My Enemy murdered My wife and My Father, So I Took His Daughter...
I stole the Bratva princess.
And, locked her away on my island.
An eye for an eye. A tooth for a tooth.
Blood for blood.
Stealing Isabella is the only way to find her father.
I just wasn’t prepared for the temptation of her.
Or, the effect she’d have on my cold dead heart.
One taste I shouldn’t have had and I wanted more.
She’s my captive My enemy’s daughter.
Being with her is unthinkable.
Yet, I want to claim her, take her, own her.
Make her mine.
The deal was a life for a life.
I’m just not sure I want to give her back when the time comes.
“Dark Captor” is the second book in the Dark Syndicate series. It is a stand-alone Dark Mafia Enemies to Lovers Dark Captive Romance, complete with HEA and no cliffhangers.
Please note: this book is a dark mafia romance that contains mature content, graphic violence and may contain triggers. If such materials offend you, please do not read.
You cannot partially love someone. Either you love them with your whole heart or you don’t love them at all. You cannot choose what emotions a person stirs in you. You cannot chose to hate, when love overwhelms you. You can only love them…love them when they are under the weather, love them when they’re happy or when they’re sad…or angry….Love them even when they are the offspring of the devil himself. That’s the story of Tristan, the dark hero of the new standalone romance of the ‘Dark Syndicate’ series by Faith Summers. Tristan will draw you into his story from the very beginning. His grief and pain are too devastating to be ignored. The beginning and the end of his happiness piercing through your heart as well. His whole world, torn to pieces lies at his feet. The loss is agonizing, everything shatters and dies inside him, but one thing….his desire for blood, and his desire for revenge…the culprit must pay, no matter what. The beloved daughter or just an ordinary pawn in her father’s wicked games. Marked by the cruelty, crippled by the pain and losses that ripped parts of her and in constant search for some peace, Isabella seeks a bit of mercy in the eyes of the stranger in the park. The stranger who attracts her in an irresistible way, offering a glimpse of joy. Wishing for some happiness before the flames of hell devour her, she extends her hands and indulges into his warmth. Only to realize she has been deceived one more time, used one more time…the only difference is the monster. The author has created a really exciting plot with so many twists and turns as too keep readers intrigued and invested in the story from beginning to end. Maybe a faster pace would have been more effective, as the book went really slow in some parts and a bit too discursive for my personal liking. The alternating 1st person narrative is almost seamless and allows readers full insight into the main character’s world, all their thoughts, fears, struggles perfectly blended. The main characters are greatly developed and so complex, multilayered, with real flaws and characteristics. The chemistry between them is absolutely scorching. The erotic play of their bodies is not hidden under any veil, but is explicitly captured with every sigh and moan. I had the constant feeling like something was missing, some background story or subplot, probably because I haven’t read the previous book in the series, but that didn’t decrease the pleasure of reading this one. Overall, if you’re looking for a story where two broken pieces form the most perfect whole, where the rules are dictated by the strongest one, and where the guilty pleasure will make you blush, then make sure you check this one.
This one picks up right where book one ends. You don't need to read the first one to enjoy this one, but it might help.
This one was not as good as the first one. It was slow in parts and lacked a lot of the heat of the first one. Plus the third brother is really ticking me off and so is Candace (I still don't like her). And there's still more bad guys, plus "The King" to find. Who sent that letter?
“Dark Captor” is another standalone romance of the “Dark Syndicate” series by the author Faith Summers. Told in dual perspectives , get ready to finally meet Tristan!
Those who have read the first book of this series , will probably be jumping on this book like crazy people! Tristan had intrigued me right from the moment I read about him for the first time in the first book. His pain was too much for me. The way his first wife had been killed , I was so sure that he would never find another to love , but this story surprised me so much. Tristan finally found his match and it was none other than the daughter of the man who was responsible for killing his wife.
All Isabella wants is to escape the mafia life her father has trapped her in. She almost manages to do so , until he drops another bomb on her. With nowhere to go now , she is back to square one. That is until she meets the stranger in the park. The handsome man with compelling eyes , even though looks dangerous but connects with her for the first time. She feels something for him which is as ridiculous as true. That is until she learns how wrong he is for her. In her attraction to the man , and her desire to feel something normal for once in her life , she ends up getting herself kidnapped.
