YOU CAN'T STOP WHAT YOU CAN'T SEE... A NEW KIND OF WAR NEEDS A NEW KIND OF WEAPON-AND A NEW BREED OF WARRIOR. Deep in the Nevada desert, the latest evolution in modern warfare is being tested. The 201st Special Operations Wing is home to the new Strikemasters-C-17 transport planes converted into stealth-skinned airborne arsenals. Manned by ace pilots and technicians, and carrying a lethal complement of Abrams tanks, all-terrain fighting vehicles, combat helicopters, and boots-on-the-ground troopers, the Strikemasters are the ultimate fast-moving, hard-hitting weapon. And they are about to test their limits. A group of al Qaeda marauders has mercilessly destroyed a "forbidden" school for girls in the lawless mountains of Pakistan and abducted the aid workers. They plan to kill their hostages and sell the footage to the highest bidder. In their mountain stronghold, the captors think they are safe from any attack. The Strikemasters are about to prove them wrong...

Set during the Global War On Terror, this book tells the story 0f a mixed team of pilots, Marines, Tankers and soldiers who have to learn to operate together. Flying 3 highly secret and highly modified C-17 aircraft, they must develop a plan to rescue 6 American hostages from an Afghan terror group before videos of their be-headings reach the media.
Mack Maloney has written several stories like this, where a group of diverse individuals must learn to operate as a team. It's over the top, far-fetched, and yet still has a ring of possible authenticity to it. The technology could quite possibly exist, and the integration of different units together is nothing new.
It's a popcorn book.. simply leave your brain at home, and enjoy the ride.
