I expected the author to be a grumpy old leftie, and he was, but I didn't expect the book to be so badly written. He complains several times about the over-valued activities of literary editors - but I suspect he's done well from their services.
He's also very coy - 'another entered my life' and that's all you get to know. Boring!
There's also name-dropping and anecdotes that make no sense written down. There's not enough information given to follow the stories, and he's not much more articulate about writing.
Dull.
