She’s angry that I left. I’m angry that I died. It’s the trouble with our two lives: we don’t only have one past to work through, but two. Double the pain, twice the betrayal. A million times the tragedy.
***The Moon is the story of Merlin and Nimue from the New Camelot trilogy. It’s recommended that you read the trilogy first, as there are American King spoilers in The Moon.***
Let's just say that Merlin deserves his catharsis and his story needs to be told. He had been plotting, hiding, bringing all the pawns together for the final battle that would ensure the Americn Queen, the American Prince and the American King have a common future. Now his job is finished...
My work—the sole aim and focus of my fifty years—is finished. There’s nothing waiting to be done, no more battles left to fight on Ash’s behalf.
This is his book and his story and I wish it had more pages. But I am still happy with what I read. Another awesome erotic, sensual, romantic story by Sierra Simone.
I think I’m crying again. “Don’t ever take it off then,” I whisper. “Keep me.” “You’re kept, my love.”
You need to read the New Camelot trilogy before this book.
she's angry that I left; I'm angry that I died ! The mere mention of Merlin from New CAMELOT series , which is THE BEST SERIES by the way, and I was salivating for his story. At the end of the series Merlin gives us a glimpse of his power of magic and his ancient life. You could've knocked me down with a feather on that bridge! And Sierra does JUST THAT ! A spellbinding tale that will transport you away from physical world into an ethereal above, you'll float high on a cloud of spells and magic. Reading a sierra book is akin to an otherworldy experience, Its a high like no other. Ancient times of kings and dungeons and diabolism and wizards comes alive right in her pages and youll want to touch it, dive into it and just want to live there !! Merlin is blessed with a sight that sees both ways but it's taxing and exacting. It also comes with a curse, which offsets his gains with equal losses the sight- it lets me see the past through my memories, the future through my Visions. The present through ways that even I don't fully understand
Was he really ......was Ash *gasp*😱 .yes..YES!! It all made sense now, it was destiny and Merlin was chosen as a guidance counselor to stand beside Arthur and clear his path to greatness. But what about the toll it took on Merlin himself, his life, what ultimate sacrifices he had to make to adhere to his loyalty towards his sworn duty? THAT is what THIS book is about. THE MOON. Moon has been forever associated with eternal love and carries a halo of mystery around it. Magic happens when MOON ripens to a full form...It's amore!! Merlin is epitome of eternal love with Nimue, he has been wandering through lives for over 1500 years to stand guard to protect Arthur/Ash and in the process meets, loses, dies, resurrects through his loves with Nimue. a narrow, lonely path, a giant arrow of Destiny pointing me towards my work and away from everything else They share magic and magic boldens and strengthens and doubles and winds itself around this glittering couple
He lays down his pride, his ego, his life at her feet. Not ashamed to lick her boots or accept pain at her merry little sadistic hands, open up his body for her to beat & flay open, or crawl on all fours for her. He's waited 23 years after the first taste to this second taste. If THAT'S not timeless eternal love then nothing is ! I would rather die than leave you and let me tell you about the time I did just that .
Sierra spins Magic, casts Enchanting spells, scintillates the senses, kinks up the sex and exhilarates the narration. I am in a trance!! Nothing more fulfilling to see this ferocious & avowed love being reciprocated with equal, if not more devotion and fervor ! I suddenly want to bleed for him, to die for him like he did for me. I want to give him my bones, my grave and The eternities of devotion I want more sierra...so much more....give me Lyr and Mark and Tristan and Isolde-esque story. Like thirsty travellers we'll travel a long time to arrive at CAMELOT 💕 just keep throwing us morsels or banquets of your words every now and then ! infinite stars for Little Moon & Wizard #BookBistroBlogApproved Follow us on : FB - https://www.facebook.com/groups/BookB... REVIEW: 4 Eternal Stars "Happiness is in her nature. Just like destroying me is."
Effortless, but hard hitting. That's my phrase for Sierra Simone for the day. Actually, I think for always. She has a unique way of telling a really great story, with a lot of depth, and this time she did it all in NINE chapters. NINE. 9. How do you cram that much emotion, that much depth and full-bodiedness (is that a word?) into nine chapters?? Well, she did!
