Freshly divorced mom Jeanie Benton has one thing on her mind: get to Miami Beach, bust up her ex’s wedding, and win back the groom. She’s determined to mend her broken family at any cost.
Her evil plan falls into place when she meets hunky Nathan Wolf. He’s the epically immoral, wanna-be life coach she never knew she needed. The two strike a deal. If she becomes his first client, he’ll make her ex jealous by pretending to be her younger boyfriend.
Nathan Wolf isn’t the aspiring life coach Jeanie believes. His day job is a little more provocative. Nor is he the same eighteen-year-old nerd who worked at Jeanie and her ex-husband’s Chicago hot dog stand over a decade ago. She doesn’t remember Nathan, but he remembers her—vividly. He’s held a MILF torch for her since, which makes their new arrangement a dream come true. This close, Nathan can angle for one hot night between Jeanie’s legs, while also exacting revenge on her ex for firing him.
Under Nathan’s diabolical tutelage, Jeanie befriends the annoyingly sweet bride, who happens to be her childhood nemesis. But weaseling her way into the role of Mayhem of Honor to systematically sabotage the wedding is harder than expected, especially with a suspicious ex.
As their wedding-wrecking love charade continues, Jeanie discovers there’s more to Nathan than being a devilish sidekick. He has angelic intentions too, from encouraging her awkward kid to showing her what it’s like to have an engaged partner. Nathan becomes her ride-or-die, rather than a ride-and-run-away like her ex.
If Jeanie’s not careful, Nathan’s special form of “life coaching” will steal her heart instead of a wavering groom.
🇺🇸 I found Weddings, Revenge, and Fake Dating to be quite cringe-worthy overall. The writing style felt awkward and didn’t flow well, which made it difficult to get fully immersed in the story. Several scenes struck me as completely ridiculous and over-the-top, although I must admit that some moments were genuinely funny and elicited a few laughs.
One of the book’s strengths was the spice scenes, which were well-executed and added a level of excitement. However, the story as a whole reminded me too much of a very cheesy Hollywood comedy, with exaggerated situations and character reactions that felt too contrived and unrealistic.
While some readers might enjoy the light-hearted, comedic approach, it was ultimately too much for my taste. The combination of cringe-worthy moments, a strange writing style, and over-the-top scenes overshadowed the book’s enjoyable aspects for me.
—————————————————-
+ Fake Dating + Age Gap + Rom Com Feels + He falls first + Wedding Crashers + Tropical Location
Jeanie is determined to crash her ex husband’s tropical destination wedding and steal the groom. After a sexy run in with a stranger in the elevator she hatches a plan to use this handsome man as her fake boyfriend to make her ex jealous. Little does she know, Nathan Wolf is fully aware of who she is and he has always harbored a crush on her. When Jeanie accidentally becomes the maid of honor to in the wedding, she decides to use her new in to sabotage from within. Jeanie and Nathan, our sexy agents of chaos, are in for the ride of a lifetime on their mission to derail this wedding. What started out as a plot for revenge, may just give Jeanie everything she never knew she needed.
This book had me hooked from the beginning. The chemistry, the funny chapter titles, the heart warming moments, steamy scenes, and totally fun rom com feels! I loved the chaos and comedy that was this book!
This was the most fun I’ve had reading in awhile! I laughed out loud starting from the first few pages of the book and continued laughing at many other parts of the book. The FMC Jeanie is so full of life and I loved watching her figure out what she wanted in life with the help of the MMC Nathan (who is younger than her, sexy, dreamy and falls first!) and her mother. And I loved the amount of spice in this book. A big shout out to this debut author for promoting her book so heavily on Instagram. It made me want to read it!
This book was so easy to get hooked on, and I love a good rom com and with delicious spice!
This book had me cringing, giggling like a school girl and my goodness, was the MMC hot🔥
Our FMC at first made me so irritated with her motives but I had a whole lot of fun along her journey to self discovery.
The story was definitely on the hot, fluffy-fun side, a feel good story that didn’t have angst or any real lows. So if you want a book just to make you happy and read like classic romance com film with real good spice, you will love this.
The writing was simple but gripping, and it didn’t repeat phrases like some writers can fall trap to. I could picture it perfectly in my brain and I was highly entertained. Bonus - there is a 90s nostalgia playlist 🎶🎤
This book is AH-MAZING. 🦩 I absolutely loved the banter back and forth. I don’t think I’ve laughed while reading a book until this fantastic book. There was a lot I didn’t expect to happen but it was the perfect rom-com book! I highly recommend this book to everyone!!

