Oh!! what a place it chose to stop at...........

Amazing story, so much packed into just under 100 pages. Now we know who Chang is (and was) we know his beginning and.how he.came to be in the right place at the right time so he could find and rescue Damon. Chang's origin and backstory we have always wondered about it's a lot more painful and lonely than we could ever have imagined, Finally we have the answers and oh boy, in a million years you would never have guessed right. Then there's also the ending which is setting up for something amazing to come ...........brutal and bloody no doubt..............but I'm sure our heroes will prevail, this rights been a long time coming with now not just Kit's and Damon's future at stake................. Hope we don't have to wait too long for the next book............

Wow

This was a bit convoluted but extremely interesting. This is what I was hoping we would get from Doyle's story.

This story was an inside look at Chang's history and answers what happened in Damon's past. This also helps make what was told to Damon when he went to get the blade made for Kit, make so much more sense.

Unlike the Doyle short story, this is a must read. You learn who and what Chang is. Why he is so formidable. I hope in whatever book comes next, we get to see a bit more of this Chang. It definitely sounds like the series is coming to an end.

While more of this was story telling than action, I highly recommend it for any who love this series!!

This book covers a lot of time and really shows you who Chang was and how/why he is who we know today. I'm not sure that I would want to have lived through all he did. Sure there were great times, but there was also a lot of loss. Chang seems settled into his place now, but really what other choice does he have?

I really like all the characters in Kit Colbana's world but honestly, Chang has always been one of my favorites. He's restraint, he's mystery, he's the center rock. And finally we can understand who he really is! I just hope that he can survive the coming storm in Kit's world!
