A nicely done story with world building characters and a fascinating storyline that captures your attention from the first chapter and keeps you hooked and turning the pages until the end. A fast paced, quick read, short and spicy story. This is Jackson and Gwen story. The story is told from a dual point of view.

Gwen a.k.a. angel is twenty-two year old recent college graduated and a mortgage loan officer at the oldest bank in her hometown. She has finally gotten her own place after getting out from under her overbearing parents. Gwen had always wanted to work at the bank since she was seven years old after she had accompanied her her dad. Her dad had warned her about working at that old bank, with it's lax and often failing security features. Gwen was working on a mortgage loan application in her office when co-worker Debbie interrupt her and asked her for some help at on the floor because they were short staff and Stacy needed to take her lunch. She saved her work and went out on the floor. She quickly went to the teller station and offered to help the next customer in line. There was a tall sharply dressed man with raven hair and green eyes, who looked to be in his late thirties or early forties who came up to her counter. Despite his clean cut appearance, she noticed that there's something off about him that made her uneasy. But nevertheless she forced a smile to her lips and asked if she can help him. He returned the smile and she couldn't stop the uncomfortable shiver that runs up her spine.
He man told her that he would like to open a safety deposit box. As he he speaks, he leans one elbow on the counter,and her eyes was drawn to his hand where she noticed a very distinctive large tattoo of the tail of a snake in black and yellow ink that disappeared up his sleeve. She asked for his ID and input into the system. She and Mr. Devon Krait then went inside safety deposit box vaulte and she left him with his assigned box for some privacy because he said he wanted to put something inside of it. She decided to check some email as she waited. It was taken him a long time than normal and she was wondering what's the hold up, then suddenly she her the sounds of shouting coming from down the hall in the lobby. She pushed away from the wall to go on check because it was only Debbie in the lobby. But she was only able to make it two steps before an arm wraps around her waist and pulls her back against a broad, hard body. As she opens her mouth to scream he whispers in a low voice. "Dont make a sound I don't want to hurt you." He then pressed a gun against her temple. He wanted her master key, he was looking for something specific in one of the boxes. He send her back to the lobby with the gun pointed on her with the rest people while he rifles the the boxes. As she enters the lobby she came face-to-face to two other men wearing balaclavas and holding large rifles with everyone face down on the ground. She was told to get down with the others, then suddenly the sound of the alarm. It was the emergency exit door in the back of the bank. The two masked men run towards the hallway he had just came from and escaped.
The police came and Gwen gave them an accurate description of the tattoo man in the vault since she was with him for a while and sit with a sketch artist. Her sketch was able to help the police positively identify and apprend the main suspect based on her description of him and the tattoo on his arm and he was now in jail. But his two accomplices are still at large. The suspect had given her an ID with the name Devon Krait but his real name is Samuel Kemp. He's the leader of the Hunts Point Kraits, a gang that's been trying to expand their territory in the area. Their call sign is a banded Krait, a type of poisonous snake with black and yellow stripes. Gwen is now in danger, the gang won't hesitate to go after the one person who can put Kemp in prison. She's in need of protection. Matthew Riddle is the officer working on the case he doesn't want anything to happen to Gwen. He wants protection for her against the gang but his superior doesn't believe it's worthy. His brother Jackson Riffles a.k.a. Jax is a former Marine who has recently been discharged about a year. He calls him and asks him if he can be her bodyguard. He consult for security companies as a bodyguard from time to time. Gwen is in need of bodyguard after caught someone following her plus they broke into her apartment. Matthew knows that Jax can protect her, he's the only one he trust plus he's not associated with the case and can take her somewhere where they can't find her until they apprend the other suspects.
From the moment Jax saw her it was lust-at-first-sight and he thought that she was an ethereal angel. He had only just met her and he can't explain the possessive feeling that grabs him by the throat and threatens to choke him if he don't claim her. The feral need to fight anyone who dares look at her is strong, it undo him and all he can say is Mine! I wants her. I want to preserve her innocence as much as I want to corrupt it. He agrees to to help and took her to his cabin in the mountain, a place where only his brother know of. Jax is thirty-four blue-eyed mammoth with long hair that falls to his shoulders, and hard body that looks like it's carved from marble. Gwen was immediately attracted to the giant of a man and her core was doing things that she has never encountered before. He's very quiet while Gwen constantly chatter. They're both having impure thoughts about each other but Jax thinks that he's to old for her. He suffers from PTSD after being in the war and watching and losing his comrades. He has horrific nightmares evernight of the sound gunshots and pained cries in his nightmares.
He was sleeping and the horrific nightmares woke up Gwen in the next room. She rushed into his room to wake. Usually when he has them he would go for a run in the city. But because he was protecting her and in the mountains he can't leave her. Gwen wanted to help ease his pain so she gave herself to him. She gave him the precious gift of her virginity. He from he claimed her that she was his and wanted to breed her to tie her to him and know that he would burn down the earth if someone tried to take her from him or hurt her. The two could not keep their hands off each other. Their chemistry was magnetic and scorching hot. They embarked on a relationship that Jax wanted to continue once they got back to the city. They were happy in the mountains, but a misunderstanding caused a rift in their happiness when Gwen overhear Jax on the phone telling him to hurry up and solve the case so that Gwen can get back to her life. She thinks that he lied to her when he told her that she was his and now he wants to get rid of her so she started to give him the silent treatment.
They went back to city because his brother had apprend the other guys but the main suspect got away during transport and now Gwen is in danger. Gwen walked right into her apartment and the perpetrator was waiting for her to teach her a lesson. But her man was there to rescue her and plummet the suspect like an animal. Jax beating the man turned Gwen on he took her back to his apartment and they had their intense rough and fast sex just like she likes before the police comes to take their statements. Fast forward one year later the two had a beautiful little girl and he has a successful security company business and they still have the hots for each other.

