AHHHH!!! This turned out to be one of those that you just want to throw the book by the end of it or at least I wanted to, but I didn’t have a book to throw and can’t afford to replace my electronic devices.
I was gapping like a fish out of water at the end. Oh my no not the poor fish. Aquatic death trigger warning.
First make sure to check those triggers. This book does containing dark themes. You have been warned. Everyone is morally grey except for the kid and fish. The journey this author takes the reader on is … ouch. I’m craving the next book. I got blindsided by the ending and need my questions answered.
Give me the next book now NIK ROBBINS! Cheating, manipulation, spice, cute kid, revenge plot. Yep this book has it.

What a debut! And what an amazing rollercoaster to ride is this book. All the emotions and the things happening had me on edge. I couldn't put this book down and read it in a day! I have laughed, I have cried and I wanted to punch things while reading. So yeah, well done author!
While we read most of this book from Thena's POV some chapters were from others and it made the book soo good! The development from Thena, was well written and the storyplot was amazing! That ending!?! I want book 2 ASAP!
If you love your books with trigger warnings, a bit of a dark romance, husbands best friend, banana play 🍌 and friends to lovers, you'll gonna love this one!

When I thought I had things figured out towards the end, Nik Robbins threw yet another plot twist at us and I was left flailing once more to understand what the hecks was going on!! I love romantic suspenses that make me feel like that🤭
There are so many things I loved about this book, notably: Kye and his possessiveness that started very early on, the alternative timelines and the love Thena had for Tobias.
However, there were also some things I didn’t like: how Thena sometimes treated Kye, which made it hard for me to like me her at times, and what felt like a plot hole to me after chapter 29. However, whenever I found myself wanting something (ex: more background to better understand Kye & Thena’s history) we would end up getting it later in the book than I had expected.
So, I can’t help but feel like certain aspects that I felt were missing are going to be expanded upon in book 2 soo
Overall, this is a book that will keep you hooked, ESPECIALLY from chapters 27 onwards.
If you like your romances with smut, suspense & an attentive MMC, you’re going to want to pick this one up!!

For some reason I just couldn’t bring myself to DNF this book. But I really should have! So many good reviews about a twist ending & I somehow thought it could redeem itself. Spoiler alert…. It didn’t.
Ugh. So many things I couldn’t stand!
Such a weak FMC. Your husband has been cheating on you since before you were married & you just accepted that?! The only time you cared about it was when your 8 year old found out about it? This woman had no backbone whatsoever. No thank you.
A friend group of women in their 30’s who address each other as “whore” and “bitches”. No thank you.
Her husband complained about her being “too tight” 😂😂😂. No thank you.
Her husband putting her Childs fish in the blender as revenge? No thank you.
The MMC’s nickname for her was “brat”. No thank you.
This was just all over the place with not enough character development to even care about what was happening. It was so important to her to stay married for the sake of her son. But she was a single mom before she married him. And he was a terrible father to her child. Why was it so important to “give” him a father? It’s not his biological father & he treated her son like crap! She was “so close” to her friends and yet they never noticed the problems in her marriage?
Not to mention the relationship between the FMC & MMC came out of no where. She turned him down 5 years ago when he offered to get her out of her marriage (right after she literally caught him in bed with another woman) and she turned him down. But now all of a sudden she’s all over him?
The “twist” was just a mess. What even happened? Like literally?
I’m going to assume all the good reviews were paid for. This was truly awful.

5 darn ⭐️’s all the way!!! Emotional, gripping edge of your seat and suspenseful book! Ugh!

