Most times, we don’t see the big days in our life coming. The life-changing moments creep up on us. We don’t wake up knowing that today will be the day something happens that completely alters the trajectory of our lives. I did, of course. I knew the exact date my wife was going to die. From the moment I met Willow Stone, I knew December 27, 2019, would be the day my world came crashing down. That wasn’t a surprise. What I didn’t expect was to kiss my dead wife’s best friend on the anniversary of her death.
Learn to live and love again in this sequel to the heart-wrenching novel, And Then I Met You.
Erica Lee finished writing her first book, Dear Santa: I’m Gay, in December 2016. Erica currently lives in Pennsylvania with her wife, dog, chinchilla, and bunny. She spends her days working as an optometrist and her nights snuggled up on the couch with her furry family, binging on netflix or youtube.

Once I started, I couldn't put it down. Thank you for this sequel because it was perfect. The beginning tore me apart, you could feel Rosemary's pain but then seeing her move forward was heartwarming.
This book has been a long time coming. With the heartache of the first book, I wasn't sure if this book could match up. It surpassed it and more, it has its moment of laughter as well as sadness. Above anything else it will still rip into your heart like nothing you felt before. A well written and another page turner by Erica. Anybody who has lost someone this close will easily relate to the words written. A must read. And don't forget the tissues!!!
We first met Rosemary and Tori in the book And Then I Met You by Erica Lee. That's also when we met and said goodbye to Willow. This is 2 1/2 years after Willows' death and we find Tori wanting to move out of the house at the Barn. Rosemary offers Tori and Bella (her daughter) to move into her house, with her and her's and Willow's daughter Emery. This follows their life and love. I will be honest, you'll shed tears throughout, but you'll also be cheerful. This is an amazing book. A favorite! Should be more than 5 stars!
It is a beautiful book by the talented writer Erica Lee. This brought many moments of tears and happiness. It brought forth the struggles of losing someone you love. How to love, who you need around you, and how to heal. This with all of the Erica Lee books I've read are deeply emotional that are fitting to the situation she writes, but doesn't use kids' gloves and brings out the nitty gritty of life, being realistic more than fanciful. I will continue to follow along with Erica Lee as she continues to write.
The sequel to And Then I Met You will heal the broken heart you probably had at the end of that novel. And Then I Met You broke me into so many pieces and Living For You built me back up again. Erica Lee gives you a chance to cry and really feel for her characters. They are both flawed and perfect at the same time. This is a worthy read.
I think I read this too soon after the first book, And Then I Met You. Yes, I’m happy Rosemary found love again, (only a monster wouldn’t want someone to have love in their life), but I’m still mourning Willow 🥺
I didn't realize that And Then I Met You had a sequel until I randomly stumbled upon it. Of course I immediately had to read it, so I strapped myself in and got ready to start crying. I was not disappointed and this novel delivered exactly what I expected from it. This was just simply beautiful and heartbreaking, all at the same time, similar to the first novel. I think this one wasn't as good, but I would give And Then I Met You something like 7-stars so that isn't a fair standard to measure against. I have complaints (its not perfect!), but at the end of the day they don't matter because this novel was a wonderful experience.
Do NOT read this without reading the previous novel; I have no idea how well it would stand on its own but I now for certain that it would be better if you read the previous novel first. There is also a bunch of cross-over with the novel The Perfect Fit; its not required reading but the Easter eggs are fun so I recommend that one as well. In fact, The Perfect Fit would be a great pick-me-up to read between these two heartbreaking novels.
What a great exploration of grief and moving on following the death of a spouse. This is a difficult topic and it was very well handled.
It's also a testament to the authors writing ability that the reader knows from page one exactly what is going to happen in this novel, full spoilers, and yet it is still such a good read.
This is a Willow centric story. From the beginning chapter the tears are threatening to fall and they stay that way for a few chapters. Rosemary is trying to keep her life going with her daughter Emery growing up. She is back to teaching and with her renewed relationship with her parents and the Stones all being very supportive. But it’s Tori who has been her rock. Both still feeling the sadness of missing Willow. Tori wants to move out of the barn house and Rosemary invites her and Bella to stay with her since the house is big enough and Emery and Bella would love it. But Rosemary is struggling with her developing feelings for Tori and it seems that Tori is feeling the same. After putting the stop on anything happening after a kiss, a special night visit to both of them has them both rethinking the situation. Suddenly the tears sitting in my eyes start to disappear and a secret rooting for Rosemary and Tori begins. But then it happens, we find out the how. And the tears are back. And of course it makes sense because it’s totally Willow to the core. Erica Lee seamlessly takes us through the story of life that The Stone’s and families are living through. And of course we love it. We want it. We need it.
