Not everything was as it seemed.Miranda I thought Henry Walsh wasn’t like the other rich upper classmen. He had a heart, was kind and made my heart beat faster. Then Victoria happened. He was hers; I was trash, and she made my life hell. One crazy evening after school changed the course of our lives, and he crushed me. He chose her over me and showed me he was just like all of his friends. Jerk.
Henry Miranda Walker reminded me of a doll. She was quiet and kind and the opposite of my unwanted girlfriend, Victoria. My plans were to break up with Victoria, go to school, and live my life on my terms. Life threw me a curveball, making me a dad. Then a car accident made me a widowed dad. Women were the farthest thing from my mind until I saw the beautiful redhead herding geese out of my backyard. My beautiful doll was all grown up, and fate brought her back into my life.

I'm going to keep this short and sweet, this book had a lot going for it, some places it was messy, characters dropped in and I'm thinking ok who are you, well that character came out of nowhere, errors (words missing) crazy jumps in the storyline which just came out of the blue which lost my attention having to scroll back and see how many years had jumped etc.
I feel that it just needed a wee bit more editing and this rating would've been higher, because the storyline was good, unique, the characters were relatable and sometimes likeable, the angst was up there, this was a new to me author and I'll definitely try something else by her because this book did have potential, just a wee bit too messy for me.
This was about Miranda and Henry. She had a crush on him throughout middle school. One day she was at a treehouse and Henry showed up. They talked for a while and got to know each other better. He liked her as well. But his mother had other plans for him. She made him date Victoria. He didn’t want to but she told him if he left Miranda alone she would not do anything to her anymore. She lied. She never left her alone. Miranda wanted a new start so she moved with her friend Jo who was pregnant. He broke up with Victoria at the senior bash on the last day of school. She wasn’t happy about it so she went to her parents who went to his mother. She was pregnant but he didn’t know how that was possible. He was always careful. He was raising the child Dillon when he and Victoria got into it. He left with the baby because he didn’t want to leave the baby with her because he came home from work to find the baby alone strapped into his high chair. Everything changed after that. I loved how this all played out.
I've never read anything by Ivy Penn before, this was my first time reading one of her books and I will definitely be reading more of her work.
I really enjoyed this.
I liked that we started the book practically at the beginning of Miranda and Henry's relationship. While their childish ways in the beginning were quite frustrating, we have to remember they were literally still growing up and finding their own ways in the world in those early stages and yes, their communication sucked with eachother but as they grew and matured and went through some pretty life altering things, they got better and you could tell that they were meant to be. There was no point fighting the attraction and love they had for eachother anymore because they were no longer kids and there weren't obstacles and crappy people keeping them apart.
They became a family with Dillon and Charlie and it was beautiful and messy like the real-world can be.
I absolutely adored the children in this, they were so cute and absolutely loved eachother before they even found out they were related. They blended their families beautifully. The goats in this were hilarious and I died of laughter.
I loved how protective Miranda's grandfather was of her and how Henry's dad got sober for him because he needed him for that next stage.
This book was wholesome and beautiful and messy. It depicted what could happen in the real world with some people.
I'm so glad they got their happy ending! 😍
While this book is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone.

