I’ve seen someone else word it the same! Cliffhanger Queens! Just when you think you know what’s going to happen BOOM, you get a twist. I love these books! They truly live rent free in my head space and I cant wait for the next book! Like really I can not wait 😜. I don’t want to spoil anything for readers, so go in expecting a great ride! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I finished this at work, and then drove home in silence because wtf was that ending. 😭 I thought the cliffhanger from book one was a doozy, but this one?! I was in complete shock. Wings of Pain lived up to the title and the hype. I love Kieran and all her men, and I am excited (and terrified) to see how their adventure continues!

This is a seriously fantastic series. I love it when these two authors co-write. They are both talented and together they have a synergy that is palpable. I love that the angel trope is turned on its head, where the fallen angels are the good guys and regular angels are not. The character development is moving well and the story is riveting. The cliffhanger near gave me a heart attack. Can’t wait for the next book.

4.25 ⭐️ WTF was that ending? I can't even form proper thoughts right now....

Getting to know Niz more was an absolute treat. Him and Bash are probably my favorite of the boys. All of their relationships progress, as well as some new power manifestations. There was a bit more spice in this one. I'll give it 🌶🌶

I could almost write the same review as I did for the first book, because seriously; that ending! What are these authors doing to me (and all of you) with these cliffhangers? This sounds as if I’m complaining, but these are precisely the type of cliffhangers I love; the ones you absolutely can’t forget about, and help to jump into the story again whenever the next book releases.

That being said, “Wings of Pain” is a pretty typical second book. There’s a lot of focus on relationship building, learning more about the world and the powers within, and the flow of the story slows down a little bit to make time for deepening out some things. I believe I love Bastian even more after this first book, although the other men definitely gained some points as well.

I have a hard time saying what I love most about this series: the characters, the world building, the twists and turns, the action scenes, … They are all equally great, and I already can’t wait to get the third book.

loved this second book in the 𝑭𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒏 𝑫𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒚 series. the first book in the series left on such a cliffhanger and i was ready for answers. there is development in the relationships but also with Kieran’s affinity. you see Kieran find her voice even more and her inner strength from the treatment she had in Alfemir. HOWEVER THIS CLIFFHANGER WAS CRIMINAL. i can’t wait to see how things turn out for them all.

My oh my… I knew I wasn’t gonna like that cliffhanger.

After Niz is injured in the battle between Alfimir and the rebellion, they rush him to the medical center. Only to find out, none of their tools can pierce his skin to close the wound and stop the bleeding. Bastien steps up and decides to test the limits of his power and try to heal Niz. It works and Niz will live. Though, his relationship with Ronan will need repairing and he just exposed his people’s biggest secret.

When meeting with Noah, he explains that Bastien is an Archimage. Yet another dead affinity. He explains that archimages are much like a caster but don’t need an incantation or spell and have an endless well of power. While it still tends to favor a certain element, its uses are endless and can manipulate just about anything. He learns his power favors blood magic which explains his obsession with Kieran’s blood. (There’s a connection there for sure that I think will come back into play after this ending…) Kieran is struggling to connect with her powers and the stars. When she tries to reach them, it burns her skin. The exposed wounds causes Bastian to lose control over his power and it lashed out at Kieran’s blood. Ronan steps in to protect her and conjures the spirit of a wyvern. Thus giving Noah the inclination that he isn’t just a mere beast tamer but also a dead affinity. A shadow wielder. They are often initially assumed to be beast tamers but this is a step above. Once Ronan tames a beast, he can call upon its spirit to conjure a real version of it and use its power.

