Not safe and also disgusting

- He is obsseded with her yet he hired a escort to givr him a BJ. He thinks of the heroine and his obssedion while another woman is sucking him. The heroine shows up he retrieves his d from the other woman's mouth, masturbates and orgams then with his dirty hand mixing his c*m and the ow salivas he touces the heroine face and mouth and shoves a finger in her mouth. Wait a minute until the nauses passes
- when they have sex they dont use condoms. Hid nasty ass genitalis was inside someone else mouth not long ago but she still let it touch her unprotected
- no others after that. Also later she isnt bothered with him going on dates with ow (is a pretense to keep the facade he needs) and he is bothered by her lack of jealousy and he claims he doesnt want to go with anyone else. Ha. The author already ruined this in the first chapter so too little too late now.

This while scene could have been only him masturbating. I have no idea why authors chose the disgusting options. The impact would be the same, his toughts would be the same, her reaction too but then this would be good.

I think authors and arc reviews need to understand the real concept on being obssesed because this hero is not it.

self note: the H is supposed to be "obsessed" with the h but in the first chapter he gets a BJ from an escort and the h sees it. i've loved jessa's previous work but this is NOT for me. i'd signed up for an arc while the first chapter/teaser of this book lay in my kindle for months until i finally read it and coincidentally, that's when i received an email saying that i was going to get the ARC. after reading that first chapter, i knew i wouldn't be able to enjoy it the way i should which is why i pulled back and chose not to get the ARC. that was on me for blindly signing up lol. never again. regardless, i really don't like it when a book is marketed as a "boy obssessed" romance but this is the typa shit that the H pulls. not for me, sorry *proceeds to run far, far away*

A Tempting Arrangement follows dark and moody billionaire, Damon Everett, and his pastel haired PR rep Misty. Damon needs to marry to fulfill his role as heir to the Everett family and he sees no better option than Misty, whom he is absolutely red flag obsessed with. Misty has her own worried and problems so she decides to go along with this marriage of convenience with her boss. As always, with power and money, Damon has many people that wish to take his place, but what they don’t know is that Damon will do anything and everything to protect his little nymph.

This book was dark and twisty in ways I wasn’t fully expecting, but absolutely loved. I’m loving this new direction Jessa is taking her writing with this series. I can’t where to see where this goes next. It’s loosely connected to her Rule Breaker series, with appearances from the main characters, but much darker and intense. It can definitely be read as a standalone with only minor spoilers for the other books.

The most fasted DNF I’ve ever experienced man was getting a bj from OW the first few sentences in the book.

Besides chapter one, bs. This could've been an amazing read for many if chapter one didn't happen lol. All safety info is at the bottom.

Damon is a top-tier red flag guy with all the things he does to make sure Misty is his. Camera in her home, making her work closer to him! Making sure her visa is expired so she has a reason to say yes to marrying him! Like things I love. It takes a minute for Misty to even agree. She thinks he couldn't want a girl like her. In her eyes, her past bf broke her she fills her life with bright bold colors and tries to smile and think everything is okay even with what happened to her.

Once they are married, lord, it still is a push and pull, but the things he does! Dyes her hair for her, gives her many O, and is there for her when she finally tells him about her scars. a man who would kill for her, and he does she does accept him and his darkness and the drama from their secret society. The spice was delicious also.

You have some past couples from the hockey series. And Damon brothers I love the brothers I know one is a party animal/manwhore (it's not shown just told). But the brothers friendship is gold.

Safety gang- if you want skip chapter 1 it's him getting a bj I skipped it so I don't know what else happened.
h does dance with a guy when she's mad at H. Lol H is there and tosses her on his shoulder. She also calls someone over to fk her, but H comes and toss him out the balcony the date can see them have sex and after H tossed him out. She only did those 2 things because she claimed she loved his jealous side. Nothing else happened.
There is An SA scene of the past it's not detailed, but it shows why the h has scars and flinches.

I picked this book up this morning and I literally finished it. I ate it up. I devoured it. Even with some details and things in the book where I had to pause and really think about it, my satisfaction from the overall book and enjoyment from soooo many cute details and scenes completely overpowered any possible "detractors".