Tristan feels bad for tricking the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. But this is the only way he has to find her father. She might be the key to all the answers he wants and he is not letting her go until he gets what he wants. That is until things change between them. He soon realises that she might be the woman who makes him feel something other than the need for revenge and that complicates things a lot.
This book was amazingly written and I was hooked right from the start. This one had more twists and turns than the first book and that hint about Dominic’s story had me so intrigued! I want his story so bad! A definite recommendation to all the mafia romance lovers out there! If you are into Dark mafia romance with a bit of captor-captive romance in the mix, then don’t hesitate to one click this one!
The D’Agostino brothers will leave no stone unturned until they can find those responsible for the death of their loved ones. When Tristan’s wife is killed his thirst for vengeance is what keeps him going until he brings down all that are involved, and he will not rest until they have all been hunted down. When Tristan finds his enemies weakness, he does everything in his power to act on it.
Isabella never asked to be in this life, one from hell and one that she knows there is no escaping from. She does what she is told until a bomb of a news is dropped on her and her hope is for death rather than life. This is where Tristan comes in her life, yet she does not realize that he has the same plans her father had for her yet for some reason she feels safer with him.
Tristan’s feeling for her were never supposed to get this blurry yet when the heart is involved there is nothing that can be done about it. Would Tristan still go with his plan and use Isabella as a pawn or would he allow her to live? So many emotions, questions and I honestly didn’t know how it would end for them both. This story was suspenseful with so much emotion. I cannot wait for the Dominic’s story! Kara~ 5 Stars
Captor & Captive
Dark Captor is book 2 in the series and is Tristan and Isabella's story. ***** Rating: 3 stars Steam: 4 flames Genre: Mafia/Dark/Enemies to Lovers Standalone: Yes-ish ***** Dark Captor picks up a few months after the chaos from book 1. Tristan's story in book one was heartbreaking, he is a man bent on revenge for the death of his wife and father.
Isabella is the daughter of the man who killed Tristan's wife. Once the D'Agostino boys discover her, Tristan hatches a plan. Find the girl, kidnap the girl, and then force the girl to tell them where her father is. What they don't know is that won't work, Isabella has been through horrific events at the hands of her father, and she isn't going to be much help.
Tristan, was a strong character but in my opinion, I think he fell for Isabella too easily. Alyssa was the love his life his entire life, I guess I just felt like it should have been harder for him to be with Isabella. I wanted him to grieve more before falling for and into bed with Isabella. I wish the reason he was fighting his attraction to Isabella had been more because of Alyssa and less because “she’s my enemies daughter”. His whole life since Alyssa’s death has been about avenging his wife, but IMO he didn’t think of her when deciding to be with Isabella. That made me like him less.
Isabella has been through a difficult time, and I understood why she fell for Tristan so easily. She had been starved for love and attention her whole life, and the man that was supposed to cherish her instead was evil incarnate. I related to her character and understood her actions.
Dominic through, is the one who wound up stealing the show in my opinion. He is struggling, and is facing his own demons and the fall-out will be life changing.
The story was suspenseful but I was able to easily figure out who the traitor was. Although I figured out the traitor, I still wanted the whole story. I do want to see what comes of Dominic. A three star read for me.
This is the second book in the series but it can be read as a stand-alone. Isabella is kidnapped by Tristan in order to get revenge on the death of his wife and father. What will happen when he begins to fall for his captive. Fast-paced read with loads of drama, suspense and steam. The characters have lots of depth and the chemistry is intense. I was hooked from beginning to end. I loved it!
Dark Captor was something else, and it put me through the ringer with emotions that's for sure. And I'm not just talking about the angst that squeezed my heart, but the rage I felt as everyone was totally using Isabella at first because she didn't choose to be born of the devil. I'm not saying that Tristain didn't have the right to want revenge, because he did, but I'm telling y'all, when a dude uses an innocent female to get that revenge, I have colorful metaphors coming in hot. However, light always chases away the darkness, so Isabella, who looked like an angel, may or may not have been just what the doctor ordered for Tristain. She's gone through even more than Tristan (which is saying a lot), but no one believed it, and y'all really think her father (the devil) would stop looking for her?! That made for f-bomb worthy twists that kept me on the edge of my seat cover to cover, because that other shoe always drops when pure evil is involved. I can't WAIT for Dominic's book next because he was going through some stuff, so I'll just end with HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDING!
