During the ongoing Sudanese-Akkadian war, two orphans discover they have magic in a nation where magic is illegal. Volya, a street urchin and thief, must rise to power to quench his thirst for revenge. Nassa, a reclusive orphan forced to serve her uncle, must deny her magic to preserve her life. When the two unexpectedly meet, they can no longer escape their pasts. They set off to discover their futures in a world of romance, vengeance, intrigue and adventure.
This book is incredible. I read it in two days and could not put it down. The author did an amazing job of taking me into a different world and I can’t wait for book 2!! It is very well written and I fell in love with the characters. I highly recommend to all readers.
This boooookkk! A must read. If you love fantasy or if you’ve never read a fantasy book this is the perfect book. It is well written and it really takes you into a world you won’t want to leave. I can’t wait for book 2!
This book was so so so good!!! I loved Volya’s sassy and prideful attitude but even more I loved that Nassa, a girl, holds the most power. I feel like book one just scrapes the surface of what an incredible series this will be. I can’t wait for the second book!!!!
I just finished reading The Road Thieves and liked it so much!! Both main characters, Nassa and Volya, have depth and development that makes them fascinating to follow along in their journeys. The only downfall is that the next book in the series isn’t out yet because I can tell that this is set up to get even more gripping and exciting in the sequel. A solid 4.5 star read (rounded up because I love supporting debut authors 🎉).
Wow! I couldn’t put this one down. I was so absorbed into this fantastical world. Each chapter has you rooting for the characters and on the edge of your seat. A must read for anyone who enjoys mystery, magic, and mischief. Can’t wait for more!
Great book! The book sweeps you away into the lives of these two orphans, so immersing you that the next thing you know, you’ve finished the book! Cant wait to read the next one.