Tropes: Reverse age gap He Falls First Fake Dating Family Drama Wedding Crashers Secret Identity Found Family/Friends Rom Com Movie Vibes single mom 2 POVs
Weddings, Revenge, & Fake Dating is probably the funniest book I've read this year so far! I'm not kidding. I straight up BELLY LAUGHED from the very first sentence to the end. I've told everyone I know about this book. I enjoyed it that much. It's too funny, and the perfect summer read, to pass up! I mean, the book opens talking about waking up next to a blow up s.e.x. doll.... You can only imagine where this story goes after that! ;)
WR&FD follows the POVs of Jeanie and Nathan. Jeanie is a mid-30s, recently divorce, single mom who's ex-husband is getting remarried in Miami Beach. And not just remarried to a random woman, it's Jeanie's "little ex-step sister" who she despised growing up. Jeanie has decided she's going to ruin the wedding and get her ex-husband back.
Nathan is a famous...... Magic Mike connoisseur. Okay, he's a stripper. But he's Magic Mike level stripper! He even has his own merchandise! Nathan's in town for a big show when he runs into Jeanie and her mango milkshake in the hotel elevator. He's immediately attracted to her and is more than willing to go along with her crazy wedding crashing plot.
The hilarity that ensues is great. Plus, the side characters like Mama Betty (Jeanie's mom) just take the story over the top with her cougar ways. And then there's Dex and Freddie- Jeanie's son and his best friend who is a pervy 15 yr old, a coffin, and more of those mango milkshakes that will leave you breathless and side hurting from laughing!
I definitely recommend this one as your next summer read!
Okay I really hope someone picks this up and makes it into a movie because it’s soo freaking hilarious and cute!!
From the moment you start the book it has you cracking up and the whole awkward encounter has you feeling really embarrassed for Jeanie!
Doesn’t help that Nathan seems to be enjoying it and making more comments I freaking died of laughter 💀💀😂😂
Poor Jeanie is going through a divorce and she tries sabotaging the wedding ..
Honestly this is a must read book!
Nathan was perfect for Jeanie! I loved how Nathan was always there for her and how he brought this other side of her that’s been missing for a long while!
& Jeanie I loved her & her awkwardness and how she was learning things about herself while being alone and with Nathan 🫶🏻🫶🏻
I loved how she became a sister to Sophia and got all defensive about her, I also loved the relationship between her son and her mom. (Which btw her mom is something else😂😂)
I honestly can’t wait for the second book!!
Do yourself a favor and def add this one for your next read or add it to your tbr!
This book immediately had me hooked, the way Rebel Warren writes is so addictive, and down right hilarious. These characters kept me laughing the entire time!
Jeanie attempts to crash her ex husbands wedding, and before long finds herself in a fake dating situation. Nathan has always been infatuated with Jeanie even if she didn’t know who he was. These two have CRAZY chemistry, and it’s not long before fake blurs into real feelings.
If you want a hilarious, SPICY, witty romance this has all that and more!
I love a book that can make me laugh out loud, snigger to myself and have me rooting for the heroine to take off her blinkers and have fun with the gorgeous hunk that is Nathan! Jeanie is crazy, in the very best way. Determined to win back her ex, protect her son, roll her eyes at her mother's antics and bring her family back together, she creates delightful mayhem. Her nemesis, and step sister, Sophia, is the prospective bride, though, all through you will be forgiven for thinking..Why? He's a toad! Nathan is fun, cheeky, determined and hot! There is some imaginative spice going on here, so keep your fan handy. I loved the way in which humour mixes with heat, with growing awareness of alternatives and with burgeoning friendships. This book is a terrific debut and I am definitely looking forward to the next one! 💖💖💖💖💖
I definitely needed this book in my life after having not one but two DNFs. It is reminiscent of a raunchy 90s romcom with all boundaries being toppled over one by one with the turn of each page. The grandma was completely unhinged and I was here for that. Lol.
Spice is good. I'd say 🌶️🌶️🌶️ moderate/high level.
And I do think the spice was necessary for this book. Nathan and Jeanie connected mostly on a sexual level. However, Nathan was super sweet and did treat her well. He showed respect, kindness and patience. Which are the three qualities you want in a fictional boyfriend 😉
Overall super fun read. I enjoyed it. The pace was quick. I read it in two days.