When writing these review I always feel like there is so much I want to say but yet I don't know what to say. So I ask myself what would I want to know about this book to convince me to read it? This is an ex hubby's bestfriend , friends to lovers, darkish romance. You have to read the trigger warnings because there is emotional/verbal abuse. Stalking in a very non sexy way and psycho behaviors. If you are looking for a book that has spice but if that spice was removed you would still be pulled into the story and want to keep reading this is a book you would love. The twist and turns are crazy and had me stopping a few time to re-read what I just read because I so shocked. Also this is an emotional ride and you should expect to cry, want to scream and punch a few characters, laugh, as well as just need to sit and remind yourself that these characters are not real.
Now my favorite part to review is the spice. Not only is this book a 5/5 star but it is also a 5/5 on the spice scale. I had to write a few of the quotes down that were spoke during spice parts that lit me on fire and had to be sharing with my hubby. I think the reason the spice felt so hot to me was because the moments and things the characters were saying and feeling felt relatable. They felt real to you and made you feel connected and invested in this story.
THIS BOOK ENDS ON A KILLER CLIFFHANGER!
No you probably will not be okay and want to throw the book because you need to know what will happen next right now but man the ride on the emotional rollercoaster was worth it.

Wow, this book caught me off guard and really put you through an emotional roller-coaster. Cheating Husband's best friend, friends to Lovers, stalking, Strong FMC, Forbidden Love, and dark pasts that none of the characters can escape(the end, OMG!)
As I'm not usually a fan, I took a chance and was fortunate enough to get an ARC. PLEASE CHECK YOUR TRIGGER WARNINGS.
Robbins does an outstanding job faking you connect and fall in live with all of her characters. Thena is one badass female who is not going to let anyone and anything get between her and her son, Tobias. Toby is an adorable little genius who is well beyond his young years and keeps the story going with his humor and aquatic pets. (The blender scene almost made me 🤢, <-TW!) And then there is Kye Kincaid...🥵 that's all I feel I need to say.
If you are a fan of Dark Romance and heart breaking Revenge that will rip your heart out, with twists and turns (I did not see the end happening, and who was working with who...🤯) then One More Time is the book for you!

Another Arc done.
The spice was just right - not too much to make it weird and just enough to make you swoon.
This book helped me get out of a reading slump as well so eternally thankful for that.
I can’t believe Nic did this. Made me fall in love with Kye and now I’m like ahahhahaha
The pain and heartbreak this book put Thena through was so well written it made me feel like I was going through it.
My baby Tobias!!! I love the little dude and the way he was so proud of his charcuterie board and his fishies - adorable!!
Mitchell can go die in a hole. I don’t care what he does or how he tries to redeem himself. That idjit needs to go and I won’t hear accept anything else.

I got the chance to read the arc for this book. Oh my God what a ride it was. I laughed out loud alot. It was also emotional. I felt for the FMC and what she was going through. I did fall in love with the side male character until a twist happens. I can't recommend this book enough. Please check your trigger warnings.

Like what in the twisty twist. I wasn’t expecting this. Feeling all the feel currently. Umm I’m still collecting my thoughts. No HEA yet…. I don’t know if I still love Kye. Mitchell is straight trash. Cliffhangers physically hurt me. I like books tied up with a bow so hopefully book two will give it to me. The writing in the debut novel is amazing! Nik is beyond talented to get all these feelings out of people.

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!! Where do I start! Trigger warnings I guess… take note of them before reading as it is everything it promises to be and so much more.
I felt all the emotions. I felt the heat. The whole book just flowed so well that you didn’t have time for distractions or life. Life became about finishing this book, even though I’m now left with questions and needing the next book NOW haha…
The spice was spicy, the mind play was there, the plot twists left me needing more. Kye Kincaid is 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ and his love for Thena is simply beautiful.

Oh. My. God. I am at loss for words! There was so much love, pain, and betrayal in this story! I devoured every word. The plot, story line and characters were beautifully crafted and written. But that cliff hanger left me feral! I need to know what happens next.

OMG! This has everything that I didn't know that I needed! Nik Robbins broke me down & gracefully started placing the delicate pieces back together. I definitely recommend taking the day off from work after finishing this book to recover! The way the author pulled me into the story... It felt like I was the MC. I absolutely need book 2 to drop ASAP!