After the battle, Steele decides to stop taking it easy on Kieran and show her an obstacle course that will actually help her in battle. One his men use for training. All goes really well until she gets to the barbed wire tunnel. Steele’s conflicting emotions combined with his hot and cold display, confuses and distracts Kieran. Forgetting to retract her wings, they get caught in the wire and he has to rush her to the medical center. It makes Gabe realize that his emotions for Kieran are clouding his judgement and putting her at risk. (Just figure it out already jeez…)

After feeling defeated by her lack of progress, she decides to take a walk by herself at night. She falls into her meditative state staring at the stars and as if they summoned her and answered her call, she’s thrown into outer space. Figures greet her- every single one of the previous Star Keepers… they give her advice on how to use her magic. Where to start and what will help her figure it out. They also offer to give her all of their knowledge of their powers and their own instincts on how to use it. Which extinguished them forever. But it was an offering they knew they’d been waiting to give. Just for her. This gives her what she needs to start understanding her power and allows her the space to progress her training to take on ALL the stars.. This overwhelm of new power causes a rebirth. It changes her and makes her wings white again.

Now that she has a solid foundation to fulfill the prophecy, only one thing stands in her way.. Alfimir. With them hunting Kieran and the rebellion, it will set everything back and they will run out of time. It will also be difficult to move forward with any plans now that Alfimir knows where they are. It won’t be long before another attack. They decide to strike first. This is when Niz speaks up about his people’s history. How the Triads wouldn’t allow the more powerful affinities or beasts to live. A dominion came down from heaven and tried to take an angel for a mate. The angel refused him because she was mated to a wyvern. That’s what spurred a mass extinction. Or so the they thought. They took the magic from the surviving wyverns which sent them into hiding. But after reproducing, their magic came back into the bloodlines and they are now a community of thousands. They have protected their own and have strict rules in place to protect their people. Niz’s parents are the king and queen of the wyverns and they would be very upset that he revealed their secret. But he agrees that if they don’t stand up and fight back against Alfimir and the triads, nothing will ever change.

They make a plan to ally with the wyverns then attack Alfimir and dismantle the archangels before going after the Creator himself and destroying his throne.

Upon arriving at the underground city of the wyverns, they aren’t met with the warmest welcome. While Niz’s father seems open to hearing his son out, his mother has such discontent for the angels that she can’t see past the end of her nose. It’s going to take a lot to convince her to join their cause and risk their people.

While the interaction didn’t go so well, the group is treated to the guest suite. Niz, however, decides to be alone and leaves the group. Kieran convinces the guard to take her to his chambers where she runs into Illia… HIS BETROTHED!!!! (Draaamaaaaa) the guards outside Niz’s room are refusing her entry which has cause a frenzy. When they notice Kieran, they mention how only she was permitted to go in. This makes Illia furious and she goes for a slap, which Kieran promptly blocks and puts her in her place. Upon entering, Niz explains his relationship with Illia is forced upon them by their parents and all she’s really after is the throne. He only loves Kieran. (Awwwww)

When Niz’s parents refuse to ally with the rebellion and put an end to Alfimir, the group decides to take them on themselves. When leaving the cave, they encounter some poachers- Alfimir militia, not beast tamers- tormenting a young wyvern. One who must have snuck out of their cave. Kieran doesn’t hesitate before stepping in to save the child. They rush back to the palace. Bastien keeps the boy stable and removes the poison just before the healers arrive to finish treatment. The king and queen are shocked and awestruck that Kieran saved one of their own. They agree to help the rebellion.

Wanting to process all these events, Kieran takes flight in the night sky. When a pained distress cry calls out from the same spot she rescued the young wyvern, she again jumps into motion without hesitation. Only it’s a trap.. the soldiers knock her out and take her to the jail in Alfimir where she’s reunited with the one who set the trap, her father. He divulges that after Kieran left, her mother took her own life. So she won’t be attending Kieran’s execution scheduled for SUNSET…

When they offer her to say her final words, she exposes Alfimir and their lies. She tells them of star keepers and dead affinities that have been meticulously wiped out even from memory. The crowd is enamored and listening intently. Her father forces the execution to proceed and the blade- an ancient weapon meant to strip an angel of their powers and their soul so it may never move on- is about to fall… when war horns sound in the distance and the black cloud becomes more distinguished to show a massive host of wyverns heading right for them. The crowd is stunned. Bastien gets to her first and she is more than happy to see them. He continues to take out Alfimir soldiers. Kieran turns to help the others but is confronted by her father. She puts up a good fight thanks to Steele’s training. This surprises him. But in the end, he manages to get ahold of her dagger and slash her throat. JUST BEFORE Steele shows up and cuts him clean in half. Gabe appears and doesn’t know how to stop the bleeding. Then she fades to black.