These two met in school unusual paring she from the wrong side of the tracks and him well he came from money. Miranda assumed he was just like most of the rich kids in her school treating those lower or they felt was lower than their status badly but he proved her wrong or so she thought. Miranda and Henry were good friends until they allowed someone with bad intentions to come between them. Their relationship was derailed but they never forgot one another even though their lives went down different paths. Henry ended up marrying a horrid woman she made his life a living he** causing all kinds of issues, she got him by becoming pregnant with his child his current girlfriend who allowed her jealousy to rule her nastiness towards others, but one accident left him a widow/single dad finally a little peace but never fulfillment or true happiness and often his thoughts drifted back to his friend. Until the day he saw her all grown up no longer the girl he went to school with, but she sees him as the jerk he was in school despite everything he has been through or the years that were between them the attraction was still there and no one to tell them what they should or shouldn’t do or who they should or shouldn’t be with but will she give him a second chance, is she even willing to take another chance on him after his treatment, will she listen to what he has to say or even try to understand any of it, will they be able to get past their unresolved issues, and is this their second chance at happiness?
My heart hurt a lot with this one. Both Miranda and Henry grew up having lived through so much pain that my chest would start to hurt when it was time to continue reading about them. It wasn’t fun, yet the need to known if they were going to come out the other side better was strong. They had too. They, maybe not Henry at some parts 😡, deserved happiness.
First, the goats. Stop right now. That’s all that was needed for me to be interested in picking this up. Who doesn’t want a goat that messes with people or falls over when it gets scared? That is fantabulous.
When it comes to Miranda and Henry, my emotions were so mixed. They shouldn’t be together, yet they needed to be. It was infuriating in the beginning how the two were. You wanted to shake them just to make them listen to reason. Then they grew up. Dude. My not so silent coaching to them through my Kindle to play nice while they worked it out earned me some stares at Starbucks and the playground while reading this.
Whatever. Judge all you want people. It will not stop me from talking to my books.
When they worked it out, swoon. 🥰 Miranda and Henry together is almost as good Oreos and milk. Don’t even get me started on Dillon and Charlie. Their ropes! Oh good lord. My heart was so happy.
There was a lot left out and some jumping around, but overall not bad.
Cheating = H and h got together while H was with OW. h was 15/16 and H was 17/18, so not a big fan of teen romance and acting like they are adults and able to handle adult issues.
F-Preg = the encounter in the hayloft between H and h left the h pregnant. When the h told the H, he assumed she was talking about the OW who was also pregnant and told the h he did not want the baby (in reference to OW NOT the h who he had no clue was pregnant).
Grovel = H said several things at different times to the h (like after the hayloft "I got what I needed from you" and when told by the h about the pregnancy H assumed it was OW's pregnancy and told h he didn't want it) that he needed to make up for. H also needed to grovel for being such a weak ass when putting up with the way the OW and the H's mom treated the h....but he never really did anything to stop it.
WEAK, weak, weak H and even into adulthood he wimped out a lot. It was annoying. I did like the h, but for most of the book it seemed like she was more of a secondary character with more of the focus on the H.
Doubt this will be a book I go back to read, but it was ok.

Henry and Miranda’s story is a tad twisty and complicated, but it is also emotional and engaging. Is Henry a bully or a friend? Does he like Miranda or is he simply playing her? Miranda doesn’t know what to think, but it hardly seems to matter when Henry finds himself married to a woman he doesn’t love but must tolerate for the sake of the child on the way. His mother and Victoria seem to live to make him miserable. After the death of his wife, Henry finds himself to be a single father and Fate brings the person he can’t forget back into his life…Miranda. Time and circumstances have changed them both. She is definitely come into her own, more confident and capable of standing up for herself. The attraction is still very much there between them, but will she let her guards down and trust him with her heart again? Henry certainly hopes so, but there is a lot of emotional baggage to deal with before they can move forward.
I loved the push and pull aspect of their relationship, their red-hot chemistry and the connection between them when they finally take the leap forward together. I must admit that I loved the scene where Miranda puts his mother in her place. I am happy to recommend this fascinating book.
Overall I did enjoy the story. However, there are a good number of mistakes in the book. And the biggest one, I'd say, would have to be when a few paragraphs from (if I'm remembering correctly) chapter 9 is written word for word in chapter 10! I actually thought I somehow jumped back to the previous chapter accidentally, but nope! Completely threw me off.
There are so many dang characters that I couldn't keep most of the people straight as well. Then you have shortened nicknames for some people, making it even worse. And when Miranda is name is shortened to Ran, the author didn't even capitalize the name. So at first I didn't even realize it was a name and was completely confused.
As weird as it may sound, there were too many females with a name starting with V too. Victoria was the mean girl of the story, but then you had Vivian and then Veronica. There might have even been one more for all I remember. And there was even a point where Veronica was referred to as Vic (like short for Victoria).
This was a really great read! The beginning I was a little confused with all the new names and nicknames that were popping up and I couldn't keep track of who was who, but the more I got into the story, the more I enjoyed it! I loved how Henry was in love with Miranda since they were in middle school and even though everything conspired to keep them apart, as adults they slowly found a way to make things work. I love Miranda standing up to Henry's mom and I love how she protects her boys especially after the abusive way she treated them. I'm so glad that Henry grew up and was able to stand up to his mom and have Miranda's back. I love his realizing that as a teen, he didn't protect Miranda the way that she deserved and moves to correct that mistake as an adult.

Blown away with another great book by Ivy Penn! I am in love her writing style. If a book can make me feel so many emotions and make me cry, I’m a forever fan. This is a bully romance and a second chance romance with many downs and the best ups. And the spice was so delicious! I felt like I was one of Miranda’s best friends helping her through her journey. Just wish I could physically punch Henry’s high school girlfriend and his mother! I wanted to throw the book against the wall many times! I know this book is a stand alone but I would definitely recommend reading the first book, Indecent Intent, before this one. There is so much of the story line from the first book that is included in this one and I love that it felt like a continuation of all the character stories that I didn’t miss anything!
Was blown away by this story! These characters had a way of killing a reader in and going through so many emotions. Miranda and Henry were so different but formed such a friendship in high school, she was from poor side of town, he was from the rich. But there was still an undeniable attraction. Until someone interfered and claimed Henry as their own in a deceitful way. But now some time has passed and he is a widower and single dad when he sees Miranda again. But Miranda is no longer the shy girl he remembers. Will she give him a chance to explain his actions from before?.

