The Shadow Within written by the author M.Z. Szklanny is the first installment in A King's Wrath book series. The main characters of the story are the Oleander brothers - Oliver and Artur who are fighting for their birthright i.e. Hallgeard's throne. The Oleander brothers are determined to restore the honor and glory
of their once-proud lineage.

Otis feels the weight of his father's expectations on him. The amulet around his neck helped him by illuminating the darkness that surrounded him. His father's manipulation pulls him back into the darkness. As Otis embarks on a self-discovery journey, he even becomes a mentor to the Oleander brothers.

This book kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved the character of Oliver. Being an elder brother, he is more courageous. The world building is done well by the author. The writing style of the author is nice and easy to follow. The characters are well written by the author.

Those who are fans of reading fantasy stories should definitely get their hands on this book. Looking forward to reading more books by the author in this book series.
