500 Days
Casper Covington had his music, women, and pretty much anything he wanted at his disposal. But the one thing that plagued his thoughts constantly was the one thing he couldn't have. The girl he met six months ago. A drunken one night stand that he couldn't get out of his head. The only thing he remembered from that night was her green eyes and the ivy tattoo that stretched the length of her body. In his attempts to put an end to the tortuous dreams of the mysterious girl, Casper’s attention is caught by the new bartender. I am VERY glad I decided to sign up for the R2R of this book. I absolutely loved it.
What I liked about this book:
~ Easily fell in love with the characters, especially Casper (I didn't like it when he was hurting).
~ They were both pining over the other but didn't know who they were. I liked that when Casper realised that Alex was his 'dream girl' he didn't enlighten her of the fact that he was the guy from New Year's but instead tried to develop his relationship with her-not trying to scare her away and knowing she is the girl he wants.
~ The chapters switched between the two characters.
~ Alex: not afraid to kick some ass or speak her mind, has attitude.
~ Casper: didn't stop fighting for what her wanted->Alex
~ Enjoyed reading the interactions between Casper and Alex, especially at the beginning of the book, as their insults and banter were amusing.
~ Their relationship wasn't easy, he kept fucking up.
~ It wasn't love at first sight type of thing but instead, yes they found each other attractive and they felt something for the other after their night together on New Year's, but they pissed each other off.
~ I found it very easy to read.
~ Casper and Alex have a very up and down relationship. Just when I thought everything would work out for them, the author threw something in to upturn it which I thought made it more realistic to read.
~ The passage before chapter 1.
~ The secondary character were just as likeable as the main characters- I would love for there to be future books focused on them (particularly Declan/Colton and Alex's brothers).
~ I thought the ending to the story was perfect...after everything that they had been through, separately and together, they deserved it.
What I disliked about this book
~ Names began with the same letter, although it did make it easy to remember who was Alex's family (brothers' names all began with J) and who was Casper's family (names began with C, even their surname).
~ Title doesn't relate to Casper and Alex's relationship but Alex's mother instead. I was expecting it to be something significant to their relationship (i.e. the number of days it took for them to say 'I love you' from the day they met).
Other thoughts
~ From the beginning, I was curious as to why Alex's parents didn't raise them, but instead her brother Jack took on the responsibility. Throughout the story there are some hints that the parents are a touchy subject but you are never told why that is until much later on in the book.

** DNF at 67% **
Original review on Books Over Bros.
This is my first attempt at a short review. That isn’t because I don’t have a lot to say about this book… It’s just that I don’t feel entirely comfortable ripping a novel to shreds in more than a few words. I could write an essay on the problems I found in this book, but I don’t think I have it in me to be such a harsh critic – at least not yet. So instead, I’d quite like to get this review behind me, and move on, as soon as possible.
So, usually, I write a summary of a book, which is generally a few paragraphs in length, but I’m not going to bother this time round. Basically, Alex is a college student, Casper is in a band, they have a weird love/hate relationship, but the sex is great, and they fall in love, but their love doesn’t come easy – blah, blah, blah.
This book has so many 5 star reviews at the moment, and I just don’t understand it at all. Did these people read the same book as me? Because the book I read was rife with grammatical mistakes, and made up entirely of incredibly poor writing. Let me give you some examples:
I was going to comment individually on each of these, but I can’t really be bothered. Also, can I just point out that these examples are only a fraction of the problems I found when reading 500 Days. I’m not even kidding.
I don’t know about you but, personally, I feel like Jessica Miller needs to find herself an editor. She also needs to learn how to make proper use of commas, full stops, question marks — and learn how not to use two different tenses in the same sentence. Which happened a hell of a lot in this novel, by the way.
As if the terrible writing wasn’t bad enough, I detested every single character in this book – but none more so than the female protagonist, Alex Radcliff. Not only was she rude and immature – she was quite possibly the most hypocritical character I have ever had the misfortune of reading.
Slut-shaming, anyone? Because there’s a crap-tonne of it in this book.
Alex repeatedly refers to other women as “sluts” and “bitches” and “whores” for wearing short skirts and high heels, and for sleeping with lots of men – but then proceeds to do the same thing herself. This is incredibly problematic for me because, not only do I disagree with judging a woman on her own choices involving her own body – but I was incredibly, incredibly irritated by the fact that Alex was quick to judge others, but refused point blank to ever tar herself with the same brush. And, of course, the one time that she was told that she was just the same as the other girls that she repeatedly passed judgement on, she reacted with physical violence. I wish I could say that was the only time she was violent towards someone on the book – but it most definitely wasn’t.
So many people are calling this character “brave” and “strong” and “tough”, but I felt she came across as selfish, immature, crass, and generally unlikeable.
More examples, you say? Okay!
As with before, there are plenty more examples to prove my point – but I really don’t want to be writing this all night. It’s already a lot longer than I’d hoped it would be.
Let me just end by saying that this book was most definitely not my cup of tea. I managed to come across a few funny moments here and there, but they were dragged down by the rest of the novel.
You might enjoy this novel if you can see past the bad writing, and you don’t judge characters based upon their words and actions to the same extent that I do. So many people have enjoyed it, so there must be something likeable about 500 Days. I just couldn’t find it.

Got it.'”- Ah yes – of course it’s okay for Alex to do drugs, but not anyone else. Obviously.
As with before, there are plenty more examples to prove my point – but I really don’t want to be writing this all night. It’s already a lot longer than I’d hoped it would be.