Alright, folks, buckle up for a wild ride because Weddings, Revenge & Fake Dating by Rebel Warren is the rom-com rollercoaster you didn't know you needed! Picture this: I'm scrolling through Instagram, minding my own business, when BAM! I get smacked in the face with all these aesthetic posts about this new book. It was like a blast from the past, dripping with 90s and early 2000s nostalgia. I was instantly hooked and knew I had to dive in.
From the very first paragraph, I was giggling like a kid who just discovered their first meme. Ready to plunge headfirst into this hilarity? Imagine a world where disco lights, a beef mobile, mango smoothies, s3x dolls/toys, and a sexy wolf theme all coexist in perfect harmony. It's as glorious and chaotic as it sounds. If you're into that sort of madness (and who isn't?), then trust me, this book is your next rom-com obsession!
Let's break this down: Weddings, Revenge & Fake Dating is like the love child of a soap opera and a comedy show, and it's glorious! We've got Jeanie and Nathan as our main duo, surrounded by a parade of secondary characters you'll love and hate in equal measure.
So here's the scoop: Jeanie and Roman were high school sweethearts, got hitched, had a teenage son named Dex, and then called it quits two years ago. Now, Roman's all set to tie the knot again in Miami, FL. Enter Nathan, the young hottie who used to sling Italian beef at Jeanie and Roman's Chicago joint back in the day. He's harbored a grudge against Roman for being a colossal jerk and has always had a secret crush on Jeanie, his ultimate dream woman.
In a plot twist worthy of reality TV, Jeanie drunkenly decides to follow Roman to Miami as his wedding day looms. Let me tell you, the whole intro is an awkward, cringe-filled masterpiece that you can't look away from—think train wreck, but in the best way possible. I swear, I read the first few chapters with my cheeks burning from second-hand embarrassment for Jeanie. It's hilariously funny, and you'll be hooked from the get-go!
Just imagine this: Jeanie, in hot pursuit of Roman across a hotel, ends up in an elevator wearing nothing but her underwear and a towel that's doing the bare minimum. And who should she awkwardly run into? Nathan. But hold on, she doesn’t recognize him because he’s no longer the gangly teenager who used to work for them. Nope, he's had a major glow-up and is now a certified hottie.
So, Jeanie and Nathan cook up a hilariously desperate plan to fake date and make Roman green with envy, all so Jeanie can win him back from her pseudo step-sister, Sophia. Wait, did I forget to mention Sophia earlier? Oops, surprise twist! This wild ride is filled with more twists and turns than a soap opera marathon, and it's just as entertaining!
Okay, here's the lowdown: the pacing of this book is spot-on, making it a breeze to read. Even though the story unfolds over a short period while Jeanie tries to win Roman back, you get to relish every cringe-worthy, awkward moment in vivid detail. And trust me, there are plenty of "not-awkward" moments too, if you catch my drift, and those are equally well-described.
The narrative bounces between Jeanie and Nathan's points of view, and it's all happening in real-time. While they do have some internal monologues about past events, the POV stays firmly in the present, keeping things fresh and engaging.
Now, my initial notes from the start of the book sum it up pretty well: - Poor Jeanie. - Screw Roman. - More Nathan, please! - Sophia deserves a punch in the mouth. - Still on the fence about Jeanie’s mom.
Alright, so some of my initial thoughts did a 180 as I powered through the book.
First off, let's talk about Jeanie’s mom. OMG, I adore her! She's like a blend of Blanche and Sofia from the Golden Girls, with a splash of Suzanne Sugarbaker from Designing Women. Picture this: Blanche’s fun-loving, spontaneous vibes, Sofia’s deep-rooted family connections, and Suzanne’s "let's hustle some new 'business'" attitude—and by "business," I mean new men. 😉 This woman is a cougar on the prowl, and her family knows it, even if they don’t spell it out…but they do 🤣
Then there's Sophia. I was all set to hate her guts, but the more I read, the harder it got to keep up the loathing. It started feeling forced, and I eventually had to admit she’s had a pretty rough go of it. Jeanie was one of those people who made her life tough as a kid. But despite that, Sophia still cares for Jeanie like a sister, even looking out for her at her own wedding. She’s a trooper, and just when I thought she’d let herself be a doormat, she pulls out a backbone I didn’t even know she had. Respect.
