Big Girls Do It #11

Big Love Abroad

Rate this book
**A full-length, standalone novel set in the world of the BIG GIRLS DO IT series**

I was finally fulfilling my life-long dream of studying at Oxford University in England. I had a thesis. I had an apartment. The one thing I didn’t have was time for a man. Especially not one as sexy and intriguing and distracting as Ian Stirling. Okay, I mean, maybe I did have a little time for a man. After all, it’s not every day a ripped British sex-god sweeps you off your feet and does dirty, delicious things to you.

Again and again. And again.

For days.

The problem is, Ian was just supposed to be a hunky distraction, but now my heart is craving him like my mouth craves cupcakes.

Yes! Yes! YES! Jasinda Wilder returns to the sensational world of her Big Girls series, and the results are ravishing and downright addictive! I loved everything about this book! It's sexy as all get-out! So much passion, so much heated heat! Is that even grammatically correct? Probably not, but who cares!? This book rocked my world! Sorry, there's no vanilla here...move along(; There were moments when I literally began to sweat! Yes, sweat! Not to sound cliche, but I seriously could not put the book down. I started reading it this morning after the kids left for school, and I finished it tonight. There was no stopping, no pause. I had to know, I had to have my next fix. I felt like a juvenile junkie! It wasn't until I began to feel faint that I realized I hadn't moved in hours, forgetting to eat or drink. Now, that's when you know you've scored a delicious masterpiece when it demands your every waking hour. Ahhhh! It's so perfect! Ian's perfect. Nina's perfect. I loved the travel, loved the literature references, loved London! I mean hell, who doesn't love London and British speaking men? Kudos to you Mrs. Wilder for delivering yet another breathlessly appealing, sexually charged romance where women with curves are adoringly appreciated.

This series is what got me addicted to Jasinda Wilder's books!

This book can be read as a standalone

but I HIGHLY suggest that you read this whole series!

Once you start, you will fall in love with hot, sexy, funny characters Jasinda has created!

Best part, is the main characters are real woman with curves! No unrealistic bodies & woman who have real insecurities we can all relate to!

Okay so this book I devoured in a couple of hours.  I loved it from beginning to end.

We get new characters Nina & Ian!

Ian is a new book boyfriend with a Brit accent to obsess over!  Seriously he couldn't be any more hotter!  Nina is one lucky lady!

Loved how hot their chemistry with each other was from the moment they met on the plane to the end of their story.

Ian & Nina's story is based in London with its love, kinky hot sex, new adventures, drama, insecurities.   I was totally rocked hard reading this book.

Jasinda knows how to setup and get us emotionally attached to her characters.   I also loved how Jasinda mentioned quite a few Literary references through out the book.  I am an English Major so I totally giggled & smiled BIG when I noticed the references.   And of course, always humor in her books!  I LOL at the sarcastic banter back and forth with Nina & Ian.

Get this book!  It is a fantastic read!

GIVEAWAY OVER
Big Love Abroad
Big Love Abroad by Jasinda Wilder
Contemporary Erotic Romance. Full length, complete standalone, can be read as #11 in the Big Girls/Rock Stars Do It Series
As much as I love Jasinda Wilder's writing, I haven't read all of her books. In fact, I haven't read beyond book 2 in the Big Girls Series. Since I'm OCD about never reading a series out of order, I probably wouldn't have read   Big Love Abroad  if Jasinda hadn't told me herself that it is completely different characters. If there was any crossover (beyond the cover) between the Big Girls/Rock Star books and Big Love Abroad, I never felt or noticed that I was missing anything.

I absolutely LOVED Big Love Abroad. At first, I must admit, I was a little disappointed that the lead character, Nina, wasn't even plus sized, just very curvy. But I like that weight wasn't a huge issue in the book except for how her insecurities about her curves pop up, which exists for most women, plus sized or average.
QUOTE MARKI was aware that my body shape wasn’t what the average guy wanted. I was five-four— barely— and my weight fluctuated between one-forty and one-fifty, my curves centered on my hips, ass, and tits. If a guy liked his girls ultra-curvy, I was his type; I was all curves. I wasn’t overweight or out of shape, though."

Though Nina was pretty comfortable in her skin, she had some hang-ups that were very relatable.
QUOTE MARKI wanted a guy to be interested in me. In who I was. I wanted a guy to like me and to be attracted to me, not just despite my body-shape, but for it."