Um... I really don't know how to approach this review because i'm not sure if i liked this book. How can someone not be sure if they liked a book someone may ask? Well, i did finish it in 1.5 days which means that it was a page turner, but i don't think i liked the story and i definitely did not like Alex very much (the heroine).
I've read some of the other reviews and a lot of people characterize Alex as a strong heroine, but in my eyes she was a anything but that. A strong heroine would be true towards herself and her feelings; Alex was constantly scared and in denial. Sure, she was feisty and sometimes extremely rude, but punching guys and insulting people is not my idea of a young woman being strong. She did not handle things well and she hurt people in the process by being too stubborn and just plain stupid.
On the other hand we have Casper, a guy who is basically sleeping with anything that moves and who supposedly has no clue what he wants from his life, but he was the one who stood his ground and fought for what he wanted. So Casper was the strong one in my eyes.
Now the story... I think the story was a little bit all over the place. When i read the blurb i thought i was going to read a book about two people that had a one night stand, thinking that they would never see each other again, but fate brought them back together. Well it started like that, but somewhere in the middle i felt that i was getting too much information and the plot was changing constantly. After Casper and Alexis decided to give their relationship a shot and be a real couple a lot of things did not make sense to me:
1. Why the hell did she break up with him? I still don't understand the reason behind her decision.
2. Why was he apologizing to her so much? She was the unreasonable one most of the time and not the other way around.
3. Why did the plot had to become so soap-operaish? I mean the deal with Casper's father and Alex's family drama was so unnecessary.
4. Why did the book had to be so damn long? This story could be said in 300 pages. I don't mind long books, i usually seek them out, but they need to justify their length or else it just comes out as rumbling.
5. And don't get me started about the book's title. I understand what the title stands for, but it was such a small part of the whole story that it felt completely irrelevant.
Anyway, i don't want to seem too harsh because as i said before i did want to turn the page and see what was going to happen next, but i feel that the story had lost its direction and identity at some point.
Do i recommend this book? I think i do... It's a book that someone has to read to make up their own mind.
Would i read it again? Definitely no, but i only re-read a handful of books and books that i love, so that's not an important point.
Did i love the main characters? No, i did not love them. I liked Casper and i did not like Alex, but then again i didn't hate her either.
I know that this is not a clear i-love-this-book or i-hate-this-book review, that's why i gave this book a 2.5-3 stars rating - because i'm on the undecided side. But i urge you to read it; lets face it, most of the reviewers loved it so obviously i'm outnumbered here!:)

This one was difficult for me to get invested in. First off, I didn’t particularly care for either of the main characters. While I respected Alex’s backbone to some degree, she was too crass, too judgmental, and too violent for my taste.
And Casper…well, he was just okay. I didn’t dislike him, but he didn’t “do it” for me either. I will say that he’s a special guy for putting up with Alex and for pursuing her with one-track precision. He’s a musician/ band member/ performer, which I usually don’t care for in a hero (except when it comes to Kellan Kyle, of course). Even so, readers see very little from that side of him; emphasis isn’t placed on his talent or his future in the music industry, but on his lifestyle (read: groupies) instead.
Beyond my issues with the main characters, the first 70% reminded me of Beautiful Disaster, another new adult novel I’ve read. I’m not suggesting that the similarities are intentional; I just found it impossible not to compare the two while reading. Because of this, I actually preferred the last 30% since that content was newer and fresher in my eyes. The family drama (although it seems to surface out of the blue, completely changing the novel’s direction) is actually what interested me the most. In fact, I wish more of that had been threaded in earlier; doing so would have heightened the build up AND endeared me to Casper a little more. Because let’s be honest: he was wonderful through that whole ordeal!
Ultimately, the novel ended the way I wanted it to (although Alex held out WAY too long) and was really good in spots. And I loved the epilogue! That being said, I didn’t love 500 Days as a whole…but I can see where other readers might.

500 Days by Jessica Miller was quite the story. There was a little bit of everything from "the chance meetings / unforgettable one night stand" to "love/hate" "hate to friends and friends to lovers" this story had it all! I'm always a sucker for a rockstar so it comes as no surprise that I would eventually read this and proceed to fall in love with Casper. This is basically the definition of an angsty romance but it was so much more. While I always appreciate angst on more than one occasion i literally wanted to scream at Alex for not being able to see what was right in front of her. Anyway this is not a short read and while I tore through the first three quarters in a day the last part seemed to go on and on. However, for the most part the length was definitely a pro for this one! You really got to know Casper and Alex and their families and watch them combat all the obstacles along the way.
This book is dual POV (a personal preference of mine) and it was done extremely well. They had unique, fun voices and Casper actually sounded like a guy which means I the jackpot with this one, yay. Both of them were in their early twenties but they seemed mature for the new adult genre, also a positive compared to the younger side, which too closely resembles young-adult for me. If you're worried about this sounding too young, which i assure you it's not it was also a fun, steamy read in addition to being intense and full of two families worth of drama. Casper was your typical rockstar/"bad boy"/man-whore with a heart of gold whereas Alex, being raised alongside four brothers is a strong, witty girl who grew up faster than she should have. Absolutely loved getting to know them!
A beautifully written story of love and loss that seamlessly developed in both point of views with an intriguing plot and real characters. Would recommend!!

From the very first page I really loved this story. I immediately loved the characters and couldn’t get enough of this story. Although Casper is really kind of a man-whore I really liked him. He has a lot of humor and soon you find out he is really a sweet guy. Although he makes some stupid decisions he really cares about Alexis and he just wants to see her happy. Casper really needs to work hard for Alexis and I must say I really loved how he tried to make her see him.
I also really liked Alexis. To the out sight world she is this really tough girl, but the truth is she is just scared of losing more people see loves. I loved how Alexis took care of too touchy guys. The things she would do to these guys really made me laugh. And to be honest I was kind of jealous of Alexis and the relationship she has with her four brothers. They are all really close and I loved reading about them.
Not only is this book really amazing, I also loved the cover. This cover is just a little dark but also very romantic. The same way this book is. So a great cover choice I must say.
This book is definitely going on my way favorite list. And to be honest I don’t really get why this book isn’t on a bestseller list. I was completely hooked to this story from the moment I started it and even when I wasn’t reading I kept thinking about these characters.
For everyone who loves books by Jamie McGuire, Nicole Williams, Jessica Sorensen and Colleen Hoover, you guys definitely need to put ‘500 days’ on your to-read list. I promise you don’t get disappointed!

