Outstanding Olivia!! ←--- see the alliteration Ms. Olivia Luck <3 I absolutely adored this book and I think Olivia did a fabulous job on her debut book. In Pursuit was a captivating and consuming dramatic romantic tale of Edith Neff and Harris Grant in their pursuit of second chances at life and love. I devoured this book in one sitting and wanted to know more exquisite Edith and handsome Harris. Ms. Luck will consume you on a tale of two individuals trying to balance a relationship when family obligations and past collides.

Edith Neff is an interior designer who moves to Chicago, leaving behind her old life in D.C. With a fresh new start, she moves in with Claire Grant, a high school friend of her best friend Sarah. Claire makes her presence known when she meets Eddie and tries to befriend her. Claire’s personality borders on hot and cold and possessive. What Eddie didn’t expect was that one of the perks of living in a posh apartment with Claire, was Claire’s sexy older brooding brother, Harris.

Harris Grant is the overprotective brother who tries to help Claire get perspective on her life. Harris holds a deep sadness and guilt that carries with him and so he builds a wall around his heart. His guilt resonates so deep that he puts his obligation and responsibility to his sister first.
 photo InPursuit_2_zps30739561.jpg

When Edith and Harris finally admits their growing attraction to each other, walls are slowly being torn down. Edith found her happiness in Harris. He makes her feel alive, loved, and cherished which she didn't have growing up. As for Harris, Edith humbles him. Years of sadness and loneliness begins to evaporate when he is with Eddie. He begins to feel. Little by little, Eddie tries to break down the walls but hits a roadblock when Claire tries to interfere in their relationship. So will Harris give up in his pursuit of Edith? Or is Edith better off pursuing and finding her happiness elsewhere?

In Pursuit was a consuming dramatic tale that will have you yelling at your kindle. Literally, as I approached the last page I found myself shaking my head and saying WHY HARRIS, WHY? Ms. Luck will captivate you with the dramatic unfolding of the lives of Harris, Edith, and Claire. I look forward to reading Of Happiness and see what secrets will be unraveled and if Edith and Harris will get their pursuit of happiness.

4.5 stars!!

Omigah, I LOVED this!!

description

In Pursuit, was a lovely and captivating read that I literally read through two sittings. Why two sittings, you may ask? Well, my first go kept getting interrupted by my young niece and nephew so when I got the chance to isolate myself for my second go, I did!!! Hehe.

I was so enthralled with the story of Eddie, short for Edith, and Harris' story that I could not put down my android!!

Eddie was so relatable in her struggle to start of new life for herself. She grows up with a mentally and emotionally distant father and no mother. As she finishes college, her bestie, Sarah, hooks her up with an apartment with rich empire mogul, Claire Grant.

She then meets Harris, Claire's older brother, and the sparks immediately fly.

description

Now throw in some new faces, a whole lot of drama, a sprinkle of sexiness, and external forces trying to tear these two lovers apart and you got yourselves a story!!

description

So, my verdict: Gosh, a definite MUST READ that I'd recommend to all you readers!!

It's like I said in the beginning of my review, I really did love this book!! Not because the author contacted me personally to read it but because I genuinely did.

In Pursuit flowed very nicely, was easy to read, and had enough suspense to keep me wondering what would happen next.

Eddie was so likable and easy to grasp a hold on her reality whereas Harris was so elegant and mysterious that made me just like the pairing of the two!

I now can't wait for the sequel, Of Happiness , which also happens to be the conclusion of the story!! The ending of In Pursuit made my heart drop!!! I need to know what happens next for "Hardith", Olivia!!

Well I was not expecting that little ending. I must have missed the author’s note when she mentioned that IN PURSUIT is the first book in the two book series. Well I am glad to hear that because now I want to know what happens.
The story was told very well. The relationship between the main characters progressed slowly which I loved since I don’t really care for the insta-love romances. I think the author did a nice job showing how these friends/couples interacted with each other. Their behaviors were either it was ignored or just the norm. Not sure, but it made the story more interesting and I hope I find out in book 2. This book is based in my old neighborhood (before I had kids) in Chicago. Reading this made me miss my old area code.

