Cullen Archer is an insurance investigator working with Interpol to stop a Chinese smuggling ring involving the theft of Chinese antiquities. Mei Lu Ling, a lieutenant with Houston PD, is assigned to assist Cullen. Since Mei Lu is of Chinese descent, she can help Cullen with the language and help him understand Chinese culture. Cullen and Mei Lu are attracted to each other, but what will happen when Mei Lu finds out that her father, a dealer in Chinese antiques, may be considered a suspect in Cullen's case.

This was a really enjoyable story with likable lead characters. I especially liked Asian heroine Mei Lu. She was a strong and independent heroine who made her own way after walking away from her family's business. I enjoyed reading about her upbringing in her traditional Chinese family. Her dog Foo was cute, too. I also liked single-father Cullen and his eight-year-old twins. I found the case involving Chinese antiques interesting and it added suspense to this very entertaining story.

4 Stars! ~ Mei Lu gave up her career in her father's business in importing Chinese art when she had a falling out with her brother. She chose a career with the Houston PD, working white collar crime cases. Someone's been importing stolen Chinese treasures, and Mei Lu is teamed up with Cullen an insurance investigator working for Interpol. Cullen's convinced that her family's business has something to do with the thefts, but Mei Lu is positive of her father's integrity but she's not so sure about her brother who heads up the Hong Kong branch of the business.

There are a few twists and turns to this story that were a surprise. Keeping her suspicions of her brother from Cullen nearly costs Mei Lu their growing relationship. Trust to Cullen is everything.

Women in Blue Multi-Author Series

These are the stories of six women who find each other at the Houston Police Academy. Catherine takes five young women under her instruction and teaches them not only the skills they will need to be good cops, but skills they will need to survive in the very male police department. The women become fast friends and stick up for each other, until Catherine is promoted to Police Chief and when one of them is accused of wrong doing in her partner's death on the job.

This story would have been so much better served had it been in the Harlequin Intrigue line and not SuperRomance. Way too much filler. Too many secondary characters from the continuity series that don't really serve any other purpose other than to be "walk-ons." Also the hero's two annoying-beyond-words twins HAD. TO. GO. The ending to the mystery may have been OK had the author spent any time developing said mystery - but since she didn't? The whole thing felt like it came out of left field. Blah.
