The enticing questions -- Why do glowworms glow? Which insects wear armor? Why do bees dance? -- will amaze, amuse, and inspire any child who is fascinated by bugs.
This book was awesome. The way that it was set up was very interesting to me - each subtopic was a question that many people ask. There were multiple illustrations to go with each question and every page had a specific theme that it covered. In this small informative book, there is a ton of information! You read about creepy-crawlies, what classifies an insect and a bug, how spiders work, what an insect feels with its feelers, which insects taste with their toes, the process of caterpillars to butterflies, which insects make the best/worst mothers, which insects wear armor, why bees live in hives, different insect homes, and so much more. My favorite fact that I read in this book is that the poison of a black widow spider is 15 times deadlier than a rattlesnake's. You could easily have this book set out and available in your classroom for your students to use as a reference when talking about bugs and insects in general. Since there is not one specific bug/insect talked about, students will have to choose what they want to learn about and continue their education over it.