WHAT. WHAT THE FUCK. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! 😭 nooooo. Is it October yet? When is Bastien going to come in and put all the blood back in. She’s gonna live. She has to. wtf.

Why did I make myself read the second book? I wasn't in love with the first one but I figured hey there could be something here it has potential. Well consider the potential wasted. Let's get into it.

Likes:
I do like the angel story line because it's a little refreshing. We usually don't see a ton of angels as the main characters so I do like that. I also like that there has been a decent amount of action scenes in this book so we get to see the conflict rather than just an end of book battle.

Dislikes:
Oh boy. Where to start. I guess with Kieran. I found her to be incredibly naive and bland in book one and hoped that changed in book two....it did not. She trains and works on things just to still be awful and eventually get kidnapped. She is the damsel in distress and part of this just grinds my gears. If you are the savior be the savior. Instead she's constantly being carried everywhere and causing more problems than she's solving.

The guys. First off we did not need niz. We had enough harem members we don't need another. Yes he's cute etc. But she already is not spending as much time with everyone else and we add another person. The other negative is I feel like we don't get to know them at all. We get base line stereotypes but nothing deeper which was my critique book one but it got worse.

Honestly a huge negative for me was that they just info dumped the whole book. It's too much information just throw out in the book. They created an entire forgotten magical system, threw in a prophecy, training with unknown abilities, the wyverns entire history all into this book. Just pick a concept first then flush it out. There was too much going on

I will not be reading the next one.

In a flurry of stars, RL Caulder and M Sinclair strike again

Okay first of all - THAT ENDING!?!? How can you guys do that to us loyal and lovely readers!! The third book literally couldn’t come any sooner. These ladies KNOW how to do a cliff hanger, that’s for sure.

Wow - where to even start with reviewing this absolute masterpiece? Kieran and her boys are back again, this time with more creatures and challenges surrounding them like never before. Wyverns and angels and powers, oh my!

It is such an incredible honour getting to follow Kieran on this journey as she understands and hones her powers, alongside wrapping every man around her finger in the process. And the men!? Oh my GOODNESS. The MEN. So many book boyfriends warring for her affection, so so many of them just perfect and stunning in their own right.

This book is perfect parts romance and action, as well as fantasy and suspense. The revenge and redemption arcs are so inspiring, the scenery is gorgeous, the character relationships with family and friends are so bittersweet. I can not recommend this series enough, truly. Both auto-buy authors for me but this series has taken their writing to a whole new level.

I adore this world, I adore them, and I cannot explain in enough words how much you should read this book. If why choose, high fantasy and action is your thing - what are you waiting for!?

Don’t say the third book because it’s coming soon enough!! Get reading!!

First, Im in shock over the ending. Second, this book reinforced my thought process of wanting a harem of fiction men for myself. This book is hot, and so good! Book 1 was fantastic, so I had high hopes for this one. It met my expectations! Loved it! Its exciting, romantic, and the ending has me all in my emotions!

This Fantasy Romance is book 2 in the Fallen Destiny series. The romance in this book is a why choose. Each relationship has separate dynamics, and is in different stages of growth. The book is spicy. There are frequent descriptive spicy scenes, as well as spicy language, and thoughts. The book moves at a steady pace following Kieran, and her companions as they strengthen themselves as well as the rebellion. They make some unexpected discoveries along the way. This will lead them to have to make a choice whether or not to take some risks that could put not only their lives at risk but many innocents too. While this book is spicy, and romance filled it remains plot driven. It is a great page turner.

