"Little Mouse's grandfather offers lessons that change Little Mouse's viewpoint and may alter a young reader's perspective, too... Adults could discuss the importance of finding and complimenting the good qualities in others to build long-lasting bonds and cooperation. The author includes comprehension questions for discussion and reflection, and Emma Allen's illustrations are eye-catching." -- Courtnee Turner Hoyle, Readers' Favorite

Cute story about discovering one’s strengths and appreciating skills in others. The chapters are short, so it is easy to read with young kids and break up the story because it’s long for one sitting. The animals are cute in developing their friendship and practicing mindfulness.

This is the perfect beginners chapter book. My daughter and I read a couple chapters a night at bed time till we finished. The illustrations were whimsical. This book helps kids be brave and deal with things that might seem impossible and to recognize others unique talents. Also how to be cool and collected instead of let their emotions get to them. Like little mouse size does not matter what matters is your decision to be brave or not. This book also touches on having to deal with moving when you don't want to.
I highly recommend this book. Good story with adorable illustrations. I love how Little Mouse takes Grandpa Mouse's advice to heart and makes friends with the other farm animals. When he made friends with each of the animals, he was sure to point out to each one what their strengths are and how the strengths make the individual animal unique.
All of the individual strengths plus Little Mouse's encouragement plus the message inscribed along the inside brim of the Holy Grail gave the Farm Animals the motivation they needed to stand up to the wolves, hyenas and vultures and win the Wolf War again.
This story teaches the lesson that each of us are unique with our different strengths, but when we're worried about something, that we can focus on our strengths and use them for what we are worried about.
