به وجد اومدم. ولی در واقع این کتاب مجموع مکاتبات و سخنرانیهای این دانشمند کاریزماتیکه.
در مورد دلایل کاریزماتیک بودن اینشتین یحتمل باید چهرهی خاص٬ علاقهمند به مشکلات جهان و «easygoing» بودنش رو به عنوان یک چهرهی برتر علمی نام ببرید.
این کتاب توامان خنده٬ تأسف و گاهی عصبانیت من رو برانگیخت.
وقتی اینشتین از تشکیل سازمان بیطرف جهانی صحبت می کنه و اون رو تنها راه به صلح رسیدن میدونه و یا آمریکا رو گاهی مظهر صلح جهانی و تمام خوبیها میدونه٬ این پیشبینیها و خوشبینی های غلط از آب دراومده من رو به خنده و گاهی تأسف واداشت. از طرفی اینشتین را شخصیتی پر از تناقض یافتم٬ وقتی از نابودی مرزها و از بین رفتن حس ناسیونالیستی و صلح حرف میزنه و تمام قد از تشکیل حکومت مرکزی یهود و تشکیل دولت اسرائیل در فلسطین دفاع میکنه و با افتخار خودش رو صهیونیست معرفی میکنه.
و یا زمانی مذهب رو زاییدهی ترس میدونه و یهودیت رو یگانه منشا الهام بخش احساسات خوب.
این موضوعات به علم مربوط نیستند و ما باید متوجه این موضوع باشیم. در قلهی علم بودن الزاما به معنای «وحی منزل» بودن سخنان نیست.
خیلی جدیتر بین چهرهی علمی و اجتماعی اینشتین تفکیک قائلم.
به نظرم تعدادی از نامهها و سخنرانیهای کتاب ارزش خوندن نداشت.

هذا الكتاب عبارة عن مجموعة قصاصات منتقاة بعناية من مقالات ، وخطب ورسائل وتصريحات ل-ألبرت آينشتاين في مناسبات مختلفة- الغرض منها إلقاء الضوء على شخصيته الإنسانية الفكرية و معتقداته وآرائه تجاه العالم، الحياة، الإنسان، الدين،السياسة، الحرب والعلم وغيره.
بعيداً عن نظريته النسبية وقانون الجاذبية، يبدو أينشتاين إنسان مبحر في العمق الإنساني، وهو قارئ نفسي رائع. ولديه آراء ونظرة مثيرة حول الدين/ الإله. ك - مفهوم
( الدين الكوني). عاش مدافعاً عن أفكار العدالة والحرية.
يقول:
" إن التوق الشديد للحب، العون والمساعدة، للقيادة هي عواطف تستدعي إيجاد فكرة الإله الاجتماعي، الأخلاقي ."
" في عصرنا المكرس عامة للمادية يظل العلماء الجادون هم أكثر البشر ديناً"!! لكاتبٍ ما.
كانت له جهود ومحاولات حثيثة ل- إرساء السلام والسلم العالمي ووقف الحروب ونزع السلاح- تبعها تسجيل مواقف جادة ك- استقالته من أكاديمية العلوم - وكذا أكاديمية العلوم البروسية- ولا ننسى مواقفه الجادة كذلك ضد الفاشية ومعاداة السامية/ اليهود .
" الإنسان هو القيمة الأثمن للبشرية، أخجل من تردادها لو لم تكن مهددة بالوقوع في غياهب النسيان، خاصة في زمننا الطافح بالنظم والكلام المعاد."
"إن الشخصيات المستقلة، والتي تتشبث بفردانيتها كما هو الحال لدى العلماء لا تنحني طوعاً أمام إرادة خارجية عنها، ولا تتصرف إلا بما يملي عليها عواطفها النابعة من القلب بالذات"
يرى أن تحرر واعتزال الفرد النسبيّ ساهم في بناء وتشييد الحضارة؛ فالمجتمع السليم مرتبط باستقلالية أفراده. كما أشار إلى أهمية التربية العقلية.
تحدث عن بعض العقول النيرة ك- آرنولد بيرلينير وكيف كافح وساهم في رسم طريق ورؤيا واضحة وشمولية في بحثه العلمي الجاد؛ اهتدى به الكثير من العقول وتحت أشكال حية في المسائل والمناهج، ونتائج العلم. كما وصف برنارد شو بأنه ساحر العقول.
يرى بأن الفن والعلم هما المخلصان الحقيقيان للإنسان والإنسانية وهما الدعامة التي تبنى بها الحضارات المتينة.
أينشتاين متحدث رائ�� ، كما أنه يمتلك الحس الأدبي والذي تلمسه من خلال خطابه ورسائله.
لابد من الإشارة انه ورد في الكتاب على لسان أينشتاين أنه أحد الأوفياء والمخلصين ل- فكرة الصهيونية ولا بد من توضيح أنه تراجع وعدل عن موقفه منها فيما بعد .

كانت له جهود ومحاولات حثيثة ل- إرساء السلام والسلم العالمي ووقف الحروب ونزع السلاح- تبعها تسجيل مواقف جادة ك- استقالته من أكاديمية العلوم - وكذا أكاديمية العلوم البروسية- ولا ننسى مواقفه الجادة كذلك ضد الفاشية ومعاداة السامية/ اليهود .

يرى أن تحرر واعتزال الفرد النسبيّ ساهم في بناء وتشييد الحضارة؛ فالمجتمع السليم مرتبط باستقلالية أفراده. كما أشار إلى أهمية التربية العقلية.
تحدث عن بعض العقول النيرة ك- آرنولد بيرلينير وكيف كافح وساهم في رسم طريق ورؤيا واضحة وشمولية في بحثه العلمي الجاد؛ اهتدى به الكثير من العقول وتحت أشكال حية في المسائل والمناهج، ونتائج العلم. كما وصف برنارد شو بأنه ساحر العقول.
يرى بأن الفن والعلم هما المخلصان الحقيقيان للإنسان والإنسانية وهما الدعامة التي تبنى بها الحضارات المتينة.
أينشتاين متحدث رائ�� ، كما أنه يمتلك الحس الأدبي والذي تلمسه من خلال خطابه ورسائله.
لابد من الإشارة انه ورد في الكتاب على لسان أينشتاين أنه أحد الأوفياء والمخلصين ل- فكرة الصهيونية ولا بد من توضيح أنه تراجع وعدل عن موقفه منها فيما بعد .

Например по темата за едно женско движение, което протестира срещу идването му в САЩ, той сравнява техните вопли с гъските, които едно време са спасили Рим – определено аналогия, която в днешно време би изяла кариерата на всяка публична личност там. Всъщност текстовете в сборника са най-различни по призход, основно писма до приятели и познати, дори надгробни слова.
