Adam Gibson is a multimillionaire who is not searching for God--or demons--when he finds love with a beautiful woman. Unfortunately, Rania, the one who has captured his heart, has a tormented past. Adam is unaware of his powers, how God makes sure his each prayer is heeded due to his virtue of charity. Adam knows Rania is still the answer to all his silent prayers. But now only time will tell if her soul is destined to be his once again.
Rania Ahmed is dead inside. Adam, the man she mistakenly considered to be her soul mate, has crushed her soul into millions of pieces. Due to her broken past, she still believes her curse will keep her from loving ever again. What she does not know is that Adam has made a promise to himself to never give up on her--no matter what. But Adam does not know what he is getting himself into.
In this spiritual romance, an atheist embarks on a path of enlightenment with a tormented soul who may just have the power to change everything he has ever believed to be true.
History, art and literature are my passions. I love digging out information about prophecies, divine miracles, and paranormal events that are mentioned in history and holy books but don’t sound possible in today's modern world.
Since childhood, I have been into reading and writing—and yes, it can’t happen without imagination, which luckily has no boundaries. Dance and music are also pastimes I enjoy, as well as reading romance fiction. I love to travel and explore historical cities.
Wow! I enjoyed the first book in this series, "A Silent Prayer", but was completely gripped by the second part. The author wove a number of unexpected twists and turns into the tricky, bi-cultural romance between Rania and Adam, and this time there was a happy ending too!
Because we already know the characters very well at the beginning of this book, the action made sense from the get-go. I particularly enjoyed the running theme of "money is not important to love", even though we go through Adam's journey in coming to this realisation.
By far the most challenging transition however is for Rania to learn whom she can trust, after her painful past left many scars. Several times she takes this brave step, only to have her new beliefs shot down in flames again. Her strength and determination shine through, until Adam finally proves his worth to her and to himself.
This sequel to A Silent Prayer continues where the first ended with Rania losing her trust in Adam. As the story progresses, we see that Adam does not give up on Rania and keeps trying to find her. We are finally given details about Rania's past and everyone's behaviour becomes more clear.
This story focuses more on the supernatural aspect with the author explaining the existence of a Jinni who has set his sights on Rania. Only her true soulmate can save her. Due to his generosity, God has chosen Adam to be Rania's soulmate. Adam promises time and again to take care of her and protect her. He helps heal her relationship with her father.
There are a few twists in this story and they make the story even more interesting. The reader is forced to stop and evaluate his/her ideas and I would say that most people have faith and believe. It is just a matter of understanding and being patient. If we face obstacles in life, it is only to make us stronger is one message readers can derive from this story.
A remarkably well written story, this author wraps up the plot with finesse. The reader will come away with a lot to think about and the author succeeds in doing this with great subtlety.
"An Arabian Nights-style conclusion to an intriguing cross-cultural love story." -- KIRKUS I read and reviewed the first novel in the A Prayer Series. I loved A Silent Prayer and since its ending was an unqualified cliff-hanger I just had to read A Prayer Heeded. This second book of the Prayer Series opens with Adam and Rania separated and miserable. Adam has let jealousy and alcohol cause him to lose the only thing he really cares about: Rania's trust. Meanwhile Rania is not only broken-hearted but financially broke and living in a shelter. It appears it's going to take a miracle to get the two lovers back together, but there is no doubt that they belong together.
Samreen Ahsan has done it again. Rarely have I seen such an artful blend of mysticism, magic, and realism in a story, especially a story that is essentially a love story. Samreen Ahsan unfolds her story with a very deft and talented hand. The major question of A Prayer Heeded is whether or not Adam and Rania will be together and we are unsure about this until the very last page. There are powerful forces at work in the lives of Adam and Rania. Some of them are good, but some of them are evil and Samreen Ahsan is a master at moving the story along while keeping the suspense level high. The Prayer Series was inspired by the Holy Qur'an and in this time of so much mistrust and misunderstanding between Islam and the West this book can help bridge the gap between the two worlds. -- Readers' Favorite 2014 International Book Awards
When i read the first book i could not sleep until i was done reading this one! the first book leaves the perfect, chilly suspense and the second not only makes it worth the while but also makes sure u have goosebumps till the very end.