The pace of the story was just right and the writing was good. I loved that things were not perfect and the couple had to work through some issues. However, at first I think that one of the characters forgave the other character too easily and as a result, I lost some of my connection to the story and had to step away from it. I was frustrated and was losing my connection to the characters. I wish I could say more but that part really irritated me since I loved the character but I expected more from them. I wanted more groveling. Yes, I love the groveling and the begging when one of the characters does something wrong. Now saying that and just when I was going to write this book off and say well wasn't that sweet, the last 3% in the book happened and the story got more interesting. I thought that Eddie (Edith) was a bit of a doormat. However, my rating went up from a 3.5, to a 4 stars when something happens that changed my mind…

There were many things that I didn't like and gave me frown lines. Edith moved into a lush apartment with Claire. From the beginning you realize Claire is a deceptive bitch. She is manipulative, fake and cold. Claire has a brother Harris who Edith likes on site. She acted like a teenage girl instead of a 26 year old woman. She was like a puppet to Claire, getting pulled in the direction she wanted. The side characters were a bunch of fake pretentious idiots. The insta lust was not delivered well, I didn't buy it between Claire and Harris one bit. The way they spoke to each other had my eyebrows frowning and me in disbelief. I didn't connect with ANY of the characters or story.
And the chick had "purple" eyes?? No.

My rating: 4.5 of 5 ⭐️

Interior designer, Eddie Neff is excited to start a new chapter in her life when she arrives in Chicago, ready to meet her new roommate and find new clients. Her new digs in Claire's apartment are above and beyond expectations, as is Claire herself, vivacious and rather intimidating. After life with her solemn and disengaged father, Claire's lack of boundaries would take some getting used to.

It isn't long before Eddie comes face to face with Claire's older brother Harris and although the circumstances were not the best, he made quite the impression on her. Moody and irritated with his sister's antics most of the time, Harris may look like every woman's dream, but he sure didn't behave like it. It doesn't stop Eddie's body from responding to his proximity every time he comes around.

But Harris isn't immune to Eddie's looks or her alluring innocence and although his inflated sense of responsibility for his sister should keep him at a distance, he can't stay away from her. Finally giving in he carefully explores the sadness he has sensed around her and finds her opening up to him, both emotionally and physically. But when Eddie probes a little too close to his own demons, he can't help but shut her down.

And before they have a chance to find some solid footing, both become even more unsettled when family decides to meddle.....

****

I was warned it was a cliffhanger!!!! And now you are too!

There is going to be a second book in conclusion, aptly named: OF HAPPINESS, and I for one, will be frothing at the mouth until I can get my grubby hands on it...... BECAUSE there are some characters in this book who need their butts kicked!!!

Oh yeah..... nasty meddling so and so's..... you'll see!

I'm very impressed with a few things in particular about this book...... although it is not a suspense novel, there is a sense of 'foreboding' that Olivia Luck has been able to build into the relationship between Eddie and her roommate that was tangible from the start. Funny thing is, in the beginning, I thought I was imagining something, but as it turns out my sense was correct........something was off. Reading back, there was nothing specific that was said, or done.......just an atmosphere that Olivia was able to set up, that created a tension that was actually palpable.

And there were more moments like that in the book, where without using elaborate explanations or description, the author could set a tone or convey an emotion quite clearly. How? I'm not quite sure, I just know it surprised and impressed me.

I like Eddie. She may appear innocent, but she is not stupid. I like how she responds when she finds herself in an awkward situation. She makes rational decisions.....uses common sense, and above all, thinks of her own emotional well being first. She needs to, if no one else will. Yay for Eddie!

Harris is a good man, with massive baggage and some effed up family dynamics. I know we want him to step up and be the knight in shining armour, but reality dictates that sometimes people take a while before they can wriggle themselves out of a set pattern into an appropriate response.

Interesting storyline with family dynamics (or should I say dysfunction) being the dark horse in this tale. A smooth reading experience, an interesting and diverse cast of characters and a bit of piquante heat for the willing taste buds!!

But I still prefer a complete story!!!! ;)

✨An insightful, provocative and slightly disturbing division of alliances ✨

In Pursuit by Olivia Luck was one of those classy and easy reads that you can’t help but become instantly addicted too. I had a hard time pulling myself away from this book. I found myself missing it when I wasn’t reading it and that much more happy when I was able to jump back into it. There certainly was not a dull moment during this story. I’m still waiting to come down from this read. My next great read has some stiff competition.