"MY LIFE" SHAIFHEIHIAHO. YOU GUYS. ITS ALL ABOUT THE QUIET DETAILS. I ABSOLUTELY FOLDED.

To start off, the book centers around Damon (H) and Misty (h) and Damon was and is COMPLETELY enchanted by Misty and obsessed with her from the moment he first met her. The only “tricky” part for some of you (not really me and for reasons I'll go into and shouldn’t be for YOU either because the author did this in a way where i liked—which is in a tasteful manner) is that the book begins with him receiving a bj from an escort even though he is already obsessed with Misty despite their few and far [negative] interactions. However, a saving grace those of you may be interested in is that he only thought of Misty going into it and had to imagine Misty in order to get through it (imo that justification does not ever really cut it for me, but the reason this book still receives a five star and is an exception to this was that it was at the very beginning of the book--like literally chapter 1--and before any relationship development began and this was pretty much one and done, this isn't a reoccuring thing nor does it become a problem factor for the book. And you can really tell from Damon that the only person he ever wants is Misty.)

case in point: for context, they are discussing the details of their marriage and this is from his POV when she suggests that he continues to look for a wife during their engagement.

"The muscles in the back of my neck leading into my hairline clench, hating the idea that she'd be okay with me dating other women. I'm not fucking okay with it. I rein myself in."

the characters:
↳ Damon Everett (H), the billionaire grumpy CEO...I feel like that's all I really need to say. But this man is literally everything I want in a book. An obsessive hero who goes borderline mental when it comes to their girl ever being in a position of discomfort or pain. He is always always always in Misty's corner and makes it clear that he makes no hesitation in putting her before anyone in his life.

↳ Misty Hart (h), and then there's Misty, an absolute pixie of a human who is driven, and sweet but also has a bite to her. She does have a dark past which unravels in the story which of course leads to a constantly enraged hero who goes mad at anyone who touched his wife because what more could you want?

And the relationship between Misty and Damon's brothers was absolutely adorable and so wholesome and seeing them be so protective over her, and naturally just taking a brotherly role towards her was a very enjoyable part of the book.

I will say though, the one aspect of this book that took a bit of time wrapping my head around was how this book was like your marriage of convenience, office romance but then mashed up with an aspect that is normally reserved in dark romances of a secret society. At first, It did not really make a ton of sense to me but because I picked this book up as my silly cute romance I didn't care and I actually love secret society so it was just like whatever. And by the latter half of the book, I thought the Jessa ended up executing it so well and I loved it because there were just SOOOO MANY good scenes that were set up by this plot while simultaneously not being nor feel "artifical" or "unnatural" in the way that authors do when they attempt to force all these popular tropes into a book just so they can get a headliner or clip to advertise this book if you know what I mean. it was just RIGHT for damon and misty.

Cringeworthy insta love with the “most feared man” of an underworld secret society. A lord.

But like.. he’s not an ounce scary. At all.
While entertaining enough, I just felt secondhand embarrassment for it FMC who gets wet all the time around her boss. Even when he’s getting his 🍆 sucked in his office and she walks in.
But he loves her… idk. The relationship didn’t work for me personally.

He is this so called broken man but like.. the character building wasn’t there.

“We’d been raised for this, and when they tried to take it away from us, we destroyed to get it back. Even as boys, we’d been feared. I’ve made sure to hone that fear, to twist it into power so no one dares come after us again.”

The MMC and his brothers were more sweet than villainous so, the few paragraphs thrown in sporadically to remind the readers how villainous and alpha they are… wasn’t believable.

I finished the book but it’s a dud for me on finishing the series unfortunately.