After becoming slightly addicted to her New Camelot Series, I was shocked to hear there was going to be more to the story, but not in the traditional sense. This wasn't an add on story for Ash, Embry and Greer, but a deeper look into Merlin and Nimue, and how their life came to be. I am sure I am like many others that had a chip on their shoulders regarding Merlin for much of the series and I know I wasn't the only one that didn't trust him!! But, of course, Sierra drags me into a very different love story - one for the ages, literally. One that made me think outside the box and gave me a hidden look into this life that I wouldn't normally ever check out. I liked it! I liked it a lot. I saw a whole new side to Merlin, one I could never imagine. Nimue was a little vixen with her own wicked side as well, but seeing some of her New Camelot Series from this angle, almost like peeking in a window to see what's happening, was really eye-opening. It's like a behind the scenes look with a front row seat into the other characters while the others were making it through their trials and tribulations.
I will admit that I struggled at a few points and found myself rereading passages because I don't comfortably think along the fantasy ways of thinking and so I had to actually catch myself and re-read a few paragraphs. Not a big deal at all because that was a me issue, but it was just me trying to follow along and redirect my way of thinking. I am not a fantasy reader by choice but I was super intrigued, as well as somewhat confused, but still very interesting. Having said that, this was nothing short of a fantastical read.
"Finally, my suffering has purpose."
If you are curious about this one, remember - it is the 4th book in her New Camelot Series and it does contain spoilers for that series. There is an excerpt below that you can check out if you are curious. This novella was definitely the extra kind of read I could get behind. I love Sierra's imagination and how she can take a tale and make it a whole world that is an extraordinary escape beyond the confines of my boring mind. She always provides me an escape that is nothing short of amazing. At the end of the book, she listed alllll the books she has coming up and I could just fill my calendar!! Bring it on!
"It was only every her. It was only ever going to be her." ~BEE
Holy freaking wow! My love for Sierra Simone's wizadry continues to grow. This was a wild ride that left me positively spellbound! I don't care what Sierra writes, I'll be there to read it. As always her storytelling gift shines brightly.
I'm a certified Arthurian Legend fanatic, so this was right down my alley. It's a fantastical account of Merlin and Nimue's history. It's erotic and decadent. Intriguing and downright entertaining. Oh and quite kinky!
The writing is brilliant! The characters are...WOW. And...there are mentions of our favorite couple. I always love that! It's a quick read, novella length, but reads like fully fleshed out story.
If you're a fan of the New Camelot series, this is a Must Read!
Nimue no me gustó nada nadita o sea NOTHING!
Reading the New Camelot series, I was always interested in knowing more about Merlin. He was definitely not a guy I loved in the series. The part he has in all that happened was to big not to resent him a bit. But if you know the legend, you also know things needed to happen.
"Can you imagine? Having memories of your death from the time you were born"
Once again Sierra Simone gives History another point of view, hers, one I’ve enjoyed reading. Merlin & Nimue’s story was hot, entertaining and a good addition to the series. I’ve enjoyed knowing the stuff from the past and I was delighted to see a woman takes charge!
As you’ve probably read in other reviews, this is not really a stand-alone and is best appreciated if you’ve read Ash, Greer & Embry’s story first. There are big spoilers which could reveal the end of American King.
I’m always excited when Sierra writes a book. I’ve come to know she has this incredible way of mixing feelings and magic with her prose. The Moon was no different ♥
~ I voluntary read a copy of the book provided by the author ~
"How can I still love her more than I love myself? When she is my doom?" Thanks to The Moon, I discovered Sierra Simone's incredible writing style and her amazing storytelling.
This book is the story of Merlin and Nemue. I felt for Merlin from the the beginning, utterly enthralled by his story and his emotions. Thanks to flahbacks , we gather, little by little, the missing informations that enventually form the poignant whole picture of their past. Nemue's personality intrigued me, I absolutely loved this 40 years old sadistic heroine. There is no denying that these two are true soulmates. The steamy scenes that bind them beautifully illustrate their love and their passion. They also reflect the resentment and the deep pain they feel.
The author immersed me into her version of the Camelot world, and led me through the magic and mysterious atmosphere of this novella.
With this enticing read, the author totally convinced me and I am going to read more of her work very soon.