We meet Eddie as she has just moved to Chicago. Eddie is looking for a fresh start in a new city. Her best friend has helped her find a roommate and place to live. Claire her new roommate seems to be just what Eddie needs. She is friendly and as far as she can tell very kind. When she meets Claire’s brother Harris she is immediately taken with him. Harris doesn’t quite leave the best impression on Eddie. He is rude to her when they meet. She’s not sure how to take him. Eddie see’s how close the siblings are and figures Harris is just overly protective of his sister. Suddenly Harris takes an interest in Eddie and she does the same with Harris. They form a quick bond and connection. They both are closed off but seem to see something rare and precious in one another. When things finally begin to start feeling right is when everything start to fall a part. Claire starts acting strangely and Eddie feels something is seriously wrong with their relationship. What happens next pretty much breaks her heart! Will Harris be able to protect Eddie’s heart before it’s too late? Will he see what is happening before Eddie has had enough?

The drama unfolds pretty quickly for Eddie and Harris it is apparent that they are good for each other. Eddie is working hard on her career. She is smart, driven, and is so innocent during the entire book. She doesn’t back down from a challenge and is willing to put up a fight when she needs to. Harris blows right in very fiercely. When he starts acting sweetly towards her is when he sealed the deal for me.

I felt that Harris was holding a lot back and whatever it is, it’s shaped him into the man he is. Eddie knows this and understands him. Although I have no clue what this secret is I know it’s huge. It involves way more than just Harris. This book had a pretty great feel for me it felt classic, and interesting, romantic, and suspenseful. I have a feeling that there is much more to this story, and I can’t wait for the conclusion to Eddie and Harris’ story.

Eddie has recently moved to Chicago and is feeling overwhelmed, not so much with her change of location, more by her new roommate Claire Grant and her handsome, if intimidating brother Harris. The Grant siblings are from old money, they are very high-society and Eddie is left feeling way out of her depth and very enamoured of the sexy but arrogant Harris.
This is a fantastic little book, I adored Eddie, she is incredibly sweet, a very likeable female lead. She really has a good head on her shoulders and I was glad that when it mattered she was able to stand up for herself.
Harris is...well...delicious. Handsome, charismatic, charming, protective and a little bit broken. All the right ingredients to make up the perfect Fictional Man. I loved how Eddie and Harris were together, he was so sweet with her, he really is heart-melting.
However, the naughty Olivia Luck ended this book on a cliffhanger, although it's not a rip-your-hair-out-in-frustration cliffhanger, so don't worry, but it was enough for me to be feeling slightly adrift without my...ahem...Eddie's Harris. More please Olivia luck, I need more!

I absolutely ADORED this book!

This book is about second chances not just at love but at life! Eddie has uprooted herself from everything and everyone she has known to start anew. She winds up in the city of Chicago, with a very sweet... eh, strange ... eh,questionable roommate named Claire.

Then there's Harris. A moment to swoon, please. *swoons* Ok. Harris is not only sexy and attractive, he's the type of man you are dying to "figure out"

Eddie and Harris' chemistry is undeniable. However, both of them have a past that hinders their relationship at times. We learn about Eddie's. I'm dying to learn about Harris'!! There is only enough information to make you hungry for more!

This is Olivia's debut novel and I have to say, she's got a knack for pulling the reader in so that you feel you are walking the hallways with the characters. I love when a writer can pull me in like that and I am looking forward to the next installment, as well as all future novels from this very talented author.

In Pursuit is a story about a woman named Edith, or Eddie as she likes to go by, who escapes her dismal life in Arlington, Virginia, to make a new start in Chicago.

There, she moves in with a friend of a friend. Her beautiful roommate Claire seems to have issues of her own. She is moody and does everything she can to stop Eddie from being with her gorgeous brother Harris.

Harris himself is moody, overprotective, and is hiding secrets of his own. Even so, Eddie and Harris have found a deep bond and they fall for each other instantly.

Unfortunately outsides forces are wreaking havoc on their relationship and it is tearing them apart.

The author did an amazing job with this story. The characters were easy to like and the story flowed wonderfully throughout the book. Eddie is just a normal girl like the rest of us and we just want to see her get her Prince Charming. I can’t wait to read book 2.

In Pursuit, is a wonderfully written, passionate and often witty love story. It is a perfect blend of sweet, saucy, and sassy. Olivia does a great job of captivating, and connecting her readers with the story.

Eddie and Harris’ connection felt real, deep, and oh-SO- sexy. The sexual tension between these two… the air literally crackles with expectancy.

If you are looking for a contemporary romance that feels intense, witty and steamy at the same time, I highly recommend, In Pursuit.

