Do you like to read before bed? Do you not want to stay up all night because you want to finish one last chapter? Well Tawny Weber's quick read, Rules Of Engagement is definitely a great read for before bedtime. (OK maybe slightly before bedtime, because it is pretty steamy)

Rico and Gina are opposites who have known each other for awhile, he's her bff's brother. He's a soldier and looking for a 50s kinda gal. Gina is anything but.

The fun part is how they click at the wedding, and how they really might have something, if they give it a go.

There's some spicy sex in the garden that is up to Tawny's Blaze standards.

If you are looking for a quick spicy...hot read. This is more than worth your time!

Very cute and sweet - Rico is a military man and wants a conventional, staid wife now that he's decided to settle down. His sister's bridesmaid and assistant, Gina, is entirely unsuitable, but he's constantly drawn to her. And the attraction is returned. Gina absolutely wants Rico, but she can't allow herself to be anything less than she is. So she knows their night together has to be it, because she'll never match up to the dream girl he's been picturing.

So, I like the whole "accept yourself for who you are" thing and Rico and Gina have a very sexy romp in a garden. Even their romance, although fast, is quite sweet. I didn't buy it that Gina really loved Rico, when she'd only ever talked to him a few times a year and they only ever really conveyed disapproval at one another. I also didn't care for Rico's getting all affronted at Gina thinking him shallow because he wanted only one "type" of woman to settle down with. She pegged him and he denied it. Then he just said he'd changed his mind. He was pretty shallow to start with. Still, it was a cute story and definitely an easy read. On the other hand though, there were a lot of little mistakes that should have been caught by an editor.

At a traditional Valentine's Day wedding two unlikely people are attracted to each other. Rico, a Navy Seal and Gino, his sisters assistant into Goth, are thinking the same thing about marriage, yet neither believes they are right for each other. Oh how wrong they are! The passion between this couple is nothing short of explosive... I would highly recommend this sexy novella. Ms. Weber is the absolute best at writing about Navy SEALs and the women they love.

A good quick read.

A well written story about two people attending a wedding who finally realise that they want the same thing and are brave enough to give it a go. I would have liked to see what happened after the wedding, especially how they coped with him being deployed for the first time, I'm sure she would have come up with some interesting ways to keep their live alive! 😉

Great read!

A sexy and fun short story! I loved Gina's quirky and unique attitude and Rico's possessiveness. Can't wait to read another Weber story.

Enjoyed it very much. Glad it wasn't your usual cat and mouse story. Makes me want to try this author again. Thanks.

Too quickly put together

Spoilers!!

Oy-- at a wedding?!?! No. just no. Taking that kind of risk of being caught at your sister's wedding?! No. then the I think I like him/her, have hot sex, then I've been. In love with you forever?! Sorry doesn't work for me. Opposites may attract but that doesn't mean they belong together.

In Rules of Engagement by Tawny Weber, Gina Meyers knows that no man wants anything permanent with her. She is different, more outspoken and in your face, but that doesn’t mean that she doesn’t want marriage and kids and the whole homes and white picket fence, even if her fence would not be white but different colors and different from the others. But that’s the way she is.

She understands hot sex, but since she has been crushing on Rico Santiago, her best friend’s brother for a long time now, she has been thinking about ever-after. Only she is nothing like the women he goes for. They are blonds, more demure and PTA mom material. While she would more likely want to home school her kids and teach them yoga.

Rico has what he calls his Rules of Engagement, which contain what he wants in a possible wife, and Gina doesn’t fit into that bill. But for some reason he likes her a lot. But he must keep his distance for not only is she not what he is looking for but is also his sister’s friend.

When Rico finds himself alone with Gina in the garden he will not be able to resist temptation much longer. And he decides to proposition her really hot sex with him there, outside and in the light of the moonlight. But maybe, just maybe what they agreed would be a one-time thing will not be enough for either of them.