If you are a fan of love/hate relationships, this is the book for you! I definitely recommend.
I really enjoyed this book. I thought it was well written and it kept my attention the entire time.
I loved that the 2 main characters, Casper and Alex, didn't have the insta-love connection. The back and forth banter between these two was pretty damn funny. Their relationship is on-again / off-again throughout the entire book.
Casper is a huge man-whore musician and college student
Alex is a tough cookie bartender and college student
Although Casper drove me crazy hooking up with random women (sometimes more than one) each night, Alex also drove me crazy. She almost reminded me a little of Kiera from Thoughtless. She never knew what she wanted and in the process hurt Casper over and over again.

I don't even know where to begin! I don't think a book has had me so emotionally attached in a long time.
I felt like I really knew the characters. At times I was crying so hard tears were pouring down my cheeks!

I really enjoyed this book after I got through the first 5 chapters. Those chapters weren't bad just a lot of backfill info. Once the tension between kickass Alex and bad boy Casper starts to heat up the book became steamy. At first I thought it was going to be all erotica but it wasn't. Don't get me wrong, there was a lot of gloriously descriptive sexual content, but about chapter 20 the plot of the story became real and the situations Alex and Casper had to fight were tough and heart wrenching. I wanted to reach in and shake Alex and tell her to stop being so blind. And then the unthinkable happened, even though it was kind of predictable, and my heart broke. The last quarter of the book produced more tear jerking emotion than I ever expected from this novel. I felt like the last half of the book was written by a totally different writer. I liked the contrast. Good job Ms. Miller!

This was quite a roller coaster ride that Alexis(Alex) and Casper took us on. the story was very long. You will go through a lot of emotions. I was mad, happy, and sadThe back and forth continues for the entire book. Alex is a strong opionated woman who doesn't mind throwing a punch. She stands up for herself and her family/friends. While that is admirable at times it was a little annoying and rude. Casper loved it so that is all that matters. Casper was your typical band boy who slept with anyone who was willing. But once he set his heart on Alexis he turned over a new leaf. He fell hard and at times I felt Alexis didn't deserve him.

WOW...... I LOVED this book from start to finish and it was a long book which I loved!! The characters are all well written and I could relate to each and every one of them.
Alex is a firecracker who doesn't take any s**t from any one! she has been through so much in her life, but with the relationship she has with her four brothers she has learned to take care of herself! I think I have gone through the full spectrum of emotions that you can in a book, I laughed out loud several time, getting strange looks from my partner, anger witching they would just get their act together! Sadness and some really emotional bits in the book and gooey eyed at all the lovey covey parts!
This book is fantastic and well written and I would love to hear more from the other characters in this book. Would love more of Alex and Casper's story to! Could recommend this book enough it's brilliant!!

I seem to be having trouble coming up with the words to describe how I feel about this book. I believe Jessica Miller has just become one of my FAVORITE Authors!
I did not want this book to end..from the start I was hooked on Casper and Alexis, as well as all of her brothers! Maybe I don't have enough drama in my own life, because I loved every.single.minute of their bickering, fighting, laughing, loving, insults, foreplay and back and forth banter. I could not get enough!
Everything that alex and her family went through was heart-wrenching. The whole time I was secretly hoping this would be a series and Jack's story would be next! I am still hoping Ms. Miller will continue on with the rest of these boys and tell their stories. It would be incredible if she wrote a follow up to Casper and Alex's story.

Wow! Is this is Jessica's first book, she put her foot in this one. I love this book. It's smart, sexy and hilariously funny! Casper is an alpha bad boy, yet charming with a heart of GOLD! Alex is tough as nail! This book cover so many deminsions of YT LOVE! It explores the emotions of first love and lost. I truly enjoyed reading this one. Can't wait to see what Jessica comes up with next!. There are so many twist and turns in this book, that you are going to need a box of Kleenex.

