WARNING MEGA SPOILERS BUT IT'S AN HONEST REVIEW!

I couldn't do it. I couldn't like the book. The first book of this series was good and I really enjoyed it but this one....I skipped alot of it.

Never have I ever read a book where I didn't want the best friend(girl) and the other best friend(boy) to be together till Breathe. I loved Justin and I loved his relationship with Annie, but when it came to Ryan, I felt like she was meant to be with him more so than with Justin. Especially after all they went through in high school. It didn't sit well with me that they just gave up and didn't fight for their relationship even though Katie was pregnant with Ryan's kid. They could have worked it out. I am not shifting blame to just one party here, both Ryan and Annie were to blame. Also the last line was weird to me, it made if seem like Ryan hadn't let go of Annie even though he was happily married to Katie.
After reading Breathe, I laid in bed and just stared at the wall with a sour look on my face. That is no lie! It was so up and down and yes and no and then just blah. I didn't like it all. The rollercoaster ride you go on when reading this book would have been more worth it if the ending was better. Meaning Ryan and Annie should have stayed together and Justine should have moved on.

I wrote a review then slept on it and I was still pissed off in the morning! I felt such an emotional connection to Annie and Ryan! Why in the world would you change the whole story? Why would you let the mom win! This would have been much better if Ryan and Annie would have overcome there challenges!! I would still recommend this book, though I skimmed through many of the pages about justin only because I was on team Ryan. It was still written wonderfully with very few grammatical errors. I REQUEST AN ALTERNATE ENDING!

Hi I hope you're reading this. I wasn't able to put down this book until 5 in the morning- I know, addictions.

So three days after I evaluated myself and crossed out (1)sleep deprivation (2) Book hang over (3) emotional shock- exaggerated reaction- to ending of book. I find myself still reeling from the ending of Ryan and Annie's love story. Even though the book ended in a good way, it was not a happy ending for me- and apparently for some readers too. Aren't we all suckers for happy endings?

I would like to point out that, this is your book and no way should any one dictate how you should write it. That this book ended the way it ended, period.

I am writing to ask, if possibly, maybe there could be a different ending to their story? Something like them ending up together- because that would be totally great and will honestly make my year. Seriously, come December, I'm sure I'll still be dreaming of Annie and Ryan and will probably wake up frustrated. I (We?) need closure.

Interesting conclusion. After reading this book, I was left feeling unsatisfied. Not something I like when reading books.

I felt the real story should have been about Ryan and Annie and their trials and tribulations.

Justin and Annie had a childhood connection but I did not feel the forever love connection that you made the reader believe in with Ryan and Annie. I think Annie's relationship with Justin should have dissolved at some point before the end. There were instances where it could have happened.

This book would have been better if Annie and Ryan had ended up together in the end proving love is never an easy road and true love never dies.

If this is what the author was trying to portray with Justin and Annie then I think more work should have gone into making us believe that forever love as she did with Ryan and Annie. It felt too contrived.

I usually love love triangles.. I hate when the girl is weak and like any other soap opera the girl never gives another guy a chance, no she refuses she loves being stepped on over and over again.. which is not the case here. She did give someone else a chance and normally I love it but I got stuck in between. I love Justin and I had this hate/love relationship with Ryan but is till hurt me when they couldn't be together in the end. I was angry with the ending but also I was happy that it was a different ending from what we expected.

I had so many mix emotions specially because of whom she picked at the end. I am the type of girl who gets mad when the endings are always the same and when I get a different ending I don't like it.. example: When I saw the movie Forces of Nature..I was so mad with the ending, I should of been happy because it was a different ending from what we get in the movies. But I was pissed.

Would I recommend this book to others, Hmmm I would say yes.. Just to wake up other people emotions we all need it here and there. Maybe we all need a wake up call to the lesson of we don't always get what we want.