Nina and Ian meet on the plane from the US to England. Nina is going to get her masters at Oxford in English Lit, and Ian is moving home after a breakup with his US girlfriend. Ian is big, commanding, and gorgeous, and Nina is a curvy Latina type, and their connection was palpable. They chatted during the whole long flight, and it was enough to know there was something more there.

So he invited her out to meet his closest friends, the ones he hasn't seen in a year. The affection Ian showed Nina was effortless, and he quickly made his intentions very clear.
QUOTE MARKI’d like very, very much to get you naked and have lots and lots of hot, and possibly rather kinky sex with you. This is a spacious flat. I can think of at least a half-dozen places I’d like to fuck you up against, and that’s just what I can see from where I’m sitting."

Big Love

Jasinda writes AMAZING and LONG sex scenes. Usually they are very intense and lovey-dovey. But in Big Love Abroad, Jasinda stepped the sex up a notch and made it a little dirtier, and holy hell, it was H-O-T! I actually had to stop reading for a day until Mr. Ana was available to hmmmm...'help' with my reading.

There was a fairly big angsty part of the book that made me angry with both Nina and Jasinda, but I think it added a lot of realism, and made the ending even better.

Big Love Abroad

Likes:
•A light, sexy, happy read.
•A relatable heroine.
•A heroine with slight body confidence issues.
•The angst that added realism and more super hot scenes.
•I loved Lucas's literary description of Fifty Shades.
•Holy Hot Sex!!!
•That it completely stands alone.
•I freaking LOVED Ian.
•That Jasinda made the sex a little dirtier than previous books.

Dislikes:
•I would have liked if this "Big Girl" were a bit bigger.
•I hate that it's listed as part of a series though it completely stands alone. It's kicking my OCD up a notch.

Rating: 4.5-4.75 Stars 5 Heat

The Down and Dirty
Big Love Abroad was a perfect vacation read for me. It was a perfect combination of sexiness, dirtiness and romance, mixed with just the right amount of angst. It's one of those guilty pleasures you lap up like ice cream. I'm surprised this book isn't the big talk of the town, because it's just that good. If you like stories about Americans in London, stories with tons of hot and a little dirty sex, stories with angst and romance, and did I say super-hot sex? You have found it. It is NOT necessary to have read ANY of the other books in the series before.

5 Big Lovin’ Stars – Hold Onto Those Panties Ladies, Ian Stirling is Here.

“My heart stopped and my mouth went dry. Well, hello Mr. Chunk o’Hunk.”

Nina Herrera is about to set off on the biggest adventure of her life, she’s been accepted to Oxford University, where she’ll be studying for a Master’s Degree in Literature, her passion. Taking a huge leap of faith and leaving her family and friends behind to travel across the world is exciting, thrilling, liberating and terrifying for Nina. Though the move isn’t the only thing terrifying Nina she has a very real and serious fear of flying. After boarding her plane and settling into seat, she’s surprised and delighted when the sexiest man, she's ever laid eyes on, settling into the seat right next to her.

“Don’t look away. Don’t let it get away. Don’t run.”

Ian Stirling is the man that Nina never saw coming. Sliding into his seat, smelling and looking positively divine, Nina is now feeling blessed, flustered, flushed and still terrified of flying. Bonding almost instantly over their mutual fear of flying, these two have that insta-spark, and it’s entertaining as hell to experience. The banter, the flirting, the smirking, and all that sexual tension makes for a very interesting lead into what is now guaranteed to be a very sexy, very enjoyable read. From them debating men wearing Band-Aids, pink Hello Kitty ones to be exact, to their feelings regarding real men carrying umbrellas and using hand lotion, I was snickering from the very start.

“He smiled at me, and if I hadn’t been sitting down, my panties might have fallen off.”

The tangible desire that simmers between Nina and Ian is decedent and so delicious, I had flushed cheeks, and found myself shifting restlessly in my seat more than once. Ian is a take charge, take the leap kind of guy, whereas Nina is a planner, a labeller, obsess about it till it makes her nuts type of girl. Total opposite personality types, but where they are totally in sync, is in their desire and attraction to each other. Nina is shocked and amazed that such a dreamy specimen could be not only interested in her, but pursuing her openly after only having met her hours before. Ian sees a beautiful, funny, intelligent woman that he has a very real desire to spend more time with and of course pleasure her in ways no man has before.

“I realized this could spell something beautiful…or something heartbreaking. Maybe both.”