This book does tell a great love story and give paranormal accounts based on Islamic religious belief system but also shows us that patience, trust and purity in our hearts can make every relationship work out and tear all harms away.
Every time Adam hurts Rania one cannot think of a way she can overcome the sorrow but she does. Adam proves to be the person who gives strength not just to Rania but also the story. The relationship of unconditional love that they both share so realistically inspires us that it's not so difficult to have that chemistry.
As Shakespeare says, "not one who's flame my heart so much as warmed". Thus i can totally vouch that this book is the best romantic book i have ever read. Not just a great story but also makes perfect connection with the reader..=) Love it!
Disclaimer: I received an e-copy in exchange for an honest review.
Can soul-mates truly conquer all?
We pick up exactly where the first book left off: Adam screwed up and Rania is running, and that's all I plan to give away. I believe that Adam and Rania are perfect for one another. However, Rania has her horrible past to contend with, and Adam still doesn't know the details. He wants to be there for her, in every way possible, but can she break down the walls around her heart and soul to let him in? He really messed up this time, after she put her trust and faith in him; can he even win her back so she CAN divulge her secrets? Is all his wealth and power enough to find her, or will she remain lost to him forever? And how will Rania contend with the publicity of all this, as well as the reactions of Mike and her father? Read it and find out =)
The tumultuous relationship between Adam Gibson and Rania Ahmed had been heading for happily ever after at the end of the first book in A Prayer Series, but jealousy, insecurity, and mistrust threw everything into chaos, possibly ending everything they had built. Putting the pieces of their relationship back together will be anything but simple as secrets surface and lives are threatened.
Having been left on such a cliffhanger at the end of book one, I was glad to get back to Adam and Rania's story. The emotional upheaval I experienced in the first book was certainly continued through this one. Emotions are running even higher as Adam desperately tries to figure out how to make up for what he did and regain Rania's trust. Things are no better for Rania as she fights to overcome her past and figure out how to move on with her life and protect Adam when there are forces in her life that refuse to let her escape their grasp.
The supernatural, or spiritual, elements hinted at in the first book were brought into the spotlight in this book. I was pleasantly surprised to discover the truth behind Rania's dark past and the forces trying to control her future. I was very interested as I learned more about the traditional beliefs in jinns and other spirits. It was one of the bigger pulls of the story, learning more about the spirits Rania was caught up with. I was glad to see the glimpses in the first book panned out and were incorporated in the story more centrally.
The romance elements were well done, as I had come to expect from the first book. Readers are definitely in for an emotional and steamy journey as they follow these two. Even when the couple became more intimate, it was handled in a way that felt quite respectful of their relationship. As in the first book, there was a good deal of explicit language, but other than that, I really only had one issue with the overall story. That was that once some of the actions of certain characters were explained, I had a difficult time accepting them because their initial reactions had been so convincing. I felt a little misled when the truth was revealed, but even that was not enough to keep me from enjoying the story. Overall, it was a very captivating story or love and life and what it means to sacrifice for the people you care about.
The previous book left me high and dry. The romance between Raina and Adam is the previous book was portrayed truly beautifully, so I knew what to expect in this book. But then this book was everything I didn’t expect. The writer in her mail did warn me that this book was slightly different, but little did I know what I signed up for.
In the previous book, the readers are given glimpses of Raina’s violent past. And here I was expecting a past to be filled with normal “violence”. The story took a paranormal turn there. Paranormal wouldn’t be the apt word – mythical fits better. The whole story line suddenly transformed into a paranormal romance filled with references to Mythical creatures – Jinn or Satan as I’ve known for long.
Having never read much about Muslim culture or practices, this book proved to be an eye-opener for me. Raina’s violent past and her present with Adam has an unfortunate connection to particular obsessed supernatural element. The story is about how Adam breaks that supernatural connection to love Raina with all her heart and soul. The story proved to be a tear jerker – a syndrome that occurs once in a blue moon to me. To write a book containing references to a particular religion’s spiritual belief without offending practitioners of that religions as well as people from other religion is not easy task. In fact I many writers would steer clear of such delicate subject. This writer has done a brilliant job in that department. She has explained many beautiful intricacies of the Muslim religion of which I wasn’t aware of. For example, I really didn’t know why Muslim women wear Burqua (Read the book to know why :-P)
There is fine line between romance and eroticism. Many writers tend to unintentionally cross that line. Thankfully for me, this writer managed to stay in that boundary.
