Issue 5 of the current Transformers Run keeps the battle of the factions going. shortly Optimus and the Autobots seem to have the upper hand with a blaster and water power but the can't really catch a break.
Some how each issue retains the frenetic action without getting stale. More than that we continue to get solid character moments. These are the characters I remember and they're allowed to shine, showing who they are. If you ever liked Transformers you owe it to yourself to read this series.
As per usual for DWJ, there’s just some out of this world action scenes in this book. LOVE the scene of Arcee saving Carly as she’s falling down the side of the dam - wow!

Optimus Prime makes good use of the fusion cannon scavenged from Megatron's remains.
However, Starscream and the Decepticons have something big, nay, massive in the wings.
Arcee was on the first issue Autobot cover, and she finally makes her appearance. With Springer set to appear in Void Rivals, we have two of the main cast from The Transformers: The Movie (1986).
The penultimate issue to the end of the first arc. Opens up with a nice moment between Optimus and Sparky discussing how war has affected them before we get into more frenetic action. More allies and more enemies join the fray, with a really badass panel of a certain someone saving Carly atop a Dam. Can’t wait to see how things pan out next.
My entire life I wanted to like Transformers. I enjoyed the toys and admired the characters and lore from afar, but I was always too young to have nostalgia from the original cartoon series and too "sMaRT" to like the godawful Michael Bay films of my teen years. Thankfully this series exists now.
I can finally say I'm wholeheartedly a Transfomera fan. OPTIMUS PRIME I LOVE YOUUUU