Oh boy, this story is a hell of a ride. It has so many upheavals and blind turns. It's like the author made it her mission to mess with readers minds.
Every chapter was like... Wait, There's More!!
Characters are volatile, have a troubled life. Esp Mitchell and Thena.
"Life, like the river, can cut through the hardest parts of us. Against our consent, suffering carves lessons into our souls and we carry them for the rest of our lives. "
They're both trapped in a loveless marriage, with a child right in the middle of the spitting war. Which doesn't stop Mitchell from having a run through series of affairs. One with practically their neighbour.
He was the most hated character.
Thena was indecisive, cause she has a baby to take care of. But all the stuff that happened, makes her fear for her life and most importantly, tobias's life. Her spirit to fight back surfaces from time to time, but events happen at warp speed and she's left holding on to her dear child
Saviour Kye Kincaid steps in at the right moments.
But something sinister in lurking in the murky waters beneath the bridge. As hurricane events pick up speed, Nik throws a big twister!!!! WTF
It ends on a bridge or a cliffy.....

O.M.G This book! Man, this book not only did it take me longer to read but it also took me longer to even gather my thoughts to even write a review. When I tell you that it left my mind all scrambled at the end is a total understatement.
I've found that anytime that I'm reading a book that involves DV in it. Whether it's emotional, mental or physical abuse it makes me take a pause to reflect on how a person can lose themselves during the relationship. And the amount of strength it takes for them to finally break the cycle to walk away even knowing that's a lot of times walking away doesn't always mean you will be a free person. Specially when kids are involved.
This book will have you in a rollercoaster of emotions. You will get betrayal. Tears of sadness and happiness. A mother's strength to protect her child. Lies that will be uncovered. And for me the loss of trusting someone. The cliffy left me with So.Many.Questions.

I was so excited when I received this ARC copy. The book sounded great, with lots of promise.
Unfortunately, for me anyway, it was okay, but fell short of its full potential.
The MFC was actually a great character. She was a single mother, independent and a great attitude for life. Then she gets married and her personality changes. Bear in mind this is not her fault, and I only have empathy for anyone who has been through it.
Once she manages to get rid of said 🛎end does she start to become more her old self again.
There are 2 MMC, the 1st is her husband, a complete 💩 who treats her awfully.
The 2nd is his old buddy who has always loved her since seeing her in a bookshop many years before and helps her escape her husband and shows her what love should be.
Now you're thinking this sounds like a typical romance with the hero helping the damsel in distress. Well, that's not the case. There is a massive twist, which I can safely say I did not see coming.
I found the last 1/4 of the book quite confusing and the ending seemed really rushed, and I'm not actually sure what the deal is with it. I have sooooo many questions.
There is a good deal of spice thrown in this book as well, but it's woven into the story nicely.
The writing was easy to get into and I liked the style of her writing. I would read another of Niks books, but I NEED answers first! Please!

My mind is blown. What a magnificent debut!
This book starts off simple. A woman in a loveless marriage with an abusive husband falls hard for the man who is helping her escape the relationship. Throw in some shockingly good spicy times, and you've got yourself an easy, peasy read that is just like every other dark romance out there, right?
Wrong!
Robbins weaves a tale like a master storyteller. There is NOTHING simple here, and as you dive deeper into the love, the history, and the wicked web of lies (both to themselves and to others), you QUICKLY realize that Robbins has crafted a wholly unique story that is like nothing else in the genre today.
The phenomenally executed trail of clues, and that superb ending, makes me feel as if there is something bigger at play. Some nefarious grand plan where Thena is the key. The book leaves the reader trusting no one. Not the love interest. Not the friends. Not the ex or the in-laws.
Please check your triggers. There were moments so well written that I physically recoiled and sniffed the air as if I, myself, were truly in the room with the characters. I won't be able to make my morning smoothies without that scene popping into my head, so thanks for that.
And I definitely will not be able to enjoy my afternoon banana snack without giggling. Double thanks there.
I can't wait for the second book. If it's anything like the first, we're all in for another wild ride.