This story is about a musician/college student, Casper Covington, who sleeps around with anyone especially those who are groupies to his band. He meets the woman of his dreams and spends one blissful New Year's Eve night with her and she is gone when he wakes up. For month's all he can think about is her even though he continues on with his one-night-stand-type lifestyle. Only this time it's to try and erase her. He's performing at one of the local bars, Angels & Demons, when he meets out leading lady...Alexis Radcliff. Boy is she fiesty one. Immediately he gets to see first hand Alex's attitude, how headstrong she is, and that she is capable of handling things herself. Thinking he can break her down, he tried his thing only to come face to face with some glowing green eyes and a tongue that could slice his throat. Insults were flying back and forth between the two like poison being spit. But those eyes....something with those eyes. Her cousin/best friend Declan is a friend of Casper's and warns him, but in a loving way. He walks away from her but continues to watch her from afar. Casper's roommate Colton is madly in love with Declan but is way too shy to say anything. Casper whispers into Declan's ear to give him a chance so she agrees to a date, but turns it into a double date and wants Colton to bring a friend. Here is where the story really takes off. The four meet for dinner and Casper remembers her from the bar and she remembers him. They sit and rile each others feathers with rude words, crazy off the wall comments, and all while both being set on fire deep in their pants. Both try to fight the attraction, but neither can succeed. Over the weeks and months to come they come to a truce and decide for their friends' sake they will get along sine they will be around each other all the time. The name calling, although still name calling, becoming teasing endearments and they grow closer everyday. During this time Casper stops sleeping around only wanting to be with Alex, only he won't tell her that. Alex, enjoying all of her time with Casper, won't admit that there is anything else going on because she fears getting hurt and used. So they both ignore the heat until Alex starts dating Reece, one of Casper's frat brothers. That's when Casper decides to make his move. Bad timing Casper. Casper ends up pissing everyone off with his jealous actions. Eventually he is able to get her to see that he wants to be with her, but she is a runner. She runs from Casper and her feelings every time she gets a chance. Towards the end of the book are when her secrets actually come out. Casper doesn't blink an eye at her admissions. During this time Alex and her family experience a tragedy and Casper is there waiting to help her through. Once again she uses him and runs. Will he still be there when she figures out what love is and how to open herself up to it? Read this story and find out.
First off I want to say I rate this book 3.5 stars. I just couldn't go 4 and 3 seemed not right either. I'm stuck on this book and here are my reasons why. First off, this book is hella long! It seemed as though it were 2 books in one almost,having multiple plots and the way they were set up. Every time I would pick it up and read for a couple of hours I would think I should be close to the middle where secrets are...nope read some more...nope read some more....The story kind of drags without dragging. It's hard for me to explain. Jessica does a good job putting in little things here and there during that drag part, and Alex's and Casper's characters are interesting enough to keep your attention and with the first person pov alternating between them you don't want to put the book down. I felt like after reading the synopsis of the book I was misled a bit waiting for said secrets to unfold and drama to pick up. I was to the point that I never thought it was going to happen when finally we were smacked in the face with some secrets that could've been mentioned way sooner in this book and made a bigger part of the story. Although I loved Casper and Alex, I wanted to smack Alex. It's one thing to be a hardass cause you were raised by your brothers. I get that. Girly tomboy who doesn't really know how to show love. She shows mean love. But for the love of god after 300 something pages of her acting like an idiot and not being hardheaded but being a bitch to everyone gaaaaaaaaah. There were tons of errors through out the book, too, that threw me for a loop. I don't mind some errors, after all we are all human, but it looks as though this book skipped a well needed proofreading. So be prepared if that's one of your pet peeves when reading a book.

Every time I would pick it up and read for a couple of hours I would think I should be close to the middle where secrets are…nope read some more…nope read some more….The story kind of drags without dragging. It’s hard for me to explain. Jessica does a good job putting in little things here and there during that drag part, and Alex’s and Casper’s characters are interesting enough to keep your attention and with the first person pov alternating between them you don’t want to put the book down. I felt like after reading the synopsis of the book I was misled a bit waiting for said secrets to unfold and drama to pick up. I was to the point that I never thought it was going to happen when finally we were smacked in the face with some secrets that could’ve been mentioned way sooner in this book and made a bigger part of the story. Although I loved Casper and Alex, I wanted to smack Alex. It’s one thing to be a hardass cause you were raised by your brothers. I get that. Girly tomboy who doesn’t really know how to show love. She shows mean love. But for the love of god after 300 something pages of her acting like an idiot and not being hardheaded but being a bitch to everyone gaaaaaaaaah. There were tons of errors through out the book, too, that threw me for a loop. I don’t mind some errors, after all we are all human, but it looks as though this book skipped a well needed proofreading. So be prepared if that’s one of your pet peeves when reading a book.
Not everything was bad about this book. Like I said, for the most part I loved Casper and Alex. All the characters in this book are well written. I love her brothers and how they interact with each other. Their names threw me off at first, and I was like wait who is talking now, wait who are they talking to? But I loved all of her bothers and the bond they shared together after everything they had been through is amazing. My fave parts of the story are when Alex and Casper are bantering back and forth trying to one up each other while the their sexual frustration builds. The ending was a big surprise and the epilogue was like reading about 2 different people until they called each other by their name calling nicknames.
Overall this is a good book. I did like it and I think others will like it too. Jessica’s writing style is beautiful and I can see her writing some amazing stories in the future.

Review: 500 Days by Jessica Miller
I could not get enough of this book. I liked it that much that I read it twice!
With a stellar cast of characters, an addictive well written and thought out storyline that I couldn't stop reading, 500 Days is a must read!
Normally in my reviews I give a little recap of what has happened in the book, but I'm not going to, there is too much to tell and I don't want to stuff it up. I'd hate for my petty re-telling to put anyone off from reading it! You'll find all that in the synopsis. Suffice to say it was bloody hard to put down!
Here is a little of my thoughts on the main characters...
Alexis, aka Alex. She's a college student who lives with her cousin Dylan, who she also works with at a hot bar called Angels and Demons. She's a part of a close knit family unit with her four brothers Jack, Jasper, Jaxon and Jacob (it took me a while to get my head around the J's, but there is a good reason for it) I had a mild-like to great distaste relationship with her. Her actions, attitude, and character in general, drove me crazy and p-ed me off! She has the tendency to over react and lash out unfairly because of her own insecurities. She had me that worked up I actually threw something across the room because I was so angry! (apparently I'm quite the hot head!) I found her quite selfish and self centered at times but then she'd turn around and surprise me by being thoughtful. The book wouldn't have been the same if she was a totally likable person. My annoyance with her fueled my reading and very late night sessions, because I wanted to see that Cas was treated well in the end! It's quite an amazing talent for an author to be able to write characters that make their readers feel so involved in a story and its characters!
Casper, aka Cas. He's the lead singer of a band who plays regular gigs at Angels and Demons, and is a college student too. He is also a promiscuous womanizer known to sleep with a different girl every night - up until he gets hooked on Alex. This guy isn't an innocent in their "are we? or aren't we?" relationship, but gosh does he have to work for his happiness! He's a charming rogue with hilarious wit who had me giggling like a school girl far too often! I have yet another fictional boyfriend....Woo!
Alex and Cas' story was full of drama but their chemistry was undeniable. The build up of their relationship was delicious and addictive.
As a whole this story had me on the edge of my seat. It was an amazing ride with many highs and many lows. The emotions invoked were intense. There were several scenes that had me sobbing. I mean total snot crying! Jessica Miller has a real gift for developing and building her characters to be believable, likable (or not) and real, with real emotions and feelings that affect you as a reader. I often felt as though I was a voyeur watching through a window.
I commented in a recent review that I'd never before been so passionate or felt so many emotions from a book, but I think that particular book has been trumped!
500 Days is a gripping story of love, hate, trust, betrayal, revelations and self discovery. Ms. Miller is an exceptional storyteller and I can't seem to get enough of her writing. I highly recommend this book!