I am eagerly looking forward for the sequel, Of Happiness.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Eddie Neff leaves her old life behind to start a new one in Chicago. She ends up rooming with the rich socialite, Claire Grant. This new life of hers goes in a direction that she never imagined. Claire's brother, Harris is mysterious, brooding, and HOT. You feel the instant attraction he has to Eddie, but he tries to fight it. He has a heightened sense of responsibility to Claire, and his want or need for Eddie is in the way. Eventually, Harris can no longer harbor his feelings the more he gets to know Eddie.

“Because holding you settles my chaos.”

Eddie is a heroine that I really liked. While she has been through a lot in her past, she is strong and independent. She makes the move to another city and establishes her self professionally. She has a fighting spirit about her. Harris. Sigh. Where do I begin? He demands attention when he walks into a room. He's assertive and dominant in everything he does. Yet, he has a soft vulnerable side to him that we eventually get to see a glimpse of. Something tells me that we are going to get to see more into his beautiful soul. He is in unimaginable pain. You feel his pain as you read this story. You also feel his need and want to care about someone and to have someone care about him. It's like he's been afraid of feeling again, but Eddie breaks down that barrier and allows him to feel again.

"Because you've shown me that there's a woman out there who can being me to my knees..."

The author was able to successfully mix romance in with mystery. It allowed me as the reader, to keep thinking of what would happen next, and I was surprised at the twists and turns in the story. I found that it was a beautiful debut. It was well-written and I look forward to more of this authors work.

In Pursuit is one of those books that you instantly fall in love with. I found myself, laughing out loud, yelling at the characters, and swooning over Harris. I loved the flow of the story. It kept me engaged and I found it hard to put down. The characters are unique and likable. I absolutely cannot wait until the next installment of this series is released

I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review.

I really liked this book and thought that Olivia does a fantastic job of connecting you with the characters throughout the story. She takes you on a journey with Eddie that is filled with drama, some wit, and a hot sexy man that you would love to call your own.

The book starts off with Eddie moving from her home town to Chicago to start new. She’s always done what was expected of her and is looking to change that.

She finds a roommate to stay with in Chicago and it totally surprised at her new home. Her roommate is a little different. Her roommate also seems a little possessive of her as well, but she’ll put up with it if it means she get to say in that awesome apartment. Plus it seems pretty harmless. Another bonus is that her new roommate has a brother named Harris who is sexy as sin and she just can’t stop thinking about him.

The more you get to know Harris, you see that he definitely is an Alpha male (which makes him super-hot) but he also holds so much inside it almost makes him the weak one in the relationship. Harris holds a guilt so deep you almost wonder if he will ever be able to so forgive himself, but Eddie is always there trying to reassure him and help him see not everything is his fault. She slowly starts to make him see that he wasn’t totally at fault and that he just might be able to move on.

Shortly after Eddie and Harris start to date, his sister started in with the drama and tries to rip them apart. Will she succeed in her mission of keeping Eddie to herself, or will Harris and Eddie fight for what they have? Will Harris finally realize he doesn’t have to make up for the past, he can have want he wants and still be happy?

It’ll be interesting to see what Olivia has in store for Eddie and Harris. I can’t wait until the next book comes out!!

WOW HOLY SMOKE, what an ending, I just finis reading this book and I love it, now I cant wait to read the second part of this story, I cant believe how it end it, love the characters and let me just say that the title of this book is perfect, I did not wanted to finish reading this, I want more and I don't think I could way for the next book, I am gone keep this short since I don't want to give anything away.

The story begging with Eddie she is an interior design, she just got out of a relationship, she wanted to move away and start fresh, when she got the opportunity to do so, she move to Chicago, now that she is in her new apartment with her new roommate Claire, she start thinking that she might like it their, than she meets Harris, the first day that she meets him he is rude, after that day she has tried to avoid him, when she start to get the hang of it she start to notice that things are not what they seem to be, Harrison start to push her buttons, and start to have feelings for her, but he is dealing with his own demon, when they finally get together and things are going great, something happened and it turn their world up side down, would they be able to work their own issues or would they let those issue rule their life.

I really enjoy and love reading this book, I have to say that at first I couldn't stand Harrison, cause of the way he was acting, but then he grow on me and when I saw how he change with Eddie I love him, I love the way that Eddie is love it how she love her job, and how she tried to get out of her shell, love seen Harrison and Eddie felt in love with each other little by little.

