Kingdom of Betrayal #4

A Soul Like Glass (A Fantasy Romance)

Rate this book
My destiny has been forged.
Limitless power is mine to claim.

But I don't want it.

I want what I've lost, the life I didn't have a chance to live, with a love that surpassed every hope I ever dared cling to. I want the Vandawolf's ferocity and his quick mind and his determination. I need his belief in me and his perseverance. I need his fire. I need his heart.

And I can't have any of it.

Instead, I have been given a power that has thrown the land into turmoil.

War is a whisper on the lips of dragons, a snarl in the mouths of Valkyrie, a cry from humans whose families have been destroyed, and a growing scream from the desperate fae whose queen schemes to save them.

All are gathering to fight. None will yield.

In the center of the storm are the ones I love. My family, who I have fought to protect, are choosing sides, and so must I.

But how can I know where to place my power when the shadows of the past loom over me?

On one side, the fury of the Vandawolf and the destiny he forged for me. On the other, an arcane being whose power could save or condemn me.

How can I choose when betrayal grows with every breath I take?

Content information: This is high fantasy romance, the fourth and final book in the Kingdom of Betrayal series. It is intended for mature audiences due to steamy content, violence, and language. Ends with a Happily Ever After and NO cliffhanger.

This is one of the best conclusions to a series I’ve ever read. I’ve been eagerly awaiting this book hoping it would answer questions and tie things together and it does all of that and so so much more. If you’ve been waiting for the series to be complete before reading then go grab them now and devour them I wish I could experience them all again for the first time!

An Immersive, Action-packed Fantasy with a Powerful Emotional Core – Spellbinding & Foundational

This book left me teary-eyed and speechless—in the best possible way. Everly Frost has delivered yet another emotional masterpiece, rich in world-building and lore. The multiple points of view add incredible depth to the story, offering unique insights from various characters. For those unfamiliar with the series, this is book 4—don’t start here, as you'll need to read the previous books first.

Not only does this book provide a perfect conclusion to the Kingdom of Betrayal series, but it also ties together the entire world of the Ever Realms. And the bonus "Dark Chapter"—oh my goodness, it’s shocking and absolutely perfect! But be warned: it’s only for those who are familiar with the Ever Realms world.

Don’t miss out on this captivating, multi-POV, epic fantasy gem!

🔨Length: Novel

🟡Genre: Epic fantasy with a dash of romance & smut (elves, dragons, monsters, and more)

🐺POV: First person, multiple characters viewpoints

⚡Age: Adult

⚫Warnings: Language, sexual content, sacrifice, violence/character death

🔨Spice: Not the focus of this story, but it is described on page

🟡Violence: This is a brutal, war-ravaged world, fraught with political intrigue, life-threatening betrayals, and ruthless villains. The violence primarily revolves around intense battle action, with moments of intimidation, mind games, and torture adding to the chaos.

🐺Editing: There are a few minor issues, but nothing that disrupts the flow of the story. The pacing is spot-on; you're hooked from the start and it never lets go. The action is vividly described without overwhelming the narrative, and despite the fast pace, there are plenty of moments for character development and emotional depth.

⚡World: The Ever Realms (“Seven series. One world.”)

⚫Series: Kingdom of Betrayal: Book 4

🔨Tropes: Morally grey protagonists, family drama, overwhelming odds, fate, sacrifice

🟡Ending: A masterful conclusion to a fabulous series, and the backstory that brings all seven Ever Realms series together.

🐺Recommend & Re-read? Absolutely! It hurt so good.

An Epic, Heart-Wrenching Fantasy Masterpiece

This book is an absolute triumph—a breathtaking fusion of love, destiny, and war that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The protagonist's struggle is deeply compelling, torn between limitless power and the life and love she’s lost. Every page crackles with tension as war looms, alliances fracture, and the weight of impossible choices bears down on her.

The worldbuilding is immersive, filled with dragons, Valkyries, fae, and humans locked in a high-stakes battle that feels both epic and deeply personal. The Vandawolf is a force to be reckoned with—his fire, his heart, his unwavering belief in the heroine make him unforgettable. And the looming presence of an arcane being adds layers of mystery and danger that will leave you breathless.

The emotional depth in this story is staggering. Love, betrayal, sacrifice—every moment hits hard. The writing is vivid and lyrical, painting a world that is as ruthless as it is beautiful. If you love fantasy filled with high-stakes romance, impossible choices, and powerful storytelling, this book is an absolute must-read. I couldn't put it down, and I’m still thinking about it long after the final page.

A tale of love, magic and sacrifice from the opening of the series to this finale - the end of the beginning.
The Vandawolf was always a bit larger than life when he was mentioned in other parts of the Everly Frost universe and this series gave me everything that I was hoping for as his backstory and more. I loved Asha and her origin story as a Blacksmith, their love story, her development as a strong female supernatural heroine throughout the series. Seeing Asha and The Vandawolf's Story unfold here along with the creation of the keepers and The Spire!!! was brilliant and magical and wonderful and sad knowing all good things have to come to an end... It was an amazing and heartbreaking finale and I adored every minute of it even though I yelled when the story did not open by pickuping up directly from that cliffhanger from the previous book A Storm Like Iron but it was all worth it. Kingdom of Betrayal was a triumph of a series. I loved Asha and I loved Erik separately and adored them together - Together they make the ultimate medieval romantasy power couple.