I love seeing Kieran strengthen her bonds with the fellas. Well, except Steele. lol He's still not in my good graces quite yet, but he's making strides. The worldbuilding progresses quite nicely, and we get to meet some new characters, though it isn't clear at first whether they be friend or foe. I was clucking my tongue at Kieran at the end because I knew what was coming, but I also knew she couldn't help herself. That ending, dude. That was a punch to the gut! Seems book three will have a rough beginning, but I'm confident this author duo will amaze us with the resolution. <3

A fabulous continuation the Fallen Destiny series! R.L. Caulder and M. Sinclair started the book right where the lad ended and boy was it is ride! Twists, turns, and what seems like an impossible feat in front of them, Kieran and her men fight for something so much bigger than themselves. The question is will they succeed? Kieran, Niz, Gabe, Ronan, and Bastian are prepared for fight but the fight will be far from easy, with many obstacles in their way. But they continued to fight even with barrier after barrier in their way. Because they have something to fight for…

Wings of Pain picks up right where we left off in Wings of Stars. Kieran and her mates experience character and magical growth throughout this book as they learn new things and push themselves. The roller coaster ride that just keeps me coming back for more. I laughed, I cried, and I raged as I read this book. And man OH MAN!! Her men get way more sexy in this book (it is possible). I can’t wait until the next book! Everything these ladies right is magical.

I’d been waiting for this because the cliffhanger from book 1 shook me and I needed to find out what happens next. I devoured this in a day it was so good. It’s full of action, twists and turns, I couldn’t put it down. It was very interesting to learn more about the powers some of the MCs possess.

I loved watching Kieran and the bonds grow between her men. I’m even warming up to Steele quicker than I thought but he still needs to work on his issues. The dynamics between her and the others make me swoon. Bash is my favourite but not by much, still love his personal crazy.

Some questions were answered only to leave me with new ones. I’m screaming at the cliffhanger, didn’t think it could be more shocking, oh how I was wrong. I need the next book asap

I had so much fun reading this but those two definitely know how to wreck me because this book?! We said why is the title “wings of pain” and they said “you’ll see 👀”

Picking up right after book 1 I loved how Wings of Pain explored deeper not only into the relationship dynamics but also Kieran and her powers because our girl is a boss and I adored seeing her come into her true self more and more!

Getting to also explore more of Alfameir was also very interesting and exciting with how more and more pieces of the puzzle are falling into place. I don’t know how this series will finish as a trilogy but that’s a me problem because I don’t want it to end! I honestly cannot wait to see how everything plays out in book 3 now!

Thank you so much R.L. Caulder & M. Sinclair for the opportunity to help beta read and receive an advance copy

This is a great sequel! Usually I find book 2 drags a series down, idk why. This one managed to avoid that while showing me that needed more, more, more. I liked everything until the very end, because what is that cliffy???

I swear authors just love to cause us pain. Heartbreaking, soul wrenching pain. That cliffhanger was absolutely brutal. But, with that being said, I think that this was even better than the first one. I was so happy to receive this advanced copy.

Kieran is such a warrior. Her growth has been phenomenal. I love how she’s taken charge of her life, refusing to be pushed to the sidelines or beaten down. Bastian still reigns supreme. I adore him so much!!! Ronan and Gabe fight for second place with each other. Whenever I think one is perfect, the other does something even better. Niz is coming in next. I can’t wait to explore more with him. And Steele surprised me.

I’m pretty obsessed with this world. The affinities are such an interesting magic system. They were explored even more here, which was really nice.

A LOT was revealed in this book. The world was expanded and some questions were answered. I still have questions that I’m excited to see answered.

“Will you share the demons that haunt your mind with me, Darling?”

I will start by saying that I was given an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review. These opinions are my own. Thank you so much to R.L Caulder and M. Sinclair for sending a copy my way!

I will try and keep my review as spoiler free as possible but just be wary if you haven’t read the first book, Wings of Stars.

Umm, my book seems to be missing pages because there is no way we can end where we ended! Poor Kieran, she’s really going through it. And Bastin better not be too drained to help because it can’t have end the way.

Kieran and the rest of the Rebellion are picking up the pieces after the surprise attack from Alfemir. Wings of Pain has the overall vibe of owning the battle, but now we must prepare for the war. There was a beautiful balance of healing and recovering after the battle alongside the training montages and preparing for the big fight. My jaw is still dropped over the Niz reveal. I love it. Also, so handy that we might have some more forces who can help overthrow Alfemir. I am hooked and excited to see how the rest of the war unfolds.