A novella with amazing characters that’s a page turner which is also easy to read. A perfect steamy romance that turns into a happily ever after ending.
A young woman who works in a bank and an ex-Marine fall for one another after they look into each other’s eyes. The ex-Marine has been asked by his brother who is a police officer if he could guard the young woman, she saw a bank robber and identified him for the police and the rest of the bank robbers have not been caught yet also they robbers are part of a gang.
The ex-Marine takes the young woman up in the forest to a cabin that he owns that he uses to get away from the city but hasn’t used it in a while. The first night at the cabin the ex Marine has one of his nightmares about when he was still in the service and the young woman comes to his bedroom to help calm him down but soon they wind up being more, they kiss and he winds up giving her oral sex. The ex Marine finds out that she’s a virgin but neither of the two can’t stop what they want so they have sex.
During the next week the two go on hikes, fish and enjoy one another's company as well as have sex alot more. The ex-Marine talks to his brother, the police officer about how much longer it will take for them to arrest the rest of the robbers but the young woman overhears the conversation and thinks the ex-Marine wants her gone even though he tells her that she is his. That night she locks herself in her bedroom and won’t come out. That night the ex-Marine had another bad nightmare even though since he started sleeping with the young woman he has not had any nightmares. The young woman hears the ex-Marine and goes to him soothing him before going back to her room.
The next morning the ex-Marine has a migraine and tries to talk to the young woman during breakfast but is interrupted by his phone going off. The brother tells them that the rest of the robbers have been arrested so they can come back to the city. The young woman goes to pack her things without telling the ex-Marine what is wrong. The young woman sleeps while they drive back to the city and once they get to her apartment building she wakes and gets ready to leave the vehicle, the ex-Marine stops her but before much is said he gets a phone call from his brother and she gets out of the vehicle running to her apartment building.
The brother informs the ex-Marine about the robber that the young woman identified has escaped. When the young woman gets into her apartment she’s relieved to be home but she’s heartbroken. She wants to eat ice cream but before she’s able to she notices her apartment has been destroyed and the robber who had her at gunpoint is there. The ex-Marine comes beating the robber, the young woman gets him to stop before he kills him. The ex-Marine takes her to his apartment and calls his brother telling him where they are at. The ex-Marine tells the young woman how he feels, he gives her oral sex and then they have sex, they tell one another how much they love one another.
A year later the couple is married and has a daughter. The ex-Marine has his own security business and he has ex fighters working for him. The ex-Marine is in the ring with his brother, he gets distracted when his wife comes in and his brother hits him before leaving to get ready for a date. After his brother leaves the ex-Marine takes the young woman to his office where they have sex before they go to have lunch.
The ex-Marine loves his wife and daughter. He knows that he and his wife have the rest of their lives to be together.