I have to honestly say this was a 3.5**** book for me! To me the story read like a cross between A Beautiful Disaster and 10 Things I Hate About You, both of which I love!
Alexis is a young women in her second year of college who works hard and fights even harder. For most of her life the only family she has is her four brothers due to a tragedy that happened earlier in their lives. Alexis acts like a cross between a fighter and an old sailor, she has absolutely no class or any endearing qualities. She tries her hardest to keep people away from her, outside of her family and only friend because she has a secret from the past that haunts her.
Casper is also in college and working as a musician trying to find what direction in life he wants to go. He spends most of his time being a man-whore who treats most women as objects and stays away from commitment. The only girl he can think about is a mystery girl he met last New Year's at Time Square and can't get her out of his head.
Alex and her friend/cousin Declan, take a job at a local college bar called Angels and Demons. This is where she first meets Casper, but she is dressed in her work costume with a wig and mask. He is drawn to her beautiful green eyes and snarky attitude. So the banter between them begins. Casper's friend Colton has a long time crush on Declan, when she finally agrees to go on a date with him, she agrees to a double date bringing her cousin Alexis and Colton brings Casper. Casper feels like he instantly knows her when he looks in her eyes. He finally figures out it is the girl from the bar. Alex has immediate disdain for him because of how he treats women and makes it very clear to him that she wants nothing to do with him. This now becomes a challenge for Casper, because he wants her.
The book has so many characters, especially Alex's brothers that all begin with the letter J. I have to admit I like naming children with the same letter but their names are all similar I got confused as to which was which. The dialogue between Casper and Alexis is great but then it starts to get old. When the two finally get together the slightest things set Alexis off and running, this happens way to many times in the book, but Casper never gives up, he almost becomes too sappy.
Overall, I liked the story it was long but read through quickly. There were a lot of things going on. I'm not sure that I would have named this book 500 Days because that was a very small part of the book and had only a slight relevance to the story. There were parts that truly made me laugh, cry, and get angry (mostly at Alexis). You should definitely read the book it is entertaining and so you want to continue reading through to see what happens.

Phew! What a ride. First I would like to thank Ms. Miller and the PAC R2R group for giving me the opportunity to read 500 Days. In the beginning, 500 Days seemed to be EXACTLY what I was looking for, I mean, angsty rocker and snarky heroine with a chip on her shoulder? Yes please!
Alexis, aka Alex, is the only girl in a family full of brothers whose names all begin with the letter J (while cute, this caused some confusion for me, trying to keep them all straight)and they are quite the crew. I fell in love with every single brother, immediately, and I felt it was the "brotherly love" that was the strongest connection in this entire book. They were "real" and natural without it turning into a bad after school special.
Alexis, along with best friend/cousin Decklan work at a local bar to pay their way through college. This is where resident bad boy-rocker-whore guy comes into play. Casper is apparently what all the college girls are doing these days yet he has his sights set on the firecracker behind the bar.
I'm a little torn when it comes to the push and pull that went down between Alex and Casper for the entire length of the book. On hand, I loved that she would go toe to toe with him at every turn but after awhile, it became exhausting. I love a fiesty heroine who takes no shit but Alex slowly became a walking cartoon character as the story progressed. One that was borderline abusive. I just wasn't comfortable with how aggressive she was with Casper. Granted, a dramatic slap across the face is almost a given in Contemporary Romance but hell, it was like Casper left his balls in a guitar case somewhere. The sex scenes were okay but the constant "grunts" and Casper using the word "undies"....no.
This book would have done well to have been trimmed down a bit, or a lot. With a whopping 528 pages, there were large chunks of the plot that just went on and on and on and a nod to the title came in a little too late and then ending, the DRAMATIC ending, in a way, made me want to put a fork in my eye. It felt cheesy and out of place given the "grit" of the rest of the book.
I don't want to be harsh, I really don't. There were aspects of this book that I loved. There were heartfelt scenes that just ripped my heart out and the relationships between all the characters was extremely powerful and well written. There were times I had tears running down my face and loved every minute of it. Unfortunately, the heroine lost her appeal to me and there were some plot holes that rubbed me the wrong way. So while I felt that 500 Days had more potential than it was able to deliver, it's still an impressive novel by a "new to me" author I really look forward to reading more from in the future.