I was seriously scratching my head trying to sum up Nathan’s growing love and adoration for Jeanie in this book. “Love and adoration” just didn’t cut it; there’s so much more to it! Rebel's writing hit me right in the feels, especially when it came to Nathan's perspective. He might be younger than Jeanie, but he’s got the maturity and confidence of a seasoned pro.
Now, here’s the kicker: the author hinted at a cheating theme from the get-go, and let me tell you, I had some serious reservations from recent personal experience. But once I got swept up in Nathan’s character, I was on pins and needles about how this theme would play out. No spoilers, but I made it through unscathed and totally dug the way things wrapped up!
This book is a wild ride—funny, spicy, and full of chaos. You’re kept guessing at every turn, and when the secrets spill, get ready for some serious giggle fits! Redemption arcs pop up left and right, and while they might not unfold as I expected, the outcomes were even better than I hoped for. If rom-coms are your jam, this book is a must-read for a good laugh!

Life’s a beach as Roman discovers and he let a good one go but alas it’s too late because Nathan? He got his revenge and himself a new mate. Or should I say she Wolf. She’s a bit of a goer and their sexual encounters? Just hear her roar..yes you know the score! Phew Rebel Warren a fun read indeed with lots of innuendo as well as the real thing deal a very well written story that makes your heart sing! Full of zeal. Awesome characters both funny and sweet and super hot chemistry that cant be beat . The heat ! ❤️🔥hmmm… and phwoar! And… find yourself celebrating she’s found the right partner because if she’d had her way she’d have ended up with the BORE! 🥺 All I can say is a darn good book with great descriptions you can’t ignore…if you don’t believe ME go take a look for yourself. Best hurry , as I’m betting it flies off the top shelf…. I’m leaving my review voluntarily in my own words.
Rebel has written a book that was beyond enjoyable to read. From page one I was laughing, gasping, and having a good time! The way she opens this story has so many questions being asked, but all are revealed in due time, while maintaining the rom-com vibes that leaves you wanting more.
Jeanie has decided to crash her ex-husbands wedding, in the hopes of winning him back. She wants her old life back, because honestly, that is all she knows. She’s not ready to step outside of that comfort zone. However, she is pushed out of it when she wakes up hung over, not remembering a thing from the night before, and has to roam the hotel in nothing but mango underwear and a towel. Which she can’t seem to keep snug around her and it keeps falling off…in front of the hottest man she has ever seen.
Nathan is staying in the same hotel as Jeanie for his job and comes face to…a…uh…face, yeah we’ll say face with Jeanie in the elevator. He remembers her from his college days and hates her husband. But why is Jeanie here? When he finds out they are no longer together, he decides to take the chance he couldn’t all those years ago. What better way to get revenge on an old boss then take his ex-wife to bed and show her a night she’ll never forget!?
As they concoct their fake dating scheme to break the bride and groom apart, their feelings begin to twist and turn into something so much more. Nathan really sees Jeanie for who she really is and never lets her forget how amazing she is. He is accepting of her son and even gets along with her mother (a true cougar if I’ve ever read one). Yeah the whole family is all in the same hotel! Even more so, Nathan makes Jeanie feel things her ex-husband never did!
Beyond the fake dating, Rebel writes a beautiful mother/daughter, mother/son, and pseudo sister relationships throughout this book. There is passion, there is spice, but there are layers and depth beyond your standard rom-com. Jeanie and Sophia’s relationship goes from “we aren’t sisters” to “you are my sister and no one hurts you”, written with such credibility, you can feel the love grow between them. I also can’t wait to read Sophia’s story!
Add on a very thorough blow up doll (replicated after our MMC), a career that gives Magic Mike a run for his money, and mango milkshakes, this book is a rom-com movie in the making! Rebel has delivered an amazing debut novel that has set herself apart as an author. Writing a story that gives us equal parts spice, passion, depth, and maintaining realistic; but staying true to the rom-com undertones and allowing us to laugh and cry all at the same time, is nothing short of amazing!
As always review trigger warnings before reading.

