In this brand-new novella collection, three renowned Christian historical fiction authors trace generations of wartime romances through a special wedding dress with love sewn into its seams.
"A Heart in Disguise" by Rachel Scott McDaniel
Clara Westlake loves her job as a seamstress in the US "Camouflage Corps," sewing suits for snipers and contributing to the war effort. But when she overhears a threat against her beloved New York City, the Great War comes too close to home--except no one believes her forewarning. She must recruit Marcus Reeves, a childhood friend searching for his purpose after suffering a devastating war injury. As they search for answers together, they may also uncover a love that lasts.
Kate Becker and Ike Finch have worked together at his family's bookstore since Kate's husband died in the early days of the Vietnam War. She has her daughter, Eloise, to take care of and bills to pay, and this job was a godsend. A second love is not in the cards, especially not with the world still teetering on the edge of insanity. But when Ike brings little Eloise special flowers one spring day, Kate begins to look at him as more than an employer. Is falling in love again worth the risk?

“Didn’t I always say that I thought the dress held a secret?”
Oh. My. Goodness. This book will be put on my ‘forever shelf’. I’ll be honest with you, I don’t enjoy novellas or short stories, so when I discovered that I’d signed up to read and review this one and that it contained three novellas by new-to-me authors, I almost sighed. Almost. Was I ever glad I took a chance?! You bet.
Linking all three wonderful stories is a wedding dress, the theme of second chances and characters who bear the scars of war. Each one is unique, both in the writing style and narrative. Together, they form a dynamite story.
I loved the thought that our story isn’t over yet. Each protagonist thought that war had taken away everything and that their story was all but over. In each case, the wedding dress seemed to have missed its purpose, but its story wasn’t over yet, either. You’ll have to read about how the characters and this dress were the recipients of second chances and went on to live to their full potential. War didn’t have to be a thief; the treasure was in their hands.
The reminder that “Brand new things deserve a chance to grow” was timely.
I’ll be searching the backlists of each author now.
I was gifted this copy by Kreugel and Rachel Scott McDaniel and was under no obligation to provide a review.
This was a lovely collection of three historical romance novellas! Each story is unique and beautiful in its own way while being tied together by a special wedding dress passed through generations. I loved how the authors set their stories during different times in American history (WWI, WWII, & the Vietnam War) and incorporated heartfelt messages that showcase love, hope, faith, and resilience in difficult circumstances. The stories were very well-written and incorporated relatable characters, faith content, new-to-me history, and sweet and swoony romances!
My favorite part of this book was how the authors intertwined Psalm 91:11 into each story; this verse says, “For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.”
If you enjoy interconnected stories, historical fiction, and wartime romances with uplifting and faith-filled messages, I highly recommend checking this one out✨
Content Discretions: No spice (kisses only), No language, wartime injuries, death of a loved one, grief, one mention of off-page sexual assault resulting in pregnancy
What a charming and captivating novella collection! I have long admired the work of Rachel Scott McDaniel, Allison Pittman, and Susie Finkbeiner. To have their writing all together in one book is a pure delight.
I've never given one of my books a star rating before. As a matter of fact, I don't typically give ANY book a star rating these days. This one, however, is just a little bit different.
All five stars are for my co-writers, Rachel Scott McDaniel and Allison Pittman. These two authors are so talented and constructed amazing stories and it's been a unique honor for me to share this collection with them.
Something Borrowed is a beautifully crafted collection for readers who cherish historical Christian fiction. The well-developed characters and compelling narratives make this book highly recommended for anyone looking to be immersed in tales of enduring romance and unwavering faith during the trials of war.
Something Borrowed beautifully weaves together three unique wartime romances through the timeless symbol of a special wedding dress, offering a heartfelt exploration of love, faith, and resilience.
"A Heart in Disguise" by Rachel Scott McDaniel: Clara Westlake, a seamstress in the US "Camouflage Corps," navigates the challenges of war and love with Marcus Reeves, her childhood friend. Their journey highlights bravery and the flourishing of love amidst turmoil.
"A Letter to Eli" by Allison Pittman: Bette’s unexpected reunion with her wounded ex-boyfriend Eli during World War II is a compelling narrative of second chances, underscoring the persevering nature of love and friendship.
"A Daffodil in the Dress" by Susie Finkbeiner: Set post-Vietnam War, Kate Becker’s blossoming relationship with Ike Finch, her employer at a bookstore, is a touching story of grief, healing, and new beginnings, filled with warmth and genuine gestures.