To say I liked this book would be an understatement because I absolutely loved it! Jessica Miller captured me from the beginning until the end!
I fell in love with the characters especially Casper. He is your typical playboy who brings home a different girl every night and he just also happens to be in a band. So yes he is definitely the hot rocker type. However, Casper has this one night stand on New Year’s and the intoxicating girl he slept with is imbedded in his mind. He cannot seem to get over her or the Ivy tattoo that wraps around her body. All he wants is to be able to find this girl and be with her again and again and again.
Then there is Alex. She is the girl with the Ivy tattoo and she was also affected from the mind blowing one night stand she had on New Year’s but she cannot remember who it was with. She is this beautiful woman who is very protected by her four brothers. Declan her cousin is extremely close to Alex and they always have been. In a way they are more like sisters and best friends.
Declan is a fiery spirit that works at the club Caspers band plays at often. They have a unique friendship like they are family. Casper would look out for Declan, but he also learns his friend Colton has a thing for her. So what else does Casper do but set the two of them up together. Colton and Declan are so cute together … I just love the two of them as secondary characters.
Eventually Casper meets Alex through Declan, but they don’t seem to hit it off right away. Their relationship is more like a love hate relationship. When they meet each other they have no idea that they have already met before. Eventually Casper charms his way into Alex’s heart and they start to be together, but not after a rocky start and a bumpy ride. I was so happy to see them together.
There were a couple of things I didn’t like about this book. The book was long which wasn’t a problem but I am a series girl and this could have been turned into at least two book and kept going after that. I loved the book so much that I didn’t want it to end which is why I think I would have preferred it as a series instead. Also, the title I would have thought had something to do with Alex and Casper being together, but it didn’t. It was about Alex’s mother which sort of confused me because her mother isn’t the mail point of the story. It is the love between Alex and Casper.
Other than that I loved the book, but I am going to miss Casper and Alex plus their amazing sex! I look forward to reading future work from this author.

I was sent this book by the author for my honest review.
This book revolves around Alexis and Casper, two young adults searching for.... something. Casper is a local musician hopping from girl to girl, partying hard, enjoying life but still thinks about a girl who stole his heart during a one night stand, but he has no idea who she is, where she is or anything else about her, all he remembers is an ivy tattoo. Alexis (Alex) is a working bartender putting herself through college, a tough girl who doesn't take any crap from anyone, and doesn't take any help from them either. She can't remember anything about her mystery man one night stand, and neither know it when the other is standing in front of them for quite some time.
This book was good. It was fast paced, action/angst packed. It kept me going, though I wanted to yell at both of them for being so stupid!!
Setting = A+
Plot = A+
Where the conflict comes in, is where I had a little bit of issue. Alex was a little over the top. I get it, she had a rough childhood, most do, some just as bad, some worse, and I'm sure there's some people just as bad, or worse, but I didn't like Alex. She was causing more problems than there should have been, making things more difficult than they had to be, and overall wasn't a very pleasant person. Despite that, I really wanted for her to get some sense knocked into her, and was glad when she finally came to her senses.
On the other hand, though Casper made tons of dumb mistakes (don't most guys at one time or another?!) I found his mistakes more forgiving and him more reasonable and likable. At times I didn't think Alex was good enough for him, but then he'd do something stupid.

With everything else in and around the major conflict of these two characters, it was full of tons of other crazy characters and other storylines. At times it was almost too much (J names (4), C names (4) didn't help, it took quite a time figuring out one from the other) and at other times it was painstakingly hard to read. It was definitely an emotional roller coaster throughout the book and I was really glad for a neatly wrapped up ending.

On a whole, this was a fun, quick and enjoyable read. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoyed a light erotica read.

I absolutely loved this book! I haven't read a book for a while that just got me completely caught up with it. There was so much going on but it was done in a way that made it work so well. Its a long book, 500ish pages, but it doesn't seem like that. Sometime I hate long books because they just drag. This didn't! To be honest I just wanted to keep reading, and not just about the two main characters, about them all.
I loved that Alex and Casper were attracted to each other at the beginning of the book but they also annoyed the hell out of each other. This made for some great laughs with all their insults being thrown between the two and I especially loved the scene when Casper was trying to ruin Alex's date. Alex was a great character. She wasn't afraid to speak her mind or kick someones butt. She is a strong person with a great attitude but throughout this book you could see she was also vulnerable. She is the kind of person you would love to be friends with! I also fell in love a bit with Casper. He was a but of an ass but in a loveable way at the start of the book. As you progress through the story though, you really see him try and fight for what he wants, which of course is Alex. Even though he kept messing up he would try and win her back or even just to do things to make her smile. The supporting characters where great as well. Especially Colton/Declan and all of Alex's brothers. They are likeable from the first time they are mentioned. I would have loved to read more about Alex's brothers in future books maybe?
Casper's and Alex's relationship was a bit of a roller coaster, which made it more realistic I suppose. You would get to a point and think things are finally looking up for them and its all going to work out then something would be thrown their way.
This book had it all. It made me laugh and smile and then towards then end made me cry...a lot! I was reading a bit near the end of the book on my way to the beach, this turned out to be a bad idea. By the time I got there my eyes were red and puffy from the crying I had done. Yes it was pretty sad, but it is also a happy ending, thank god!
I loved everything about this book and it has a great cover. It is a must read!

Especially Colton/Declan and all of Alex's brothers. They are likeable from the first time they are mentioned. I would have loved to read more about Alex's brothers in future books maybe?
Casper's and Alex's relationship was a bit of a roller coaster, which made it more realistic I suppose. You would get to a point and think things are finally looking up for them and its all going to work out then something would be thrown their way.
This book had it all. It made me laugh and smile and then towards then end made me cry...a lot! I was reading a bit near the end of the book on my way to the beach, this turned out to be a bad idea. By the time I got there my eyes were red and puffy from the crying I had done. Yes it was pretty sad, but it is also a happy ending, thank god!
I loved everything about this book and it has a great cover. It is a must read!