Gwen knew from being a little girl that she wanted to work at the old bank in her hometown, getting the job as the loan officer was literally her dream job, but when she is taken hostage during a robbery, it has suddenly changed from being a dream to a nightmare. Gwen is the only one that saw the face of the man running the team and suddenly finds herself back in danger when the police make their move. Now they know who Gwen is and there is nothing that they won’t do stop her from identifying them. Gwen soon finds herself hiding in a remote cabin with an ex-marine and the detective working her case, brother Jax. Gwen feels drawn to him and the chemistry between them escalates to feelings that she has never felt before and was under the impression that he felt the same but when she overhears a conversation that he has with his brother, her heart shatters. Will Gwen find out how Jax really feels about her or will the danger that she fears find her before she gets her HEA?

Jax has been discharged from the marines and haunted by the dreams of his last mission went disastrously wrong, fighting away the images that plague him at the gym is the way that he is surviving each and every day, so when his brother approaches him and asks for his help in keeping a witness safe he wants to say no but one look at Gwen and he can feel his demons settle in a way that he never thought was possible. Locking them away in his secluded and secure cabin gives him all the time to realize that she is the one that was meant for him and the bond between them grows, and his nightmares seem to quiet, but when Gwen starts to pull away from him and he realizes that he is about to lose his one will he reach her in time or will the danger that he was protecting her from be closer than they think?

I loved this one but maybe not as much as the others I felt like Gwen should have expressed herself to Jax rather than just ignore the issue but that doesn’t take away from the chemistry that these two characters have, as always it was off the charts. 4.3*

Gwen is working at a bank when it's robbed. After the fact, she gives her statement to the police but the authorities don't think she's in enough danger to go into witness protection. The police officer believes she is so he reaches out to the only person he trusts, his brother - Jax. He's an ex-marine who is now a security consultant. When the cop asks Jax to watch over Gwen as a bodyguard (even though that's not his job) he says yes as he feels an instant connection with her.

Taking her to a secluded place that only his brother knows about, their chemistry shines bright, and there isn't a chance of keeping their hands off each other!! He's a dirty talker and knows what he's doing! She's a v but wants to give it up to him as she trusts him for some reason.

When they finally catch the guys they can go back home something happens putting Gwen in danger again!

I liked that he was super protective of her and became all "mine"!! She was very receptive to him and in the face of danger, she showed courage and didn't back down.

This is a quick, fun & very steamy novella. I am enjoying this whole series

While the previous book in the series is still my favorite, this one was still good. The FMC is a recent college graduate, working her dream job at an aging bank, when it gets robbed. She was the robber’s teller, so she was the one who could identify him. Her safety is at risk, so the cop on the case asks his brother, the MMC to help protect her. He’s not really a bodyguard, but he was in the military, is a boxer/mma fighter, and a security consultant.

The FMC is kind of whiny and the MMC is really, really intense, but together they just work. They connect very quickly and I love them together. They have a hiccup that happens due to a lack of communication, but eventually things work out. Despite the MMC’s PTSD, he’s still great for her. She’s also great for him, she’s a bit of a balm to his soul.

There’s a bit of steam, some danger, but we get our HEA. I recommend the read if you like the series!

Her Devoted Warrior by Cassi Hart is the fifth book in the Someone to Fight For Series. I have loved every single one of these books and I don't favor one over the other. Cassi continues to deliver original stories that are not boring, but more importantly there is no repetitiveness in any of her books. This is a quality I feel is hard to find in an author who consistently publishes a large volume of quick easy read books. Her Devoted Warrior was a very entertaining read with plenty of steam and characters who were easy to like. I am super excited to read the final book in this series.