The wedding dress, passed through generations, stitches these stories together, adding historical richness and emotional depth. Each novella is a beautiful and memorable tale featuring love and faith during tough times.
I received an ARC of Something Borrowed via the publisher and JustRead Publicity Tours LLC. I am not required to write a positive review in any way or for any reason. My honest and unbiased opinions expressed in this book review are my own. My review focuses on the story’s content ensuring transparency and reliability.
I love short stories— so I absolutely adored this collection of sweet novellas! Each romance is set in NYC (which I love!) and covers three different wars. They are completely unique stories yet all beautifully connected and tied together by a hand-sewn wedding dress passed through generations. What makes the dress even more special is a message of love stitched within. 🪡
Each story captures human emotion and relationships: highlighting faith, hope, compassion, and resilience. True events and real people were written in the storyline which I love and I learned A LOT of new things! History comes alive this way!
I can’t wait to explore more works by these authors—especially the two who were new to me!
Content: war injuries, death of loved one, grief, off page sexual assault briefly mentioned. Kisses only, no language.
Thank you @kregelbooks & the tagged authors for a #gifted copy in exchange for my honest review.
Something Borrowed is the happy marriage of three powerhouse voices of historical fiction, and McDaniel, Pittman, and Finkbeiner each shine here! A wedding dress, rich in beauty and history, ties these stories together, but it’s the breathtaking tales of love—sometimes lost, eventually found, often unexpected, and always worth the wait—that will connect with the reader’s heart. Prepare to get blissfully swept away!
Something Borrowed is a collection that had me quickly turning the pages to experience each story revolving around the same wedding dress across several generations. The opening novella, A Heart in Disguise, by Rachel Scott McDaniel quickly drew me in from the very first line. With equal parts romance, faith, and mystery, I was captivated until the very end.
I was surprised by the Author’s Note at the end from Susie Finkbeiner (I feel like her name should be followed by the great or Dr., or something of the sort), to learn that she had not considered herself to be a “Romance” writer. After reading Something Borrowed, as well as other books written by her, I have always found a true and solid love to gently flourish throughout her stories.
A delightful trio of stories with significant lessons of hope, love and faith, all tied together with an unforgettable wedding dress. A HEART IN DISGUISE- Rachel Scott McDaniel. April 1918 Building on real events, this story was interesting, informative, exciting and a joy to read. The characters were realistic, serving their country and relying on their faith in God. It is fascinating to learn new things about our country and its history. The story flowed effortlessly and old friends to romance was very well done. A LETTER TO ELI- Allison Pittman. April 1942 Heartache and Hope during WWII tells of two friends in NYC. The life on the home front was excellently portrayed with a sort id Cyrano element. With a flawed hero, an unsure heroine and friendship that survived many hardships. A DAFODIL IN THE DRESS- Susie Finkbeiner. Spring 1969 A quiet, kind, respectful hero and a grieving widow connect in a bookshop. This was nostalgic for me because I married in 1969. Lots of references were memorable. The family of Kate was bad at matchmaking but good at loving and accepting. The young child, Eloise was charming. Another faith filled excellent story. I loved all three stories and they fit together perfectly. *I received an ARC from Kregel on behalf of the authors. I was not required to post a favorable review. All opinions are mine alone.*
What a lovely collection of novellas! While there is the same wedding dress woven into each novella, they are all unique tales and weave in the dress in different ways. The length of the novellas, speed of the romance and sprinkling of wartime historical details were well done for all three of them.
A Heart in Disguise by Rachel Scott McDaniel New York City 1918
What I loved most about this novella was learning something new about WWI...who knew there was a US Women's Reserve Camouflage Corp? Fascinating!
Novella Two A Letter to Eli by Allison Pittman New York City 1943
What a sweet tale of friendship and love! The codes that Eli left in his letters to Bette were so sweet.
Novella Three A Daffodil in the Dress by Susie Finkbeiner New York City 1969
Not seeing the forest for the trees. Not realizing the man you've worked with for years is the man you love. As a widow with a young daughter, Kate is focused on her daughter and not herself. Seeing her find love was bliss.
My gratitude to publisher Kregel for a complimentary copy of the novel. I was not required to post a review and all opinions expressed are my own.
