What happens when a gang of rogue pixies takes the troublemaking just a little too far?

They get noticed by the U.S. Army and playtime is over.

Now that they’ve been caught, they can either sign their lives away to enter an experimental new program for magical Army soldiers or accept a one-way ticket back to Oriceran.

Can Z and her cousins learn to rein in the chaos as new magical Army recruits?

Find out with this 8-book boxed set!

---

Z Thornbrook and her cousins are like any other Oriceran pixie on Earth. Mischief is their middle name, and for the last hundred and fifty years, that's been their game.

But what happens when a gang of rogue pixies takes the troublemaking just a little too far?

They get noticed. By the U.S. Army. And playtime is over.

Now that they’ve been caught, it’s time for Z, her cousins, and the entire pixie gang to face the music, and they only have two choices. Sign their lives away to enter an experimental new program for magical Army soldiers - or accept a one-way ticket back to Oriceran for good.

For any other pixie, this would be a no-brainer. They don't back down, and they definitely don't take orders from anyone, even other pixies. But for Z and her eccentric cousins, returning to their home planet is a fate worse than death.

It's time to lace up their boots and stand at attention—or not.

Because the Thornbrook pixies are heading off to magical Bootcamp run by humans, and the Army had no idea what they were getting themselves into.

Z, Domino, and Echo must find the acceptable middle ground between being who they are, in all their chaotic pixie glory, and following the terms of their magically binding contract.

But training three Army pixies is no joke—if it's even possible at all.

Okay, I'm a late bloomer who's a big DC comics fan and spent my childhood summers on the Jersey shore but I was born under a wandering star and have lived in different parts of America ever since. That's enough about me. Need to feel inspired today? Looking for something to make you root for an ordinary hero? I'm all about that in everything I write.

I love a good tale that makes me wonder about things and I love a story even more that leaves me feeling inspired or like I'm capable of doing more than I realized. That's my goal with everything I've ever written. Some of the stories I tell involve twisting, turning thrillers and others have a lot of magic.

There's something to be said for getting lost in another world and coming out the other side feeling a little better about yourself or the possibilities in front of you. That's basically the best part of life in a nutshell, no matter what kind of story I'm setting out to tell.

Thank you for checking out my stories!

I like Martha Carr's writing - I have purchased literally dozens of her books and have a pretty good feel for her writing style. This was the first series of her books that disappointed me. Sure, I know that I'm not going to get the next great American novel, but her characters, plots, and world-building are usually interesting and fun. This series was set in the Oriceran universe that multiple authors from ‎ LMBPN Publishing take advantage of. I expect crazy situations and plot holes and plot manipulation, but not in a problematic way. I also anticipate that each book in one of Martha's series will end without resolution of the major magical mystery that spans the series (which is why I usually wait until the series is finished to start reading the books!). But this series was pretty repetitive and boring. I hate to say that since I do like Martha's other books. If you've never read any of Martha's books before, don't take this series as an indication of what she has to offer.

(FYI I tend to only review one book per series, unless I want to change my scoring by 0.50 or more of a star. -- I tend not to read reviews until after I read a book, so I go in with an open mind.)

3.5*

First time read the author's work?: No

Will you be reading more?: Yes

Would you recommend?: Yes

------------
How I rate Stars: 5* = I loved (must read all I can find by the author)
4* = I really enjoyed (got to read all the series and try other books by the author).
3* = I enjoyed (I will continue to read the series)
or
3* = Good book just not my thing (I realised I don't like the genre or picked up a kids book to review in error.)

All of the above scores means I would recommend them!
-
2* = it was okay (I might give the next book in the series a try, to see if that was better IMHO.)
1* = Disliked

Note: adding these basic 'reviews' after finding out that some people see the stars differently than I do - hoping this clarifies how I feel about the book. :-)

A cherished treasure

A slightly violent beginning with totally fabulous characters. Absolutely amazing storyline and activities which ( if you would attempt this) requires heart, courage, compassion, belief, trust and lots of unconditional truth and the love of one's family. Mind blowing word bending and hilarious quotes are part of the whole. It's a must read for anyone not to serious about life's ups and downs, but rather just get on with it. I love it.

It's a lot of books about pixies, so take it slow and steady 😉

I brought the full set and have been reading it for a week or so, taking breaks at the end of each book. It's good, but you need a bit of patience, cos the pixies behave just like my kids did when they discovered the word WHY. It drove me out of my tree for a while, and this book kept reminding me 🥴
Still, I finished the series, and would recommend it.

nice series

I liked the characters a lot because they are well-developed. Scenarios are a lot of fun because they are creatively designed. That said, however, there felt like a lot of repetition filler in the storyline. Glad I stayed with it throughout all 8 books, but it required some fortitude!

well written and intriguing

At the beginning I was confused and stunned by the Pixies shenanigans. Then I caught up with them and expected them all the way through the series of 8 books. Couldn’t stope reading and laughing and afraid! All emotions at once. I loved it!

I couldn't put it down until I read all of the books. I loved all of the magic and mystery. And couldn't wait to see what happened next. Enjoyed it right up to the end.