Twisted Truths is book two of the Port Stella Series.
I devoured this one. I was so excited to delve right into this one after I finished the first book. It did not disappoint.
Henry and Miranda just didn't have timing on their side. There were a lot of people in his life that wanted to manipulate him into doing and being who he didn't want to be. I really felt bad for both of them because they lost so much time because others couldn't admit defeat. However, once we finally get to see them reunited, it is everything you could hope for.
This was everything I hoped it would be and more. This series is quickly becoming the highly recommended one of the year so far.
Twisted Truths ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ivy Penn Henry and Miranda Henry comes from a wealthy family who has liked Miranda since they were little. Miranda comes from a working family who live on a farm and loves Henry. This is a high school bully story where Henry is at odds with his parents who have huge influence on his decisions. Victoria is Miranda’s arch nemesis and the girl that Henry’s parents feel should be Henry’s wife for the future. Will Henry and Miranda be able to be with each other or will Henry be forced to be with Victoria and let the parents win? Great story and I felt every emotion that she went through and heartache. Cannot wait to read what’s next!
This touching story had my emotions all over the place. Miranda and Henry were school friends who connected but because of a bully, things went sideways. Instead of getting the woman of his dreams Henry ended up with a monster and as a result his life was a mess. Things changed when he became a widower and Miranda came back into the picture, but she had a secret that will change Henry once again. Will these two get their chance for happiness in the long run.

Henry has had a thing for Miranda since middle school, but rival Victoria always stood in the way. Henry is a rich boy, and Miranda lives on a farm so she has less money. Henry's mother is another obstacle as she believes Miranda is below her son's station.
With angst that spans a decade, will these two ever realize the depth of feeling they have for each other?
This was cute, a story I enjoyed very much. The characters were vivid, although there was a lot of "throwing back their head and laughing" which pulled me out of an otherwise engaging story. I want to read more by this author.
I loved this! I loved this! I LOVED THIS! Ya know how ya just kinda need a romance book that has you feeling all the feelings and then you cry a lil? This was that book. I want to live in Port Stella. Even if the water causes strange things to happen. 😉
This is a story about missed feelings, secrets and the ultimate love everyone dreams of. I am so happy for Miranda and Henry. I love that they fought for their happy ending and I hope they’re still mentioned in the next book. Which I cannot wait to read.
What can I say but I am obsessed with Ivy Penn and her stories! Here is another emotional roller coaster in Port Stella's history that'll leave you in shambles. This one had so many twists and turns, ups and downs, but each one will elicit a new emotion that will leave you waiting for your next dose of drama. There are so many obstacles standing in their way spanning over a decade that makes the HEA for Miranda and Henry that much more exultant. I have never wanted to punch someone through a book so hard before, but this was it! I'm warning you, Victoria! 😤😡🤬
what a book, I loved reading every minute of it. It's such an emotional journey it takes you on. It will have you on the edge of your seat. I couldn't put it down once I picked it up. I was captivated from the start. The are so wrong for each other but so fucking right aswell. There's a certain bitch I would love to slap the shit out off for wasting so many freaking years. IYKYK!!!
It's filled with heartbreak, forced love, drama, action, second chances, spice, angst , suspense and loads more.
They both have been through so much, at the hands of others , things and time being ripped away. But stuff happens and he's free and then fate puts the one woman he loved on his path again. Will he and Miranda get there happy ending now?
Read the book and find out. It's definitely a must read. Highly recommend!!!
Communication is so important, it doesn't matter your age, if you don't talk there can be so many unresolved issues. Ivy shows her readers how important it is in this story. She brings us great characters, growth, bullies to be confronted, and love. I love a well deserved HEA. Also the snippet for her next book. It's going to be a doozy.
Twisted Truths by Ivy Penn This was not a favorite for me. Ignoring the cheating, which I wouldn’t penalize for, there was A LOT of OW drama. Then, the “bad guy” characters seemed very much like cardboard cutouts to me. Other people might like this book, but I’m not one of them.
The story was cute. But there were So. Many. Characters. I couldn’t keep up with people just appearing at all times throughout the book. And next to no context introducing these characters. I quit trying to figure out who everyone was and finished reading for the story. I liked the ending. There were lots of editing errors too.