After reading this book, I don't know if I am extremely disappointed or extremely pleased. It was not your typical love story ending, which in a way made it seem a little more realistic to me. But I found myself torn the whole book on who I wanted Annie to choose. One minute I was hoping Ryan and Annie could prove love overcomes everything and the next I felt like justin was the more deserving choice. I think in the end she made the right decision. BUT I didn't like the ending. The author made it seem like everyone was so happy, but if the one character was happy and so in love why did they name their child after the other.

aaah, i'm not sure how i feel about this book. If you haven't read the book, do not read on (spoiler alert).........i actually put it down at one point but i had to finish. It was hard to hate the ending because Justin is so sweet and in love with Annie but i think that Annie should have ended up with Ryan. It was obvious their love never died, even the ending. And really? Trying to make it seem like Katie was also a victim in Valeries scheme...she had an equal part in it so she should have never had her happy ending. I almost want her to rewrite with an alternate version. Well written and good story but wrong ending : (
I would have given 5 stars if Annie and Ryan stayed together!

I reread this again and ugh, my heart is broken again. I liked Ryan and Annie together and I also like Justin and Annie together, but I thought once Ryan got someone pregnant, she was dumb to stick around. I still don't like the Katie girl and his mother is evil! This book is like riding a roller coaster, very emotional.
Ugh I'm still reeling from the ending.... It's just how life is, you can't always get what you want. 😭

I know a lot of people are upset with the ending... I, however, am not. Its an eye opening tale, about how what we want isnt always what we need. Happy endings are relative.....

First let me say that I shake my head when readers give a book 1 or 2 stars because they didn't like the way it ended. This is why to me, it's important to read reviews on books before writing them off for a low number of stars. Although the outcome of 'Breathe' is questionable as a 'happily ever after', or not, life happens and this book is a perfect example of how life can throw you a curve ball (pun intended since 2 of the main characters are baseball players) and that life is not a fairy tale.

In 'Breathe', the second book in the 'Sway' series, the main character, Annie, is wronged in so many ways. I don't want to spoil the ending but she goes through a lot of turmoil to get to the other side. She's pretty immature in the first book, though compassionate, and matures a lot in this book. She learns that things don't always turn out the way you plan and that how you handle these roadblocks, determines what kind of person you'll be. In fact, the four main characters in 'Breathe' all go through a lot of growing up before they get where they need to be.

Though I really loved Ryan, he was a very self-centered character a lot of the time. He was raised with a lot of privilege and was used to getting his way. When he should have trusted Annie, he immediately jumped to conclusions and ended up trusting his eyes, instead of his heart. Justin tried so hard to be selfless but, in a way, he was very self-centered, as well. Using other girls to try to forget his love for Annie instead of coming clean to her, hurt his case more than helped it. His mixed signals just further confused Annie, and all of the girls he tried to get over her with, and didn't further his cause much. As for Katie, I really felt sorry for her. It seemed she was the biggest loser in this lovers' square. (It's not really a triangle since there are four of them.) All alone and always trying to get someone to notice and love her, Katie was stuck between a rock and a hard place. Sure, she could've struck out on her own with her baby but, as a girl of means, suddenly knocked up and cut off, she had no idea what to do. Pretty scary! I felt that she truly wanted Ryan to be happy, and felt bad about her part in keeping him and Annie apart, but she also couldn't help hoping that things worked out her way, instead.

Complex characters, terrific writing and editing (It's so refreshing to read a book without a hundred typos, for a change), twisty plot, realistic, though somewhat disappointing ending... (maybe?), and an awesome epilogue to wraps it all up, makes for a terrific read that I lost a lot of sleep finishing.

It was a poignant and very frustrating read for me (emotional reader here) but I had to put up because I was practically dying to know who Annie is going to end up with and how all the lies will be straightened out in the end. Well, I was glad and satisfied that despite the roller coaster ride, Annie ended up with the deserving guy. (Thank Goodness!) I so despise the other guy for having such a weak character although I also felt bad for him in a way.
I was thinking that the writer must have been trying to make a statement in the end but I just felt that the last part could have been much better if we also get to meet Justin five years after rather than being an absent character.
As for those readers who are thinking of sparing some of their time to read this book, brace yourselves and be ready to be washed with a variety of not-so-positive emotions as you flip the pages. Some characters will really piss you off.
The writing is good, and the story is promising, it's just that some events in it drove me nuts and some characters annoyed the hell out of me.

*updated review*
OK so I need to revise my first rating. I can't stop thinking about this story. It broke my heart. And as soon as I think about it I feel gutted. So....Even if my opinion about the unfolding of the story and how the relationships are concluded still stands I must admit it was worth 4 stars.