Gwen is a bank teller who finds herself in need of protection after positively identifying one of the perpetrators who robbed the bank she works at. Jax's brother who is a police officer talks him into being her bodyguard until everyone involved is taken into custody. Out in the middle of nowhere at Jax's cabin these two find themselves taking comfort in one another's arms. Jax makes Gwen feel safe and she helps him find peace with reoccurring nightmares that plague him. What will happen when they return to their normal everyday lives?

Cassi Hart does it again ❤️ Her novellas are steamy instalove goodness that leave you satisfied.

Gwen (22) is a loan officer at the bank she has loved to visit since she was a child. During her workday, the bank is robbed and while she was left unharmed, her description of the leader's face and tattoos lead to his apprehension. He refuses to name his accomplices which leads the officer on her case to recognize that she is in danger.

The officer reaches out to his ex military brother Jax (35) asking him to protect her while they track down the remaining criminals in the gang. Although Jax is reluctant in the beginning, he cannot help but to accept when he sees Gwen, triggering a fierce sense of protectiveness in him.

During their stay in a cabin isolated in the woods, these two explore their chemistry and learn more about each other. Gwen offers him comfort when he suffers through his horrible nightmares as a result of his PTSD and Gwen feels safe in his arms.

The steamy scenes are both sweet and hot as Jax leads her through her first time and she discovers her pleasure. Gwen wonders what will become of their relationship once the danger passes and if they will still be together.
Read and find out, you can't go wrong with a Cassi Hart novella.

I definitely recommend this spicy little novella and will be reading it again multiple times and cannot wait to read the other stories in the series ❤️

That is Jax and Gwen's story, book 5 from "Someone to fight for" series. Gwen is an overprotected girl, loved and shy that just started living her life. She gets involved in a bank robbery and identifies the culprit. Jax is an ex Marine that was asked to protect Gwen until the robbery gang is all behind bars.

So they live in a forest cabin for a few days. The sparks and instant attraction between them is strong from the first time they layed their eyes to each other. And when Jax needs protection from his nightmares, Gwen is there to cast the away, with all her shyness, beauty, need, sexiness....This beaten up warrior can't resist her for long, since his PTSD had already broke his walls enough, and this girls care and softness and kindness did the absolute demolition on those said walls. And after this point things get hot, very hot, scorching hot and she becomes his , his savior, his angel, his everything.

A goodread, quick and to the point, with little drama,a misunderstanding that leads to confession time and of course a HEA.

The books in this series are all interconnected. We see Gunnar in this book. We find out that Dawn is the younger sister of our heroine Gwen.

This book was interesting. Gwen is put into protective custody of Jax after a bank robbery at the bank where she works.
Jax is retired military and the brother of the policeman assigned to her case.
He takes her away to his isolated mountain cabin for protection, and then we are off…
It’s a pretty intense night as Jax suffers from PTSD and Gwen is frightened of her circumstances.
They come together as comfort and they explore their attraction.
Good story, with plenty of heat and some real romance.
This series has been especially interesting from mafia to cage fighters to boxers and now retired military.
I’ve enjoyed this series and Cassi Hart continues to write well plotted, well written books.

Jax has been figuring things out since he left the military; he has terrible nightmares and PTSD from all he witnessed, but he reluctantly agrees to help.
Gwen was so sweet when she heard Jax was having a nightmare. She wanted to comfort and hug him.
Sparks fly instantly between these two, and they can't keep their hands off each other.

I can't wait to read the next book, Her Twisted Protector, which tells the story of Alia and Lennon.

Gwen is a 22 year old loan officer at the bank. Jax is a 35 year old ex-marine turned security expert and boxer. When Gwen is held at gunpoint while the bank is robbed, she becomes a target since she can identify the culprit. The sheriff asks his brother Jax to be Gwen's bodyguard/ protector until they are able to catch the criminals, and he agrees. The two are instantly attracted to each other. He takes her to his secluded cabin and sparks fly. Gwen is a virgin, and Jax is only too happy to claim her. Can he keep her safe? Their chemistry was hot enough to cause a forest fire. We do have some drama and angst, but then we got an amazing HEA. I love this series so much!!.

I loved this super sweet and adorable instalove novella! But with his cronies still at large, Gwen's suddenly in hot water, prompting the intervention of a protective, ex-military man named Jax, courtesy of the investigating officer's brotherly connection.