"All I want is to be transfixed by her perfection until I die, just as the legends about me have claimed."
PS:The Moon is a part of the Cards Of Love series. It's recommended to read the New Camelot series prior to The Moon (unlile I did) as it might contain American King spoilers. I VOLUNTARILY REVIEWED AN ARC COPY OF THIS BOOK. THANK YOU!!!
“You are so beautiful always. No matter what you’re doing. I’ve seen living magic and breathing legends, little moon, but you are the wonder of my eyes, you are the sight that steals my breath every single time.”
Cards of Love: The Moon is Merlin’s novella in Simone’s New Camelot Trilogy. This little kinky novella should be read after you finish the INCREDIBLE trilogy. Don’t you dare spoil it for yourself…I know you’re thinking of it because it’s Sierra FREAKING Simone, but make sure you get the full experience, because it’s one you will NEVER forget.
A sexy, provocative, alluring tale that spans lifetimes…Sierra Simone weaved her magic to give us a love story we never even knew we wanted. She gives us the timeless story of Merlin and Nimue. Of course there are so many versions of their story, but this author put her unique kinky stamp on it and made it her own…and I freaking LOVED IT!
This author is an unstoppable force of nature when it comes to this genre. She sucks you in like no other and leaves you wanting for more. Her poetic words of kink and romance is everything I could ever want as an avid reader. Merlin and Nimue are quite the pair. Their scorching hot dynamic is unique and you never know what’s going to happen. Sierra keeps us on our toes with this one and I had the most fun reading it. If you are looking for erotic romance at its finest…you could read practically ANYTHING by this woman and come out of it 150% satisfied. I can’t wait to see what she gives us next!
When I saw that there was a new series (Cards of Love) coming out I was intrigued and this was going to be a definite read. This is a multi-author project and the storylines come from the inspiration of the world of tarot.
The series became more appealing when I saw that Sierra Simone was involved and her card of choice was the Moon.
How would she interpret Merlin and Nimue's story using this card?
Her interpretation of Camelot was exceptional, so well written and my kind of read. This series had everything, two lives, two pasts, double the pain and twice the betrayal. Its charged with hot sex, age gaps, captivity, exchange of power and knowledge. Her reinterpretation of this story using kink in the framework and reconfiguring Merlin's death into a much happier event was superb.
What an appropriate card this is - the Moon, the card of illusion and it takes the reader on a walk of the unknown with Merlin and Nimue and produced one jaw dropping erotic tale of second chance romance - M/f in this instance.
Don't read this if you haven't read the other books in the Camelot series as you won't put together what is happening in this book. Also if kink is something you don't read then keep away as its there.
I was very happy to read that there is going to be further stories in this series and that there is going to be another MMF saga with kinky angst.
Holy Moses! What have I just finished!? Sierra Simone has transported me back through time!
I've always been fascinated with kings and the Legend of Camelot and King Arthur is no different... I just ate it all up.
Truly a racy and sexy recall of Merlin and Nimue's turbulent past. Erotic and passionate like only Sierra knows how to write. You'll be taken on a journey you will not want to miss! It's spiritual and you get an understanding of the moon and its meaning within the universe. It's a timeless love story, yet at the same time tragic.
This author is a literary genius! Whatever her brilliant mind conjures, I must read! It's official... I'm hooked.
If you loved the New Camelot trilogy, then this is a must read!
*AN ARC WAS KINDLY PROVIDED IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW.*
Sierra Simone appeals to my love of legends and literature every single time she takes us back into this world. Her retelling always stays true to the legend while also blending it with erotic romance. It is breathtaking and seductive, a world never to miss.
Merlin and Nimeu have been seen before in the Camelot Trilogy series. Their tale is one of betrayal and loss and love. Their story is about evolution of thousands of years, of a love that brings them back together time and again until they get it right, and this time we get to see them attain what they have always desired, each other and love.
What I always love about a Sierra Simone book, especially this series, is that there is the idea of reincarnation, that between lives, we change and grow until we get to our true destiny with the people we are meant to be with. She makes readers feel that love is limitless, that there is always another turn to get it right, and that no one stays stagnant. People change, grow, and evolve. There is also a sexual liberation that comes with her books. There is no judgment, no shame. Just acceptance of what makes someone feel good and feel loved. There is the idea that nothing is wrong with what brings you pleasure, and the intimacy in the bedroom is an extension of the love and dynamics outside of it.