This is first in this series and it was a great romcom. Fake relationship, one bed, reverse age gap and hot spice is your kind of thing then this is for you. I loved Nathan from the start his confident and amusing character was great. Jeanie was a hot mess, quirky and insecure. She is a plus size, curvy heroine and I loved how Nathan loved her for it. She has turned up to holiday beach to stop her ex from marrying her nemesis and win him back. Their meet cute was so funny. Not only does she flash Nathan with her milkshakes, she flashes her backside as she walks away unknowingly. Nathan can't believe the woman that he had his first crush on and the woman that inspired him to date older women was in front of him. Now she is even more delectable. When she accidentally gets him to be her fake boyfriend to win her ex back, she wasn't prepared to see the reality of things. She will get her ex and Nathan is determined to win her just for one night so he can finally live his dream. Nathan is a famous stripper but she knows him as a new motivational life coach, this is exactly what she needs. As we meet Roman her ex I was baffled at Jeanie. How can she want such descipable man. He is just awful. She sees it but struggles to acknowledge it. I did understand as time went on, he was all she knew from age 15. 20 years together she is dependable on the thought of whole family. Her son was so mature for his 15 year old age. His friend is so funny and Jeanie's mum is uncontrollable with her inappropriate behaviour 🤣. Lots of shocking revelations, self growth, drama, saucy dancing, hilarious moments, family, love and spice. I would love to know more about Sophia next.
“Jeanie, in all seriousness, if you saw what I’m looking at right now, you’d know it was me who got the better deal.”
“You’re the most beautiful woman I’ve ever met, and if you were mine, I’d never let you go.”
“I think we broke the bed,” I say. She giggles. “I think you broke my back. I might need an Advil.”
After reading the first 2/3 chapters, I really was not sure that this book was going to be for me. But I read on and pretty quickly fell in love with this book hook line and sinker. Jeanie (FMC) it was easy to tell was wearing rose tinted glasses and just couldn't see what everyone else saw. Seriously I just wanted to yell at her to put on her big girl panties. Nathan (MMC), now here was seriously cool guy who just ooozessss with sex appeal, but his heart is not just in his pants but where it should be and was just a really nice, cool guy.
The revenge side of this plot, was laughable. Jeanie's ex husband, who she wants back, is marrying her step sister Sophia. Then Jeanie becomes Sophia's best friend and maid of honour? This clearly wasn't going to go down the way Jeanie expected, especially when she manages to persuade Nathan to be her fake boyfriend.
Bring on the giggles and laughs, from Jeanie finding out that Nathan is a famous stripper to Jeanie's mum over the top antics, swapping out men on a daily basis. Jeanie's Ex blowing his head over their teenage son finding some confidence and having a harem of women around him and staying out late. Then there's that heat and chemistry between Jeanie and Nathan, wow did that ever ignite. I won't spoil it, but that first scene they have together in the bed was dynamite, never could I ever imagined that.
Strap in tight, there's plenty of action both steamy and otherwise which will have you laughing and squirming in your panties right until the end. Very happy to see there's another book in this series to come and can't wait for it.
I couldn’t pick just 1 song for this one, so here’s 2. 🎵: Candy Shop by 50 Cent 🎵: Because of You by 98 degrees
Official review: 4.5⭐️ If I asked you to come up with a scenario in your head that involved the following things, what would come to mind? A coffin. Au jus. Disco ball. Silicone tongue. Unicorn mask. An artist. Butterfly tattoo. Elevator. Reality TV show. A cold glass of water. Veggie pool floaties. Hand necklace. If you have no idea but are now very curious how those could possibly ever fit together- I suggest you clear your calendar for 07.17.24 to read this hilarious rom-com. I knew I better buckle up for the ride by the content warning page, the first sentence and the nsfw chapter titles. This chaos life living Midwest mama, Jeanie, is balanced out(ish) by the one and only hunk of a man, Nathan. Typically when there are multiple characters and relationships happening in books, it gets to be to much or confusing, however, with this book I loved the many different relationships happening and thought it was very well done and avoiding any of the ‘wait a second? who? what? huh? what’s happening?’ thoughts while reading. This really stuck out to me. This book has a lot going on, but I also never felt lost- which I also believe is key to a solid written book. Especially for a debut book by the author! This was such a great light-hearted and perfect pool, beach & summer read.
🥭🥛🤝Make yourself a mango milkshake and prepare to wet yourself from laughing so hard.
💜A massive thank you shoutout to the author Rebel Warren and Greys Promotions for the opportunity to read this as an ARC.
I was hooked from page 1 and couldn't read fast enough! This book was hilarious and everybody needs a guy like Nathan in their court in life. Thanks to this book, the word nacho shall forever mean something other than chips and cheese dip.
Favorite line from Nathan about his and Jeanie's first time meeting: "I'm an expert at getting women naked, but 30 seconds is my best record."