Author Olivia Luck THANK YOU for introducing me to this amazing characters and this awesome book. cant wait to read the next book in the series to find out what would happened next.

ARC received in exchange for honest review.

I love books where the story and characters seem real. You know the kind, like you can see yourself as friends with the characters because they are so well written, you can relate with them. In Pursuit is one of the those books. From the moment that I started the book, I immediately connected with the characters. Eddie (Edith) is a very likable, real young woman. She is starting her life and career in a new city. Her new life comes with a roommate, Claire, your typical spoiled little rich girl. Then there is Harris, Claire’s brother which will take your breath away and finally, my favorite supporting characters, Sean and Luke.

In Pursuit is a witty romantic story. Eddie, is starting a new life in Chicago where her decorating business takes off. When she meets Harris, sparks fly. The interest in this delicious male is definitely there. As she gets to know him better, she learns that the interest is mutual. Everything is going well for her. Her professional life is thriving. She meets new clients and makes friends. Everything seems perfect. Harris is perfect. Their chemistry takes over and there is your hot and steamy love story.

Of course, all love stories have their obstacles. Eddie’s past and her present post hurdles in this story. Claire, the roommate, seems to have a problem with Harris and Eddie among other problems of her own. (no spoilers)

Cleverly written, In Pursuit will keep you hooked to the Kindle (in my case). The right amount of suspense and angst make this a great read.

The story ends with a cliffhanger. I can’t wait to see what happens to one of my favorite new couples, Eddie and Harris.

I gave Olivia’s debut book 5 shinning stars!

I recieved this book for an honest review. I have to be honest with you ~ I was not sure I would like it but I absolutely adored, loved, and can not wait till the next one comes out. This book had me clinging to every word.

We meet Eddie as she is moving to the big city to move in with Claire. When Eddie meets Claire’s brother, Harris, it is instant attraction. You can feel the attraction between the two but because of past issues both are scared to be with each other.

The enjoyment of this book was the attraction you feel between Eddie and Harris. Through the pages you feel what they are feeling. You feel how uncertain they both are. I just really enjoyed this book and absolutely can not wait for the next one to release.

Edith (Eddie) has just moved to Chicago to get her career going and make a new life for herself. She finds a great living situation thanks to a connection from a friend, and is quickly swept up into a whirlwind of new experiences and opportunities thanks to her roommate Claire. Claire has a very over protective brother names Harris who Eddie is very drawn to despite their awkward initial interactions. Harris also feels a lot of strong emotions towards Eddie, but Claire is not happy about the prospect of sharing her brothers attention with anyone.

I think we know quickly that Claire isn't a completely genuine person. While she does a lot of nice things and is generous at times, there is also an edge there that is a little unstable and a little scary. Eddie is a hard working girl who has had things rough growing up with a single father who provided for her financially, but not emotionally. She has found a strong support system for herself through her friends, and it is clear that they care about her very much. Her authenticity helped crack the hard shell around the sexy but elusive Harris. Watching them experience and explore their attraction to one another was great. They both have some issues that present road blocks, but both seem to be able to suck it up and deal with them...eventually. The chemistry between them is very hot and I kept hoping that they could work through the challenges in their path and find happiness together. We are left on a bit of a cliff-hanger, and I will definitely be reading it to find out what happens next. These are characters that I enjoyed and would like to spend more time with. Soon, if possible.

This review has been weighting heavily on me for several weeks now, I have been completely conflicted with my rating and my review, but here it goes...

This is probably the most personal preference based review I have written in a while, the things that did not work for me in this books, are most likely things others can overlook.

The book is polished, a beautiful cover, clean writing and great flow. I will start on what did not work for me so we can end on a positive note.

The main reason for my conflict, the main characters Eddie and Harris. I just did not feel any attachment too these characters. The sex felt rushed, and I could feel the authors discomfort in writing these scenes. Many times Eddie used the word pussy during sex and it just felt forced and awkward because the sex scene did not have enough to support the dirtiness of the word. My other issue with Eddie and Harris, individually and as a couple, there were too many similarities to other characters in books I had recently read. I really needed some unique qualities to Eddie and Harris to respond to them.

I tend to gravitate to the unknown in a book and here is where the book was saved for me; CLAIRE. She was crazy, think single white female crazy. Olivia Luck did a great job with Claire. She was fresh and unpredictable. I read this book in a day because of her. I really want to know what she is all about.

