It’s summer in Blueberry Bay, and that means fireflies, festivals, and family gatherings!
As June rolls around, Alissa Lewis has never been happier. She and Dane are working together to turn The Outlet into a premier newspaper and magazine, and her debut novel is in bookstores around the country. And she’s eager to take part in the upcoming summer festival that’s been the talk of the town.
But the closer the festival gets, the more she notices Dane is acting strangely, prompting her to wonder if their relationship isn’t as solid as she thought it was. Is there trouble in paradise, or is there some other reason for Dane’s odd behavior? What secret is he hiding?
Meanwhile, Caitlin is struggling to save her marriage, but she doesn’t know how to fix things with James—especially after she finds out that he’s been keeping a secret of his own.
And for Hannah Jenkins, summer is a time for daydreaming about the future. Although she loves music, she’s torn between moving away to pursue a musical career and staying in town to help her father run his restaurant. But when a handsome young man named Luke comes to Blueberry Bay to visit his aunt and uncle for the summer, he helps Hannah realize that she’s been letting fear hold her back.
Is she brave enough to spread her wings and take a leap of faith?
Nestled against the beautiful New England town of Whale Harbor, Blueberry Bay is a cozy coastal town with sandy beaches and a cast of characters who’ll make you laugh, smile, and be swept away. If you enjoy clean romance and stories that celebrate family and friendship, this series is for you!
This book was very filled with so many good stories. How Dane tried so hard to fit into Blueberry Bay and how Alissa got her job after getting fired in Denver. Hannah and Luke getting together. All of the surprises that Dane did. I am looking forward to see how Alissa's sister's problem turns out. Fiona is such a good story teller.
Ahhhh… I am loving this break from reality to the friendly town of Blueberry Bay
When reading non fiction and news and work and… life… sometimes it is so nice to relax into a great story with happy nice people who care about each other. I actually am blessed to live somewhere very much like that. Reading this series makes me appreciate what I have. The difference is, I am turning 70 this summer and that sounds old. But this little jaunt to Blueberry Bay makes me remember the magic of summer loves and how life can change when you don’t even know you are making memories for a lifetime. I also relive divorcing the father of my 3 kids when my eldest was 4 1/2 and the twins were 18 mos. I remember the fears and the fierce mama me who was determined to put one foot in front of the other. And I am ever so filled with gratitude for them and what they taught me I could be, by simply being themselves, and my everything.
A Secret in the Bay is another delightful book by Fiona Baker. The focus is on sisters Alyssa and Caitlin. There's a surprise for Alyssa in her relationship with Dane and a "bad" surprise for Caitlin and her husband. Also in the book is Hannah Jenkins, who works at The Crab with her father. Hannah is a staple in Blueberry Bay and close to her father, who was left by his wife. I like the changes that happen in the book. People are sometimes afraid of change, but it's often the best option. I really liked how "old" and new relationships develop. I always feel like part of the small town when I read Fiona Baker's books. She never disappoints.
I enjoyed the second book as it tells the story of each character journey. This is a clean romance and set in a beautiful coastal town. The characters are realistic, friendly and interesting. I can't wait to see what happens next. As always happy reading
A good installment in the series. This one we see the reoccurring characters. We get to see more development of their relationships. We get to see also some new characters. The storyline is very sweet and I’m enjoying it.
I love the journey Fiona Baker takes her readers on. I can't wait to see what happens next as Hannah begins a new chapter in her life. And what will happen with Caitlin?
Nestled against the beautiful Rhode Island coast, Blueberry Bay is a cozy town with sandy beaches and delightful shops and eateries. The wonderful characters and their stories celebrate family and friendship. These are clean romances and I enthusiastically recommend the series.