He never forgot that tattoo. She never forgot those eyes.
Alexis and Casper have a love/hate relationship. There were times I felt like I was watching a tennis match and instead of a little green ball being hit back and forth, I was reading about these two slinging insults back and forth. One minute they're in bed all lovey dovey and in the next minute, they're fighting. Again.
Alex is the girl whose parents weren't around. I won't spoil that part so that's all I'm going to say on that matter. Her oldest brother Jack was tasked with picking up the pieces to that mess and trying his best at raising her and her other 3 brothers. Yet somehow Alex grew up with a chip on her shoulder. Her character came across as rude and immature. But underneath all that was a broken girl just wanting to be fixed.
Casper didn't come from the best home either. His father was married to his next trophy who was younger than Casper's oldest sister. With a dysfunctional family like that, do you really blame him for all the booze and the revolving door of women? And he could be just as immature and rude as Alex.
When they realize they past they shared, not much is said about that one night they had together. Difficult pasts are brought up, but not much else. Most of this relationship is about getting over their immaturity, hypocrisy and rudeness. Basically growing up!
The storyline was excellent! The writing had some grammatical errors throughout the book and with a little more editing work, these changes could make this story even better. But either way, the author kept me intrigued. And in the last 20% (ish), she had me in tears.
Throughout the story, one plot would fizzle out and another one sprang up adding more depth and background to this relationship. Which is a change from the new adult books that are currently out there. The supporting characters were very well developed. They were confusing at times because I could never figure out whose side they were on. They always seemed to switch from one chapter to the next.
This book might be twice as long as what most new adult books currently are, but it's worth it.

Lets Just take a minute and appreciate the work the author put into making this cover for her book. That's right she made this cover. To me that is just awesome, the fact that not only did she create this amazing book that is just live with feeling and electricity, but she also published it and created the cover herself. On to the actual review.
I read this book around my birthday which is the end of April. Now there was still snow out here so it was nice to be cuddled up to a book with a cup of tea by the window and just get lost. This novel isn't your typical love story. It's full of angst and betrayal, hurt, devastation and attitude. Sure there are the parts where its all mushy and smutty and what not, but what romance novel doesn't have those.
What I liked about this book was the STORY. The plot and the characters essentially is what kept me captivated, that and the fact that Jessica Miller just has this way with words that it just hypnotizes me and keeps me entrap in reading it until the very end. I actually had to break away from it twice. Just so that I could let the information sink in as towards what I was reading, and when it was over, I felt emotionally drained. And there was no cliffhanger at the end, which made me soooo happy. I hate cliffhangers the ones that just drop off the face of the earth and expect you to be happy about it. Yah no . Usually when that happens I refuse to pick up the second book, because really why would you do that to me??!?!?!!
Characters, where to start on those? Our 2 main characters are Casper and Alexis or Alex. Now I'm not going to sit here and explain who they are in great detail because I find that takes away the thrill of getting to know them inside of the book, what I will say is that they are expertly written. They are well though out and they mesh really really well. They were in the very sense made for each other. If they were real people, I have no doubt in my mind that they would be together.
Over all I gave this book 5 stars out of 5!!

Casper, Casper, Casper oh boy that man! I love him! I absolutely love a story when a bad guy turns good for one girl. There's just something about it that I fall in love with and Jessica did an amazing job of portraying that. For me he was an excellent character that had such passion and love. The only negative is that he doesn't really exist!
Alex for me at times was very frustrating because I felt that she sometimes was a little hard on Casper but it was also the thing that made her character so believable. In reality people don't do what you want them to do, they annoy you and frustrate you and I think this is what made the story so great. The characters and their decisions were real. Jessica didn't create characters that just pleased you but they were real people and I loved that.
It took me a little time at first to get to grips with all the siblings due to them having names that all started with the same letter. Eventually I did get a grasp on who was who and understood each character for who they were (I loved Jack & Jaxson!). The story also had quite a few little surprises that I didn't see coming, which was great. This is definitely not just about the romance, it is about love in all aspects of life. I think the family values in this were really nice. And the final scene (which I'm not going to give away) but I loved that!!I loved the people that helped Alex during that scene, it was just great to read!
I also really liked Declan and Colton together. Declan in particular made me laugh and I felt that she was a great friend/cousin to Alex even when Alex really pushed it at times.Overall I really enjoyed this book and lost a lot of sleep reading it however, it was worth it.
Jessica, you did a fantastic job and created a beautiful story that I hope many people will experience. Thank you so much for the opportunity to read this book. I will definitely be investing my money and time in more of this author's books!!

Wow! Wow! Wow! This book turned out to be an amazing read.
Alex is the only girl among 4 brothers. Left to fend for themselves when her oldest brother was only 18, they are all very close and mighty protective of their sister. Determined to be independent, Alex works hard in the local bar with her best friend and cousin.
Casper is a sexy band member who is known for his promiscuity and misogynistic attitude...but its all a facade, an image for his on stage persona. Casper is used to clicking his fingers and getting any woman he wants...but Alex is about to test his abilities...to the extreme.
Alex is stubborn and strong willed, she wont be another notch in Casper's bed head.
With more and and more instances throwing Alex and Casper together the harder it is for both of them to deny their attraction. They try to play it cool...and on more than one occasion find themselves in bed together.
Alex tries her damnedest to keep Casper at arms length, she knows that it will all end in heartbreak. Casper on the other hand realises that what he feels for Alex is very real, and while it scares him, he is determined to show her he more than the act on stage.
Life continues to throw drama's at each of them. Nothing seems to fall into place for either of them. One step forward, ten steps back. Fate just wont give either of them a break.
Fate appears to be playing one huge cruel prank on Casper and Alex. They are tested all the way to the very end. Fate is determined to bring them together when they both wake up and acknowledge what is right in front of them.
Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous story. Love Alex and Casper, loved the story line. A very full and complete story. Wonderfully written and perfectly made to pull you in and feel all the emotions and connections that take place for these two fantastic characters. A book that will not disappoint! Ms Miller you have a winner!