As always, Sierra Simone astounds with her beautiful prose and erotic retellings of one of the most well known legends. Her writing never fails to draw me in.
If I’ve learned anything from Sierra Simone’s New Camelot it’s that love is the most, powerful, terrifying, consuming magic of all. And it’s only fitting that Merlin teaches the most important lesson of all - love surrendered only increases in power. “The Moon” is Merlin and Nimue’s story. It may only be a novella but it’s perfection. Entirely in Merlin’s POV, it’s a reinvention of Merlin’s captivity in the caves at Nimue’s hands. Will it end in his death as it had in past lives? Or does fate have something different in store for the man outside of time?
The quiet, manipulative wizard IS enormously sexy. And willing to submit to the sadistic love of his lives. But he's not only submitting to Nimue, he's submitting to the inevitability of love – even if it means his death. And by literally giving her his power, he shows so much strength, how can it not be sexy? Male subs are not generally my reading kink because the power exchange doesn't resonate. With Merlin it does – perfectly. But power exchange and kinky dark magic are Sierra Simone’s super powers, so it is no surprise. Maybe it's the magical realism. Maybe it's just his steadfast heart. Maybe it’s just Sierra Simone’s elegant way of making the psychological and spiritual aspects of kink just as much a turn on as the physicality. Such gorgeous, filthy beings we are when Sierra Simone tells our story. #TopReadof2018 #Heartbook #sendchampagneandcrops
I was pretty late to the party when it came to reading the New Camelot series, but once I started it, I couldn’t stop! So, when I found out that Sierra Simone book in the CARDS OF LOVE series was going to be Merlins story, I just knew I had to read it the minute it hit my kindle. And boy, was it everything I hoped for and more!!! Merlin and Nimues story is perfection. And it was smokin hot!! I cannot wait for the rest of the books in this series to be released; it’s already shaping up to be truly amazing!
This one is an interesting addition to the New Camelot world! I liked learning more about Merlin in this one. And I spotted so many mentions of Mark, Tristan, and Isolde 👀 Sierra published this in 2018 and already had an itch to tell their story. Fast forward to 2023 and it’s about to come out! I couldn’t have chosen a more perfect time to read this one!
This story is about Merlin and Nimue who come from the New Camelot trilogy. I only just finished book 2 and there is a spoiler from book 3 in the novella so please don’t ruin it for yourself and read the books in order. This story is filled with tragedy and the two fated people crash and burn throughout their lifetimes and Merlin is the only one who has to feel the pain of losing the love of his life over and over again. This story is emotional and also filled with some sexy scenes. This book allows you to not see Merlin as the mysterious bad guy you are introduced to in book 1.
I don’t exactly know what I was expecting from this story except maybe a lot of kinky fuckery LOL but what I got was way more. At first, when I finished reading, my first thought was .. what did I just read?! NOT because I didn’t enjoy it, quite the opposite, it was just … Incredible Amazing Powerful Captivating Mesmerizing Delicious AND SO MUCH MORE!
For reasons I’m not getting into right now, I never thought I would find myself a fan of this author. Well, she will never write another book I will not immediately one-click. Her mind is one of a kind! #TRUST
I hardly ever give a novella a 5-star rating but THIS one? Five stars aren’t enough.
Merlin & Numue’s story was incredible. Yes it was SUPER sexy, but you’d be missing the whole point of the story if you only focused on that. It’s a story of sacrifice, love lost and regained, confusion, betrayal, but most importantly the love between those two was epic. Selfless.
Merlin has my heart. Thank you Sierra for this incredible story!!!
I binge read Merlin & Numue's story. Absolutely loved it!!! It was the best kind of novella. A bite sized treat of intrigue, heat and emotions. I don't want to say too much so I don't spoil it for others but I will say it made me think about the real meaning of forever and I know I will reread and ponder Merlin's story for a long time. Definitely recommend.
