Second in a series of Detective Maggie Monroe Mysteries.
Murder Almost is the story of wrongful incarceration. Charlie Wilson is convicted of mayhem on a parole officer and sent to prison for twenty-five years. While there, he meets a counselor who takes him under her wing and teaches him about Carl Sandburg’s “Time is the coin of your life. It is the only coin you have, and only you can determine how it will be spent. Be careful lest you let other people spend it for you.” He serves his time and returns to Barrier, where Sheriff Maggie and Deputy Brick follow the clues to attempt to prove his innocence.
I loved this story. It's very well written with much intrigue and suspense. The surprise ending is genius. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. Thank you Helene Mitchell.
