ENUFF: Eliminate the Needless, Useless, Foolish, and Frivolous

Rate this book
ENUFF is a 12-chapter guidebook that will give you the tools you need to identify and clear out ALL your clutter – physical, mental, and emotional – in order to simplify your life once and for all. Simplifying your life will give you room to breathe, time to ponder, and energy to explore alternatives to a life that may be leading you around by the nose. Instead, you are going to lead the life you choose for yourself by focusing on the values and dreams you hold dearest.

By provoking thought, shifting perspectives, and challenging conventions, ENUFF will open your eyes to the real cost of all that excess baggage. From the desire to impress others and the pressure to meet expectations to the false comfort of conformity, there are many reasons to jump head first into the rat race without question or hesitation and chase “success.” And if that’s working for you, no worries! If not, clear some space and make some time for something different, something new … something ELSE. You have a limited amount of time and energy while you’re here on the planet. But you also have infinite possibilities. Until you discover and focus on the goals that you decide are your real reason for being here, it’s too easy to get distracted by physical clutter, busy-work, and nonsense. Dig out! First, unearth your hidden passions and discover a purpose you’ll love waking up to every day. Then you’ll realize that everything in your life either serves that purpose or distracts you from it – and the distractions will suddenly – and quite obviously – become ... CLUTTER!

Get rid of the burden of the stuff in your life that wastes a lot of your time and energy but gives nothing back. As Tom Bender (author and architect) says, “Like a garden, our lives need to be weeded if they are to produce a good crop.”

This Kindle edition is pitiful. So many typos, misformatting (e.g., centered text for no reason). I stopped reporting them because it's clear nobody cares or it wouldn't have gotten this far.

Otherwise, this it's kind of a weird book. Half is a not especially well-written rehash of your standard uncluttering text. Then there's an anti-consumerism screen. Not that I disagree with this, but this was a surprising place to find it. Finally there as a "spiritual" sort of chapter. All leaving me confused and irritated.

Rambling book not for me

This book was not for me, sorry author. I could not find the purpose of reference to watching movies or quotes from people I had never heard about. Also it is very American and some discussion and suggestions do not fit into my European life style

I enjoyed this much more than I thought I would. I put off reading it for a long time but I felt positive and encouraged as I read it. It went beyond decluttering, looking at other areas of life that you can eliminate the excesses that contribute to overwhelm.

Well-written, inspiring!

I really enjoyed the positive spin this author puts on simplifying your life. A lot of thought provoking stuff here..such as the real cost of shopping for useless items and enriching major corporations at the expense of the American dream. I find myself a kindred spirit! Good read!