Let me start this off by saying I couldn’t care less if the book starts off with the MMC in an intimate scene BEFORE meeting the FMC and let me say this again BEFOREEEE MEETING THE FMC. So, when I was reading the first chapter and he was getting a blowjob from an escort, I didn’t really care until I turned the page and, WHILE GETTING THE DAMN BLOWJOB HES THINKING OF THE FMC UMMMM?!?!?!. Later, I find out he’s been “obsessed” with her for an entire year, but in that year, he’s been paying for sex, sleeping around, and getting blowjobs from god knows how many women, all while stalking the fmc and interfering when a guy tries to flirt with her. Sorry, but he can sleep around, but she can’t? And when I say obsessed, I mean cameras in her house obsessed. But is he really obsessed if he can sleep with other women and think about the fmc while doing it? Anyways I read this book a couple of days ago and forgot everything I liked about it so is it worth a read? Um depends it was entertaining and I rated it 3 stars for the vibes but is he gonna be your next fav book boyfriend? I doubt it and is she gonna be your next girl crush? I was so repulsed in the first few chapters that I wanted to kms for ever picking this up. But then I noticed Damon slowly showing his golden retriever side (only for his wife, of course 🎀) and I fell in love a little. And I love his brothers too much to be disparaging towards this storyline, especially the blasphemous amount of smut in this book (though I WILL complain because that first chapter was physically paining me 🔪) but oh well. I liked this, weirdly enough. 🥰

There isn't anything that Damon wouldn't do to make Misty his. He brings a whole new meaning to the word obsessed and stalker. Make an eye rate scheme to get her to marry him? Check. Buy an airline to have a job and pictures with her? Check.

Misty has always had a mask on for everyone. Damon sees another side of her that no one sees. Darkness recognizes darkness. How she pushed him and met him at his own game is comical and a genius.

Add a secret society, and now you have a spicy capacity book. This is my first book from the author and will not be my last. I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading more about the Everett brothers.

But, the book contains a lot of intense plots as well, I particularly didn't get the "rival gang" coming to endanger the Fl, as I thought based on the blurb it would be more of an office romance rather than a badboy rival gang type one.

Thank you to Valentine PR and Jessa for the e-arc — I don't know if I've read something entirely different to everyone else, but this missed the mark for me, and to what I had initially expected. I feel like I have a lot to say on this, but very little words to actually express how I felt when reading this. Please do not read this if you loved this book or if you're the author. While this review isn't intending to come from a place of malice and is no way attacking the author, it is my honest thoughts on what I have read.

To start, I really wanted to like this, I’m a huge fan of Jessa’s books and have read her work before, so was really looking forward to her take on a marriage of connivence. The tropes were also something that intrigued me, because who doesn’t love an obsessed man, red flag galore.

I'd like to think that I'm quite well versed in the genre of dark romance; it's one of my favourite sub genres to read, but this wasn't it, for me at least. While I went in knowing about what the triggers were for this, and it stating that was different and quite dark compared to her other work; the overall story felt very choppy and fast paced and I think because of that, I felt somewhat awkward when reading this. My biggest issue, however, was that there was no character build up whatsoever and I found myself cringing, like very early on. Damon is obsessed with Misty, but I didn't get that "obsessed with you" vibe; it was more like what was being narrated to me and his actions that told me he was obsessed (again, i think due to the lack of character build up and how fast things were moving, his actions came across as over the top and very disjointed - I get that it's a red flag, it's not supposed to be normal behaviour, but it just didn't flow for me.

Misty was so hot and cold; one minute she's angry at Damon, then she's lusting after him, and then knowing what he can be like, is trying to make him jealous and then get annoyed by his obsessive behaviour - I just couldn't get a read on her.

This is a standalone, book one of the series, but if you've read Jessa's previous work, then you'll have met Misty before and her friends who all make an appearance in some capacity in this book. I think there may even be appearances from other characters from another book, too, but I did struggle to keep up with remembering the characters - forgive me, I was only able to remember those from the Rule Breaker series. In saying that, this did read like I was missing something, I'm not sure if it had to do with the secret society that Damon and his brothers were apart of, but for me, it just aided with how choppy this felt in places.

Fantastic job, Jessa! I loved everything about this story. There’s a great cast of characters: the obsessed Damon, the strong-willed Misty, and the rabble (numerous cameos from other J Wilder books). It’s a thrilling and fast-paced plot full of danger and secrets. Easily a one-sitting read.

