I'm reading this while planning for an upcoming very short trip to Hawaii. Not really suited for lazy tanning on a beach, but more for those who want to visit landmarks and understand the culture. I'm reading it mostly for the history of the hawaiians more than the tourist attractions (which I actually follow more online from travel websites rather than this guide).

Would not have purchased if I'd seen the DK Eyewitness Travel Hawaii first. Still it's good on culture and history.

The absolute best travel guide to Hawaii. Takes you off the beaten path (if you want) to explore the hidden gems of this tropical paradise. Excellent maps, photos and descriptions.

This was very informative on Maui, giving the kind of background information and pictures I enjoy.