When I first read And Then I Met You, I cried like a baby! I was so moved by the tragic love story and it made me question what I would've done in either Willow or Rosemary's position. After I wrangled my emotions back in order I vowed to never break my own heart again by rereading that story (even though it was sooooo good!) and I thought that was the end. Low and behold, as I'm scrolling through my Kindle unlimited I find Living For You, and here I am once again crying my eyes out. It was a beautiful story and I'm so happy that Rosemary was able to find love again - granted I NEVER thought that it would be with Tori (but neither did she so I guess that's fair lol). The constant reminders of Willow throughout the story just showcase Erica Lee's uncanny abilities to absolutely yank on the heartstrings! But I'm not disappointed or upset that I read it. The story of Rosemary Stone feels complete now. Thank you for writing such a beautiful, yet completely heartbreaking, series.
I loved And Then I Met You and nobody can measure up to Willow. The question is whether a sequel really is needed, not better to just reminiscence about the amazing love between Willow and Rosemary?
After the crushing loss of Willow Rosemary struggles to get back on her feet. Willow’s best friend Tori is such a great support and when Rosemary offers Tori and her daughter Bella to move in with her and Willow’s daughter Emery things slowly change. Will Rosemary allow herself to find love again and can Tori allow herself to feel that way about her dead best friend’s wife.
The memory about Willow treated perfectly and I am sure Willow would have loved this, so yes I think they deserve some happiness.
Living For You reminds us that life doesn’t end with a great loss. It shows that we are allowed to be happy. And while it will never feel normal again it reminds us that we still need to live or what is the point of being alive.
The novel is beautifully told in the way it shows loss while also showing what comes next for those left behind.
It puts it all in perspective and it’s a journey I’ll take again and again.
Erica Lee pulled off some serious magic here. I would never have thought it was possible to turn Willow’s story into an unreservedly happy one. And yet here we are.
First of all, if you haven’t read And Then I Met You, stop right here and go read that first. I’m told that you can read this as a standalone, but I don’t think it makes much sense to do it. I think one of the most significant plot issues may just fall flat if it’s introduced as a background catch-up instead of living through it. Also, separate from the fact that it precedes this, And Then I Met You is an amazing book too.
OK, now, that said…. I was kind of devastated at the end of that book. I mean it was really good, but did not have the usual happy ending. However, put that together with this, and the two books together are an amazing story, which is a bit gut-wrenching in the middle, but turns it around by the end.
Speaking of this installment in particular, I loved the characters. Rosemary was so sweet, so clueless at times (*cough* chapter 5 *cough*), but clearly struggling to get over the events of the prior book. I guess I need to forgive her a little self-deception when it was clearly a difficult journey for her to come to terms with both her past and her future. However, I was totally Team Tori. For supporting Rosemary throughout, for what she said on Halloween, for being the first to speak when her number hit 10, pretty much everything about her was amazing. And for what it’s worth, I sympathized with every element of her reaction to the letter; her skepticism, her frustration, her anger, her wishing so badly that the past could be different, except insofar as it led her to the present. But, it’s not just Rosemary and Tori; Emery and Bella were so cute together and their reactions so genuine, Lisa was such a good friend, even Phil’s and Willow’s parents were wonderful.
The adventures in the book were great too, from the crossover with The Perfect Fit and the parade, the various events at the barn (including the costume wedding), the 100% Willow beach visit, birthday surprises and the NES, so much fun.
But most importantly, it ended so well. The epilogue sealed the deal, . That moment really brought the entire saga to an end on a happy note, which as I said, I never would have thought possible.
These two books together are definitely among my favorites.
After reading And Then I Met You, it's hard not to want a sequel. There are so many things you want to know. So many what ifs.
This books attempts to address some of these. You do find out a lot more of the story and the what ifs, and in that way I think this book is satisfying.
However, I found myself a bit torn about the main romance of the book. At times, it felt a bit forced or perhaps codependent. I wanted to see more agency, but it just felt like neither character wanted to explore that part.
At the end, I felt a bit let down, if I'm honest. But that's not to say the story isn't good or that the characters wouldn't work for someone else. It's just really difficult to follow And Then I Met You. The bar is just extraordinarily high.