Jasinda Wilder gives us yet another erotic and sexy read, perfectly written with expertly placed humor, layered emotions, and enough drama to keep you hooked from the beginning. Her characters are fabulous, giving us a sexy alpha man to swoon, sigh and pant over, but most important, a strong female character that is not supermodel thin or surgically enhanced. Nina represents most women, real women with curves and insecurities, but also an attitude that says love for me, the way I am or shove off. I loved Nina, I’m not going to lie, I did want to smack her upside her pretty head more than once, but that being said she is real. I understood her struggles, her doubts, her fears.

Ian, oh Ian, Ian, Ian, I fell totally in love with him, from the first moment he smirked at Nina on that plane. Charming as the devil himself, with a naughty mouth and a sexy accent, a body that won't quit and some skills that all men should sit up and take notes on, he’s everything you could ever want in a book boyfriend. Ian's a keeper.

I loved this book from start to finish, I highly recommend picking up, Big Love Abroad, truthfully you can never go wrong with a Jasinda Wilder novel, she never fails to deliver the goods. *wink* *wink*

“Nothing is ever simple, Nina. It’s how you deal with the complications that defines who you are.”

I FREAKING LOVE YOU JASINDA! I feel like I'm a Nina the one that over thinks EVERYTHING to the point I chase people away because of insecurities our scared to feel! Every woman needs an Ian to help to take charge, not in a dominating, I'm goiing to run over you type, but the one that holds you by his side and just gently tug or push you into the right direction!
This series was my 1st series on my Kindle and got my highly addicted to reading, stalking authors and swag! Thank you for being my 1st lol!

This was cute. I've read the entire series. Very point in time for me...not sure it's something I'd pick up nowadays, but they are quick and sweet reads. I do like Jasinda Wilder though and the "Big Girls Do It" is a great intro to her work! :)

I love this series! Big Love Abroad had me on the edge of my seat. It was hot, sexy, and sweet. We see retuning character, Ian, find his own "big" love, the hot and sassy Nina.

Nina is working to become an independent woman but when her plane ride offers a life changing opportunity, how can a girl say no? Ian is looking to forget his past relationship, striving to find what he left in the states. Both are driven by this animalistic attraction. They are connecting mind, body, and soul but are they prepared?

I have found that Jasinda Wilder is a go to author for me. The Big Girls Series was my first Wilder read and will always hold a special spot in my personal library. Fun, sweet, and relatable, Jasinda has created a series that checks another genre off her author list. This woman can write anything. She has offered a different look at societies beauty standards. Big Love Abroad was my favorite of the series. Since Big Love Abroad can be read as a standalone you can dive right in. I love London, I love the Big Love Abroad, and I love Jasinda. This is without a doubt my favorite Big Girls book! This series is what got me into Jasinda and now shes my favorite author! I'm seriously addicted to her writing. I feel so connected to this book, like I am main character Nell. Im a big girl myself so I automatically connect with that, I'm also a literature snob to a point, and am obsessed with the UK and did a semester abroad in college. However, I did not meet my Ian! Swoon baby swoon I have so many visuals of Ian.
WOW Was this book laced with kinky sex! Ian pushed Nell in so many good ways. I seriously fell for him and his magical hands, fingers, and tongue! More please more!

This is one of the first series I came across when I started reading. I fell in love with it. I loved how they meet and how their connection was so strong right from the start. This story was intensely HOT!!! Ian is just YUMMY! When Nina left for school I wanted to shake her and yell at her. What was she thinking? Then in comes Ian to claim what is his. He has such a big heart. He just needed his perfect lady to share it with. I'm happy Ian got his HEA. LOVED IT!!!

I absolutely loved this book! This book popped my Jasinda Wilder cherry and I couldn't be happier! I totally loved the connection Nina and Ian had. The connection and chemistry was unmistakable. I'm also a sucker for a British accent, and well anything British :) but damn Ian Stirling....I'll take him any day! With everything that happened between them, he refused to give up, refused to let anything get in their way. Wonderful book! Recommend to anyone and everyone!

Unfortunate title as I almost avoided it but then I remembered Jascinda can make it right. I mean to say that why would I want to read about a girl constantly saying that she can't believe someone would like her cause she's heavy (she says). J makes this girl Forget. all. about. that!!!!!! Hot writing. I drooled moaned and quit breathing. Dang.