Whisked away to a secluded cabin in the woods, Gwen and Jax's initial wariness transforms into a steamy exploration of attraction as they grow closer, sharing vulnerabilities and comforts. Jax, grappling with PTSD, finds solace in Gwen's presence, and Gwen discovers a new sense of security in his arms. I absolutely loved that Gwen’s presence calmed Jax’s nightmares.

Gwen is working in the bank when there is a hostage situation; because of her unique position she is able to identify the perps, the local cops feel she still needs some protection while the other guys are at large but the big guns won't approve it, so the main guy Matthew calls his brother Jax to help keep Gwen safe. Of course Gwen and Jax quickly fall for each other, but Gwen is a noob at relationships and things go a little off course after a night of passion.

I loved how Gwen was always ready to be there for Jax and that Jax saved her in the nick of time. They were really sweet together and sexy too. I really enjoyed this book, I think it was the best from the series so far, although I'm really looking forward to Matthew's story now!.

I love reading Cassi Hart books! They are always so wonderful. This book just adds to her fantastic collection of written books.
In this book, Gwen is a loan officer at a bank that is robbed. Because she was able to identify the leader of the group, her life is in danger until the rest of the robbers are caught. Officer Matthew wants her protected but the higher ups do not agree. So, Matthew goes to his brother Jax, a former military man that will often consult for a security firm.
At first, Jax refuses but after seeing and feeling drawn to Gwen, he agrees. Taking her to a secluded cabin in the mountains, Jax and Gwen get to know each other. There, Gwen learns of Jax’s nightmares from his time in the military. Gwen offers him comfort while he offers her protection.
I completely fell in love with this book! It is a definite must read!

Gwen works at a bank and she is caught up in a bank robbery and she is the only person who got a good look at one of the robbers. The police officer working the case goes to his brother, Jax, to help keep her safe while they track down the people responsible. Jax takes Gwen to his cabin to hid out and protector her from the danger she faces.

This is a short Instalove romance that features a ex military hero with nightmares and an innocent 20 something heroine who is in unexpected danger by only being at the wrong place at the wrong time. Gwen decides she needs to save Jax too and tries to soothe his nightmares while they get to know each other while hiding out. I like this story, it was cute, probably a little too short but definitely a quick steamy read with cute characters.

Age-Gap Protector

Gwen is working at the bank as a loan officer when a bank heist occurs. As a witness who can identify the suspect, she needs more protection than the police can provide. One of the police officers enlists his older brother’s help.

Jax is a retired marine that suffers from PTSD. The last thing he wants or needs is to be a babysitter for a crime witness. Until he meets Gwen and then he realizes she’s the one person who can heal and complete him. Now nothing or nobody will ever hurt her again. Not on his watch.

Really loved the protective element here with an older man, younger woman. She’s an innocent and he’s her battle hardened warrior. Great storyline and character dynamic.

Jax is haunted in his dreams of his military time. He suffers from night terrors and gets little sleep.
Gwen is a young woman who works at a bank. She is the only eyewitness able to identify the robber. When her life is in danger, the cop ask his brother Jax to protect her.
Jax reluctantly agrees and never expected to fall for the Angel. She is the only one to be able to calm his demons.
This was such a great story. Gwen is young, innocent, has a huge heart and a sassy side to her. She loves her family and is a chatterbox. She is the opposite of Jax in every way.
Jax is grumpy, broody, possessive, and an alpha protector. He will end anyone who tries to hurt Gwen.

This is book 5 of Someone to Fight For. Gwen works at a bank, and it was robbed and told the police them everything and she is now in danger from the leader of the heist. Jax's brother is the detective that asks for his help to be Gwen's' bodyguard. Despite his initial reluctance, Jax is drawn to Gwen, and a strong, inexplicable bond forms between them. They embark on a journey to a secluded cabin in the forest, where their relationship deepens, and things quickly heat up between them. He falls hard for her as well she did too. Danger lurks but Jax is there to protect her no matter what. It was a great story, and you are going to love it as much as I did.

