Avery's (h) plans for her best friend's wedding take an unexpected turn when she runs into her ex with his new flame. In a desperate attempt to save face, she introduces Reid (H), a firefighter, as her fake boyfriend. Reid, always up for a challenge, agrees to play along. As they navigate the charade, sparks fly between them as things heat up between Avery and Reid, and what starts as a pretend relationship quickly becomes something more. Avery and Reid must decide if their connection is just a web of white lies or if they're willing to explore a genuine relationship. Sweet and steamy romantic quickie with plenty of heat and humor.

AVERY is from LA and in Ravish Ridge for a wedding. As she's looking for a tissue someone opens the door behind her and she falls. The man who did that doesn't help her up. So REID comes to her aid. When Avery sees who made her fall she is not happy. Then he introduces her to his girlfriend who shows her a lovely engagement ring. So She does the only thing she can think of, she introduces Reid as her boyfriend. She learns a little more about when she's with her friends and the bride. She learns he has a commitment phobia. But she's not looking for anything but a date. Are is she ? What about him?


One Question for the Quarterback
KATE works on the paper in Ravish Ridge. She wants to interview the MVP and brother of the bride, ASHER Monroe. She keeps getting obstacles put in her way but she's determined. She finally gets her editor to let her try. Her editor is worried she'll fall for him. But she knows that most athletes think of her as one of the boys. She is a tomboy and did all kinds of sports in high school and college. What Asher didn't expect was to be drawn to Kate. But is she drawn to him too?

One Mistake with the Mechanic
SLOANE has avoided TREVOR for years. She turned him down for a date and then left hastily. He has no idea why. He has wanted him forever but she avoids him like the plague. He is going to ask her out and if she tells him no again he's going to the truth as to why she is turning him down. When goes to check out the coffee van it's snowing so hard that she won't be able to get home. He takes her to his place via snowmobile. He's hoping he'll be able to get the answers he's seeking as to why she wouldn't date him.Will he prove to her what his intentions are and were?

Fantastic stories in this series.

I loved One Favor from the Firefighter. This is a short and sweet story. Avery is in town for her best friends wedding. When she runs into her ex and his new fiancé, she has a moment. Reid is right there and suddenly he’s her boyfriend. Funny thing is, commitment phobic Reid is ok with being her boyfriend. They spend some amazing time together but she lives in LA and has a business. Can they start a real relationship when she’s leaving after two days? That would be crazy. I loved the storyline and the characters. Sometimes one minute is all you need to know you found the one. I would definitely recommend this book.

I loved One Question for the Quarterback: Sunday Night Lights Series. Short and sweet story. Kate needs an interview with Asher to jump start her career. Asher fell with one look at Kate. It she’s gun shy and doesn’t think he’s one for commitment. He will prove her wrong and give her the love she deserves. I loved the storyline and the characters. Kate is fierce and feisty, one of the guys while Asher is a good guy with character even though he’s a professional athlete. I would definitely recommend this book.

I loved One Mistake with the Mechanic: Curvy Christmas Series. Sloane is very self conscious. She knows Trevor would never want to really date her but he does, he loves her. Trevor doesn’t know why Sloane turned him down or why she avoids him but this Christmas he’s determined to find out why and a blizzard is the perfect distraction. This is a short and sweet story, and I loved the characters. Sloane just needs to see herself the way Trevor does and he’s determined to show her. I would definitely recommend this book.

As they get to know each other things between them feel anything but fake. Both want more but are convinced the other doesn’t. Sweet, steamy story with amazing chemistry, love, laughter and a beautiful HEA.

Star quarterback, Asher, was in Ravish Ridge for his sisters wedding. Local reporter, Kate , was determined to interview him despite being turned down by his publicist. She was reporting on the wedding and the second Asher saw her he was in love. Now he has to convince Kate they were forever. Sweet, steamy romance with amazing chemistry, a kind, loving, determined hero, a sassy, independent heroine and a beautiful HEA.

Trevor was in love with Sloane. He had asked her on a date two years earlier and she turned him down and has been avoiding him ever since. Sloane was in love with Trevor but thought he asked her out out of pity. When a snow storm forced them together Trevor took his opportunity to find out why she turned him down and show her she was his forever. Sweet, steamy story with amazing chemistry, a loving, caring hero and a wonderful HEA.

One Favor for the Firefighter - I liked the connection and chemistry between Avery and Reid and the fascination of their friends as they interacted and got to know each other. - 3.75 - 4 stars.

One Question for the Quarterback- it was nice to find out what was going on with 'that' look shared in the previous story. It was interesting to see how their professional and personal lives intertwined, and how they handled their feelings for each other. - 3.5 stars.

One Mistake with the Mechanic - I really empathised with Sloane for how she felt and thought about things, Trevor showed his true colours by never giving up, he wanted to know the truth and recognised it when he saw it. I enjoyed their story. - 3.75 - 4 stars.

These books are quick reads with varying story-lines but there is insta-lust/love, sweetness, romance and steamy passion. They are entertaining and fun reads, and delivery on the promise of forgetting it all for an hour or so as you fall into the "Only ONE" moment.

Three solid reads by Ellen Brooks each with there own HEA. Three alpha hotties meet three strong, beauties in the small town of Ravish Ridge. Each book is well-written and has compelling characters, plenty of sizzle, steam, and some drama. I have really enjoyed both collections that I've read and look forward to reading the one I haven't and with KU, I can read it for free.
