Break Through Beginner Curling

Rate this book
“Break Through Beginner Curling” is a collection of stories and how-tos for developing curlers. The book is designed to help beginners break through to the next level, whether that means competing at a national championship, or simply winning more games at Friday night league. Using lessons from her own journey from a hockey rink open house to the Olympic Trials, author Gabrielle Coleman fills in the gaps that hold new curlers back. She answers questions like “What is ‘Normal’?” She explains how to set up an effective practice on dedicated and arena ice. And, she shows how making simple strategy distinctions, like deciding to go for a “conservative steal” versus a “steal at all costs,” can make it easier to figure out which shots to call. Even if you are completely new to curling, the stories in this book will take you inside the spirit of the game and the curling experience.

Nothing can take the place of a real-life coach, but this book can help!

Great read for new curlers

I really Enjoyed the tips, and hearing from a passionate curler. You will learn a lot if you are new to curling.