This story is darker than some of Jessa’s more recent releases, but it is not a particularly dark romance. Darker elements are explored, but the actual relationship between Damon and Misty is sweet – in an overprotective, over-possessive, touch-her-and-die, light-stalking kind of way.

A Tempting Arrangement is a fast-burn and spicy MF romance.

Misty and Damon’s story ends here in a HEA. Future books will follow the other Everette brothers to their own HEAs.

I will literally read anything Jessa writes and this is no exception.

Damon, this man let me tell you he is obsessed and unhinged for his women. It's always in your best interests to not even look at his women. He's such a grump but not for her. 


Misty, you're one lucky woman. This man literally will take care of anything and everything she ever needs even if she does think she deserves it, but he sure as fuck thinks she does




This is a must read of 2024. This book reminded me why I love dark romances and how I need to get back into reading more of them.


*You don't need to read Jessa’s other books before this one (you should because they're amazing) but if this one is drawing you in first then go with it. There are characters in A Tempting Arrangement from two of her other series.

Some of my fave tropes! Marriage of Convenience, Workplace, ONE BED, "My Wife", touch her and die vibes and a little bit of light stalking AND ALLL THE 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩 because you know that RED is my favorite color when it comes to fictional men 😏. Damon is obsessed with sunshiney Misty. On paper they don't make sense together but she's everything he needs.

I have read every book that Jessa has written and THE WHOLE CREW made an appearance in this one! Rule Breakers and The Gentleman - the way I chanted OMG OMG OMG when I saw The Gentleman!

I am sooooo excited for the rest of this series....Jessa you nailed this one!!!!!

I enjoyed this book but not a book I would read again…
It has the power to be awesome but fail to do it. I felt like the plot was a little underdeveloped for me. I wish there was more character development with misty and more of her background.

Book #1 of Twisted Vows Series

Damon Everett, and his pastel haired PR rep Misty. Damon needs to marry to fulfill his role as heir to the Everett family and he sees no better option than Misty, whom he is absolutely red flag obsessed with. Misty has her own worried and problems so she decides to go along with this marriage of convenience with her boss. As always, with power and money, Damon has many people that wish to take his place, but what they don’t know is that Damon will do anything and everything to protect his little nymph. 

Damon Everett -, the billionaire grumpy CEO...I feel like that's all I really need to say. But this man is literally everything I want in a book. An obsessive hero who goes borderline mental when it comes to their girl ever being in a position of discomfort or pain. He is always always always in Misty's corner and makes it clear that he makes no hesitation in putting her before anyone in his life. 

Misty Hart - an absolute pixie of a human who is driven, and sweet but also has a bite to her. She is not afraid to stand up for her self, even if it mean pushing Damon boundaries. She does have a dark past which unravels in the story which of course leads to a constantly enraged hero who goes mad at anyone who touched his wife because what more could you want? 

If I am going to be honest, they relationship is very toxic but they make it work and they were truly made for each other. Their darkness match each other and Damon always tried to make sure Mistry knew she was the only one, even when she thought he was faking it to get his inheritance but in reality Damon was truly obsessed with her. I did love how Misty slowly realized how much she loved and cared for Damon and was ready to stand by his side for the rest of their lives. They were each other anchor in a world full of dangerous turns.

Twisted Vows serisinin ilk kitabı olsa da yazarın Rule Breaker Serisi ile de bağlantılı belli ki. Orda yer alan hokey oyuncularının patronu Damon ve halkla ilişkiler çalışanı Misty'nin hikayesiydi.

Everette ailesi bir çok alanda faliyet gösteren bir aile.Açıkçası ben kitaplarda yer alan kardeşlik, tarikat vs durumlarının işlenmesini sevmiyorum.Benim için çekici bir konu değil.

Bunun dışında yine hızlı okudum.Ama bana pek etki eden bir kurguydu diyemem. Özellikle finalde Misty'nin ailesi ilede bir yüzleşme beklemedim değil ama diğer kişiyle yaşananlar belki yeterlidir diye düşünülmüş olabilir.

Arada kaldığım bir kitap.Devam etsem mi etmesem mi? Bakacağız artık 😅