Jeanie is on a mission to get back her ex-husband. So of course, showing up to his wedding festivities week has to be the best option. And he is marrying Jeanie's sort of former step-sister. Jeanie runs into Nathan while chasing down her ex and whew what a memorable meeting. Turns out Nathan Wolf isn't the stranger she thinks he is.
Nathan used to have a huge crush on Jeanie when he worked for her and her husband at their food restaurant back in Chicago. Jeanie doesn't remember him but Nathan could never forget her. He is in town for work and just happens to be staying at the hotel where the wedding party is. He's also kind of famous, but Jeanie is completely clueless.
Nathan agrees to be her 'life coach/fake boyfriend" for Jeanie's scheme to get her ex back. Nathan has other plans in mind. He believes he can make Jeanie fall in love with him and make her forget about her ex. He sure has his work cut out for him but he is never one to shy away from a challenge.
I absolutely loved this book and laughed so many times at how awkward Jeanie is but she is so relatable at the same time. I think Nathan may be everyone's new book boyfriend too! Go Wolfie! Make sure you check out the Reading Playlist too!

Jeanie is a divorced mom that's ready for revenge! With Nathan's help, they've devised a plan for crashing her ex-husband's wedding...where he's marrying her ex step-sister! That's all the information you need before going into this book. I'm so glad I didn't see any other reviews previously because it makes the entire reading experience that much better.
You are guaranteed to laugh out loud with this one! It's exaggerated, over the top and it gives allll the early 2000's rom-com vibes. I can see this being a movie that does exceptionally well. And for nostalgia's sake, Channing Tatum can play Nathan...iykyk.
Body positivity from the male POV is strong in this book, which I am absolutely here for! How many moms find various flaws within their own reflection? I know that I do and it makes Jeanie such a relatable character among many other things.
If you like the vibe of everything I've said, then read this book because it will not disappoint. Truly unique and a breath of fresh air...if you can come up for air from all the laughing. I would've finished this book in 1 day had I not needed to tend to other responsibilities (aka children).
Thank you Rebel Warren for providing me with an ARC of this book. I can't wait for your next book and I'm so happy to have connected with you.
🏝️ Fake Dating 🐺 He Falls First 🍹 Reverse Age Gap?? (5 years) 👀 Dual POV
This book was wacky but in the best way!! If you just want a fun, funny, easy read then I definitely recommend this book. Suspend belief and enjoy with this zany story.
Jeanie wakes up from a night she can’t remember in Miami Beach ready to crash her ex’s wedding in an effort to win him back. After accidentally flashing Nathan (a hot guy who crushed on her back when he was 18) he agrees to fake date her. Nathan is a secretly hoping it will open her eyes to being with him and to break up the wedding as revenge for her ex firing him. There’s a sex doll, a coffin, a crazy mom/grandma, Magic Mike vibes, and secondhand embarrassment.
Jeanie’s ex is the only man she’s been with and with her childhood it’s understandable why she’s fixated on getting her ex back, even though you just want to shake her to forget that jerk and focus on Nathan. She goes on a journey self growth and discovery while embarking on revenge. The spice isn’t plentiful but it’s good. There’s still heat between Jeanie and Nathan. Nathan is just sexy perfection. He is exactly what Jeanie needs.
It was almost comical the mentions of the age gap and Jeanie being a MILF. I mean she’s totally a MILF but the way their age gap is approached I thought Nathan was 30 and she was in her 40s. Jeanie is only 35. Is 5 years even an age gap?🤔 She even makes a comment to her ex that there’s a bigger age gap between him and his fiancé because there’s still that stigma of women dating younger men. I just mention it because at first I thought the mention of her being 35 was a joke and assumed she must be older lol.
Lastly take a look at the playlist Rebel Warren included with this book. A few songs are missing but if this doesn’t give an idea of what you are getting yourself into I don’t know what to say 🤣 I didn’t know I needed a playlist that included Nine Inch Nails, Harry Styles, Celia Cruz, and Juvenile but it’s perfect! Tropes: Wedding Crashers Her Villian Era Secret Identity He Falls First Revenge on the Groom Age Gap (F35/M30) Sugar & Spice Rom-com
The perfect Rom-com. This book was very refreshing to read! The perfect hilarious, light, yet meaningful & spciy read! Jeanie & Nathan are just what they both need and
Even after a year of being divorced Jeanie is still determined to win her ex back and what better way to do that than to crash his wedding to your "step-sister". Her plan isn't going as planned. In fact there is no plan, when she accidentally flashs a handsome stranger in the elevator which happens to be an aspiring "life coach" she suddenly has one.