To sum it up, this book opened me to a whole new world of a different culture in spite of certain parts of the book reminding me of 50 Shades of Grey.
VERDICT: Must read. Beautiful Story line with deep and rich characters.
One word: M.I.N.D.B.L.O.W.I.N.G! A prayer heeded is a complete roller coaster ride for me! I have never experienced so many emotions at one time! I literally cried, laughed, felt angry, sad, nervous, and what not! It was such an overwhelming experience. I am completely in love with both Adam and Rania and their story of ups and downs. I really like the titles of both part 1 and 2 of the series, they are the core of the whole story, and by the end of the book it actually became my prayer to see adam and rania together and happy. I totally love the whole concept of the presence of Jinns in the story, it was so original. It was really great to see how both of the characters grew internally through the course of time and how they helped each other get rid of their own personal demons. There were some parts which were stronger than the others, so strong that you can actually feel them happening in front of you, like the pyramid part, the time when adam goes to the spiral staircase building for the second time, the night under the sky, and so many more. This book actually taught me a life lesson of how to forgive, let go of things and put your complete faith in God and let Him take care of your problems, because sometimes others pay and suffer because of your actions and mistakes and those others will be the ones you care about the most. I want to thank the author for giving us readers such a dose of emotions. This is actually a story which will possess you and will stay with you forever.
The Relationship between Rania and Adam concludes in the second book in A Prayer Series. A Prayer Heeded picks up were A Silent Prayer Left off. Adam let jealousy and alcohol dictate his actions at the end of A Silent Prayer and hurt Rania, destroying her trust.
She leaves Adam, who she thought was her soul mate created for her by God. Adam realizes what he has done and refusing to give up on Rania, vows to fix what he has done and regain Rania’s trust. When he finds her, she is not the same woman he knew and is now a broken woman. Adam starts to believe he is being rewarded for doing all the good he has done in his life by being given a chance with Rania.
After Adam convinces Rania to come back to him, she tells Adam about her violent past. He reassures her that he loves her no matter what has happened in her past. They must figure out how to fight Rania’s past and the lies that her father told them. Can Adam convince Rania that his love for her will conquer all beings, whether of this world or not and the constant struggle between good and evil?
A Prayer Heeded was a very emotional book. This book had you experiencing every emotion. Just when you thought nothing else could happen Samreen Ashan took your breath away. The story had me glued to the pages from the very first page. I was in tears reading the last chapters of this book. I would highly recommend this series.
A Prayer Heeded : A Prayer Series II by Samreen Ahsan
Rania Ahmed had run away from the man she thought was her soul mate, Adam Gibson. He is on a mission to find her. When he does she is not the same. As secrets are revealed, she begins to tell him of an ancient curse put upon her.
A bit skeptical Adam doesn't realize how important he is in Rania's life. He is determined to never give up on her. Once an Atheist, Adam starts to realize that God is rewarding him for all his good deeds. Will Rania and Adams love for each other out last all the challenges they face? Will their souls be connected for eternity?
An intriguing read. Rania, although tormented and somewhat closed up, is very likable. Adam flawed himself, is a strong character with inner fears himself. The story was very original and really kept me turning pages late into the night.
After finishing A Silent Prayer by Samreen Ahsan last week, I had to pick up the sequel so that I could see how the story would end. I must say, I was not disappointed!
In A Prayer Heeded, the story of Adam and Rania continues. They must develop their relationship based on complete trust. Rania's troubled past is always hanging over her like a dark cloud, and she is afraid to hope that Adam could be the one to save her from that. If he is the one, he will have to have faith, something that is not easy for a former atheist to do.
This is a beautiful spiritual romance. Adam and Rania are soulmates, but they have many obstacles that they must overcome in order to truly be together. Adam must overcome his stubborn refusal to believe in things he cannot see. Rania must put her complete faith in Adam, and after all of the abuse that she has been through, will she be able to do this?
Reading this novel left me with warm fuzzy feelings. It is nice to read a story about all consuming love that is spiritual and emotional. This book series has won numerous awards, and I am very glad to have had the chance to read it. If the author has managed to be so successful on her first published works, I am very excited to see what kinds of things we will see from her in the future.