Overall, I think this is a solid start for author Olivia Luck. I would recommend this book, and would absolutely read the next book in the series.

Eddie was a girl looking to start over. She moved to a new city where she knew no one,, moved into an apartment with a stranger, completely left all of her comfort zones and familiar faces. Her new roommate is Claire. What an enigma that girl is. She seems upbeat and friendly enough however there is something off about her. Enter Claire’s older brother Harris. Harris is aloof, stern, brooding and a whole lot of HOT!
Eddie’s character was extremely likeable and relatable. You found yourself identifying with her and almost envying her courage to leave everything behind and start fresh. She develops an attraction to Harris, is trying to form a friendship with Claire, trying to get her footing with her career, all while adjusting to a new home. That my friends, takes GUTS!
Harris Grant…oh my! He was big, brooding and beautiful. Claire Grant, his sister, is the bread and butter of this story. She was like straight out of Single White Female. The Grant’s have secrets, secrets that affect their everyday lives and make their relationship unique. Throw Eddie in the middle of these two and some sparks fly!
This story flowed really well and was easy to read. I loved the way the author had the characters constantly developing and every time I thought I had it figured out BAM something else would throw me off!
I would give this book 4 stars. I can’t wait for book two to find out how this story ends. I have so many questions! Kudo’s Olivia Luck, for writing a well thought out story and having your readers so invested that we can’t wait for the conclusion!

4.5 shining stars

In Pursuit is about a girl named Eddie or Edith. She has left the comfort of her home near Washington DC to get a bit of a fresh start. She finds a place to live through a mutual friend of her best friend, and she relocates to Chicago. After a rough failed relationship that ended badly she just wants to get a new start in a new city. She moves in with Claire a somewhat moody party girl. Eddie is a little unsure of things with her and then she meets Claire's brother Harris.

Harris is a broody brother to Claire. He is a protector and at times overbearing. He gives off lots of mixed signals and she can't decide if it's up or down with him. Then one night something happens and things change between them.

Things are intense from the very beginning between her and Harris. They meet under what wasn't the best of circumstances and she feels the pull even then. They give each other mixed signals through the whole until eventually it all comes to a head. Eventually things explode and it is intense and great and sad all at the same time.

Claire is somewhat of an unlikable character that doesn't have many redeeming qualities as far as I am concerned. I am hoping in the next book she can either redeem herself a little or at least gets what's coming to her. I am not one for revenge, but I also do not like people are conniving individuals.

This is a really good read and most definitely worth a read.

" He is the drain and I'm circling, circling, unable to resist him. > Edith

" You are...my very own realized dream." > Harris

Harris is complicated and brooding and sexy and controlling...everything that Eddie ( Edith ) does not need in her life, after all she left Washington to get away from anything that made her feel bad.

Edith takes Harris' breath away .She helps him forget all his responsibilities and the guilt he feels for his family and their issues. She is all he wants but how will he show her that?

So many reasons for her to run from him and his family but Edith wants him and knows she belongs with him but will she ever be his priority...will he ever put her first when it matters.

I am so happy I found this book in my library. I couldn't put it down and was so excited when I found it was first book in a two book series where the second one was already released and waiting for me to dive into it. Woo Hoo , because yes there is a cliff hanger.

Great job Olivia Luck with twisting story lines and a cast of fun and intriguing characters that I cannot wait to move into book two and find out what their futures hold. Do Edith and Harris have a future...I damn well hope so !!!!

In Pursuit, love this book!!
From the start up to the last, everything is amazing!
The story and the characters held my interest and I love each every second of this book!

The characters, Eddie and Harris are great!
I love both of the characters.
Eddie, she's sweet and I love her attitude.
She's not snobbish and she's easy to love and like.
Harris, my first impression to this guy is not that good. lol..
But as the story goes by, my impression to this man proved to be wrong!
I fell in love with this guy.
The other characters, they are also good.
They are easy to remember and feel too.

The story is amazing!
The way the story started intrigues me but when I met the other characters, I was more intrigued on what will be their role in the story.
The flow and the concept of the story are good.
It's easy to understand and to follow.
As the story goes, man I freaking loved every minute of it!
Revelation and drama is killing me!!!
I cried on some parts and I want to throttle 2 or 3 characters too..
Well, it just made the story more interesting
and the way the story ended....WOW!!!
I never see that one coming!!
Can't wait to read book 2!