Nathan isn't usually a deceitful person, but if it means getting revenge from an ex boss that almost ruined his life and winning the woman that's his first adult crush, Jeanie, he'll do anything. Even act as Jeanie's fake boyfriend to help win her ex husband back.
The chemistry between these two were incredible. They not only were attracted to each other, but completely understood each other. Both J & N showed each other that they are worthy of something special & having someone in your corner. That no matter how strong you are, you don't have to go through life alone.
Jeanie is such an awesome mother and does everything she can to protect & encourage Dex. Seeing Nathan so loving to Dex and supporting him as well warmed my heart!
Even though Jeanie & Sophia didn't really have a relationship, Sophia still saw Jeanie as a sister and to go and get married to Roman was shitty to me. Still I was so happy when she was free from Roman and can't wait to read her HEA!
This book was chaotic, unhinge and hilarious! As the title suggests- if you like Weddings, Revenge and Fake Dating then this book is for you! This was a quick read for me- I was really invested in Jeanie and Nick's relationship. They were very cute and "little nerdy" with their contract talks but it was endearing and it was what made them- them.
I laughed out loud so much while reading it. I enjoyed Jeanie and her relationship with Nick as well as her relationship with Sophie (which was a relationship I wasn't expecting but really loved). I saw a lot of growth in Jeanie's character and how she really was able to look at herself in this situation and ground herself (and make the right decisions).
This book was certainly entertaining. My reason for giving it a 4 and not a 5 was the dynamic between all the adults and her son and his friend Freddie. Maybe it is hard for me to imagine how a 15 year old thinks.... but I felt that the boys should have been a little older like 17 or maybe 18. Dex definitely appeared the most stable but he is still a child and with his mom being unstable at the beginning, his dad who is an a******, and his grandmother who is too busy trying to find her next man- IT was just a lot for me to process the dynamic of the family. Also- Freddie was weird and strange- I could not see Dex and him being friends. I do not think he added that much to the story- and the way he was flirting with Jeanie even if it was a joke (at the beginning)- just gave me the wrong vibes (given he was 15).
Given how hilarious this book is and knowing that this is a series- I am super pumped for the next book esp because I really like the who the FMC will be and she deserves a HEA!!!!!!
When I tell you this might be the best rom com I've ever read I absolutely mean it. This book had me hooked from the very first chapter. Jeanie, the fmc, is so likeable, flawed, and deeply funny. Nathan, the mmc, firstly is multi-faceted but also so caring and also funny that you couldn't do anything but root for him in this fake dating scenario. I was worried at the beginning when Jeanie said she wanted to get this annoying man back but as the book went on and seeing the different shenanigans happening it was so easy to basically hear "You Belong with Me" on repeat in your head when ever Nathan and Jeanie were together. I really hate that I was in this book because I hated my character. I never see my name in books and the one time I do I'm the bad guy 😔 I will be purchasing this book so I can easily reference it when someone asks for one of my favorite books or a rom com or fake dating or... the list is endless. This book easily made my top 10 of the year by 50% and the twist at the end had my mouth open, kindle dang near flew into my TV, and I was at a loss for words. I can't rave about this book any more. I absolutely loved it and I cannot wait for the next book, I want to see a book for each character and 3 for Jeanie's mom cause she is something else! Thank you to Grey's Promotions and the author for allowing me to ARC read. I apologize for this review but yall asked for honesty and I absolutely loved this
This was a fun little romance. I will say Jeanie was insufferable in the beginning of this book. Honestly I still can't figure out why she was so hung up on her ex. The dude was a dick. The entire time. At first I thought maybe he was getting married really quickly after they got divorced but it had been a year or more. Like girl, have some self respect. She was also a legit terrible mother. Her poor son was so much more emotionally mature than her. I get really triggered by kids parenting their parents.
I loved our MMC Nathan. He was such a fun character. I love how he was instantly obsessed with Jeanie. I loved how much he adored her. Though I do feel like it was unrealistic their relationship would work. Nathan was a single hot up and coming stripper. He wasn't looking for a relationship. I feel like in the real world he would steer away from all the baggage that came with Jeanie. I do appreciate how freaking sweet he was. Supporting her through her crazy hangs up with her ex. Who once again had zero redeeming factors.
I do appreciate that she ended up have a relationship with her not step-sister. It was never explained how she became engaged to Jeanie ex-husband. And like why? She seemed like such a sweet girl. How did she decide to even start a relationship with him?