To start out, this is another review for My Daily Romance. I want to thank Kate Good who runs My Daily Romance for giving me another chance to review for her blog and also for having such a great read to choose! As some of you have already guessed I truly enjoyed this book and I am giving it 4 stars. It was a bit longer then what I have been reading lately, I believe when I started reading it my Kindle Fire said it was 12 hours long, but even though it was long it was easy to stick with. The plot was great and unlike some romance novels it was just full of sex. I could really empathized with Alexis and Casper. Alexis’s past was something I haven’t really read before, she had a schizophrenic dad and her mother was in jail most of her life after she was 8 and her older brother Jack had to raise her and her other 3 brothers Jasper, Jaxson and Jacob.
There were just a couple of cons about the book too though. Alexis at times seemed to be a little more immature then I think she could’ve been. She cussed a lot and always wanted to beat someone up who ticked her off, I completely understand showing her as more of a tom boy, who was raised by men, and could hold her own but at times it was like okay did she really need to do that. I wish they could’ve went in more depth with Casper’s family especailly his mother, he seems to not have a good relationship with her but the author never really goes into detail other than his father cheated on her and they are divorced and she works unlike his last 2 stepmothers. Kinda confusing to me.
All in all, I really did like it and after I get rid of some of my other books on my TBR (To be read) list, I will definately be checking out some of her other ones!

*3.5 star review, strong start for a new author in this genre, so rounding up to 4 stars.
First and foremost, as a new author their first book (as a reader) I am always trying to scope out if they have talent in one of two ways 1) story telling and plot development (originality, substance, etc) 2) actual writing itself of said story/plot. Suffice to say this author has both and I look forward to her future works - very well written, disagreed only with a handful of things but all in all enjoyable read.
What worked well: I really enjoy dual POVs, liked many of the secondary characters which helped contribute to the plot (ex. Colton, Declan), humor/hardship/sexiness/sorrow were inserted throughout the book, and original storyline with both characters being flawed and a more equitable balance of 'screwed-up-ness' while most books weigh more heavily towards one character or the other.
What I struggled with: as others have noted, confusion with similar names of siblings, Jax, Jasper, Jacob, kind of became difficult to keep all their personalities and traits straight. Probably biggest drawback was this book was too drawn out and overly long, I struggled in a handful of places cause I felt like progress wasn't being made and inconsequential scenes were lengthening the book and taking away from the climatic development. While this book has depth, it doesn't warrant 300+ pages. Alex also became a bit hard to cheer for, displaying multiple instances of immaturity, being too hard on Casper, and making poor decisions.
Look forward to future works!

I was given this book for an honest review.
500 Days is an emotional rollercoaster of a book in both the story and the characters banter. It’s a strong love/hate relationship and I found myself not being able to wait for Casper and Alex to get together because of the way they worked off each other.
Alex is a college student who works at a bar part time with her best friend/cousin. At the beginning of the book you can see her is up and she pushes everyone out (literally pushes everyone else). Because she is the only girl out of four brothers, Alex has grown to be independent, strong and witty.
Casper is in a locally popular band who plays at the club where Alex works. Casper is your stereotypical band member. Angry and bored and uses alcohol and sex to get through his boredom. He’s has a hard relationship with his parents and has pushed himself away from his family and isn’t one to settle down, until he meets Alex who wants NOTHING to do with him. In the beginning it’s easy to think that the only reason he keeps going after Alex is because of the challenge, but their constant back and forth banter keeps you wanting more. You get to see Casper’s character change and grow throughout the book and I was rooting for him and Alex.
I felt like the kid in the NeverEnding Story, it had me laughing, yelling, and crying. I couldn't put it down. It wasn’t necessarily your everyday struggles with life and challenges, but it was realistic and some of them touched home for me so I could relate to the characters. Jessica Miller is a fantastic writer and I definitely will find myself looking for other books by her.

Wow is what I will use to describe the book. 500 Days is not your typical love story, with boy meets girl, girl fall in love, the life happily ever after.
O hell no, not with 500 days. There were parts where I just wanted to go up to Alex and grab her by the shoulder, shake her and tell her wake up, open up your eyes. Moments where you will be oh God no and off course the edge of your seat moment where you pray that Alex wait just a few minutes longer.
500 Days is told out of the two main characters point of view. Alexis Radcliff is not your typical young adult woman, she grew up tough and never had it easy. The Only girl between 4 brothers made her tough as nails. Ales is a no nonsense, I will kick your ass girl, that would rather your guys than being used.
Casper Covington, is your typical bad boy, never sleeping with the same girl twice, the lead singer of a band, good looking and dangerous. Oh and he knows it.
That all chance when one night the club where their band is playing he shes the same eyes of the girl who knock his feet out under him 6 months ago.
Through out the whole book it is battle within themselves of should they let the other one know how they feel, the fear of getting hurt and to lose the one.
Trust me when I say you will laugh, love and cry in this book.

When I first saw the synopsis of this book I was really interested in it. And when I star to read it even more.. I have to say that Casper blow my mind. I've never read in my whole life about a character so determinate like him! He never give up. Even when he say that he would let go her.. Wao it just amazed me all his willpower. I love everything about him.
Then I met Alexis. Dang it I've never read about a character so stubborn like her! Sometimes I wish I could punch her in the face to make her woke up!! But I still loved that She's such a kick ass, But it really touch my heart to know she was a broken girl that had so much things inside her that made her like she was, but then I would be mad again because of her stubbornness that didn't make her see how the things were with Casper. Their relationship was so funny, I really laughed with all their fights and teasing even her brothers made me laugh!! I love all of them Jack, Jasper, Jaxcson and Jacob.