The story it self is very original. Kept me reading till late in the evening
**Complimentary copy provided by author for an honest review**
A Prayer Heeded, book 2 of the Prayer Series is awesome! I loved it! From the start up to the last, it left me wanting more!!
The story of Adam and Rania continues on this book. With all the things that happened to the two characters on book 1, in this book more exciting things will happen and more secrets will be revealed. I love how it left me guessing on what and whys of the story. I love that it's not predictable and boring. This book rocks!
**You must read book 1 first so that you will not miss anything**
These books A Silent Prayer and Prayer Heeded Is indeed fascinating ...i just cant resist myself on reading it repenatedly....the author has really a very wild imagination, making me feel like i am Rania and my husband is Adam....these books really rocked my world!
A Prayer Heeded: (A Prayer Series II) by Samreen Ahsan. The story continues between Adam and Rania, with complete unexpected twists and turns, you will have to find a sturdy seat to brace yourself onto. In this book, Samreen, gives a new meaning of what a Soul mate is. How far can one person go and how deep is one's commitment to prove their love, is very much emphasized in this story.
After trying to prove he can be trusted again, Adam finally won Rania heart once more, and that led her to open up her deep dark secret that is been haunting her for so long. It is a shock. The past marital relationship is so abusive, crushing and grim. Nevertheless, love conquers all and heals all.
But the story doesn't end there.
Rania discloses that aside from past relationship scars, she is being threaten by the demon himself .Captivated by her beauty, the Jinni is enslaving her with fear and clouding her heart and mind with lies. Making her believe that there is no future for her. Her beauty becomes her curse. Its a great task for Adam. How can he free the one he love? The one he considered his life? Caught in a spiritual battle, how can he fight the unseen foe? When for Adam, seeing is believing. Unknowing to him, he is Rania 's soulmate. He was chosen from the beginning to be her protector. The only one who can save her . The one who holds the keys to free her soul from torment.
Though I admittedly fell in love with the story of A silent Prayer, this book II caught me off guard. It is lovelier. The enormous trials that comes one after the other keeps me guessing and hanging. It is an emotional overload. There are times I have to stop reading, think for a moment and BREATH.. The powerful confrontation among the characters in different situations filled me of emotions. I was angry, sad felt scared and nervous.I loved when Adam went face to face with a Jinni in Egypt, showing his strength, knowledge and dominance. He is a Prince in shinning armor.
Its not like any ordinary romance story. Both novels show the power of sin and how it will destroy life if we continue to dwell in them. On the other hand, the author highlighted that no other power under heaven is stronger than love and faith of those who believe in God's existence.
Samreen Ahsan has created a novels that opens the gateways of imagination in us.
The sequel of A Silent Prayer is indeed a jaw dropping book which is already filled with exciting and thrilling romace.
The sequel "A Heeded Prayer" is way beyond comprehension. It's full of crazy and unpredictable challenges which makes the story more interesting to read. It's not like any other ordinary love stories which you get to read, this one is different. Adam Gibson being an atheist and having no value for relationship falls in love with a beautiful Arab girl named Rania and also starts believing in the existence of God. The guy who thought of women only as a bed partner is now in love with Rania who is cursed by a painful past and no matter what he had to go through he would do anything and everything to protect Rania and be her soulmate forever. Adam discovers the hidden past about Rania and not only does it freaks him out but it separates them again. During this separation Adam experienced some eye-opening paranormal activity (you'll read alot of crazy paranormal activities in this book) which gives him the courage to go back to Rania and apologise for being a coward when she was begging him to confess his love infront of a jinni. He not only apologies but also mends the broken relationship between Rania and her father who blamed Rania for his wife's death. After encountering so many difficulties and insance paranormal activities Adam doesn't gives up on Rania. He gets married to Rania and scratches off all the pain from her past and frees her from the curse which prevented her from falling in love and living a normal life. Sounds crazy yea? Read the book and see it for yourself.