Over all it was sweet. The spice was well written and the writing over all was great. It was a little too cheesy for me but I didn't hate it.

*received an arc of the book from the author in exchange for an honest review*
Leading up to this book, I was expecting it to be funny, but I didn't expect it to be as amusing as it was! There were definitely a lot of emotional moments, but I came into this expecting a funny story and that was exactly what I got.
From the start, I was obsessed with the FMC. She was an absolute mess and it was charming in a way! It gave a realistic look into what a fun single mom could look like, and I really enjoyed as we read along while she found herself. All of the characters - not just the two MCs - got a place in my heart if I’m honest. I found every single one of them enjoyable, except for the antagonist of course. Due to this, I really was able to appreciate each word across the book. There was never a dull moment and each chapter brought different forms of joy from within me.
I really enjoyed the way the book wrapped up! I especially loved that it wasn’t just a relationship with the MMC that the FMC was able to achieve, but she mended the relationship which she built throughout the book with her sister. The bond between those two women was just as important, if not more important, throughout the course of the book.
Overall, I really really liked the book and would recommend it to my friends to read!
- Fake dating - Elaborate plans - Mango milkshakes
I. LOVED. THIS. BOOK! I have not enjoyed reading something so much in a long time! I howled with laughter, cringed for the characters, stomped my feet....
This book was so clever and the FMC Jeanie was everything. She wakes up in a hotel room, not knowing where she is, why there is a ...doll...with her, where her clothes are. She had found out her former husband Roman was getting married...to her stepsister. And no one had told her. She was still hoping to reconcile with Roman after being divorced for 2 years. She realizes she must try to stop the wedding. (Cue dramatic and determined music).
Since she can't find her clothes, a towel is her only apparel as she strikes out to implement her plan...and promptly loses said towel in the elevator, thus showing the girls to an incredibly handsome man with "cake moist" lips. I expired. Just expired.
Nathan, the elevator spectator, recognizes Jeanie as the wife and co-owner of a sandwich shop he used to work at. He had a crush on her then and it is instantly rekindled. The two hatch a plan to stop the wedding by making Roman jealous...by fake dating. Little does Jeanie know, but Nathan is a famous performer of the clothing optional arts.
The chemistry between these two and their inner dialogues are the stuff of genius. I would rate this 10 mango milkshakes!
If you’re a fan of corny, laugh-out-loud, rom coms, you’re going to enjoy Weddings, Revenge and Fake Dating by Rebel Warren! Books like this, that are fun, quirky and even a bit outlandish at times are WHY I read romance. I love when a book gives me a complete break from reality and just throws me for a bit of a loop.
Jeanie wakes up in a complete daze one morning, only to discover she’s gone down to Miami to crash her ex husband’s wedding, get in good with the bride (she’s her ex step sister, but are we REALLY shocked?!), and get her family back together. When she runs into a complete hunk in the elevator and flashes her mangos at him(it was on accident!!), the two hatch a crazy plan to work together breaking things up, all while fake dating.
We all know how those plans tend to go. But, the adventure along the way to an HEA was a ton of fun.
This book had so many fantastic qualities, I don’t have enough time to list them all. It was quirky, funny, STEAMY, and even had some Magic Mike-esque moments thrown in there. But best of all, it had realistic moments of self doubt, self discovery, understanding your inner strength/badass-ness, and knowing that it’s okay to put yourself first in life. I just adored this book!
Does Jeanie Benton succeed in breaking up her ex-husband’s wedding and get her family back? Or could her elevator buddy and new “life-coach” Nathan win her and her mango milkshake over instead?
Where do I begin? I loooooved this book! The plot and ending was not what I expected at all! Mostly every character was extremely likable and hilarious for their own reasons. There is one I wanted to learn more about throughout the whole story and luckily we will be in the next book. Jeanie, the FMC, is so relatable, from one fellow hot mess mom to the next, I loved her LOL. Nathan, our MMC, UM obsessed with him. His kindness, his backstory, I just loved him so much. Their relationship, as weird as the beginnings were, felt so natural and genuine and their banter is actually FUNNY! I laughed throughout the whole book (even the chapter titles had me chuckling). I want to go on and on about this book but don’t want to spoil it!! Definitely check this book out, literally on July 17, you wont be sorry! Such a sweet story with every topic you could think of - divorce, mommy issues, sister issues, and most importantly finding your own strength.