I’ve been putting off reading this book for so long. The first book absolutely ruined me, and guess what, this one did as well. I don’t normally get overly emotional with books, this one once again ripped my heart out. It’s a really great piece of writing, Erica Lee certainly knows how to pull you into a story. The fact that you finish this with wet eyes and a broken heart, even though it’s a happy ending, just shows how great this is. This is going to live rent free in my head along with the first book for many years. Please, read both, it’s a journey you’ll be glad you went on.
Now, if I could just talk Erica Lee into releasing a paperback of these two books, that might help me heal a little.
Let me start by being completely open and honest and stating that I was so absolutely emotionally destroyed by book number one and I was not even able to read the actual death scene of Willow. I’m not even sure what happened so in some of the parts and book number two it was hard for me to follow, but that being said, I cried so hard throughout this book, see Rosemary something like two years down online after Willow has passed away and she maybe it was a year she is still struggling with the loss of her wife and they’re celebrating her and they’re coming up all of these things and then she gets closer to Tori who is Willow’s best friend.
They struggle so much to come to terms with their feelsing that it’s almost painful to read. I’m just happy that they both found peace in the end!!
5 stars. A beautiful follow up to And Then I Met Youi>. Rosemary and Tori are still grieving and have grown extremely close. This was really emotional but the love story was beautiful. Rosemary learning to be happy with someone else was lovely to see and I definitely teared up when Willow showed up in her and Tori’s dreams to tell them that they should be together. Just really beautiful. Tori and Rosemary were great together and the third act conflict was completely understandable and it was easy to empathize with how Tori was feeling. The ending was great and I just loved this so much. Great angst and emotions and a wonderful romance.
Erica Lee writes a direct sequel to her And Then I Met You. That book needs to be read first to really appreciate this story. It begins two years after the death of Willow Stone. Rosemary is still grieving the loss of her wife and is raising their child. There are celebrations to remember Willow which are planned by Willow’s best friend Tori. Rosemary invites Tori and her daughter to live with her for reasons that are realistic. But the two can’t help but feel the spark of attraction. They need to deal with grief and move forward. It is a little unrealistic at all the signs of Rosemary seen by Willow, but it works for the story. Very sweet and keep tissues on the ready.
If I thought I would get through this book with less crying than the first book, I was wrong. I had such a hard time letting Willow go. It was such a heart warming story. I cried for Rosemary and for Tori, but I cried the most for Willow. I’m glad that when Rosemary found love again it was with Tori because she was just hard not to love. Most people go through life and never find a true love but sometimes people are blessed to find it twice. Excellent series, heartbreaking, yes but still worth the read.
The writing is the only reason I gave four stars. The first book was good, but I really didn't like this story. It was kind of obvious from the start where it was going and it was a letdown. The author is one of my favorites and I would still recommend giving it a read.
This book and the previous story make up one of the most unique love stories I’ve had the pleasure to read. We’re often told to live every day as if it might be our last, but this pair of books reminds us of the ephemeral nature of our lives and how important love is, when we are fortunate enough to find it.
I wasn't sure how I would feel about this novella having found the first novel truly stunning.... But, Erica Lee has a way with words and is an incredible story teller... A gorgeous happily ever after! Thank you. We should all 'Live Like Willow'. Embrace this life, you only get one.
Read this book in a day couldn’t put it down. The way death is being addressed here, the pain or fear of moving on is just beautiful. And i can’t forget how willow lived her life. Her mindset is so inspiring even tho it’s fictional but it’s still inspiring. Even inspired me to live out my life like willow . Live like willow
So sad from start to finish. I cried through the first book and this one was even harder to keep a dry eye. I love this series. Well written and so emotional. I couldn't put it down. Read the 2 books in 2 days.
Ridiculous premise and it doesn’t get better from there. Someone has a psychic tell her when they’re going to die, they believe them, and then they actually do? No. Just no. That whole ludicrous idea just permeated this entire book. Do not recommend this at all. Zero stars if I could.
Willow has died and her wife, friends and family are still mourning but celebrating her life every day. Trying to “Live Like Willow”, they move forward to find peace and happiness. A story of grief, healing and recovery. Great story.
Ahhh! The follow up- also took me out! I definitely had mixed emotions with Tori and Rosemary bc I was like is this a real attraction or a need. But this played out so beautifully, keep the tissues near by
I didn’t think I had any more tears to shed after the first book. I was wrong. These were such good stories. So well-written and so meaningful. Thank you Erica Lee.