I loved each and every one of the novellas in this Historical Romance Collection! The three stories are tied together with a silk wedding dress that carries a secret hope, and the timeframes span across three wars. And each is set in New York City! One part that I found especially interesting was reading about the women who live in three unique eras; and yet, their experiences of grief, second chances, and the home-front of war give them an inextricable connection. Each story showcased its author’s own unique voice, but there are some similarities that I loved: women depending on the Lord and on family in the face of grief, hero’s with high moral characters and longstanding love, and happily-ever-afters.
In Rachel Scott McDaniel’s I really enjoyed the element of suspense and mystery, alongside the sweet second-chance romance. In Allison Pittman’s I loved the spunky main character, the longevity of her best friend, and the beautifully poetic style of writing. In Susie Finkbeiner’s, I especially liked the spotlight on a war widow and her daughter, the tender literary hero, and the patience of love on display.
Recommended for fans of historical fiction who are looking for something quick and satisfying!
Thank you to Kregel for the complimentary ebook in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed are completely my own.
Three stories in this compilation set that centers on a beautiful wedding dress. Which is featured in three different times in American History. I love historical fiction and this box set delivers not only history but sweet and clean romance as well. And for you mystery/suspsense lovers, the first story will be up your alley. I enjoyed all three. *i was given a copy of this book by the publisher, and this is my honest opinion.
I absolutely loved each of the three stories in this collection! Each one whisked me away back in time. I felt like I was part of the story! Each story was filled with emotion. Love, loss, joy, heartache, and more love! A true reader delight, delivering all the emotions and page-turning experience. This is definitely a collection you will want for your keeper shelf to pull out and enjoy a second or third time!
(I received an early reader copy at my humble request from the author/publisher. I am not required to write a review. All options shared are my own.)
I’m a sucker for a good anthology and when Rachel asked me if I would like to read Something Borrowed, I knew I couldn’t wait! These stories were set during WWI and venturing to WWII and ending with the Vietnam War. So if you love historical romance then you will love these!
I really enjoyed all three of these stories intertwined by a beautiful, handmade wedding dress. Each story showed how the dress found its way to someone who needed it.
These heartwarming stories were rich in character growth, love, family and friendships. Each story held me captive till I could get to the next. They were so beautiful they brought tears to my eyes several times.

A Letter to Eli by Allison Pittman 🤍High School Sweethearts 🤍Second Chance 🤍Wounded hero 🤍Sweet moments
A Daffodil in the Dress by Susie Finkbeimer 🤍Friends to Lovers 🤍He falls first 🤍Bookstore 🤍Boss/Employee 🤍Single mom/widow
The other two authors were new to me and I loved their writing! I love finding new authors!
I highly recommend this historical romance anthology! It’s a fast read that you won’t be able to put down!
I received a complimentary copy from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I love this anthology and the stories woven around a special dress, with prayers offered by women of different generations. This book starts off with a riveting bang and left me moved to tears at the end after enjoying my first story by Susie Finkbeiner. Psalm 91:11 plays a paramount role in offering comfort to such lovely characters as Clara, Bette, and Kate as they exhibit hope in the midst of war and its aftermath. Each of their experiences is unique yet finds a common thread in what it means to trust God with the future when surrounded by uncertainty and the unknown.
It is evident that God's promise is what carries each woman, offering the message that what is true in these stories is true for us today. From Clara's stewardship of her gifts to make a difference to Bette's forgiveness of others when caught in an act of deception to Kate’s protective care for her daughter as a single mother, each woman brings a touch of inspiration as they seek to serve others. Readers who enjoy interconnected stories told through time will be captivated by the gift of a borrowed dress that carries a much deeper meaning beyond a wedding day.
“Something Borrowed” is a lovely anthology of three Christian novellas, linked together by a special wedding dress.
Each of these stirring stories have wartime settings: A Heart in Disguise (WWI), A Letter to Eli (WWII), and A Daffodil in the Dress (Vietnam War.) I don’t think I can pick a favorite. Each are special in their own way.
Though the three novellas carry different airs and a writer’s voices, they are seamlessly tied together with elements of faith, tenderness, and hope. I love stories that warm the heart, showcase trust in God, and make me sigh. This book offers three short reads that hold plenty of depth and emotional impact.

What a lovely collection of novellas. I have been a fan of Susie Finkbeiner for awhile. Rachel Scott McDaniel and Allison Pittman were new to me authors, and this won't be the last work I read by them. Each story was unique in it's own way and the romances were sweet and wonderful.