I am so sad to say goodbye to this world but by golly did Everly do this series justice with A Soul Like Glass.

Let's start at the end... a masterful tying of a million little loose ends with some that I didn't even realise were loose. I am so satisfied by the ending, I can't even describe the contented feeling in my heart, a little melancholy but with a sigh of happiness.

I really enjoyed the level of heart you could feel that Frost poured into the words on the page.
From every emotion the characters are feeling to all the events they go through, you as the reader are never left behind.

Asher and Erik seriously just chefs kiss!!
The connection portrayed between the two is uncommon in depth and so gratifying to read about.
I also really appreciated that all the side characters bring something to the table, no figureheads here just for the head count. I particularly liked Tamra and her povs.

The Celestial Star 🥹🥹

I don't want to talk about what actually went on in the book because I feel that so much would be spoiled without even trying. Y'all just need to read this book!
She was a chunky one, this book took me a few days to get through because she is thicc!
I really loved that nothing was spared to describe and emphasise yet there was also no lull periods and filler words for the sake of it.

All in all one of my favourite series and I loved that it linked back to Bright Wicked.

Wow!

This is the first book Everly has written that includes multiple points of view and I love it!!!

The book takes off following Tamra who is with her twin brother Gallium and Thaden. We don't trust Thaden... They need to get away from the Fae queen Karasi and her castle which has it's difficulties... Thaden is taking the twins to his home where he promised Asha they would be safe and out of harm's way. During their course Gallium has a mishap on a cliff and is rescued/taken leaving Tamra to trust Thaden. The blight is also nipping at their heels so they must make haste!

Then we get Asha and Erik's point of view. And oh em gee Asha is fighting nonstop to save herself and Erik! She contends with the Dragon King Graviter Rex, Valkyries trying to claim Erik The Valkyrie leader asks Asha to protect Thaden... Do we trust him? We still say not quite yet... And then a hoard of dragons and their riders fight against Asha and Erik after Erik hurt the Dragon King!

They arrive finally to Thaden's home Myrkur Fjalls and it seems Thaden may just be misunderstood... Judged by who his father is and the actions he has taken to get Asha on side.

This is the final book in the series and it ties many of Everly's other series together. It's a great series and you won't be disappointed with the action, adventure, friendship, family and love Everly has written into this book!

⚜️ Book Title - A Soul Like Glass
⚜️ Author - Everly Frost
⚜️ Rating - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
⚜️ Some Genre/Themes/Tropes: Adult Fiction, Romance and Fantasy

I received an advanced reader copy (ARC) of this book via the author. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. This is my honest review.

Wow! What an incredible way to wrap up the series. Everly has truly surpassed expectations, weaving together every thread in a way that’s both unexpected and deeply satisfying.

Picking up where the last book left off, this one is packed with action, emotion, and just enough twists to keep you guessing right up to the final page.

As always, I devour Everly’s books and never finish feeling anything but thrilled—each page pulls me in, leaving me craving more. This was yet another fantastic read!

I would recommend this book to others. I definitely will look for other books written by this author.

I want to say thank you to the author for the ARC.

Note (How I rate): One is DNF. Two is got there but struggled. Three stars is a good, enjoyable read. Four is an excellent read and five is a comfort read that lingers with me for life (very difficult to get but not impossible).

Book 4 in Kingdom of Betrayal series

A heartbreaking, magical fantasy read that will take your emotions on a roller coaster ride along the pages. Prepare for lots of tears with this impossible love story that finds its conclusion within the pages of the book, but it's completely worth it. The masterful tying together of all the little pieces, not just within this series but within interconnected storylines and series, is quite simply brilliant.

Once again, I wish that I could give this book a proper review; however, my words can't bring justice to the beauty of this series. My recommendation: read the entire series and fall in love with each book like I did. Honestly, I spent a lot of time either reading on the edge of my seat or through tears, but I was truly ensnared by it. My heart broke over and over before being mended. It's a book about believing the impossible, making difficult choices, sacrificing for those you love, and surviving against the darkness.

You ever read a book series that you loved so much it hurt when it was done? This is just one of Frost amazing series that leaves you this way. Everly has created such a beautiful and intricate world with all her series! I truly love the attention to detail, the Easter eggs and the characters!
Now to this last piece of Asha's story, we left off with a heart wrenching cliffy in book 3. Book 4 picks and shows you can forge a path when the ones presented are not what you want. Asha shows so much character growth and depth in this book. I enjoyed the side stories of certain characters. I loved so much the discoveries throughout! I find myself sadden that this world is coming to an end with the last series but man I could read them all again! Everly Frost is truly magnificent in her writing and creativity she brings to life! I truly believe these stories are movie/tv worthy! Everly thank you for allowing us to join you on this journey! Love it!

