He and his wife, Edith, founded L'Abri Fellowship international study and discipleship centers. Schaeffer passed away in 1984, but his influence and legacy continue worldwide.

This book is a wonderful way for Christians to learn about how there can be so much pain and suffering in the world with a good and loving God. I had to read it for a class but I absolutely want to read it again. It's not light reading because it hurts sometimes but it is so good!