The romance took a bit of a backseat, but, given that the plot has ramped up it feels natural. Kieran has thrown herself into training. On top of this, they all focus on their next steps. So, it makes sense that the romance hasn’t developed too much. Although, thankfully, Steele has pulled his head out of his ass and seems to be on board the sharing-is-caring train. The guys are starting to work together. They made a chart of who gets to sleep in Kieran’s bed each night. I was cackling as they argued about who went first!

I loved getting to explore these dead magic affinities.I have my fingers crossed we get to know more. Also, the scene where Kieran meets the previous Star Keepers and they pass on their wisdom gave me Avatar the Last Air Bender vibes, which I just loved.

Wings of Pain is a captivating sequel. I loved how we learned more about the world and found a few more hidden affinities. If you love a paranormal romance that is, plot-focused, follows the same characters with a slow-burn romance, I highly recommend the series. And I am still not over the ending! Let the countdown for the next book begin because I need answers!

4.25 stars. Book 2 in the series (can't be read as a standalone).

Tropes:
- Why choose/reverse harem
- Magic users
- Multiple PoV
- Enemies to lovers (almost!) for 1 of the love interests
- Spice: 🌶🌶

Another great book in this series but I cannot believe that cliffhanger! I genuinely slumped after seeing that the next book isn't out until later next year.

Ok so pluses:

There's a lot of time spent developing the persona of each MMC - I loved learning more about each and seeing how they each built their own special relationship with our girl.

I felt like the plot was moving both fast and slow at the same time. There was definitely a lot of action, but the characters still had their downtime to discuss the craziness that was going on around them.

The dead affinities are so cool and creative. I love how unique each is.

I loved how the book addressed some of the real issues you'd expect in a harem, i.e.. jealousy between love interests, the FMCs confusion over her feelings for multiple men, how to split time equally, etc.

The romance was so good. This book felt a little spicier than the last - the romance didn't overshadow every scene but was woven beautifully into the plot.

Now for the few nit picks (lots of spoilers here):

I felt like sometimes the FMC would make a point of thinking something but then not follow through with actions, e.g., she noted the fact Ronan may be feeling left out since he didn't have a dead affinity and had just received the knock to his ego finding out he didn't tame Niz - she said she would make sure to speak with him about it but then she never did.

When Ronan used a shadow dragon to attack the angels who tried to capture the young wyvern, no one said anything! I might have missed something here, but did the others even know about his affinity? I feel like this deserved more of a mention.

I found the fact that the FMC just decided to leave the safety of the wyvern camp, despite the fact that they had fought 8 soldiers nearby the day before, slightly forced. This felt a little like an excuse to remove her from the group so the plot could continue. She had been told not to go anywhere on her own when back in the rebellion camp, so why would this be different when they were back in enemy territory?

Saying this none of these points took away from my enjoyment. Would 100% recommend!

“𝓨𝓸𝓾 𝓪𝓻𝓮 𝓹𝓮𝓻𝓯𝓮𝓬𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷, 𝓓𝓪𝓻𝓵𝓲𝓷𝓰. 𝓘 𝓯𝓲𝓷𝓭 𝓶𝔂𝓼𝓮𝓵𝓯 𝓪𝓵𝓶𝓸𝓼𝓽 𝓸𝓿𝓮𝓻𝔀𝓱𝓮𝓵𝓶𝓮𝓭, 𝔀𝓪𝓷𝓽𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓽𝓸 𝓭𝓮𝓿𝓸𝓾𝓻 𝓮𝓿𝓮𝓻𝔂 𝓲𝓷𝓬𝓱 𝓸𝓯 𝔂𝓸𝓾 𝓪𝓵𝓵 𝓪𝓽 𝓸𝓷𝓬𝓮.”

What a book… these authors know how to bring it, and boy do they bring it big.

This is a dark, why choose fantasy romance. The content, both on and off page, will NOT be suitable for everyone. It covers topics that may be triggering. You MUST proceed with caution; your mental health matters.