Growing up, I adored the Arthurian tale of Camelot. I can't count how many times I've watched Excalibur (movie from 1981) to escape into the medieval action and adventure, and that epic love story. To me, this tale is the pinnacle of all love triangles and probably the biggest influence on my sense of literary romance. Sierra Simone has done a stunning job reimagining this with her New Camelot trilogy which is a series I highly recommend and one that MUST be read before reading her contribution to the Cards of Love novella series.
Honestly Merlin and Nimue barely registered on my radar when reading the trilogy because well, Ash, Embry and Greer are all consuming. Well, with this novella, these two gained my attention and the temptation to re-read the series is great (oh, such hardship that would be*snark*).
This is one soul wrenching love story that plays out with the kidnapped Merlin and his capture Nimue reflecting on the lives they've shared, and with Nimue extracting what she needs, what she has taken from Merlin in their past life. Their connection and interaction is unavoidable and bound to repeat itself as the two are back together in the newest incarnation of the fated legend. This story is filled with pleasure and pain, with a tragic and heartbreaking recollection of the past life, but Merlin's love for Nimue unwavering. Their story is sultry and erotically charged making it passion-filled read.
I got to thinking about a beautiful set of tarot cards a friend gifted to me and I wondered what the message with "The Moon" was. Essentially it's about the cycles of life on repeat and the "life" connected with the card reflect the reclusive, elusive, and all too wise soul. This characteristic is beautifully captured in this story and I highly recommend this surprise addition to the New Camelot series!
*I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*
***The Moon is the story of Merlin and Nimue from the New Camelot trilogy. It’s recommended that you read the trilogy first, as there are American King spoilers in The Moon.***
Hell yesss, a Novella from the Camelot trilogy, talk about doing the happy dance!!! lol I was soo consumed with that series as they were released and y'all, Cards of Love will suck you right in as well!!!
We were all intrigued by Merlin in the Camelot trilogy and now Sierra Simone is blessing us with his and Nimue's story!!! whoop whoop!!!
You will find out about Merlin's past and how he came to be. I tell you, it is sooo hard to write a review on a novella when it is packed full of soo much info and it references pieces of the story from the Camelot trilogy. Just know you need to go one click on release day and fall more in love with this mysterious man!!!
I gave Cards of Love 5 iScream Books Cones!!! And ladies, wait until you get to the end of the book, an additional authors note....eeeppp. slaps hand over her mouth
PS: Cards of Love is a massive multi-author project, a series of love letters to the mysterious and inspirational world of tarot cards. These can be read in any order, as the only thing the Cards of Love books share is their common inspiration from the world of tarot.
How cool is this???!!! I can't wait to read more of these books. I am sooo intrigued!!! xoxo
Fascinating and intriguing with a hint of magic and a long history of tragic.
Having already been well versed in the New Camelot stories I was well aware who these characters are and while you could read this as a standalone, I think it makes the experience richer having an idea about who everyone is.
Merlin has been this mysterious character and much like the Merlin of tales, he has the "sight" as an advisor to Arthur. He knows things and dabbles in the lives of others to make sure that things go as they should. While not really getting anything for himself but a broken heart.
Nimue is much younger than Merlin. She is ambitious and wants what Merlin has and of course, she has her own way of getting it. She is all dominant and fully in charge of this whole situation. While I do have to say this is usually a huge turn-off for me, I was so engrossed with where the story was going to go, I didn't mind it.
A mixture of past and present, Simone wove another interesting version of the Arthurian legend. This was a short story but packed a punch. It was super sexy while at the same time just really intriguing to read.
And, hello Merlin. My favorite secondary character in the New Camelot series. I can't lie, I was excited to see he was getting his story...and excited for the chance to know more about him. Wow, getting to know him was perfection.
This book, other than being hot enough that I might have learned a few things is also impossible to review.
A truthful review will look something like this and have the following: A mention of hot sex. Spoilers. The word fuck. Hot sex. 7 million more spoilers.
Sierra Simone likes to combust Kindles and explore fairy tales, legends and Camelot.
You don't need to know anything about Tarot cards or readings to enjoy this. I'm clueless about it and I wasn't lost at all. But you do need to have read the trilogy about Greer, Ash and Embry...or this will ruin one of the best moments in the books. So, start there if you haven't.
If you have read them, enjoy this title. I did and I recommend it.