I loved the different eras the stories took as well as the wedding dresses journeys. I can't wait to discover my books by these authors.
*thank you to Susie Finkbeiner and the publisher for a complimentary copy. All thoughts are my own.
The Something Borrowed novella collection tells three romance stories all threaded with wartime and sacrifice and a unique dress that binds them together. The dress connects them in a surprising way, a bit nontraditional in its origin, acquisition, and presence as a motif, which I really loved. While collections like this usually have a standout favorite story for me, I can’t pick a favorite in this particular collection because I enjoyed and was impressed by each story for different reasons.
A Heart in Disguise by Rachel Scott McDaniel is a second-chance, WWI era romance with a little intrigue and real-life stateside homefront happenings. The second chance establishes a history and dynamic between the leads, which also show admirable growth through the story.
In A Letter to Eli, author Allison Pittman shows off her engaging authorial voice. This is a captivating, page-turning WWII era story, also a second chance romance with a delightful letter element. I appreciated how the leads showcase memories of youthful days balanced with the weight of conflict and present concerns.
A Daffodil in the Dress by Susie Finkbeiner sweetly uses tropes that feel organic to the characters. This story is about a widowed mother with a darling little girl, Eloise, who happens to work in a bookshop. And, it’s a workplace romance between Kate and her tenderhearted boss, Ike. In a similar vein to the second chance stories earlier in the novella, these two characters have an established respect and professional friendship. Seeing it blossom to a realization of love — through a particularly humorous dinner occasion, too — is a treat.
My thanks to the authors and Kregel publishers for the review copy. This is my honest review.
something borrowed is such a charming collection of historical-romance novellas! i was delighted to read each one.
in rachel scott mcdaniel's "a heart in disguise," clara only brought one reminder of her years in hollywood back to new york city: a silk wedding dress. of course, she has no use for such a dress—until she comes face-to-face with childhood friend and returning soldier marcus. as he helps her investigate the veracity of something suspicious she overheard, they might just get the chance to rectify a misunderstanding that occurred between them years ago...
then, in allison pittman's "a letter to eli," bette knows it's just as well that the dress doesn't fit her because she can't bear to hope as her best friend alice does, waiting for her fiancé to return from his world-war-ii service. an unexpected letter, though, forces her hand, and she must reckon with the love she let go.
lastly, in susie finkbeiner's "a daffodil in the dress," kate works in ike's bookstore, but she's never looked twice at him. after all, she lost her husband in the vietnam war and has a daughter to support; she's fine with life the way it is—until a flower changes everything.
each story captures the tension of its historical time with conflict and drama, while still delivering a sweet and swoony second-chance romance. these three stories together in something borrowed provide hope that yes, love can be worth the risk. it's just so good.
if you love historical romance, you will not be disappointed by something borrowed.
(i received a complimentary copy from the publisher. i was not required to write a positive review, and all the opinions i have expressed are my own.)
considerations: —language: none —spice: kisses only —faith: mentions of God and the bible —content: mentions of war, injuries, loss of significant other or family member
Something Borrowed is a wonderful collection of historical romance novellas that take place during wartime on the homefront. Each story is set in New York City, that spans different eras.
The first tale, A Heart in Disguise by Rachel Scott McDaniel, occurs in 1918 amidst the backdrop of World War I. Allison Pittman's A Letter to Eli takes place in 1943 during World War II. The final novella, A Daffodil in the Dress by Susie Finkbeiner, is set in the Vietnam War in 1969. It would be hard to pick a favorite because I truly enjoyed them all.
The book's title is fitting, as each love story is connected by a beautiful and special wedding dress that conjoins the stories through time. It's delightful to see how each woman comes to acquire this dress, with each story offering a different but heartwarming journey of finding love during challenging times. The historical details bring these periods to life, adding such richness to each story.
Something Borrowed is perfect for those moments when you want a short but satisfying read. Novellas have become a favorite of mine because I'm able to fit them into my busy schedule. This historical romance collection will bring the past to life and touch your heart, just as it did mine.
I don’t think I have ever read such a beautifully crafted, deeply touching collection of novellas. Normally a novella doesn’t quenching my need for a fully fleshed out and developed romance, but have no fear these three outstanding authors gave us three amazing, poignant war time stories that will bring a tear to your eye and a smile to your face.