Following on from the phenomenal world building in WOS, this book focused on the relationship building and elaboration of the story being told. The flow slowed down in order to allow for the more intricate world building which lends a deeper insight in the story that will rock your world.

Following on from the shocking revelations in WOS, Kieran really comes into her own in this book. I loved her growth and development. She is finally beginning to see herself the way her men do. They believe in her and want her to succeed in everything she does. I absolutely adored the relationship building in this book. We caught glimpses of all the men in WOS but now they shine and we are able to see their more vulnerable sides. Each relationship is at different stages; it’s exciting watching some feelings still grow and other feelings have their foundations solidify. The feels are pretty huge in this book.

I’m still very much team Bastian, he is my absolute favourite. It’s clear as day how he feels for Kieran and the levels he will go to, to protect her. To be fair, it’s the same for all the men. Expect Steele, who really needs to give his head a shake. He’s still not in my good graces. But on the flip reverse, Kieran would also go to the end of the earth for all her men. Their love is limitless even if they haven’t all fully realised it.

The swift twist and turn of events in this book will have you reeling. They had me sat on the edge of my seat. All. The. Damn. Time.
And that cliffhanger… holy hell was it brutal. It shook me to my very core.

Let’s just say, I am beyond excited for book 3! Bring it on!

🪽Dark Fantasy

🪽Fallen angels
🪽Possessive men who do not want to share

Would definitely recommend!

Author: M. Sinclair & R.L. Caulder

Couple: Kieran with Niz, Gabe, Ronan, Bastian and Steele

Tropes: dark romance, fantasy romance, why choose, reverse harem, magical beasts, fallen angels, dystopian romance

Review: Wings of Pain…WOW. Kieran’s story takes a turn in this book and I found that I was not ready for the cliffhanger that these two authors give us at the end. The way they blended all of the angst, banter, intensity and bonds in this book pushed boundaries of what Kieran could take but also showed that book 3 will be end all be all for this group! RL Caulder and M. Sinclair were able to pick up where we left off in book 1 while also adding to the plot and to each character’s arc which left us dreading what they will cook up next!

While book one pushed me into Gabe’s and Bastian’s corners, this book firmly into Niz’s camp! Finally getting the secrets surrounding him left me with my jaw hanging on THE FLOOR!! I was not ready for all the secrets and questions that his revelations would lead to and I can say that I cannot wait for more of him and the goofiness he adds to the group. I also LOVED Gabe in this book, seeing him finally stand up to Steele (finally)! While Steele did not jump up super high in my list, he also started to be more of a favorite towards the end and I loved seeing the surly man fall hard to his knees!

Wings of Pain is a whirlwind of high emotions, secrets and banter and these authors leave us hanging on the deadliest of cliffhangers at the end of it all. I could not believe everything that Kieran went through but also loved how she persevered and kept fighting! The way they delved more into her destiny and the powers they each had me guessing at whose would manifest next while also hoping no more upsets would come! RL Caulder and M. Sinclair outdid themselves with this book and I am anxious for more of Kieran and her men!

Rating: 5/5, Kieran’s book blew me away with this second book and the major cliffhanger this duo gives us!

Thank you to M. Sinclair & RL Caulder for sending me this eARC!

Wings of Pain is an intense and gripping continuation of the Fallen Destiny series, and I was immediately drawn back into the action as it picks up right where Wings of Stars left off. This book packs an emotional punch with non-stop action, deeper character development, and a balanced mix of plot and romance.

Keiran, our fierce FMC, continues to prove she’s a force to be reckoned with. Her unwavering determination and resilience, despite the overwhelming odds, make her growth in this book so satisfying to watch. She refuses to let anything stand in her way, and I can’t wait to see how she evolves further in the series.

As for the relationships—wow! The organic development between Keiran and her growing harem of potential love interests is handled beautifully. Bastian remains my favorite with his humor and antics, but I also love the different dynamics with Ronan, Gabe, and even Steele (who, despite his attitude, has me excited for future development). The slow-burn romance is built perfectly alongside the tension-filled storyline, and the why-choose aspect adds layers to the character connections.