This book made me laugh, cry, scream and want to throw my phone and throw up at one point... Without a doubt it kept be glued to me screen wanting to know more. I loved watching and seeing how Kye and Thena's relationship grew, they way Kye protects and takes care of Thena just melts my heart. I cannot wait for the next book because I have to know how this ends!! Also Mitchell is a d!ck!!
Nik Robbins you have made me a fan for life!! Can we talk about the 🍌 please? 🤣🤣

I’m late on reviewing this buttttt… omg! Everything I want to type will be spoilers!!
We follow our main character Thena as she struggling in her marriage. She is trapped in a psychologically abusive marriage to Mitchell and has finally decided to get out. She’s been methodically collecting evidence to use against him once she formally files for divorce. But, nothing is easy when there’s a child involved. She enlists the help of an “old friend”… Kye!
Kye, who was once best friends with Mitchell, comes to Thena’s aid when dealing with the matters of this divorce.
I can’t say much more. I’ll give too much away if I do. RUNNN and check this one out! Read your TW’s! And then take the jump and give it a chance! You won’t regret it!!!
I was hanging on every sentence… never word! I was able to see some parts coming, but holy h€ll did I not expect those last few chapters!
I ended up screaming “WTF” and “why” at 3am when I finished this book!!!! So well written! No I start the agonizing wait for book 2 to release!

Wow! This book had me hooked from the first page. I was lucky enough to be a part of the early readers and I am so happy with this book. This book was hot 🥵🥵🥵🥵 there were so many scenes I was curling my own toes in want! Pool, shower, the pantry!!!!! It was so beautifully written and I do recommend checking the trigger warnings. I don't get triggered by things and I've been through a lot as a kid and adult. I can feel the triggers wanting to come forth but they didn't bother me. But with that being said it's like Nik Robbins opened the door but didn't push us through. She allows us to decide if we are stepping through the door to experience the triggers in person or more just being a viewer. The story of Mitchell, Thena and Kye is one you will definitely want to read. The twist at the end was not one I was expecting and when Nik Robbins says everyone is morally grey in this story she was not kidding. This is definitely a must read and I highly recommend it.

Okay so I didn’t see the plot twist coming. Threw me for a loop. The ending has my mind blown. I set my book down and had to take a couple mins to comprehend what I read. I enjoyed this book so much!
This Contemporary Romance is an intense read. The book itself is not necessarily dark, but there are some darker elements. Heed those trigger warnings!
The Romance is a quick burn, with a second chance at love.
The book is spicy, be aware that the scenes are intriguingly descriptive.
The book moves at fairly steady pace. The book follows the MCs rekindling a connection as she works her way through a divorce. The divorce is a rough one with lots of challenges she has to overcome. The book does end on a cliffhanger.
The characters are written with distinguished personalities, each helping to add to the intensity of the book.
The world is set in contemporary times, making it easy to slip into the story.

Wow, this book caught me off guard and will really put you through an emotional roller-coaster.
Robbins does an outstanding job making you connect and fall in live with all of her characters. Thena is one badass female who is not going to let anyone or anything get between her and her son, Tobias. Toby is an adorable little genius who is well beyond his young years and keeps the story going with his humor and aquatic pets. (The blender scene almost broke me) And then there is Kye Kincaid.. that's all I feel I need to say. If you are a fan of Dark Romance and heart breaking Revenge that will rip your heart out, with twists and turns (I did not see the end happening, and who was working with who...) then this book is for you. With the cliffhanger at the end I cant wait for book 2 to see what happens and who all survives.

🥹 First I wanna say that this book and cliffhanger absolutely wrecked me, yet it was phenomenal. This book I swear holds my heart at the moment. This book was everything I didn’t know I needed. The plot and spice was amazing throughout this story. Poor Thena and Toby, they went through so much that they did not deserve. My heart broke for them so many times. Now let’s talk about Kye 😩🥵 He is the definition of a book boyfriend. He is sweet, caring, has a filthy mouth that makes me hot and never stops showing Thena how much he loves her. He helps her heal, and I just love the way he cares for Toby…. And then a major twist happens that I did not for the life of me see coming. I know I have no choice but to wait for book 2 to come out, however I need it ASAP! I am not okay after reading this. 100% recommend reading this !!!

Marriage, infidelity, domestic violence-- and betrayal you don't see coming !
I think this is the author's debut novel. The writing can be a little awkward, transitions within scenes switch up moods very quickly, the dialogue can be a little awkward, the switch to sex scenes happens very quickly. But the betrayal at the end is enough to make me want the second book - like now. I will be very curious how this betrayal is explained, and if there are any redeeming characters at all. I hope we don't have to wait too long.