What an amazing finale! This is the final book in the Kingdom of Betrayal series so you definitely have to read in order, and wow is it worth it! This might be the best series yet – with glimpses into many others. If this is your first Everly Frost book series, you will want to read every other series in this world in recommended order (listed at the end of the book). So much I want to say about this, but it really would give away too much, so if you’re reading reviews to see if this is worth your time, it is. If you’re checking reviews because you wonder how the last book brings everything together, worth it! Everly delivers strong male and female characters, family bonds are tight, and morally grey characters are ??? well, everyone is not always what they seem. Strong sacrifices are incurred by many and difficult decisions are made throughout.

this book series was super intense, and the finale was no different. I really enjoyed this series and it would be on I would recommend to friends and maybe collect on my trophy shelf. I really enjoyed the FMC she wasn't a childish snarky, she wasn't weepy, she was brave, and caring, and able to make tough decisions. She was kind and fit perfectly with her MMC. I loved that the spicey scenes didn't feel super out of place or drawn out. I liked the ending that set up for a new series with different characters. This is a well rounded and interesting read. Very happy I found this on Kindle unlimited.

Everly Frost has done it yet again with A Soul Like Glass! It wraps up the series so perfectly and goes everything together. It’s a wild ride and with all the ups and downs it was sometimes hard to believe there’s an HEA but there is, and it’s worth it! I love Everly’s writing and this world she’s created is amazing! Now I want to go back and reread a bunch of her books since they are connected to this one. I think it would be super fun to binge her books in the recommended order to see how they all tie together. You can read this series first, but you’ll get the most out of it if you read all her books in order. If you love fantasy romance, I can’t recommend Everly’s books enough!

Compelling series

Asha's journey has been a series of tortured and painful experiences, betrayed and used. She was denied her family, abandoned by those she fought to protect.yet she still sought justice and hope despite the odds stacked against her. Her bond with Erik has deepened over time and changed. This book has all sorts of magical creatures from wolves, dragons, Valkyries, and the Fae. Fierce battles with monsters and Blacksmiths who fight against them. It is a tale of dark magic and the will to survive. This author has written a great series, and I spent the whole day reading until I turned the last page in the book.

The FMC is written so well. I love how strong she is. I love the world Everly Frost writes and how you can see yourself right there with the characters.

Thrilling, heartbreaking, devastating, and truly wonderful! This unputdownable book was everything!!

From the gorgeous cover to the fantastic scenes inside, this was a gift to the readers who have loved every series in this jaw-dropping world. I'm a bit broken by the ending, but if I wasn't feeling the angst, this wouldn't be an Everly Frost book.

I can't quite put my feelings into words. Just know that I'm a weepy mess, and this series should be on your TBR if you haven't read it yet. I can't wait to begin the adventure all over again because I can't get the characters out of my head.

A SOUL LIKE GLASS is an absolute epic finale to the 4 book Kingdom of Betrayal series. This book and series is beyond incredible. I can’t say much without sharing spoilers but Everly Frosts’ intricate storytelling and the way she so cleverly ties so many different parts of the story together is amazing. I was hooked the whole way through and felt every emotion while reading this book. I loved these characters so much right from the start and I’m incredibly sad to say goodbye. What an amazingly epic ending to a fantastic series! Frost has a way of adding twists and turns her readers don't tend to see, and this story was no different. She also intertwines her series with her flawless world-building. This one tied in so well at the end (no spoilers!) that I truly did not see it coming. I'm absolutely thrilled with the conclusion and feel that everything is as it should be in the world.

This final book in this series left me destroyed, it was so intense and full of so many things, revelations, fights, love, intrigue, political plot, and I couldn't stop reading.

This was such a great ending for Asha's and Erik's story, and it lays the foundatons for what is coming next but also it ties all the series she has in the same world.

You just need to dive in in these world and all the series it has.

My head is still reeling!

I have loved spending time in Asha’s work was so wowed by the last book that I knew the final book would have to be good. BUT I had no idea what a ride was in store when I began reading it. There are so many twists and turns that caused be to verbally interact with the book, LOL. My apologies to the author for all of the times I doubted the outcome! I am definitely going to have to re-read the Dark Matter Shifters trilogy.

Nope, just you up with a lightbringer for a love story so powerful it will rock your world! This is a hidden Romantasy gem and a must read series. Thank you, Everly Frost for sharing this amazing world with us and giving a little hint on what's to come next in this story.

Holy smokes…

The way Everly has entwined so many different series together, dropping little Easter eggs here and there, is utterly amazing.

I have no words after finishing this story.

The pain, the love, the loss, the gains, so many emotions are in these pages.

I loved Erik and Asha’s story and everything in between. I can’t believe it’s over.

Thank you for one of the most intense and beautiful stories ever.

And just like that it's over.

I'm not sure how I feel, I feel like I need another couple of epilogues about the kids and Asha's siblings and Thaden. I just want more.

This book took me through all the emotions, there was plenty of action to keep you on the edge of your seat and it concluded the series perfectly.

It all ties in so neatly with Everly's other series.