After reading A Silent Prayer I cannot be able to control myself to read the second book. The chemistry between Adam and Rania is outstanding. The love between them, the way Adam sees Rania, the way Adam's love never changes when he learns about Rania it is amazing. Truly a great work by the author. I have completed it within a day because I cannot be able to control myself. The story is also diffrent. We were expecting a tormented past of Rania after reading book 1 but it takes us to experiance samething paranomal. Although there is a hint of paranomal events in book 1 but we didn't really expected something like this. Being a muslim I also have the advantage to understand it more clearly, even if you are not muslim still you can understand it in my case its only I know it in advance about the paranomal thing but when you read it you will also understand it. I really want to see this novel turning into a movie. Although by the author's discription I can feel like its all happening in front of me but still I want to see Adam and Rania's chemistry on screen. So if any movie director is reading my review please think about it. It will definetly be a hit movie worldwide. If you read the first book you will surely not be able to control yourself from reading the second book. It has hooked the readers with the suspence till the very last sentence of the novel. Really an amazing work. 5 stars for it.
"A Prayer Heeded" is a sequel to the "A silent Prayer" , Both Rania and Adam got seperated in first book as Adam's inner Satan put him in jealousy and frustration. This story unfolded many mysteries related to Rania and Adam's character first shaken with disblief and fear. Rania's character is strong enough to survive her tormentous past and she was not easy to trust anyone and her mind was captured by a lovelorn Jinn who claimed to be his Eyptian Pricess Kiya. Story twisted when Adam too thought Rania wasn't human and got out of her life. The event of Fadil ( Good Jinn ) meeting with Adam reminds me the Prophet Sulaiman/Solomon (pbuh)'s meeting with a disbeliever Queen who converted to islam ( mentioned in Quran 27:44 ) . Author did exactly fit in this fictituous story to make an atheist believe on Allah's power. Adam belief become strong on Oneness of Allah , His unseen creatures and the power Allah bestowed him in reward of humanity work. He did confronted Khaldun ( Bad Jinn) in a very risky and provacative way and the thrist of vengeance not only invoked in men but also in Jinn. Adam faced all with his strong headedness and protected Rania at any cost. Though in the middle of story, i got fuzzy feeling about the characters but overall it's a good piece of fiction !
I received an e-copy of "A prayer heeded" in exchange for an honest review on the first book.
The first book, "A silent prayer", was so fascinating I couldn't stop reading it. Then I read the second book... It was everything I didn't expect. It was simply "mind blowing" !!
"A prayer heeded" was like a roller coaster of emotions. I never thought a book could affect me emotionally like that. It made me cry, laugh, sad, nervous, and feeling angry sometimes ! It was so good it gave me goosebumps !
I fell in love with the book and the story of Adam and Rania. Their love story was so original, something you rarely find in books nowadays.
The story starts where the first book ends, as Rania ran away from Adam, and he does everything to win her back. Luckily he did, but then that's where their story really begins.
With all the ups and downs of the story and the paranormal events, This book taught me how to forgive, have faith in God, and love unconditionally. That story will stay with me forever.
So finally, I would like to thank the author for such an amazing story. I feel so sad that the book had to end, but so happy in the mean time that Adam and Rania finally had their happy ending ! Love can really do miracles :)
A Prayer Series intensifies with the second book, A Prayer Heeded. I just knew this series was going to get better and I was SO not disappointed! Adam has broken the trust he had built with Rania…He has a lot of work ahead of him to break down those walls that Rania has built back up around her. He loves her…she loves him…but deep down in Rania’s soul, she knows their relationship can’t go any farther. The Curse…. Yes, you read that right….we thought that Rania mentioning the curse was just a way for her to distant herself from relationships progressing…but the curse is real. The Curse, Jinn, and a power that Adam never knew he had made this story fun and fascinating to read. As you dive into this story, scenes from the first installment totally makes sense. I found this very creative of the author to keep you guessing. The paranormal element that is woven into this story is just brilliant, with its creative original spin. With twists and turns, loyalty, soul-mate love, and a little bit of despair and heartache, this story will grab your emotions and twist them in a good way. A great series with characters that you will easily bond with, this is a romance that beats all the odds.