I read this book rather quickly. I really liked Eddie and enjoyed seeing her spread her wings a little while trying to find herself in a new place. Initially I wasn't very sure about Harris and how he felt regarding Eddie, but once his feelings became clear, I was totally on board. I must also admit to being intrigued by Claire. She really had me guessing what was really going on with her.

Besides Eddie, I loved Sean and Luke. Those two were hilarious and adorable! I loved how they were great friends of Eddie's. I also enjoyed the wonderful descriptions of Chicago. I could totally picture myself in some of the scenes as an onlooker to the drama unfolding.

Olivia, the author, had me relaxed as I read the first half of the book, but once it became clear that things weren't so rosy, I was sitting on the edge of my seat hoping everything would be alright. I saw a lot of what was coming, but the twists at the end were a total surprise. Luckily for me, I had the second book on hand which I started right after I finished this one and was able to find out the rest of Eddie and Harris's story.

Eddie, Claire, and Harris all have their secrets. Eddie's is that she is starting over in a new city, far away from her immature ex. Claire and Harris Grant's secrets run deep. Claire is very different from placid Eddie. She is far more outgoing, she's a risk taker, and she dabbles in things that shock the far more conservative Eddie. Harris appears to be a cold, unwelcoming presense, but underneath the man is boiling with unresolved and unspoken feelings.

Eddie struggles with her self worth, her emotionally distant relationship with her father, and the psycological damage inflicted by her ex-boyfriend. The Grant siblings' secrets are far deeper and more sinister. What caused Harris to be so overprotective? Is Claire really the friendly woman she appears to be? Will Eddie be able to jumpstart her career and start her life over? And more importantly, will Harris and Eddie respond to the mutual attraction that burgeons whenever they are near one another? Or will Eddie run - again - leaving Harris 'In Pursuit'?

I truly loved this book. The dynamic between Edith, Harris and Claire will leave you on pins and needles.

Edith moves to Chicago for a fresh start and finds herself potentially in over her head in the social circles she finds herself immediately thrust into.

Enter Harris. I want my own personal Harris. I immediately fell in love with him and the way that he interacts with Edith. He has left me wanting more and longing to see where this budding relationship with Edith will go.

And then we have Claire the mood swinging roommate that you will love to hate and did I mention she is Harris' sister. The antics of Claire will leave you wondering what will happen next in the book "Of Happiness".

Although this book has a huge cliffhanger it is the perfect ending to keep you coming back for the next book to see how this new wrinkle in Edith and Harris' relationship concludes.

If you haven't read this yet . . . get it now!

I was given the chance to do an honest review for Of Happiness second book in this series. I almost turned down the chance to do the review, but decided that I would give it a chance. I'm not one that just jumps to read books from authors that I have not heard about or been recommend by someone I know. ( I'm extremely picky in my reading choices). This book rocks! One minute you are ready to go in to a boxing match for Eddie, the next your asking why are you make that choice. I love a book that can pull you in to the story so you feel like your right there in that moment and Olivia did that with this book.

Eddie is trying to push past a bad break-up and move on with life. She comes from a home that was not always supportive. Harris comes from a family that was close and has a few hidden secrets that is causing trouble. Eddie first impression of Harris is that of a jerk. Harris is all alpha and gives little away, which makes for one wild ride.

Ok so I knew this would end on a cliff hanger but agh! I need more. This is the kind of book you have to read in one sitting. Its not really a suspenseful read, but I felt like I was sitting on the edge of my seat anyway.

The characters are amazing. I love Eddie. She is the kind of character almost any type of girl can relate too. Harris is a lovely character too, but like all dark knights he has some serious baggage. I really enjoyed reading Harris and Eddie come together. I really need their ending though. Claire is Eddie's roommate and Harris' sister. Well that's all I will say for now on that, but again really great characters. A perfect read. I highly recommenced to all you readers out there.

I think that this was a book with a great story that was brought down by the characters. Harris was the only one I liked.

Edith’s past was definitely something worth trying to escape. She was lucky enough to have a job she could do from anywhere. She immediately meets someone she’s interested in, but loyalty to his family becomes an obstacle, in addition to her dealing with her past.

That’s a good story right?

Unfortunately, Edith was kind of immature and definitely a pushover. She can kind of be talked into anything and doesn’t speak up for herself when she’s being walked all over by her roommate, Claire, and her friends.