This is a great, and really hot fast read that you can read it on a quick lunch break, but be sure to have a cold glass full of ice water, for you will need it. ;)

In this novella Tawny brings you a love story that will satisfy any afternoon delight.
In this Seal story we meet Rico, who is his sister's (Sophia) best man, while Gina is Sophia's maid of honor. Rico is a Seal, brought up to one day settle down with the right woman and a house with a picket fence as set out in his rules of engagement. Whereas Gina has a free spirit approach to life and doesn't think twice about it. Gina has been in love with Rico for years but knows she wasn't his type.

One challenge in the garden leads to a moment of passion for them both, but does this satisfy them both or fan the flames even more?

Does Rico really take a look at Gina or walks away as she doesn't fit in his rules of engagement?

5 Koala paws

Can be read as a standalone
Characters: Very detailed and developed
Heat: Spicy and Passionate

A Valentine's Day wedding is the setting for Tawny's newest release for tomorrow. I highly recommend this read. This is a short novella that can be read as a stand-a-lone book, and is very hot! Gina Mayes is the Maid of Honor and Rico Santiago is Best Man for his sister and close friend's wedding. Gina is way out there in left field (his sister, Sophia's, assistant at an art gallery. She has black and red hair, sassy, mouthy, smart, and very interesting to Rico. At one time she would have been called a Goth type woman. Rico is looking for a Betty Crocker type wife, but since he is interested in Gina, he finds her out in the garden and they make mad passionate love. The only problem is that Rico tells Gina it is a one time thing since he thinks that's what she wants to hear. After making love, one of the women that Rico had danced with and was exactly his type (in Gina's eyes) comes looking for Rico. Gina is hurt, and wants to get out of there as soon as possible, but eventually Rico makes her realize that he wants her in his bed and by his side, and wants to take a chance with her.

Tawny Weber is one of my favorite authors, especially her Seal stories. I enjoyed this novella, but always wish for more! Gina Mayes is the maid of honor for her good friend and boss, Sophia Santiago. Rico Santiago is Sophia's brother and the best man at his sister's wedding. Gina is a free spirit who has black hair with red in it. She could be known as a goth girl. She is not afraid to express herself and doesn't worry what others think. She has been in love with Rico for a few years, but has never let on. Rico is ready to settle down and has his "rules of engagement" set out for the perfect bride. He is looking for a beautiful blonde, busty, sophisticated, and someone who can go to PTA meetings. Gina is not his perfect match and she knows it, but she can still dream! Rico is the last in the family to be single. Carlos tells Rico that their wives have women picked out for him to look over at the wedding. Carlos thinks Gina is hot and wild and doesn't understand why Rico would not go for her. You need to read the book to see what happens. It was a good short read. I always look forward to more of Ms. Weber's books!

Rico's mission: get his sister married to a man he knows can take care of her and love her as she deserves: accomplished. Next mission: find his own wife, traditional, maternal, and one he can leave and deal with his career until he returns. Not Gina. His sister's partner in her erotic art gallery is hardly that woman. She's feisty—not acquiescent—wild hair, dress and attitude—not PTA normal—and hot as Hades—not sweet wifely. So why can't he take his eyes off of her at the wedding and reception? And what he sees in her eyes—she is not immune to him either.

In this short story, we get to reconnect with two favorite secondary characters from her wonderful SEAL books. You will see if Rico can get past his list of the perfect wife—Gina sure doesn't fit that list—if he can, can she take a chance on the man she's wanted but thought was out of her reach for two years? We will learn that they can make wonderful steam together—real steam. I do have one question for the author. Who found the little black treasure Gina lost?

A You-Gotta-Read-this recommend from me.

A wedding reception on Valentine's Day is the setting for this sweet and sexy novella featuring an unlikely couple. Ms. Weber's talent is such that she is able to paint well-defined characters in a modern-day fairy tale that is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. If you don't have much time, need a little romance to brighten up your day or you crave a little dessert with zero calories, don't hesitate to grab this quick read. A little delight that is not to be missed. There is a tiny problem though: it will leave you wanting for more ! This novella is a truffle of a read, sweet and light. And what a yummy cover !