Three top notch authors deliver three solid, touching novellas. I've read Finkbeiner and Pittman before, but this is my first McDaniel book. I'll have to check out her other works. In Something Borrowed, three stories follow three different women through three different wars, but there is an intimate connection in the stories. Each one is a quick read and includes a sweet love story. They are each well written and kept me entertained and I'm sure they will entertain you as well!
This wonderful Christian Historical Romance Collection features three touching novellas written by three very talented storytellers. The captivating, inspiring stories, set in New York City in three different wartime eras, are connected by a special wedding dress. Each story, replete with authentic historical details, aptly reflects the “feels” of the era in which they take place. A HEART IN DISGUISE—Rachel Scott McDaniel—1918 (World War I Era) This story is a perfect blend of romance, wartime intrigue, and faith. Wonderfully crafted characters drive the story, and real-life historical figures and events are seamlessly incorporated. I love the way Clara and Marcus’ second chance romance develops and how they learn to rely on God. The struggles of German immigrants in this country during this time are notably and respectfully highlighted. This is an informative as well as an entertaining read. A LETTER TO ELI—Allison Pittman—1943 (World War II Era) This is a heartwarming and at times heart-wrenching story of friendship and love. The friendship between Bette and Alice who are more different than alike is priceless. With a well-structured plot, realistic characters, sweet rekindled romance, and a gentle faith thread, this is a touching, enjoyable read. A DAFFODIL IN THE DRESS—Susie Finkbeiner—1969 (Vietnam War Era) This is a sweet story featuring Kate, a widowed mother of an adorable 5-year-old daughter Eloise, and Ike Finch, a bookstore owner and Kate’s boss. I love the bookish connection that they share and how Ike relates so easily to Eloise. An engaging plot, relatable characters, slowly growing romance, and an encouraging faith thread combine to make a satisfying, entertaining story. I thoroughly enjoyed this collection and highly recommend it as excellent inspirational historical romance. I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher with no obligation to write a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Three beautiful stories blending history through one wedding dress. Amazing characters and wonderful stories. A Heart in Disguise- One of my favorite tropes, the forbidden best friend’s sister. This story is set during WWI and is a sweet romance with a little bit of mystery/suspense. Clara and Marcus have quite the adventure. A Letter to Eli- A sweet second chance romance set during WWII. Bette is a little bit of a spitfire! I loved Bette and Eli together. Their banter back and forth was so fun. A Daffodil in the Dress-Little Eloise stole my heart from the first page. Ike with Eloise turned me to a puddle! Ike and Kate are perfect for each other.
This ARC was provided by the author. I was not required to give a positive review, rating and opinions are my own.
A memorable trio of Christian Historical Military Romance stories created by three skilled authors . . .
* ~ 'A Heart in Disguise' by Rachel Scott McDaniel: Set in New York City in the spring of 1918, this World War I themed romance begins with a breath-taking scene involving the main female character, Clara Westlake. A gifted seamstress and clothing designer, Clara is working as a volunteer for the US government creating camouflage uniforms for sharpshooters to wear in combat to hide their presence from the enemy. Her older brother and his best friend are both serving in Europe. Marcus has returned from France with a debilitating hand injury and must learn to navigate his 'new' life. I will not soon forget the tender moments they shared in their journey to becoming reacquainted. This story is one of the most beautiful love stories I've ever read . . .
**************
* ~ 'A Letter to Eli' by Allison Pittman: Set in New York City in the spring of 1943, Bette and her lifetime best friend, Alice, share a tiny one-bedroom walk-up. Bette is a housekeeper at a nearby upscale hotel; Alice works in her family's department store. Alice's fiancé, Frank, is serving in Europe. Bette is single and tries not to worry about her former boyfriend, Eli, who is also serving overseas. This story features some unique, quirky characters and scenes which I really enjoyed! There is an interesting subplot involving recycling and reusing some items that were rationed to help with the War effort. Read the full story to discover how Bette and Eli find their way back into each other's arms—and hearts.