Yeah, I liked it, sure. But I wouldn't read it again, and I'm kind of pissed about the entire Big Girls Do It series as a whole. I'm so happy to be done with it.

I purchased the whole series to start with, of course, and why would I not follow through with it all even if I didn't end up like half of them. That'd be a waste.

With this book in particular, I didn't like that Nina was described as plus size. I grew up in California, I have known a lot of short and curvaceous Latinas in my day and NOT ONCE have they been considered "plus size" I moved to BFE South Dakota, Iowa, and Wisconsin, where short curvy Latinas were a rarity and even then they were never considered fat or plus size.

As someone who is 5'8 and has been a fluctuating size 18-28 since high school till now, have always been cast aside for my body, can hardly find comfortable fitting clothes at target/ walmart/ h&m/ macys. Being in my body in general is a challenge. That's what I think of when I am reading a book blurb about a plus size woman. I'm not thinking about a 5'4 140-150lb grown woman being described as plus size. That is a socially acceptable size for a fully matured adult woman. Especially when she is described as having 36DDD tits and a huge ass, with a small belly. Like when you carry your weight in those areas that are socially deemed sexy and attractive then it really doesn't matter to the world if you have a small pouch. Because the world sees you has conventionally attractive and pretty. Maternal, feminine and fertile, if we're getting deep scientifically speaking. So it was just a slap in the face reading that.

Of course, women's bodies are not cookie cutter cutouts and of course 150lbs in different on a 5'4 frame then a 5'8 frame but lord almighty, the world would ream out a woman for being over 200lbs. So again, this was just disheartening.

Another thing that really threw me off in this book, also the entire keffing series, other men and women being sexually involved with main characters when the reader is supposed to be invested in a certain relationship. Like I had to skip all of Lucas because I couldn't deal with the annoying grind my jaw and teeth were working when that shit happened. And I really liked Nina, I liked her a lot and of course people are flawed and people have multiple partners, but I didn't want to go into reading about multiple sexual partners where they aren't even having a good healthy experience. Jesus Christ I couldn't read practically any of Jamie's(mc in series) sexual encounters with other people because homegirl was a mess in a dress who got herself into a lot of gross and fucked up situations.

I wish more authors would use trigger warnings. And other women/other men/other person should be considered one. Because even though it wasn't actually cheating, the reader feels it. The reader can feel the angst and wrongness in those decisions especially when you read the internal conflict the narrator is giving us. And that wrongness can trigger people. Just like, dubcon gives people the icks, or sex while someone is blacked out ( Happened to Jamie in an earlier book in the Big Girls Do It series and like, that shit seriously fucked me up)

If I had read those as warnings, I would have stayed away from this entirely. I have my own past trauma with things and I know to stay away from those stories before I start to spiral. So I spiraled and I feel unsatisfied with how this series was for me.

I was actually very disappointed with this book. I even went back and re-read the “about this book” details to make sure I hadn’t confused what I was expecting with a different book. The two main characters start out likable but get less so throughput the book. There is a plot twist thrown in that is just completely out of place, pointless and not well done which seemed to be thrown in as pandering to the 50 Shades of Grey fans. At the end of the book the HEA doesn’t even feel worth it and I ended up feeling like I wasted an evening. My recommendation is to skip this one because no matter what you are looking for I doubt this will be it.

This book is the epitome of why Jasinda Wilder is the best in this genre. Awesome standalone edition that wraps up the story line of the guy who had his heart broken by Jamie and Chase Delaney. Ian deserved a happy ending and I am so glad we got to read about it. The girl and her hesitations, as always with this genre, was a bit grating. Hard to buy into this trope where "no one has ever said 'I love you'" to this besotted person, but ok. 4.5 starts for being un-put-downable, but the lost half star is for my continued irritation at this back and forth, hand-wringing, tortured heart shit. Enough already!

Happily Ever After

If you like HEA books this one is for you. There are some head scratching plot twists which left me uncertain how this tale would end. I can honestly say when I finished this book it was with a smile on my face and a bit of sadness in my heart because I didn’t want to leave the characters and story behind.

Hot and dirty

I love Jasinda Wilder books. Her writing style and storytelling just drag you in. This book was no different. I look forward to seeing what’s next. I’d love to see what happens with Lucas. Or even a novella of Nina and Ian prepping for the wedding and the jealous sisters because let’s face it. They have to be jealous. He’s a totally catch!