My very first book by the author and certainly not gonna be the last. The story unfolded with an Epilogue that was like 'Oh Sh*t' for me. Ba-BAM. Isabella was an abused bratva princess who was forever oppressed by the her mafia father's iron fist. She was beautiful. She was sans wings. And she just escaped from one cage to another. Her life was never her own. She was just a property.
Tristan was unhinged, obsessed with vengeance after his wife and father was brutally murdered. The only way to extract his retribution was through the daughter of his enemy. But little did he know, he was in over his head. Through the photographs, Isabella was beautiful and he felt a certain attraction. Up close? She was lethal. She was beyond ravishing.
They were like Romeo and Juliet, not supposed to be together. This was a lovely read. Hero was not a jerk, like his older brother. And I am so curious to read about Candace and Dominic.
Tristan takes Isabella in order to find out from her, where her father is. He wants to kill him for killing his wife and father. But Tristan soon realises that Isabella means more for him and he knows that he can’t torture her to get information from her. They both had traumatic past and lost people they love from the hands of the same man.
What I liked it in the book was that the plot not only focused on showing us their growing love, but also a need to get revenge, brotherhood. There was so much action and revelations that were really surprising.
Tristan has lost so much. I left so so bad for him. He just wanted revenge for the women he loved. But isabella is just a pion for her dad. And the kidnapping did her more good then bad. She got away from her fianceé for a while. When you start this story its hard to stop, you just want to keep reading. Tristan and Isabella have such a hot conection. It get real hot real soon. It was a amazing story i can't wait to read the last one!
DARK CAPTOR is the second instalment in Faith Summers’ contemporary, adult DARK SYNDICATE erotic, dark, mafia romance series focusing on the D’Agostino brothers. This is thirty year old Tristan D’Agostino, and twenty-two year old, assistant therapist Isabella Viggo’s story line. DARK CAPTOR can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalments is revealed where necessary.
NOTE: Due to the graphic nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Tristan and Isabella) DARK CAPTOR follows in the aftermath of the kidnapping of twenty-two year old Isabella Viggo, the daughter of the Mortimer Viggo, an assassin with the Circle of Shadows. Six years earlier, on his wedding day Tristan’s wife Alyssa was kidnapped and killed by a member of the Circle of Shadows, and our hero has been plotting his revenge every since. Fast forward to present day wherein, Tristan and his brothers will discover that Mortimer Viggo has a daughter, the perfect fodder for war and vengeance. Enter twenty-two year old Isabella Viggo, the woman with whom Tristan will fall in love. What ensues is the kidnapping of Isabella, and building relationship between Tristan and Isabella, and the potential fall-out as Tristan’s revenge comes to fruition, and Isabella becomes collateral damage in a war between families.
DARK CAPTOR follows several paths including the abduction of Isabella Viggo; Tristan’s need for vengeance; Dominic D’Agostino’s fall from grace; and the rise and fall of both the Circle of Shadows, and the Syndicate of the Brotherhood, a Syndicate of which Massimo D’Agostino is hoping to revive.
The relationship between Tristan and Isabella is an enemies to lovers: a Stockholm –esque syndrome romance as is most of the author’s stories in this series of dark Mafia romances. Tristan is unable to keep away from our story line heroine, and as such finds himself falling for a woman who is as broken and lost as our story line hero. As their relationship continues to build, Tristan knows it is only a matter of time before he will have to let go of the woman with whom he is falling in love. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense, and not without some issues of questionable consent.
The colorful secondary and supporting characters include Tristan’s brothers Massimo and Dominic, as well as their sister of the heart Candace; Isabella’s father Mortimer, his right hand man Dimitri, and Isabella’s guard Sacha.
DARK CAPTOR is a dramatic and intense story line . The premise is edgy and dark; the romance is passionate and provocative; the characters are tragic and energetic.