I really didn't want to rate this because I'm kind of stuck in my own opinion of the storyline and I don't feel like my rating is really fair. To be honest I don't like these kinds of developments. But on the other hand there was really nothing wrong with the story itself. And I hate moles. So much. I hate them!!! I was not happy with the outcome, much because of WHY it unfolded as it did. I was just left with a bitter feeling. That the epilogue just added to. Others might feel differently.

Sooo disappointed. Loved the first, but this is heartbreaking. Why have Annie & Ryan go through all of that & the mother still gets what she wanted & Ryan ends up with the manipulator. It could have gone soo many diff ways for them to be together. Like nobody thought to use Lindsey & her BF as the middle people for communication? Ryan & Justin never interacted once baseball started? John was really that clueless of a man? I def felt that Annie & Justin were more like Bro & sister. I mean come on, the manipulator got the dream wedding, the guy, the money. Ryan got his baseball contract he could have easily gave up his trust. Plus it isn't 1950 how about seeing Ryan get a divorce & gain partial custody & see him grow into a man and prove to be a great dad after all in his own. Maybe years later he could have worked his way back to Annie & deserve her.

I liked the first if this books and I am very happy who everyone ended up with. I never really thought that Annie and Ryan's relationship was healthy, and I always thought she would end up with Justin. I have to admit that this book was a little tedious because it took forever to reach a conclusion and I was kind of annoyed by both Annie and Ryan and their games. I HATED Valerie, thought she was insufferable, but I have to admit she was a pretty good enemy with all her cunning and evilness. I had to struggle slightly to finish this book, but I think that the main plot was really good. I do say that only people with patience should read it.

This was a well written, soap opera style romance that I couldn’t put down because I was to invested after book 1. I wanted to see what would happen with these characters and the ending was perfect for the main character.

I will give the author this much though, when Annie’s heart is broken you really can feel for her. The author brought the pain and that pain, the loss of your first love is a pain that most women can relate to which made you root for Annie all the more while fueling the need to keep reading.

Will I read again?

I’m honestly not sure because it was very long and drawn out to the point that if felt almost unrealistic but a good love story.

I'd say more than half of this book is pretty depressing. I'm glad how it ended. It was bittersweet, but more realistic. Spoiler alert below...I just couldn't keep it to myself...

ETA: I personally think that Ryan was selfish person and he did so many things to purposely hurt Annie. He never deserved her. Being apart from her just for some land and his grandfather's house? He lost focus on what was real. I know it's easy to hate Valerie, but it was really his decisions that killed the love. Annie was seriously like a saint, forgiving him and waiting for him like that.

I really enjoyed sway.....breathe was good but disappointing.
I new ryan moving in with katie would be bad with that bitch mom behind the wheel. but I did expect ryan and annie not to stay together. that had such a beautiful love story. I was happy justin and annie had their relationship finally but in the end annie should've been married to ryan.
id read the series again and be mad all over again but in the end the were both great reads.

SPOILER!

Where as Sway reminded me a lot of another book I read, this one did not and I'm so glad for that. Although I'm sad over the end like every book and the outcome wasn't what I expected I was happy with who she chose. Also that five years later part, I loved that! So nice that the author wrote that for the epilogue.

So I absolutely loved this book!! First, let me say if you didn't love the first book an insane amount, thus one was so much better!! I knew who I wanted to end up together, but I honestly had no idea who it would be until the end. I found myself shouting, laughing, and smiling at my kindle. Definitely a must read!!

Ok, i'm torn on this one, because while i'm happy she ended up with the one man who's been there for her through everything, the fact that Ryan ended up with that b*tch just incensed me! I can't reconcile that part of the book, or i'd have rated it higher.

Ahhh I cried at the end because it was so perfect. I'm a sucker for romances and this one really blew me away. It was sad and lovely. I don't even know how to explain it. It was a perfect follow up to the last book. :D Great read if you want something inspiring.

Not the ending I was personally hoping for. I felt disappointed, even if it wasn't my story to tell. All throughout book 1 I figured it was coming, but didn't want it to. Overall a good book, just not the ending I hoped for.