After reading the first book in Samreen Ahsan's Prayer Series, A Silent Prayer, and being shocked by the cliff-hanger ending, I just had to read the second book, A Prayer Heeded. The second book begins where the first book left off. Adam and Rania are not together because of Adam's possessiveness and his drinking. Rania has lost complete trust in Adam which took the whole first book to obtain. This second book had many twists and turns, most of which were a total surprise. It seemed like these two were never going to get together and stay together. I loved seeing Adam's continual growth in his belief of God, a complete turnaround from the beginning of the first book. The differences in Adam's and Rania's cultures was also quite interesting but both had very secretive pasts that finally came to light between them. I would highly recommend both books to readers. Both were very interesting reads. I wish, however, that I had been Ms. Ahsan's editor because I found no need for all the many, many times the word "fuck" was used. In my mind, it was totally unnecessary and at times very disturbing.
i finished this book in one day and its a great story! this is the sequel of A Silent Prayer. This book is about Rania who loss her trust after what Adam did to her, and try to forget Adam but Adam never loss his hope on Rania, he keep showing her that he loves her.
in this story all the secret that Rania have reveal, about her past, her curse, and all the deepest secret she have. Adam who didnt believe of what he cannot see little by little start to believes in what he didn't see. Adam promise to take care of her and protect her. he maybe can protect her from all the things he see, but what about the things he didn't see? you must read to find out.
this story also have spiritual side, and teach us how to forgive, patient never give up, and believe god had a plan better that we imagine, there's so many moral values we can have on this book. When we read this story we feel like we're on fantasy land, we feel like we're on the journey with Adam and Rania, i can feel the emotion on this book, this book like a modern fairytale, you won't regret reading this book otherwise you will regret if you don't read this book.
The story continues as Rania Ahmed leaves the Christmas Eve party and goes missing from Adam Gibson. She ironic seeks solace at a homeless shelter which Adam has founded and like the people there she is essentially homeless due to the previous fire the night before the party.
Each of them is hurting as they deal with their breakup. Adam has no idea where she is and worries about her safety. Knowing she has no one and has no money on her he worries for her well being. In his mind he figures he has ruin what they had due to his temper and will never regain her trust.
Adam goes back to his old ways drinking and with nameless women trying to forget her but it does not work after she confronts him once again and tell him to leave her alone as she gives him back the million he had put into her account.
It’s an interlude since no real questions are answer as we wonder about their journey. What will really happen to them when they meet again? Can they regain their trust if they do meet again under what circumstances?
I got this book for free in exchange for an honest review: I loved the first book, so there is no way I wouldn’t love the second one. It started where exactly the first book ended. This book shows more of the spiritual romance between Rania and Adam. It was already clear here that they are meant for each other. They were each other’s soul mates. They just need to have faith in each other. This is such an emotional and spiritual book. It made me realize that we just really have to trust God and put all our cares to Him. I am out of words to completely describe how much I love this series. The author is really good. I am not actually a “reading” person, but this story is one of a kind. Original, I must say. I love the author already, and I am looking forward for her next book. Definitely a fan of yours now. Thank you so much. Love love love
the buk prayer heeded!! I enjoyed alot ths buk!! it's real exciting!! the best thng bout ths buk is having such amazing twists wid intervals!! Being hypnotised by the first book this sequel was a must read. I just couldn't wait to get my hands on it. And I must say I wasnt disappointed at all. The story was packed with drama, romance, fantasy and suspense. Not for a single minute did the author loose the focus. The characters were so neatly captured and the story revolved around them kept you so intrigued to the subject. Loved every bit of it
can i read this for free?i am reading silent prayer again after more than a tear.i lovee the story.Ur a very brilliant writer ms.samreen.'though ur story is devoid of sex scene u still make the story so beautiful that makes us reader so engrossed with every detail.Like a real one.that truly touches our heart.I so love the story that I cant express how i wanted to read the sequel.I just dint know how to purchase coz i dont have credit card or that sort.
This was book two of the story of Rania and Adam. I loved this love story, and the battles they fought to be together. The ending had me so frustrated as it left you with that, "what happens next!" I know I will be waiting for another installment. I don't really understand the whole Jinn thing, but the story was so good that it didn't matter.
One of the best books that I have ever read and Rania is one of the most powerful characters ever created. What appeals about the book most is its simplicity and how trust forms the basis of a relationship. It is just so clean and pure . Great work!
The 2nd book was as a "can't put down" read as the first one....the story has it all, crime, romance, drama, spiritual, and paranormal actions - many twist & turns....The story is complete with the 2 books and not what you would expect from the title - well written.
