About the author

I've always been an incurable romantic. While I enjoy reading all types of fiction, my favorites, the books that touch my soul, are romance novels. From sexy to thrilling, sweet to humorous, I like them all. But what I really love is writing romance--the hotter the better!

I started my first novel back in high school and have been writing ever since. To date, I've published over thirty novels, one of them a prestigious RITA Award nominee, Romance Writers of America's highest award of excellence. I have also been nominated by Romantic Times magazine for several Reviewer's Choice awards, as well as a career achievement award.

I've written for several different publishers, including Harlequin Books, Leisure Books, Berkley/Jove, St. Martin's Press and Warner Books. Born and bred in the Lone Start State, I still live deep in the heart with my real-life hero, Curt, and our young children.

Like any over-worked, under-appreciated wife and mother, I have very little free time. But when I find a few precious moments, I LOVE to read. Some of my favorite authors include Janet Evanovich, Vicki Lewis Thompson, Charlaine Harris (see my Favorite Reads page for more) and the exceptionally talented Nina Bangs. Give me a bag of Sugar Babies, a Toby Keith or Kevin Fowler CD (I love Texas music), and a great book, and I'm in heaven!

* Re-read 2017 *

Still loved re-reading Midnight Kisses. It was light hearted, funny and left me all around in a feel good mood.

When Josie, after another lack luster date with a prospective life mate, teams up with starchy introvert, Marvin, to create the perfect artificial man, things start heating up in the lab.

I had a blast reading determined Josie seducing Marvin, aka Matt, the undercover tech bad boy. It was full of funny and sweet moments. Typically I prefer the MMC to be the main pursuer but Josie was so much fun to read that I found myself not bothered by it at all. This is still one of my top favorite reads but I might have to invest in the digital version since my paperback is looking worse for wear :)

SAFETY
Ages: Josie 35 and Marvin/Matt is the same or around the same.
Cheating: None.
OM/OW drama: None.
Separation: When Marvin/Matt reveals his real identity, there is a small separation of a few weeks.
Push/Pull:Marvin/Matt holds out and tries to distance himself from Josie. First because he doesn't want anything getting in the way of his revenge and then second because he doesn't believe he can be everything that Josie wants in a life partner. It was frustrating at times, but he always had Josie's best interest at heart. When it comes to that final showdown, he proved that what he valued above everything else was Josie and the love he had for her. It was really sweet.
Main Pursuer of relationship: Lol, in the case Josie is actually the main pursuer. It was a nice role reversal.
Triggers: None.
HEA/HFN: Ends on a really awesome epilogue, six months down the road with every one getting their HEA. And Josie's baby bump and Zorro re-appearance brought it all to a lovely ending :)

If you're looking for a genuinely amusing character driven read you won't want to miss this one! The plot is pure fun and the characters are lovable. The sensual tension is intense and the romance develops at a believable pace. This one ranks right up there with Dara Joy's HIGH ENERGY, only it has a much smarter heroine. If you're in the mood for a fun, sexy read you can't go wrong with this one. It's the perfect book to settle in with after a long stressful day.