I also loved the balance between the action-packed plot and the emotional stakes. The stakes are higher than ever, and the fight for freedom against Alfemir’s cruelty kept me hooked from start to finish. The prophesies, found family elements, and constant surprises made this book a true page-turner.

Of course, the book ends on a jaw-dropping cliffhanger, and the wait for book 3 is going to be agonizing, but I’m so excited to see how this epic tale continues!

I highly recommend this series!

4.5 ⭐

I started this book straight after finishing the previous one, and it was good I did that because, omg, that ending!

I'm not going to spoil anything, but our (knowledge of the) world expands a lot in this book as we learn a lot more about what goes on and the lies that have been told to keep the angels in check.

Kieran is an incredibly strong woman. She fell for a reason, and she stands by it. She wants to help the Rebellion, and after finally knowing what she is and the terrible burden that comes with it, she does all she can to prepare herself.
She's got a lot on her shoulders, but she doesn't need to do everything alone. Ronan, Gabe, Bastian, and Niz are there for her every step of the way. And yes, even Steele is getting a tad more open (though he still has a ton of groveling to do, to be honest). They're all training hard and learning more about their affinities.

This book was filled with revelations, not only for Kieran but for the whole group. They all have their own struggles and fears to overcome. The question is, will they have time to deal with them before it's too late?

I love this series! I'm curious about the "why" behind everything, and I'd love to see the characters have some downtime to talk about their feelings. They're not used to opening up (or sharing, lol), so that will be fun to explore!

I have to warn you, though... If you hate cliffhangers, this one is pretty big.

Having read many of both authors' books, I know we're in for a wild ride, and I am so here for it!
I absolutely can't wait for the next installment :D

“𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘩 𝘰𝘧 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘦.”

We find Kieran and her allies navigating complicated circumstances following the events of the first book. The prophecy bolsters Kieran’s resolve to uncover the secrets of the dead affinities while finding her place among her kind and the divided lands.

Tropes:
👀 Multi POV
💖 Resilient FMC
🫂 Forced proximity
💪🏻 Possessive MMCs
🚫 “Who did this?”
⁉️ Why choose
🗣️ Banter
🫥 Hidden identities
🐉 Wyvern sidekick
🌶️ Moderate

“𝘐 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘐 𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘢 𝘱𝘪𝘦𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵, 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘪𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘯'𝘵 𝘢𝘥𝘮𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧. 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘣𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘺 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘦."

In this installment, we explore new unlocked powers, ancient knowledge, and evolving relationships. The multi POV lends deeper insight into their inner thoughts, hopes, and fears.

While still healing from the trauma and failure she’s felt all her life, Kieran remains selfless but impulsive and stubborn. Each MMC reveres and fiercely protects her while she brings out the best in each of them. I adore how they challenge, balance, and support her.

Wings of Pain is a high-stakes fantasy that brings the banter, action, and a cliffhanger ending that should be absolutely illegal! I can’t wait to continue the journey as these MCs find their purpose and embrace their destiny.

Huge thanks to R.L. Caulder and M Sinclair for the ARC opportunity! This is my honest and voluntary review.

I have been anxiously awaiting the second book in the Fallen Destiny series and let me say it did not disappoint. It is a gripping story that had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. We start where book 1 leaves off giving us that shocking moment with Niz (the wyvern) and Kieran while in the mist of a battle. We have seen Kieran growing as we get to this moment. I absolutely love her and how sweet and caring she is but yet has a strength that surpasses a lot of people. She has been through so much in her life that the strength she has just radiates from her. I love that we see growth between Kieran and the others. I absolutely love Bash and his personality. He was one of my favorites from the first book. They all offer some amazing things to the relationships around them. The story is extremely well written and developed. R. L. Caulder and M. Sinclair have this amazing ability to write a seamless story where you cannot tell who is writing which part. It is absolutely amazing how well they develop a story that not only pulls you in but makes you feel as if you are part of this amazing world. Now, we get to the end of this book, which mind you I have been gripping my seat through the entire book, and we get to this extremely major cliffhanger. I am telling you that it is really, really epic and I honestly did not expect it to occur. This is an absolute must read!!!!