This second book in this series for me was pretty disappointing, the story line was similar to the first book with all the action taking place in the last two chapters. The chemistry between the characters was interesting and sweet but it felt as though Tristan and his brother Dominic were a pair of immature, bumbling, comedic members of this Mafia family with Tristan who has no back bone constantly letting us know just how tough and bad he is and what he is capable of in a weird cheesy way.
Dark Captor is the second book in the Dark Syndicate series and focuses on the third brother Tristan. Tristan has had a rough life up until the time we meet him: his family once lost everything and was homeless, his wife was beheaded, and his dad and oldest brother recently died. In order to get back at a rival mafia member who murdered his wife, Tristan decided to kidnap the man's daughter to hold her for ransom. While Tristan and Isabella had a connection in the beginning, there is a push and pull between the two as they determine if they can trust each other enough to act on their attraction.
Isabella will evoke empathy in you; she's also had a difficult life too. Living under the controlling thumb of her father, Isabella has been mentally and physically abused but she still has hope of being a therapist one day. She has a good heart and wants to help people, especially since she's been alone the majority of her life. Tristan has suffered for a long time, and he wants redemption and love even though he feels he does not deserve it. The story itself was fine, but there were some inconsistencies for me (like if Isabella was whipped by her father, would she and Tristan not have discussed the scars on her body; Isabella claiming that she feels degraded from being spanked by Tristan but not when she was whipped). I think the writing could have been a bit more sophisticated; sometimes it seems a little stiff and unlike real conversations. Overall, a completed story that answers all your questions and has enough lead in for the next book in the series, but the writing style didn't work for me.
Tristan deserved his HEA after everything that he’s been thru in the past. But who would have thought it would have been so challenging?! Isabella was the innocent victim in this war because she was the daughter of Tristan’s enemy. But what he didn’t know was that she despised her dad just as much as everyone else. There’s a lot that happens including with Dominic and Candace but it’s such an intense story that makes you turning the pages. These brothers have each other’s backs regardless but also think of their families. And guess what?! This drama isn’t over!!! There’s still unanswered questions LOTS and I can’t wait to see how this will finally end.
I didn't feel the love between Tristan and Isabella though. I think they cared for each other deeply but it felt like they were together out of necessity. There was definitely a bond over trauma. Neither of them ever addressed their former lovers to each other which I found weird.
I think the stuff with Dominic and how he coped with everything was realistic.
There are still a lot of unanswered questions which keeps the mystery intriguing.

The story of Tristan and Isabella was another fantastic part of the dark syndicate series. However, I had less trouble putting it down with this part than with the first part of the series. It had less building tension than the first part. But none the less, the storyline was very nicely described and it was a nice transition from the first part.
A dark and twisted mafia romance! The masks are coming off and who is going to be the true monster?! The dark captor or the sinister father? Isabella Viggo has gone through the past 12 years living a caged life. Although she has some semblance of freedom, her life is not her own to do with as she pleases. After witnessing horrible acts in her life, Isabella is just existing with nothing left to live for; until a stranger in the park gives her some spark of hope. Tristan D’Agostino, the underboss in the D’Agostino family Italian mafia has been living the last 6 years as a shell of his former self. After losing the love of his life at the hand of a brutal man and at the command of an evil one, he’s been set on revenge ever since. Tristan sets out to find a man who has never been seen before by capturing the one thing he thought was most important, his daughter Isabella. Unbeknownst to Tristan and Isabella, their lives are intertwined by tragedy and a fierce love and they have to look past the names and the titles to see the real Tristan and Isabella. Even after they know what they want, will they go after it?
Dark Captor is book two of the Dark Syndicate series and Faith Summers DID NOT DISAPPOINT! I enjoyed this book just as much as the second. It had some similarities to Massimo’s story in the first book but it was still very different and Tristan’s gut wrenching past makes this enemies-to-lovers tale heartbreaking and bitter sweet. I love these mafia stories! I love the family bond, the loyalty, the brutality, the friendship and the brotherly love. I’m really excited for what comes next in the series and I’d love to see where these characters will be in the next book! I’d highly recommend this mafia romance!
