The Carly Phoenix series is an intense and riveting thriller featuring a complex and troubled female protagonist. Brimming with suspense, unexpected turns, and a pulse-pounding tempo, this series ensures an enthralling experience that's bound to keep you turning pages late into the night. Fans of Karin Slaughter, Teresa Driscoll, and Lisa Regan are sure to fall in love.
Cold Bloodied is a riveting and suspenseful thriller that kept me turning pages. This was book 2 in the Carly Phoenix series.
Carly is troubled by a new cold case she is working on that turns out to be more convoluted than she expected from the evidence that keeps piling up as she searches for other cases that are similar in nature.
Her supervisor, Agent Grayson, works with her to help solve this case. Their partnership becomes closer and they begin to trust each more with each new development. Carly begins to confide in Gray about her concern over her mother’s death and how it is now a cold case with no outcome. Will Gray take over solving this case. Time with tell in the next installment or more.
This was an enjoyable read. I look forward to more in this thriller series.
I don’t think I’ve ever read a book where the first chapter was the best. The writing in chapter 1 was absolutely phenomenal. It caught me in its web of intricacies and pulled me into this mystery as an artist used words as the paintbrush. Continuing to read, I developed a new respect for this author. After a while, the descriptions almost seemed overdone, yet I was already caught in its web. This is a really good story, with cold case detectives finding cases that seem to be unrelated yet definitely were related. It comes to a gripping conclusion, with the epilogue, making one wish for the next installment.
I didn't like this book at all, wish I hadn't hung around to the end. It was just boring. The plot is not believable, and I couldn't imagine the very limited clues leading to this resolution. Very little depth to it. Just felt like the protagonists somehow stumbled to the answer. And not much logic for why the killer would start killing people, or why those people. I see this averages ab out 4 stars, not sure what other reviewers see in this book.
Carly Phoenix FBI agent working Cold Case division with her partner in Chicago. What was suppose to be a demotion ended up being more. she was good at her job . She had a hard time Learning to trust, but with her new partner it was working out for both of them.
Although the book starts a little slow, it finally grabbed my attention. Carly and Gray are two FBIers working on cold cases in the Chicago area. They determine that quite a few of these cold cases are tied together, and so it seems they have a serial killer on their hands. It's a pretty good story.
It’s a book that pulls you in. It definitely keeps you guessing. It is a book that is easy to follow. It does go back in time to tell the story of each victim but as you read you know your reading about the victim.
Okay, they're cold cases that the two leads identify and feel are connected. The MC give the existing evidence to the lab to retest with new technology. Even the final twist wasn't identified by the MC.
I did enjoy the story but didn't feel the MC did a lot for the story.
Well written and the case details never got long winded or repetitive. Very interested in continuing Carly's quest to solve her mother's murder as well!
A lot of twists a d turns, kept me wanting to keep reading to find out who did it. Very good book. Will probably try another of her books in the future.