This book was wonderful!! Very sexy and sweet! I love Nina and Ian together and just their whole dynamic. I also loved that it had a bunch of big words I had to lookup... I’m a nerd like that and loved learning new words and making a list of all her classic books to add to my TBR pile. A great quicky!! (Pun intended)

MICHELLE'S REVIEW

Do women have loins? Cause mine are on fire after reading this book! Holy hot sex batman!

You guys. Here is one thing I know to be true. Jasinda Wilder writes some hot ass sex. And in this case- I actually do mean ass...but I'm getting ahead of myself.

Nina and Ian. Man oh man. Hot sex all up in here. I wasn't kidding about the butt stuff either. Jasinda goes there and it's hot.

People who know me well know that I am an advocate of the butt and all things related to doing it there so I LOVED that Nina and Ian went there. At first I was like- wait- really- oh this is happening. And then I just rode out the wave.

But I promise there is more than just hot sex here. There's a story and a plot and I love it.

This book is all about instant attraction and connection and how frightening this is. Nina is scared out of her wits. Not only is she plus size and dealing with all the insecurities that that brings her, she's also in a new city- NEW COUNTRY- and day 1, she's meeting a man that makes her want to forget everything and get lost in his penis.

Little tip ladies- if a hot British guy wants you- you run TOWARDS him. Not away. TOWARDS.

But Nina didn't get that memo so there's a bit of angst in here BUT it's not overdone and I kind of loved it. And even more- I loved how Ian chose to deal with it. So adult and SO HOT. And honestly- after thinking about it- I get where Nina is coming from. It's so easy to get swept up in a man or just in the more glamorous things in life. It's so tempting to be like- forget school and building a career. I want to stay in bed with a hot British guy. In my 20's- it would be hard to turn that down. In my 30's- it would be impossible. Just thinking about it makes me want to hop on a flight to London. Take me away hot British guy!!!

But anywhizzle- I loved Nina for needing to put herself first even though she 110% could have dealt with everything with a little more adult like choices. Lucky for her, Ian had that part covered.

There's not cheating or a love triangle per say but there is a bit of Nina making some choices that made me want to strangle her and applaud her all at once.

Definitely read this one. Can be read as a standlone but Ian was in the Rockstars series. It's a quick read but you get a full story- epilogue included- and it's a good one.

This book is a hard one for me...I was loving it up until I started to not like the things Nina was doing. I hated the decisions she was making because they made absolutely no sense as to why she was making them.
Ian I loved throughout this whole book...granted he pissed me off a little in the Rock Stars Do It series BUT he had every reason to act the way he did in that series, and I am honestly surprised that after what happened there that he DID go after Nina in this book.

As much as I do love Jasinda's books, this series was what got me reading her but there is WAY to much drama created in the different heroine's mind in this series for me (whether it's Anna, Jamie, or Nina...all three had way to many dramatic insecurity moments in their own minds for me).
That's not to say I didn't like the books because I did very much so...if another one came out I would hands down read it because Jasinda is an amazing author and has a way of pulling you into a story even if you have an issue with one of the characters.
Even with my not liking decisions made by the heroine that didn't effect my rating of this book because the story was solid and extremely well versed which is something that I know I will always get when reading a book by Jasinda, and I look forward to it.

Nina is curvy and insecure. On the way to England to do her MA she meets Ian on the plane. Ian is sexually open and accepting. She had a hot couple of days with Ian in London, and then panics about the intensity of the relationship and his ability to accept her as she is. She leaves and heads to Oxford. He comes after her, but not after she makes a significant misstep.

The premise had promise, but the execution was disappointing. The books felt like it moved from sex scene to sex scene with little plot or character development. It is too bad because the character Ian, while underdeveloped, is probably a fantasy of many women and likely has wide appeal.

Warning there is some LIGHT BDSM.

Nina & Ian

This is the newest in this series of books by an amazing author.
Nina is a young woman traveling to England for her Master's degree. There is just one problem, she has to get on a plane to do it. She hates flying.
Ian is traveling back to England for his job. He is the lucky one that gets to sit with her. When they land, he helps her get her luggage before sharing a cab.
These two have as some hot chemistry, there is just one little problem. Nina is terrified of turning into her sisters, giving up her dreams and letting a man take over her life.
The question becomes will Nina be able to open herself to Ian? Will she admit how she feels? Will Ian be able to love and support her and her dreams? Will Nina admit to how she feels and what she wants?