This read is sweet, spicy, and satisfying, just like its heroine, Gina Mayes. She's self aware enough to know she's not cut out to be a Stepford wife, even if she's got a thing for Rico Santiago, the brother of her best friend and someone who just about screams "looking for gorgeous, traditional woman"... So she's not just surprised, she's stunned when Rico not only can't take his eyes off her at said friend's wedding, he seems ready to make a move on her. It has her wondering if she's dreaming. Or if he's really ready to take a chance on them.

Great short story by Ms. Weber. Has me itching to re-read Breaking the Rules, which features Gina's friend's story.

This is a short, but Sweet & Sexy novella starring Rico Santiago (brother of Sophia from Breaking the Rules) and Sophia's best friend and coworker Gina. The story stands alone on it's own, but if you've read Breaking the Rules, you'll really enjoy revisiting the ever quirky Gina and hot, hot, hot Rico. These two people shouldn't make any sense together because they're total opposites, but the unexplainable attraction to each other makes this sizzling read. Ms Weber sure knows how to get the blood pumping!!

Gina has had the hots for her best friends brother Rico. She knows she is not his type. She also knows she cannot change the way she feels. She has tried.

Rico, thought he wanted someone more proper. Thought that a more staid and calm woman was what he was after for the forever. Gina kind of surprised him. One touch and all bets were off.

This is just a sweet and sassy short story. The characters banter is great. The heat is amazing. Beware the sparks! They are a flyin'.

What a read!! Looking for hot Navy Seal romance with feeling? Tawny Weber's books are what you need. The characters are thoroughly fleshed out and engaging. The hot, sexy, scenes will make you sweat. Rocco, like any typical male, thinks he knows what he wants in a woman. He finds out how wrong he was. Gina has a wild style but all she wants is to be loved and have a family. Can the two come together? A must read!

I was given this e-book by the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. My conclusions are my own. I was not compensated in any way.

This is a short novella. Navy Seal Rico Santiago is attending his sister’s wedding (Her book is Breaking The Rules). He knows exactly what he wants in a woman and Gina is not it. She is outspoken and Goth like. When at the wedding he decides the attraction is to mush to keep fighting they come together. Can he change his plan for the future and try a relationship with Gina or it this a one-time thing?

It's a hot little read. It's perfect for a lunch break, but make sure you have a cold drink to cool you off. Trust me you'll need it. This comes out just in time for Valentine's day. Rico has this idea in his head of the prefect wife, but Gina is going to smash that illusion into pieces. Gina isn't what people would call normal. She's just herself, but it sometimes turns people off. Will Rico open his eyes to what's right in front of him or will he let Gina slip through his sexy SEAL hands.

This is a short sexy novella. The main characters are Rico a Navy Seal and Gina, this is a follow up story from Breaking the Rules. I love the heat between Rico and Gina, and can't wait to read more of their story. This may be a short story but it is a great and definitely leaves you wanting a lot more!

Rules of Engagement is definitely a fast fun story. I love that Gina is unique and won't settle for being cookie cutter. Of course Rico thinks she's attractive but she doesn't fit his " rules of engagement" that he has set out. But we all know how things can seem perfect on paper but a relationship needs that spark and boy do these two have sparks flying all over the place! I enjoyed this short story and if your looking for a quick, fun, flirty read then I think you just might enjoy it too.

Loved this incredible short story. Perfect lunchtime read. Rico thought he knew exactly what kind of woman he wanted to settle down with but the heart wants what the heart wants and Gina is what his heart wants! The only bad thing about this book is it was too short! I want more Rico and Gina. Highly recommended.

This is a short, sexy read. Rico is attending his sister's wedding, which happens to be on Valentine's Day. Gina is his sister's best friend and co-worker. Gina has been harboring a secret desire for Rico. Rico is on a mission to find his perfect wife. Rico never consciously considered Gina as wife material, but then things heat up between them after the wedding ceremony. Definitely a must-read!!

Very short story

This was a really fast read. It was interesting, but it ended so quickly, I just felt frustrated. Rico and Gina had real chemistry. I wanted so much more. I wanted to know more about Gina, their relationships with other people, what happened after Valentine's Day, etc.

It just wasn't enough.