I devoured this one! I wasn't sure how I would like this one, but I am so happy I gave it a go. It became my favorite in the series! There is something about an MMC that has a haunted past, and especially one that suffers from PTSD. It breaks my heart every time, but there is something special about knowing he has a HEA in his future.
Gwen and Jax had a bit of a rough start together. Gwen is a recent graduate working at an old historic bank in her town. She witnesses a robbery, and the cops who take her statement think that she needs protection since the perpetrators have not all been captured. Here is when we meet Jax. He steps in with some coaxing from his cop brother as a protector for Gwen.
I had so much fun reading this one, and I can't wait for the last in the series!

Her Devoted Warrior is part of the Someone to Fight For Series by Cassie Hart. 

When Gwen identified the leader of the group that robbed the bank where she works, the cop in charge knew her life was in danger. He also knew was only one guy who could keep her safe, his brother. Jax is ex-military and an expert in security he is also obsessed with Gwen from the moment he sees her. 

This has been my favorite in this series so far. The story was well written, and the characters were likable. The chemistry between these two is great, and there are just enough spicy scenes.

Jax and Gwen made for each other, even if at first, they both resisted the idea. Gwen is a teller who works at the bank that a robber robs. The man lets her see his face and a very distinctive tattoo and the police catch him but need her safe from the rest of the gang. So, the cop brings in his brother Jax first hates the idea but upon seeing Gwen, starts to fall for the lovely bank teller. And she for him as he has an animal magnetism that she can and doesn’t want to resist. They leave town to go to a safe place Jax has and things happen. Good things happen. The rest you’ll just have to read it to find out what but true to Cassi Harts book there is a HEA.

Gwen is a loan officer at a bank when the bank gets robbed, she can identify the robber and that makes her a huge target. The officer involved in the case brings her to Jax and to safety. Jax sees the woman he has to protect and falls instantly for her, but he thinks he is too old and too broken to be the One for her. But sparks fly and they fall hard and fast for each other. Instalove, age gap, steamy, fun to read, romantic , with a tiny misunderstanding and safe with an awesome HEA and no drama😍😍😍😍

Another successful instalove/instalust short story. This time it’s between an ex Marine with PTSD and a terrified loan officer. Jax is contacted by his cop brother Matthew, so Jax will offer refuge to Gwen who can identify a bank robber. It was meant to be a temporary arrangement, but the heat between the MC’s says otherwise. Despite its brevity, Hart manages to capture our attention with appealing characters and an equally compelling storyline. If you like a lot of steam, then this story will win you over. I have received an ARC from the author and I am leaving an honest review.

Her Devoted Warrior is a hot and spicy novella. Protector Jax falls immediately for his subject, Gwen, and breaks all the rules to keep her safe and in his arms. Gwen is an innocent who bravely steps out of her comfort zone while in danger to go after who and what she wants. Her beautiful heart and kind soul are a perfect match for Jax’s broken self. Their chemistry is palpable, and I love the action and danger elements woven into this story, though I’m not a fan of the daddy dynamic.

This is another fun and steamy addition to the series and this one features a retired Marine and a bank teller. Gwen loves her job at the old bank but she sure didn't love being used and threatened in a robbery. When she identifies one of the robbers, she's sent off with Jax, a security consultant and brother to the policeman she dealt with. These two strike sparks from each other from the get-go and about burn up my reader ;P With some drama, action and daddy kink, this was a hot one that led to a wonderful HEA :D

After the bank where Gwen works gets robbed she steps up and identifies the robber and now her life is in danger. Jax is ex-military and when his police officer brother asks him to protect Gwen his life takes a turn. I loved these two for each other. He protected her and she calmed him. Her Devoted Warrior is book five in the Someone to Fight For series. The writing is well done and the story has believable characters, danger, suspense, steam, and a great ending. I look forward to reading the rest of this series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Her Devoted Warrior is book five in the Someone to Fight For Series. This was a super hot and spicy read.

Jax sees Gwen and knows he wants her from the start. A great insta love story. He is super protective and caring of Gwen.

Gwen is scared and wanting to live her life a little. She wants to experience things only Jax has made her feel.

Throw in some suspense and drama and you have a great read.