**************
* ~ 'A Daffodil in the Dress' by Susie Finkbeiner: Set in New York City in the spring of 1969, this heartfelt story about a young Vietnam War widow and her five-year-old daughter deeply touched my heart from the first word to the last. A thread about daffodils is woven into the story when Eloise, Kate's daughter, finds some yellow daffodils growing in the beds at Washington Square Park. Eloise wants to pick some of the flowers to take home, but Kate disappoints her daughter when she tells the young girl she is not allowed to pick the flowers in the park. Kate works in a book store and as the story progresses we learn what an outstanding man her employer, Ike Finch, really is. He is kind, patient, and friendly toward Eloise. When he learns that the young girl adores daffodils, he manages to find a neighbor who gives him a small bouquet from her garden. When he presents them to Eloise, I felt the entire story shifted momentum. This is one of my favorite historical romance stories I have read this year.
~ * All three of these stories are completely clean in language and content. I especially enjoyed the inclusion of a beautiful, handmade wedding dress (seen on the book cover) from the first story in each subsequent story.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher through JustRead Publicity Tours. All of my thoughts and opinions shared here are solely my own.
Emotional and lovely, these three wartime historical novellas with happily ever afters that involve the same wedding dress through the decades are all delightful!
All three are excellent reads, but I am always floored by Rachel Scott McDaniel’s uncanny ability to deliver romance, mystery, suspense, gospel truth, and history in a perfect package. This time, the perfect package was even smaller as a novella! Rachel Scott McDaniel brought interesting WWI history to life in a beautiful and entertaining love story. The stakes are high in this suspenseful story, and the chemistry between protective hero and strong heroine delivers some excellent romantic moments! This is another perfect story from a fantastic author!
Allison Pittman’s WWII love story and Susie Finkbeiner’s Vietnam War love story were both incredibly touching romances that followed the same wedding dress from Rachel’s story as it exchanged hands through the years, and both novellas showed different aspects of wartime love in deeply emotional journeys with ultimate happy endings. I truly enjoyed each of them, and I thought that all three stories complimented each other very well. I highly recommend this anthology to hopeless romantics with a love of interesting historical fiction!
I received a copy for review purposes. My thoughts are my own, and I really did love it!
Three separate wartime stories with an unlikely connection to a wedding dress with a very special message hidden within. I don't read novella collections often, but I knew this trio of authors could pull off fully-fleshed out stories within the shortened parameters of a novella.
I found the historical detail included by each author skillfully separated the stories, bringing to life the home front of each respective era. While each heroine has a different backstory, they have all suffered hardship and loss, needing to find the courage and resilience to look forward with hope.
A HEART IN DISGUISE has a mystery woven throughout this story of friends to more. I loved the role Clara takes in the war effort. It is an unusual one that I previously had no knowledge. With expert plot-pacing, readers will love the blend of suspense and romance.
A LETTER TO ELI is not only a romance but a story of friendship. With the help of her friend Alice, Bette must find the courage to fall in love during a season of uncertainty.
A DAFFODIL IN THE DRESS is a delightful story of a young widow finding the courage to love again.
I received a complimentary copy from the author/publisher. I was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
The more I read novellas, the more I grow to love them. The first few novellas I read; I was not the biggest fan. I now have grown to love a good novella. Something Borrowed, might be one of my favorites so far, definitely in my top three. I had a hard time putting it down. I have read some of Rachel Scott McDaniel’s books, but Allison Pittman and Susie Finkbeiner are new to me. I look forward to reading some more.
The character development was absolutely beautiful across all three works. I was highly impressed, with how involved I got with each character. Clara doing her laundry as Marcus enters the apartment. Alice and Bette’s friendship was so sweet. Kate and Eloise’s mother-daughter relationship.
The storyline was great. I loved the intertwining story and history. The dress that wove the stories together was a very touching aspect. I loved that each story covered a different war from WWI to WWII and Vietnam war, it is the perfect dip into modern history. The setting was perfect. Each pieces added to the story.
The romance was perfect in each story. Nothing too over the top. Just the perfect touch of sweetness. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
The historical element was perfect and added to the story. I loved getting a glimpse into that time period.
The faith aspect was great. The ladies did a great job intertwining faith throughout the novella.
*I received a complimentary copy from the author and voluntarily chose to review it. All opinions are my own.
4.5 stars rounded up to 5 for Goodreads. This is a really fun set of stories. I liked that a wedding dress was the tie between the three stories and I enjoyed the different eras of the stories as well. Rachel’s story set up the book wonderfully and I loved the mystery thread of her novella. Allison’s story of a second chance romance was good. Susie’s story was adorable! I loved that a bookstore was involved and the romance in this one was really sweet. A great collection!
I received a copy of this book from one of the authors and was not required to post a positive review. All thoughts are my own.
