Gruesome Fairy Tales Book 4 - Wolf. Part two of Red Riding Hood.
This book is about Evie, the character in book 3 of the Gruesome Fairytales series. It tells the story of her childhood (ages 13 to 16), when she was kidnapped and what changed her from being an innocent child to the hard vigilante killer she turns into. This book is disturbing, it includes scenes of kidnapping, torture, sexual abuse and death. For a full list of trigger warnings, please visit my website www.AnnaleeAdams.biz
Annalee Adams lives in England with her Husband, two children and a zoo worth of animals. She loves a good strong cup of tea or coffee, plenty of chocolate and binge watching her shows on Netflix.
Annalee began The Celestial Rose series while at University. She spent much of her childhood engrossed in fictional stories. Starting with teenage point horror books and moving up to the works of Stephen King and Dean Koontz. However, her all-time favourite book is Lewis Carroll's, Alice in Wonderland. Which explains her mindset quite well.

I read this as the final part of the Gruesome Fairytales book which I received from a monthly book box. The story is a prequel to the short, Red. It explains the backstory of Red, or Evie, as she was taken and held captive for years by the “wolf” and his sons/ family, used and abused for the pleasure of the brothers and their clients. The story is brutal, it doesn’t hold back on highlighting the abuse that these young girls faced being held by the brothers, it is sickening and horrifying to think about whilst reading as these are situations that could very well happen in real life. The story, all be it Gruesome, as in the title, is very well written and ties in perfectly with Red.
Annalee is an amazing author and I can’t wait to hear what she comes up with next in Cinders!!
A haunting and harrowing account of Red's life. It only enforced my opinion that Red was justified in the previous book. A detailed and diabolical tale indeed.
Evie, a thirteen-year-old girl, is ripped from her life and told she now belongs to her captors. She is one of a small group of young girls who have been taken, their fates unknown. These girls are the prey in a twisted hunting game, enjoyed by men who find pleasure in their suffering.
The men who took her are brothers, and their father, who protects Evie in his own depraved way, calls her his "babydoll" and demands she call him "daddy." The entire family delights in the suffering and pain they inflict on these young girls. Beneath their mansion, a labyrinth of tunnels hides the evidence of their horrific crimes. These secret passages hold the silent screams of the innocent and the unspeakable pain they endured. Some girls are abused, flayed, and sold to the highest bidder, if they even survive that long. The girls find solace only in each other and the hope of escape. With every breath, they fight to stay alive, their shared suffering igniting a burning desire for revenge against the monsters who have stolen their childhoods. But the question remains: after such horrors, can they ever truly be free?
3.5 ⭐️ I think this one was the better written out of all 4 books in this series. There were some repeat phrases through the book that kinda irritated me, though. It was entertaining to read. I still think the story flow is kinda choppy. I think I also realize that I just DON'T, REALLY DON'T, like when the backstory is told after the main story. It throws me off of the story and somewhat confuses me. I was a little disappointed in the ending, but I don't want to spoil anything by saying why. Now, don't get me wrong, I didn't hate the story. It did have some interesting moments, and I did read through it fairly quickly when I was reading. I still would recommend these books mainly because they are quick reads and pretty easy to get through (especially if you read graphic things often and don't really have triggers) in my opinion.
Well, I’m shocked, that was an intense read! I could not put it down and ended up finishing it in the early hours of this morning! I don't think I will be able to get that moment with the face out of my mind for a while. It was good, how it kind of portrayed her life behind those bones. It was trapped, like she was. Messed up, but good! After reading Red, the book before this one, I was dying to know what happened next. But this gave me a story I didn't know I needed. It gave me the justification behind why she did what she did to the brothers, and boy didn't they deserve it and more! I'm hoping you bring out an after Red though, as I would love to know more about Daddy and what happened after he helped her out of her grave.
I knew this would be a 5 star read before I read it. The whole series has been!
This one is about Red from the previous book, it's the second part of her story. And wow this one is a doozy and I was very emotional during their one, especially in the beginning.
This was absolutely fantastic, I couldn't put it down. I couldn't read fast enough if I tried. The main character "Red"/ Evie was so brave and has so much courage and strength. My heart was beating so fast at times.
My heart was going at a million miles a minute through this book I just had to keep reading to know what happened next but then I had finished it which made me sad as I have now finished all Annalee Adams books so now have to wait for her to release more 😭
